Okay, we still have people joining us, so we'll give them another couple of seconds. And welcome! The usual question for the starters. Would anyone like to give us a presentation? Oopsie, sorry for that. So, as others are still joining, would anyone be up for giving us a little presentation for the starters? I can start it off, Kat, if you'd like. Absolutely, wonderful. Hi, everybody. I see Jenny's still off mic. Yeah, hi, everybody. I'm going to be a little direct today. So, we're talking about you... already are that. And that's one of the key pointers. And also, we hear often that there's nothing to get. And then we hear that, but then there's kind of an eye wink.
Like, you know, there must be something to get. Even if we're already that, we have to at least... Even if there's nothing to do to be it, there's something to do to recognize that we are that. So, that's why Ramana Maharshi... Nisargadatta Maharaj, Sailor Bob, Jesus... All these people are venerated. There are churches, thousands, millions of dollars spent on non-duality, spirituality. Because, obviously, you know, one plus one equals two. I'm told I'm already that, whether I feel I'm at one with the Holy Spirit or I feel like I'm awareness. I just need to see it. I need to do the quote-unquote investigation. Because right now I'm confused.
And I've talked about how there needs to be no explanation about why someone is in church or why someone's at a non-duality meeting. Why they're even asking questions or why they want to be a teacher, what their motives are. It doesn't matter. It's what is. And there's a harmony to it. But the thing is... It's really quite funny. Because we say that we have to do the investigation, but there's no confusion to begin with. So, there's also not a non-duality police. Like if someone wants to say, I started going to see Bob and I used to be confused, but I clearly see what I am now.
You know, I have no further questions. You know, you can leave it at that. But sometimes... Sometimes when folks elaborate, it kind of begs the question like what we're actually pointing at here. Because if I tell you that, okay, I have no more questions. I talked to Sailor Bob and all my questions were cleared up. I used to think I was chemo. I used to think I was a separate entity. But now I don't. Now I clearly see that chemo is just a story. But I used to fully believe. And now I don't. That's when you need to question me. Or question that kind of commentary.
How it's actually landing. Because I'm here to tell you right now, despite all the self-helps of you have to do something to become. And also the tradition that we're in now and similar traditions. That there is work to be done. You just have to jump and see that you're already that. I say it. It's simpler than that. I say it's simpler than even Papaji saying you're sitting on the treasure. It's just that the poor man needs to look in there and see that there's gold and diamonds instead of begging in Bombay. Just look under there. All you have to do is look and you'll see that you're that.
Here's the thing. Your true nature has never been confused about what it is. So you hear, oh my gosh. It's. It's. It's. And yes, the exasperation can be there. Oh my gosh. I can't believe I looked at this for 30 years and I finally got it. Why? It's just so simple. I was already that. That is the appearance of a person who has the feeling of being exasperated. It's an appearance and awareness. This subject of I was confused and now I'm not. Or now I'm clear. But I'm still, you know, other folks saying I'm confused. This subject is not who you are. This experience or.
Doesn't it doesn't matter how how you feel the experience or is if if I feel like I am. Chemo, a separate individual, or I think I'm cosmic consciousness who used to think that I was something else. But now I know that I'm it's the same thing. It doesn't matter whether you're taking. Yourself to be a third person or a glorious first person cosmic consciousness. When when we say you are all you all you know is that you are and you know that you are. We're not talking. I think most people get that. We're not talking about chemo, that chemo doesn't know he is. But we're also not talking about.
Kind of like it's kind of like it's kind of like a fun little shuffle, so it's kind of like. Well, I don't think I'm chemo, but I but I I think I'm this impersonal awareness that has no bounds. But I I got it and and other people didn't get it. But that's a sure sign there that that that this is it. You're taking yourself to be some kind of subject, even if it's grandiose, it's problematic. So no matter where anyone is on their path right now. And I love this. I love cats. I can't. I can't. I can't remember exactly how she said it, but I'm going to elaborate it a little bit too to say like anyone is welcome to share because everyone is this.
You know, I heard from Martin. I heard from the other guy who kicked it. I just totally enjoyed these on Tuesday morning. And anyone can do this. It's not a matter of, oh, this one's so clear and but but I can't speak. I can't speak. I can't read. I can't talk at all. I can't talk too much. I can't text. I just can't. I just can't. I have to get my thoughts together because, you know, ten times per day, I think I'm chemo or I think I'm, you know, Terrance or whatever your name is. But one thing cat said is like, it's a way of looking at this thing.
But is this like a fun little soap bubble? Or is this something where I'm just reinforcing, you know, there's an appearance of a subject who feels confused, and then adding on to that, piling on to that, like discipline or dissatisfaction? Yeah. And I think sometimes that's what's really important. It's like, I don't want if I don't know how to read. I don't want to read. like discipline or dissatisfaction that I am not seeing it. Well, I hate to tell you but no one is seeing this. There is no one who realized that there, this presence, nobody. And anyone can get on here and say I recognize that I got it.
You didn't. This isn't a subject. It's not a supreme subject. It's not a limited subject. It's neither one. The idea of a subject who gets this is an appearance in this. And this presence is the only game in town. So you say like oh well it doesn't include that. Yes it does include that but it includes that as the presence itself. Everything is an appearance including the idea that I'm chemo, including even if it's like hey this is true. This is true. I spent you know whatever you say I spent twenty three thousand dollars and thirty years looking for this. I can have a banker who verifies it.
It doesn't make it true. It makes the time and motion study true for you know practical purposes. We're not denying that it happened. We're denying that it's you. And another thing we say here is you know there's no doer. I would like to refine that more. You're not the doer because obviously it's going to be a mind if he say that there's no do or because there is an appearance of a doer. It's just not. It's just not you. There is doing and the idea of a label that I did it or she did it but he didn't do it. I didn't do it. There's nothing wrong with that until unless that's taken totally on board.
And even if it is taken totally on board, it's still not what you are. You can put on whatever costume you want. I'm confused. I'm the perpetrator. I got it. It's still not you. And it's still not you, the one who, hey, you know, I'm Dean or I'm Kat or, you know, Gilbert, you know, or I'm Ram or Tazzy. You know, I'm off to the side. You know, I'm in the finish line. I got it. You know, I didn't get it, but quote unquote, you know, wink, wink, nudge, nudge, I did get it. You didn't get it. If you think you got it, it's just a story.
This presence is so present, it doesn't need to be discovered. It doesn't need to be uncovered. It doesn't need to be convinced, or wedged away from an identification. Because already right now, it's not identifying. And you say like, oh, bullcrap. In my experience, I am identity. I feel like chemo 100%. So how can you tell me? So if presence is everything, and it's appearing right now as I'm confused, I don't get it. Bullcrap chemo. I am confused. Because the feeling of I'm confused is here. I feel it, physically. I feel mentally exhausted. I've gone to all these meetings. I don't get it. So you're wrong.
I am confused. And I've seen Tassie Gilbert and other people get this, and I want to get it too. But I would say, wait a minute. That's what makes this so alive, this feeling that I can be other than this pure essence. If you look at this, no matter how tight it is, I don't get it. It's true. People see my anxiety. They hear my questions. They know I don't get it. But I could still slip another credit card. Even in that biggest tension, that biggest confusion, I could still slip a little credit card between that experience of I think I'm this subject who's confused, and here's how my world is crap, and the Sailor Bob teaching is going to free me from that.
I can still slip that card through there where that's the biggest tension. I can still see this is all an appearance. And we kind of add to that, and that can be seen right now, kind of like that's a carrot. There's nothing to do, but you're already that. You can see it right now. I'm saying it is being seen right now. It's just not being acknowledged. It's completely on display right now as an appearance. The whole idea of taking yourself to be separate, the whole idea of I'm confused, the whole idea of I'm not being separate, the whole idea of I'm not of I've got it.
It's completely a registered event in this, in what I'm pointing at. And what I'm pointing at is not an attainment. It's not an attainment, nor is it something that's already attained that needs to be uncovered. It's perfectly present, never been confused. When we say it's perfectly whole and complete, that's exactly what we mean. There aren't all these iterations of it that are actually confused. It's just an appearance of confusion. And just seeing that, it's like it gets right back to what Kat's saying. All the complaining about life, or the Norman Vincent Peale style, I'm going to look at it as just funny soap bubbles. Oh, this is the presence in which this funny identification is happening.
Ha ha ha, you didn't get me. Try again later. I say both of those, the Norman Vincent Peale happy bubbles, or the really deep, I'm exhausted, I'm tired of this crap, I don't want to go to meetings, I am confused. That is my experience. It is reality. But both of those are appearances. Not only the experience itself of happiness or weighted downness, but this subject, no matter how gross or subtle it is, chemo, who's a man? Who lives in Florida? Or, you know, I'm cosmic consciousness, who, you know, it finally, it finally, the penny finally dropped for cosmic consciousness. In my case, I don't know about you.
Well, you can never say that. Because you cannot shuffle around the infinite with the finite like that. That the infinite is perfectly being its glory in infiniteness right now. It doesn't need to be attained, and it doesn't need to be recognised by anybody, because it already is self-aware, and I'll pass it right there. Thank you, Kimo. That was absolutely beautiful. And this is such a crucial point, it's such a crucial distinction. You cannot overemphasise that element in which, you know. You know, people often ask me questions like, okay, how much time you are in the realisation, and how many times you are the dream or what is on average how much bob was caught in the mind or he was relaxed in awareness wrong question as as kimo explained beautifully there's no one there to be trapped or untrapped the registering is going on even when the mind is in complete fight flight freeze whatever the mode and as the the best thing is to just you know look at those cats roaming around they have no idea oh i should be different or i should not be thinking or i should not be reviewing the past or future i should not be watching this particular movie it doesn't matter what the content of the dream is it is registered but is it me is it i i am registering before i was kimo you was cut and now i am emptiness registering no there's no one there there's no i to be anything there's no i to be space it's just registering just like raining just like shining just like anything and and this is often and and that was beautifully presented kimo you know like i have i have realized you haven't realized oh i get it it clicked oh i get it it clicked for me it didn't click for you ah there's no one here and there's no one there yes but i still feel contraction i still believe i'm a person not quite right there is a content of the dream being registered of that belief arising but there is still no one there yes yes but it feels as if there was yeah yeah sure you know like you look in the dark corner and there is coat hanging there it still feels like there's someone standing in the corner it still feels like there might be a monster under the bed it's a beautiful beautiful persistent illusion it's a fantastic dream it's as if you watch you know the best tv show ever written and you really really feel every suspense with every fiber of your body and you're watching it on the screen you're watching it on the screen you're watching it on the screen you're watching it on the screen in the cinema or or at home this one is so much better so the convincing element of this one is so much more intense i remember when i was a kid they used to do this six or seven g sort of a this place where you enter a capsule you sit in the chair and as you go through the cave or something the chair is moving the little water is splashing so the experience is more immersive than just watching sitting still and watching flat screen how about having the full immersion with the virtual reality suit which actually hurts when you uh when you tap it and yes everything that is experienced and believed into reality feels absolutely convincing like santa claus for a child completely convincing and yet who is the person who is about to leave the world and who will go into the realm of life, that person is the person you already met and has the potential and the opportunity to interact with it in the next life.
for a child completely convincing and yet who is being lived and trusted as you get older and older? instinct and yet who is there who is there believing it is there really a mini me yes it feels like there is a mini me the mini me the feeling us if there was a mini me is being registered oh yeah but you don't have this feeling anymore and I do still have this feeling so there is a difference presence or absence of feeling guess what I may have a feeling of hunger while you just had dinner what's the difference the content of the dream is secondary whether the dream is pleasant unpleasant boring or exciting or whether it is a horror or a drama whatever the dream is is secondary any content is still pointing to that registering capacity whether it is a dream at night when you're running from the monsters of flying whether it is a daydream you're running from the monsters of flying whether it is a daydream you're running from the monsters of flying whether it is a daydream about your next whether it is a daydream about your next whether it is a daydream about your next vacation or whether it is the little vacation or whether it is the little vacation or whether it is the little time travel into the memory of your time travel into the memory of your time travel into the memory of your first day at school or your first day or first day at school or your first day or first day at school or your first day or wedding day or whatever all those wedding day or whatever all those wedding day or whatever all those dreams have one common denominator the dreams have one common denominator the dreams have one common denominator the registering capacity the witnessing registering capacity the witnessing registering capacity the witnessing presence is it the presence of a me it's presence is it the presence of a me it's presence is it the presence of a me it's just the presence because even if you of me that persists throughout the lifetime it's definitely not the shape and the form of the body it's definitely not the conceptual image I'm a good little kid now I'm not anymore it's definitely not the presence or absence of particular thought or particular feeling because they are constantly changing so it isn't that I that realized anything isn't the I that did investigation and arrived at the conclusion that's a good pointer is not and I remember Kimo pointing out to it a couple of times before and this is really really great point pointers all of them can be demolished can be discarded can be pulled apart and thrown away but it's much much better to take advantage of them first look when their point first recognize and then yeah sure it's like the the Buddhist story of of using the raft crossing the river and then leaving the raft there so is there anyone who does investigation anyone who does recognize anyone who is enlightened or anyone who persists in the state of you presence beyond the mind anyone who is trapped in the mind there's no one there full stop yes but there is an appearance of someone wearing a coat there is an appearance of the monster under the bed there is an appearance of separate self really if we look at the appearance of separate self we can see that there isn't really an appearance because we don't we can't even look with the eyes so it may be some sensation present I am in greater trance so that's it it is a existent reality also so speakingyk I was listening to a comment Flora that the mind interprets as a contraction or imagine a shape of it the size of it but that's it that's the content of the dream that's the screen and I think there was some of that which can't be labeled beautiful and by the way that and that's a very rare event I got and I got the PayPal donation from someone called Anthony so if that's you thank you that's really really nice especially I'm on fairly low income from the sales of a book and that was a beautiful price and Kapil says when exploring direct experience sensations like pain seem to validate a separate self yes we get back to that that's a very very good point is it really the presence of pain seems to prove the presence of a sense of that's right yes additionally sensations present with pain and personal pain are very accessible for our brain to understand these sensations of pain and personal pain are open to our brain and it's not surprising that in this spatial depth a pain in the foot feels physically more distant than the sensation in the face this makes it feel as though the eye is located inside the head looking down how should one investigate this specific illusion of distance and location and and can't take credit for that but glad to hear okay no worries just I don't want me sad I'd love to thank someone but I was knowing my largest so I just okay let's let's let's get to the to the question so presence of spatial that when exploring direct experience sensations like pain seem to validate a separate a separate self see when the cat experiences pain it doesn't validate separate self at all it's just a rising sensation and that arising sensation is frankly for the purposes of the body to function most optimally so when the cat has a rising sensation I just put the cat on fairly high shelf and it was really quite apprehensive of jumping down perhaps ten years of age it might really quite apprehensive of jumping down perhaps ten years of age it might be that the joints are a little bit sore at that point so I'll be more careful be that the joints are a little bit sore at that point so I'll be more careful that his I don't know if there was a pain but it looked like there was a that his I don't know if there was a pain but it looked like there was a little bit of an attention involved pain generally is a call for attention so if little bit of an attention involved pain generally is a call for attention so if there is a burnt out there is a cut on the skin that pain says watch out be there is a burnt out there is a cut on the skin that pain says watch out be careful that vehicle is compromised in very similar way as if you have a car careful that vehicle is compromised in very similar way as if you have a car display there is a red light flashing or there is a beep if there is any injury somewhere in the body of the car it says pay attention attention required so physical sensation whether it is a body of an animal or whether it is a body of a human or whether it is a body of the car it has its function but it does not prove that you are the car it does not prove that you know like it doesn't really prove anything it just prove itself and now the distance yes there is for again navigational purposes the illusion of the shape and size and space and distance and that you know in a case of a cat he's got the whiskers so when it moves through the through the tight fence and it can push his head and feel with the whiskers how the rest of the body is gonna gonna go through it gives it a clue we humans are not able to see the distance and we can't see the distance around and that's why it needs to the weak at that's why it needs to be visible and not beautiful you know I'm a nurse who works for a an easy program we need to consider the sound of our public and private language in implemented.
Like initially I needed to have the overall, then I needed a helmet, then I needed a goggle, then I needed a shoes. And then suddenly I'm going to the engine room and going under the engine and I am 20 centimeters taller than my assumed size and I'm bumping into absolutely everything. Am I my helmet? Am I my shoes? No. The sense of a size for navigational purposes is another fantastic practical self-organizing universe creating the vehicle that can actually, just like when you drive a car, you assume the size. It can actually assess its own dimensions. So yes, the feel of a pain, even if there is no feel of a pain, you still have the sensation that there is a distance to your toes or to your arms or even to your heart.
But this distance is another sensation arising on the screen. Can you actually really experience the distance to the self that you are? The knowing, the knowingness. We assume that it is located somewhere in the upper body for more visual people, it will be behind the eyes, for more kinesthetic people, perhaps around the heart, for mixed or auditory, somewhere, usually somewhere outside. So it's a very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, there is an assumption that there is a mini me somewhere located.
There is the so-called ego or small self or whatever you call it that has the free will and control and capacity to control, to choose the thoughts, the behaviors. That's the assumption. And that's the assumption we are looking at because other animals, they don't have this assumption and they function equally efficiently. Blending with whatever the demand of the environment is. Birds are flying, fish are swimming and breathing underwater. So those things, they seem like, oh yeah, this is a valid argument. But is it really? Does it really prove that I'm the body? The fact that I can, you know, even increase my size by gaining 20 kilos on cakes and beer or whatever.
Or perhaps, you know, get into the accident and have my legs chopped off. Those doesn't doesn't make me more or less that I can assess the distance or shape of a body somewhat differently. I'm going to see if I'm not straying from the question. Sensations present in with spatial depth, a pain in the foot and more distance than sensation in the face. Yes. See, for someone it is the face. For other people is the heart. And they say, yeah, the top of my head is quite far away in the in that assumption. And still assuming the location of of of the center and measuring the distance from it doesn't make it real.
It's still an assumption. How should one investigate this specific illusion of distance? Yeah, I think I think the best way. Is to just. That's if you drive a car, if you drive the car, see how you assume the spatial dimensions of your car or when you put the helmet on. It's the same the same way you take it off. I would point to when Bob says and say, try separate yourself from elements. Try and get out of space. Yeah, that's a wonderful point. Absolutely. Yeah. And Michael, would you like to unmute? Yeah. Hi folks. Good to see you. Hey. So yeah. I was just gonna say for me personally, I close my eyes and I sort of think about a part of my body.
I don't know if this answers the question, but I'll say it anyway. If I can't think of a part of my body. I can't locate anything. Unless I call it something. So yeah, I have to call it something. I have to call it a foot. And then I've got an image of a foot in my mind. So I can't find any location of any body unless I have a thought. That's only with the thought that I can. There's a sense of energy or sensation or something. But even that you have to give it a name. So I'm gonna move. Without the idea, without giving it a name or an idea or a concept.
There's no distance either. And it's the same with driving. If I'm driving, like if you turn the mind off, if you're just moving or walking or driving, then everything is coming to me. It's not me moving to anything without a thought. And I think so. Bob used to say that too. He had. Who came to visit him from the headless world. Someone came to visit him and he said the whole of Australia came to him. Like, yeah, I just thought I'd add that. Yeah, that's that's a great point. You can see how even the idea of being a body or having a body. If the body doesn't ache.
What do you know about it? What do you know about your heels if they don't ache or if you don't stop them or if you don't focus specifically with the body? The mental image. And I remember. So I remember doing the Vipassana meditation where I was specifically told to keep my eyes closed and focus the attention on every little point around my whole body from head to toe. Can you actually do it without mental representation, without mental image of that back? you know in the front and arm and the finger see how the mind cooperates in recreating that that vehicle through the imagination because the eyes are closed and planting those sensations like a confirmation bias the same way the belief system works the mind the body all believed into existence and if I expect to find the sensation on the tip of my nose well there it is apparently there was an and again science is another religion it isn't any proof of any sort but there was one of a pretty brilliant breakthrough in the neuroscience and general knowledge of the way of the human computer human mind working that was undermining all the alleged depth of conscious super conscious subconscious semi-conscious and all that stuff by bringing up the incredible capacity of the human mind of that brilliant language model to improvise the answer when there is no memory available so improvising the answer like Michael would hypnotize me and get me through the regressing part and tell me to move hundred years and bring up any memory and barely shit obviously there isn't any the brain wasn't even planned at that point needless to say there was no spark in the milk man my eye so so there is no way of storing any form of memory from back then a thousand years ago or ten thousand and a phenomenon of hundreds of Cleopatra's and Napoleon's through the regressive stuff, mind will still come up with the answer.
If the answer is expected, the answer will come up. The answer will be brilliantly coiled up, improvised, the same way brilliant artists write the science fiction books, or the same way the dream machine work when you sleep. And when you train yourself to remembering dreams, wow, you will see the incredibly breathtaking creativity of that language model, which can come up with absolutely incredible ideas. I used to write down the dreams and the multiverses, the worlds, the galaxies that I, as a point in consciousness, because there wasn't any person, it's always a point in consciousness, I barely ever experienced legs and arms and never a face.
I had a glimpse of looking in the mirror and never was the same face. And as Michael says, you know, Bob's friend, Douglas Harding, headless way, do you really have the face unless you imagine one, unless you see the reflection of one? How about a spleen, pancreas, all those things we actually bring into existence by believing them, believing they are there. And of course, the collective. Yeah. Dream becomes solidified through collective agreed upon reality. This is solid. We don't walk through the wall in this particular settings. That's the game rules and we all sign up for it. Not that there is any signing, but that's how the body was conditioned, how the body mind was conditioned right from the start.
And I see you, Jenny, would you like to unmute? I'm out walking, so I will stay off camera. When you spoke, what came to me was, it is so fascinating to see how all systems, they are just systems. I got reminded the other day, I was just watching on YouTube, I think it was one of the music, it wasn't idol, it was the voice. Where there was this woman that's running someone's house and she was who was a singer who had stopped her career because she got this very unusual condition where her hearing got so amplified that she could hear everything in her own body.
She could hear her heartbeat, she could hear the blood rumbling through her blood vessels and she had this, there's a name for this condition, you know, where the hearing was just extraordinary in the appearance that was her life. That's how life expressed through her. So on the same note, I think that when we are here in our temporary bodysuit, we all will experience this experience differently. Some are very kinesthetic, some really know, can feel everything in their body, others don't feel anything. Somebody has a high pain level, some, Charlie, nay, sorry that was my dog, somebody has a low, Charlie, nay, a low pain level, and it's just different.
And our systems are just different. You know, it's the same, look at our globe. The very same second, it can be raining in one place and in another place, the sun is drying out, making the environment into a desert. In a third place, it's ice cold. In a fourth place, something else is happening. You know, all appearances. And as humans, we sometimes think that our appearance is similar to somebody else's appearance. And that's why we often think that, feel that, well, if there's this specific way of getting something, that everybody should get it, that everything should be the same for everybody. And only if things happen, in a specific way, it is real.
And that's like so weird. It's like saying that having a pulse of 120 when walking is better than having a pulse of something else when walking or whatever crap our mind makes up. So in essence, it's just always, always our capacity to think, to analyze, to question, to mind, excuse my French, to mind fuck that causes us any kind of problem. Because if we just remain in the very place where we are, which is in this very moment, wherever we are located physically right now, wherever we are located mentally, emotionally, whatever, if we just rest in this place, like Bob used to remind us of, and leave things unaltered, unmodified, uncorrected, and just leave things as they are, then the experience that we will have is we will see that things, nothing remains the same, everything is constantly changing.
And yeah, there is this observing, witnessing, whatever you want to call it, capacity that will be revealed if we just leave everything as it is. So I know there is nobody getting anything, but I would actually still, I'm going to claim and be so controversial and non-dualistic or whatever we should call it that I like to say same, same, but different. That the experience of being here right now, nothing has changed at all. And at the same time, everything is very different. But there's nobody that it's different for. It's just whatever, you know. And well, that's what came out of me. And now I don't know where my dog went, so I need to focus on where the dog is in this here and now.
Over and out. Yay, thank you. Yeah, it is really amazing how everything is the same and everything is fresh and new. What's the same? What's different? Why even differentiate? It is really amazing. When we call it some elevated supreme state, surreal state or enlightenment state, that breeds from you see, the expectations, confusions, mental images. That's why Bob would call the terms that were less abused, like intelligence, energy or life. So is the intelligence, energy flowing through that machine? Experiencing itself as the seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, smelling? Well, clearly so is the intelligence energy, less or more experiencing itself through the seeing hearing of a bird or Maybe there is other senses there available, but the experience of existence experience of presence is there through any vessel through any vehicle if the vehicle is full of the beliefs full of the conspiracy beliefs beliefs in in Jesus or beliefs in Allah or or vaccines or anti-vaxxers or AI or no AI What doesn't matter?
Doesn't matter what the content of the dream is the dream itself gives the reflection of existence and again if you look from the whole nature of the of that dream is dualistic always and forever so non duality is there even such thing as non duality Even to exist as a thing It would have to already be a duality because then we have non duality and then there is something else than non duality That's a lot of dualistic to Anything that can be experienced anything that can be perceived or sensed in any way or conceived imagined seen heard whatever Can has to be dualistic How could you possibly know?
the white color if there was no other colors if everything was just white and nothing else There would be no color whatsoever. There would be no point no sense For differentiating white as white there would be no need for label and there would be no white in the same way any experience experience of pain pleasure drama of longing or one thing what is not one thing some supreme state with more pleasure or or relief from the drama, from the pain, from suffering. Whatever is the content of that movie displayed on the screen, it just points to the existence of the screen. And let's say there is no dream, there is no duality.
All duality folds up, disappears, like in the deep sleep at night, or when the body dies, there is no projection going on, there is no dream whatsoever. The plug is pulled out from the computer, and the computer goes dead, blank. There is no experience going on. There is no display showing up on the screen. Is there even a question then, required or necessary, of existence at all? And is there any knowledge or any experience of existence at all? There isn't. So if you look at the omnipresence, omnipotence, omniscience, or God, the... the full field of pure potentiality, the field that doesn't manifest, doesn't vibrate into any patterns, or any shapes, or any forms, is that even existent?
Can you... Is there even a field? There is no field. Is that field of awareness even there? If it can't express as any pattern, shape, or form, can it even... fathom its own existence or non-existence, if it doesn't have the vehicle, the vessel, through which it can experience or express itself? Clearly, there isn't. So the great awareness or the great consciousness is completely unconscious. It's not even there. So the only way for the knowledge of I am, or for the joy of being, or the existence, or for any reflection, is to... to... to... to... to... to... to... to... to... to... to... to... to... to... to...
to... to... to... to... of the existence, to be. The dualism comes about. The dualistic manifestation. The day-night, winter-summer. Black-white. Up-down, left-right. Body, no body. Eyes, no eyes. Seeing, no seeing. All of it, the whole shabang comes into the picture. So there is either dualistic manifestation, dualistic expression, and dualistic display, the whole dream, or there is nothing at all. Not even nothing. So that's... that's... basically, why is the dream, and the content of the dream, even if there is... even if the content is uncomfortable, even if the content is psychological suffering, or assuming myself to be poor, miserable, unworthy, unlovable, and suicidal, why this is really secondary.
Doesn't matter what shows up on the screen. It points out to the existence of the projector, of the sentience, of the... of the life essence. And Jenny, would you like to unmute? Yes. It's so funny when you mention that. I'm gonna see her. I want to share my camera, but I'm sort of trying to change it around. So did you see my environment? But anyhow, doesn't seem to happen right now. I'm out in the forest, or on a small road. And suddenly, Bob came into my head. Watch the mind and see how it operates. He used to remind us. And I love, I love that pointer.
Because for instance, just for as an example, I am very aware that when I walk here, if I remind myself mentally that it is bear hunting season, and there might be bears in this forest right now, that there might be, a bear lurking somewhere behind the tree, observing me while I walk here with my dog, then all kinds of things could happen. My pulse could raise and my, I could be tension in my body and whatever, you know. Right now, this isn't happening because I'm just smiling as I'm just using this, as an example. But it has also been an experience that when I've been in the forest, and suddenly a thought comes up, and I noticed myself beginning to walk faster.
And that's in essence, if there is any practice, if anybody was looking for a practice, if there's any practice that can be quite amusing actually, is to watch the mind and to see how it operates. And just to question the truth of the content of the mind. You know, really to be a critic of the content, to see, well, is this really so? Can I prove that this is so? Like we investigate if there is a center point, a me, a physical me, me, me to be found. So, and it's maybe, it may feel difficult when we talk about it in regards to, quote unquote, us as a person, as we are conditioned to be so attached and to protect and to keep this human, our human existence safe.
But if we play around with less, quote unquote, identity threatening thoughts, it can be quite fun. You know, like right now, is there actually a bear here? I don't know. Am I in danger? I don't know that either, but am I in danger right this very moment, this here and now? No, nothing has changed from prior to the thought arising in my head. So that's just what came to mind when you shared. So, I'm off camera again, going to see where dog went now. Yeah, let's hope the dog is safe from the bear also. Isn't it amazing? Watching the mind is not only the best show in town, but it also is inevitable.
You can't not not see it. You can't not. It is registered. The working of the mind is registered. So actually relaxing and enjoying. The show. That's the natural state. Just just relaxing from that compulsion of persisting the illusion of control. Persisting the idea that if I will object to the reality, and if I will resist the reality, then perhaps it will mercifully change, but it's too late. That is how it shows up. Jenny's in the forest. Maybe there is a bear lurking behind the bushes. No point objecting to it. Hey, the camera is, is it? Okay. Okay. We're going to just move it this way.
That's right. Is there a bear in there? Might be. No, we can't see the bear. I can't see. But you never know. And if the bear is there, objecting to, to existence of presence of a bear, if it appears already in the bushes, and if we, if you see the purse face, then, you know, trying to manifest it away of those bushes is too late is too late. And also trying to manifest something else than this moment as it already appeared is fruitless is pointless. Again, too late. This moment as it shows up. That's how it looks like. That's how it appears. So why not just sit back and enjoy the show?
So it's not always the show is enjoyable. And this is often the questions I'm getting. I, you know, I get trapped in mind and the mind is yapping and it's commenting and it's chewing on the past. It's chewing on the past offenses that been taken. I'm sorry, week ago or two weeks ago. So is that a problem? If you actually see it back and you watch boring chewing of the, mind, can you change the channel that will be registered? But there are other channels also available. It can include the sounds of the background. So the mind chewing on the offense neighbor said this and shouldn't have said this blah blah blah blah blah at the same time.
Hmm. There is breathing happening in the body. Wow. There's a subtle pleasure in giving that life giving breath to the whole machine. Wow. And the NSC upping is still happening and even maybe subtle judgment. Oh, this again boring. And then there are other channels. Also, there is a hearing background sound going on by grand sounds. They are sensations present all those channels when they are included. The aliveness present in the moment rather than exclusively focus into that boring channel of of of knowledge. Wow. Wow. Wow. That yes, can be quite unsatisfying. Just including the whole shabang. And even when the body is uncomfortable, that level of discomfort significantly drops because part of that experiencing.
Is the amazement. Is the wow. Wow. Even if the dream gets really shitty. Wow. Wow, dream gets shitty. Wow, you know that's not going to last. The moment is now to be present to the unfolding, to the shitty dream, to the headache, or whatever it is. You have something? No, I was listening to a little bit. Hi, everyone. I was listening to a little bit in the car on the way. And even this non-duality meeting that's going on now, and everyone's sharing and exploring the different pointers, describing and sharing what this is. And I think it's just amazing that even this meeting itself and every moment, it's still that same presence, that same sense of presence that's actually permeating, that's happening.
That's enabling even the ability to share and describe what this presence is, is the presence itself. And that's like the underlying current. So it's not as if there is anyone anywhere that needs to actually get something or understand something or recognize this or that or the other. There is no one there. There is just the presence in which all this story, all this appearing, all this discussion, and description of that which is indescribable and that which is non-discussable in that sense. It's always there. And, you know, I think it's sort of, it permeates. Like it is the ground, the foundation, the substratum, the reason why this can even appear to be in that way that it appears.
It's in a non-dual circle of sharing and exploring. And I know when that's at the heart, then every sharing and every essence is easily recognized and easily sort of resonates because it's that one. It's that one, that presence in which all these different expressions are expressing, not as individuals, but as expressions of that one. Hmm. Hmm. Can you read the last couple of comments? Hmm, yeah. From Ant? Yeah. Yeah, from Ant. Watch the mind and see how it operates. Beautiful way to shift, just way to just shift the focus from the mini, the mini-me to the substratum. Ah, yes. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. And, you know, and watching the mind and seeing how it operates doesn't mean, like, analyze the mind and understand everything that the mind is doing and how it is doing it and why it is doing it and when is it doing it and and it's not that's not that's not what's really being described it's watching watching how it's constructing a sense of separation if it is or a sense of a you and a me and a difference and a higher and a lower and a better and a worse and and the oscillation of those interrelated opposites have their just constant movement all in that substratum like like like what's um shared here and Yvonne says Jenny by being relaxed the bear will not smell you exactly good point we don't release our stress theramines and Kappel says if we are fundamentally not the body what motivates us to protect and maintain it it seems that letting go of this identification would destroy all ambition and basic self-preservation inevitably leading to physical harm poverty or worse how does non-duality reconcile the realization of not being the body with the practical necessity of keeping it safe and functioning beautiful question would you how would you how would you approach your car you know if you depend on your car and it takes you to to work every day would you put gasoline in it or would you look after it and keep it clean but you're not your car so you wouldn't say oh yeah of course but i am my car that's why so i am my body that's why i don't put poison in there no the why the body is looked after according to its conditioning and that includes nissargada smoking his bidis one after another and giving himself a throat cancer and dying of it the fact that the body is looking after itself to the best of its ability in the environment that is given and whether the body is the body of a fly or whether it is a body of a of a bird or the body of a human is because the body is already equipped in the senses and in the instincts that protect it it still doesn't prove that i'm the body just like i look after my clothing and it doesn't make me my clothing doesn't make me my jumper uh can you and jenny responded like the heart beats by itself everything else works the same way life living life yeah yeah yeah but thank you for the question capil yeah we do like to actually see every potential possible question that there is but i hope you see that it doesn't really prove anything it doesn't prove the identity and now if you lose the identity let's say the sense of identity that software that narrates and tells me that i'm a person i'm a human being that this identity is responsible for my actions in the world and protecting the body and and being ambitious that is again a claim that cannot stand of its own because we know people like jesus or the Buddha or Bob and many people here in this group who actually don't they they dropped away that particular belief that particular concept that I know what I am I am this identity and without that concept functioning didn't change I didn't stop taking shower for example or writing a book or anything that again the idea that the identity provides the ambition it can't stand of its own because if you look at the Alpha monkey in the chimpanzee Kingdom as far as we know the symbolic language isn't developed enough you know it's not developed enough to be a symbol of the human race and it's not developed enough to be a symbol of the human race and it's not developed enough to be a symbol of the human race and it's not for that monkey to create a for that monkey to create a for that monkey to create a mental construct of an image of itself mental construct of an image of itself mental construct of an image of itself and yet it instinctually if it's strong and yet it instinctually if it's strong and yet it instinctually if it's strong enough it will challenge other potential enough it will challenge other potential enough it will challenge other potential leaders and take a charge of a puck leaders and take a charge of a puck leaders and take a charge of a puck or the wolf or any other animals or the wolf or any other animals or the wolf or any other animals and there is no ambition backing it up and there is no ambition backing it up and there is no ambition backing it up so the behavior happens the story may change like for example a person who is a person it's just body mind machine which is conditioned to believe that my identity gives me a drive to go to work and perform my duties then going to work and performing their duties will be backed up with the story this is because i have the identity if someone else like if i go to work and perform my beaut my duties that story will not back them up but because i was brought up in the family of responsible people if i make a commitment i'll show up and if people depend on me and i was working on supporting people for a few years when i also bob never came late to work never let anyone down that's because the body was conditioned this way but the story that this is because i'm very ambitious and i'm very responsible this is because i am better than you or whatever that backing story wasn't necessary the same action happened without assumed identity without that assumed ambition ambition is again another word if there is an urge in the body to write a book or there is an urge in the body to go and empty the bladder how different are they really the difference is in a backing story now if i'm writing a book oh yeah i'm ambitious i have something important tell to people oh my gosh this is yes this is an achievement a goal and it takes timeline and all that stuff while emptying a bladder is instinctual but really on the very fundamental level the incentive arises to get up and empty the bladder drink some water or incentive arises to start on the computer and start typing the backing story differentiates it the justification differentiates it but even the justification is not a choice because if i was brought up amongst people in the environment in which everyone justifies everything that they do and i think chemo actually started the meeting with the spiel about you know you don't need to justify why you're coming to the meeting why are you still showing up investigating non-duality you don't have to answer any questions why if the answering happens it is because of the mechanical conditioning of the machine but the truth is you're not doing it you're showing up here you haven't done it that's what arising consciousness a meeting arising consciousness oh yes but the backing story says oh it means that i'm still seeking it means i'm still not getting it it means it means it means it doesn't it's only the mind doing performing its somersaults performing its role just like ears are detecting sounds the mind is woven the story according to its conditioning believing mind stories that's what we are investigating and freedom from believing the mind stories is the only freedom there is because if if if the belief that i am my mind i am the person i depend on my identity i depend on something or the other is questioned then you find out that yes like jenny was saying the heart's still beating and i see there is another comment didn't it oh yeah there's a little bit of oh yeah yeah just uh jenny yeah yeah it's just a little bit of um jenny says uh you were you were a bear in your past life yvonne yvonne says no just now be aware and yvonne says i am the alph and the omega and then ant um says monks that would sit in a hole in silence till they die the programming is just instinct if the instinct is to stop eating and drinking it's what's appearing it's not stuck in stone like the just being okay like anything transient yeah beautiful and it doesn't really matter how the dream unfolds again as as i said a couple of times i don't want too much repetition but the dream is secondary whether i appear as a person who is very ambitious very prolific or is very efficient or is proficient in setting goals and manifesting the outcomes and all that is secondary to the fact that you know the dream is arising right here in that registering capacity this is it the dream is reflecting the pure existence or whether the dream of me i'm a failure i can't amount to anything i can't hold relationships i can't have children i can't make money and and i just better kill myself or whatever this dream also reflects that miracle of existence itself the content on the on the screen of the computer is secondary the fact that this screen is animated the camera is capable of of registering the the mic is capable of registering this is the miracle the content that is being registered is secondary and the content will be the identity justifications demon would you like to unmute yeah i just had one about um watching the mind and how choices are made and things like that i still very much think of myself self but when it's going when it's reasonably just seems to go well it's just seems to be a witness thank you and recently i was in guyana and taking a taxi ride now if you've ever taken a taxi ride in some of these countries it's quite um quite an experience and i've sat in the back and i went and put my seat belt on i noticed my arm just reached for it and the taxi driver said no no no no no no no need to do that i'm perfectly safe and you don't have to take it to the seatbelt so so then and now this thought come up about do i want to offend the taxi driver by putting the seatbelt on and making him appear to be not a good driver or shall i put it on and be a bit safer now all these things just happen these and the witness but i still see it like it's dualism but it seems to help a bit anyway i put the seatbelt on and uh he was all right about it but it's quite interesting watching these conflicts go seeming conflicts go on and there's nobody i can see at that moment there's nobody choosing it a choice is made and in this particular case it went for the safety of the body um i'm not saying i see all this very clearly but i thought that was an amusing one um the other thing is something that happened recently was i don't know if other people get this i occasionally get a visual migraine nothing to do with um pain or anything but just this this jaggedy sort of thing going on and one appeared the other day and i was thinking somebody's team saying these are just appearances and that was a classic case of an appearance nothing there's absolutely nothing that i could see that i'd done or two i couldn't take credit for it and not that i want it there anyway and certainly i couldn't blame myself for it either and i thought wouldn't it be lovely wouldn't it be lovely if i could see it in the same way i could see it in the same way i could see it in the same way i could see it in the same way i could see it in the same way i could see it in the same way no by buying into all these thoughts that go on because that's usually when i would say in my case the sense of suffering comes about with if if i fall into loads of thinking and then it's just then i'm willing to dualism anyway i don't know if that helps but that's what came to mind thank you yeah thank you stephen yeah and it and example i think they're always helpful you know watching the mind watching the mind weighing options watching the mind and even like they were thinking you know without analyzing it without reflecting ah you know my mother always promote this my personality or archetype or this or you know but just noticing just registering oh oh interesting you know and and sometimes the mind will go into a rabbit hole and register in you know with no idea how to get it back across will you know with no idea how to get it back across that one too and i see we have a comment from facebook yeah yeah well it's it's stunning you know like like a decision or or you know to move into the taxi or or to put the belt on or not you know we we look at it like as at the final step where we we a thought says we i'll put it on or not put it on but we're not and not that we can we can't see the chemistry that's going on in in in the mind synapses of the final steps of the final steps and as you're coming through this you're getting the energy of the mind and the mind doesn't want to be put on as a place to do its own but that's the way it's going to change as you move into the mind and you're getting the energy of the mind firing, the foods being digested, like the genetic code that actually encrypted the body to act in a certain particular way, all the conditioning and the whole environment that has influenced that conditioning and the genetics and everything to make that movement happen in that way or the other way.
And then like, and one part of that whole appearance, I mean, we can't see the synapses occurring, but we can, in the appearance, there can be a thought. And the thought says, I did it, or I claimed it, or I shall do it, or I will do it, or I won't do it. And it's just such a minuscule thing of what's actually really going on. It's such a funny thing to attribute some sort of claim or that I am the highest power, my thought is the truth and the ultimate God in the universe. And me, myself and I, I am it. When I am that, but that is not the idea that I am that, that is the totality.
That is the sheer presence in itself in which all the appearances appear. And the witnessing of it, there's no position. There is no position. There is no fixed position that one, that, oh, this is the definition. There is no fixed position. There is no fixed position. There is no fixed position. There is no fixed position. There is the divine witness and now I can see everything in this particular. There's no such thing. That appearance and the way it appears can seem distant, can seem further, closer. The witnessing of it appears in infinite forms as well, because it's an appearance. There is no absolute position of supreme appearing where, oh, I'm viewing the whole of creation from this absolute position.
It's not like there's no one to be witnessing and the viewpoint is in movement as the whole show is. And I think that's really beautiful too because like there is no supreme state, there is no ultimate witnessing position, there is no absolute level of some sort of viewpoint or point to view from in which is the correct one or the supreme one or the enlightened one. Enlightenment is the lighting up of every viewpoint and every witnessing sort of perspective if you like. But I'm probably just talking shit. No, no, that's brilliant. That's actually perfect. It actually answers even the question, oh, you know, like I'm getting it but why am I still caught up?
Why am I still getting irritable at some points? Why am I still… or better, I'm getting it. Yes, I get the question asked because, you know, the content, the enlightenment, lead up to the presence, be present to the unfolding. Irritability, okay, welcome. Or whatever, offense, yeah, welcome, whatever. There's no one anywhere. And Prima Lee says, we have people on Facebook here. Hi, Kat, what do you think? Seems like more perceptions seen person become more himself what do you think it seems like more perception as seen person become more himself gosh i wish you were here primarily in a zoom and you clarify a question a little bit uh we almost done but we still have 10 minutes if you want to click that link on the on the on bob's website and clarify the question because i'm not quite sure what you mean you know do you mean that if there is more kind of noticing if there is more registering happening and and and this is kind of more impersonal registering like let's say the temperature is registered the breath is registered that the thinking is registered the the emotions everything is is being registered that means the person is more himself or perhaps there is less of a person perhaps there is more of kind of just cognizing emptiness being completely relaxed in that registering or is more of the solidifying that oh yeah this is my emotion this is my perception this is it could be uh interpreted in thousand ways oh wonderful oh fantastic and while she joins to possibly clarify the question and has commented it's funny how different the thought i am god can manifest if the me claims it cult leaders and murderers are formed if not then it's not no one claims it a form of love is set upon the world love it that's so beautifully put wow beautiful primarily would you like to unmute and and and clarify your question i'm curious yes yes so what i mean was uh like about myself i can give example so when i haven't seen these perceptions or whatever i thought everything is real and like lot of anxiety a lot of um going after things but what the more i see the perceptions i feel like i am doing more i don't know how to explain it so if i say normal language i am doing more what i want like i do what i what like i feel like i am enjoying life more I am doing things more and one yeah when somebody told me I mean I asked him whether there is a free will he said free will comes when you see this when you see the perceptionary world and perceptions when you got get free of perceptions your free will come out and I feel like that I mean I I feel like I mean I don't know I'm just asking you or your opinion I feel like I am doing things more and I always think about his answer when I ask that question I I said I said to him I it looks like there is no free will and then he said your free will come when you see this what do you think okay so there is definitely a huge discrepancy in the language for the starters because you know when you do more the illusion of doership is the illusion of free will I'm doing one more so the way and and does mean there's anything wrong in in the way it was presented it's just a different language and then if you see this then in the future you will be able to see that the future cannot be experienced free will will arrive for you and neither the future nor free will nor you can be experienced because it's not happening right now but what's actually valuable in that even in the language of presentation the more you notice you probably noticing what's happening presently the happier and lighter you are in life because you're noticing the mind you're noticing the mind you're noticing the future and you're noticing the feelings the sensations the perceptions you noticing what's happening presently so the more you are grounded in this present experience rather than living in the mind and waiting for the free will for me in the future that the more natural and happy and and light your life is that that's how it came across to me as well like it's it's like you're actually responding and say this is how you're watching the mind and seeing how it operates by observing the perceptions and and and noticing them happening in in the in the noticing there seems to be more more you know open up a sense of freedom but the whole point is that it's not happening to anyone you know it really it's just a happening yeah yeah it's not happening to anyone yes I agree yes it's not happening but at the same time as you as both of you said there is that freedom isn't it that happiness like not happiness happiness there is that sort of it's sort of freedom so in that freedom i don't know how to explain it in that freedom things happen maybe that's the reason in that freedom things happen without a lot of stress without thinking too much it just sort of don't care mood mm-hmm yeah yeah yeah cutting wood chopping the water or chopping the wood carrying the water it just happens because when you are attuned you know when the whole body mind machine is one with life is one with environment there is no narrative that is veiling that natural state maybe that you are naturally moved to cruise with life and then it is yes more satisfying for sure yeah yeah yeah that's it yeah yeah thank you thanks yeah thank you i got some more comments yeah jenny jenny says when nothing is wrong there is freedom beautiful yes that's it and steven would you like to unmute i like that um the comment naturally moved to was it cruise with life you know and i don't know if it fits and we've got from ali was saying but i think one of the things just comes about whatever it is even if it's just a reduction in in in suffering i think is the idea of just not taking thought seriously and that any of this of just observing what's going on however that's done or whatever it's this is is the boss thing about the word fire can't burn you the image of fire in the mind cannot burn you you know you can't drink a lake of water that you see in your mind you know you can't drink the word war all these things and then i not always but i i think over time there is a anybody who whatever level you keep out there there is this sense of cruising with life because whatever goes on in the mind maybe get caught up in it sometimes but it's nowhere like it used to be this is what i think is lovely um um i don't know if that's what from ali was getting at and then perhaps there is a more of a you know this talking about free will there is at least seems to be more choices i know it's still conditioned in all the rest of it but it's not like just a knee-jerk response that would go with a normal thought process um i'll give you an example yeah one example from years ago not myself but i i i saw there was an old friend of mine who i only vaguely knew and i knew his interesting cars and i wasn't very social so i thought i'm going to ask him about his car so i said i understand you've got a triumph whatever and he wheeled on me started swearing and everything like this and accusing me of thinking that he you know laughing at him because i thought he'd lost his license or something through drink driver nothing at all all i'm trying to do is a conversation and i'm trying to do is a conversation clearly in his case his mind threw up an image and threw up a thought and it was immediately believed so no free will or even even reflection on what might be happening in that case and i'm a starter and i said my initial thought was to run away you know but i thought i'd just try and calm him down and i managed to convince him that i was just asking about his car um anyway but the point is that i'm not going to be a i'm not going to be a i'm not going to be a a a a know there is a freshness and newness to that rewiring the mind rewiring the whole the whole processor as you say you know that seems to be more freedom seems to be more choices there seems to be you know that natural curiosity when it penetrates the whole dream it gives you that pause to see and then you can remain free even if you are cotton and and packed into a jail because that freedom is an internal quality it's not something that is conditioned upon location or identity or anything is that freedom of of pure existence that isn't doesn't have boundaries doesn't have you until the costume is assumed there is no space time distance size like you know it's timeless birthless bodiless mindless it's just here and it isn't even an it is just that reflection of existence i could say my existence but that existence doesn't belong to anyone because even the idea of my even the idea of only me is just everything i can do i can do anything i can do anything i can do anything i'm assuming even the idea of my limit and in the idea of only me and for every last rule of Alaska is just an appearance in that so the idea of self is arising appearing in that and the absence of the idea of self is equally valid as the presence of the idea of self is still just the content appearing in that in that registering in that beingness or knowingness or such it ananda whatever whatever resonates most such someone was joking i remember uh who was it wasn't michael someone um it was about amanda okay i think yes i think we can actually wrap it up and uh thank everyone hope heartedly for hanging out with us and exploring fun of existence and the joy of being and have a wonderful weekend and hopefully see you next week thank you everyone thank you lots of thank you all
