Thank you. Yeah, that's a good idea. Thanks. That will be easier to transfer to YouTube once recorded. Yes, so resting in the natural state, just like everything else in nature, resting in that state from which all the attention streams out and creates, because you can't really draw the line, you can't really divide that which is attended to. From the attending capacity. Same as you cannot divide that which is seen from the seeing capacity. If there is no seeing capacity, if there is no seeing, there's nothing seen, simple. If there is nothing to see, the capacity has not been utilized, so there's no seeing. Same with attending.
Whatever is experienced is happening because of the capacity for experiencing. And that's basically what the attending, what the attention is. Attention is moving from object to object, but that which is registering the movement of attention. Is prior to it, is prior to all the movement. And that's the natural state. That's when you see the cat resting. If it doesn't need to, cat or dog or any other creature in nature, if it doesn't need to... Oops.If it doesn't need to immediately attend to the survival of the vehicle, of the body-mind, it's just here. It's just here. It's just present. And we human creatures habituated constant entertainment, constantly being engaged.
We have a lot more of a processing power than some of the other creatures. And that processing power, instead of being at rest, available for whatever may appear in the immediacy, It is employed for the imagination, imagining past and future. And that's wonderful. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. However, as a byproduct of that imagination, bringing the cat? No. Oh, okay. As a byproduct of that imagination. Sorry, guys. So the byproduct of that imagination is imagining a separate self. It's imagining a doer. It's imagining that somewhere there here in the upper body, there exists a little person, a little me, a little entity, a persona.
Or ego or soul.or whatever name you want to give it, something separate that runs the show. And this is my life. And there inside that person has the capacity to do things, to think thoughts. And that is assumed. And that is how the whole show, the whole dream, the whole psychological suffering, the whole individual hero's journey run on. The assumption that there is a doer, there is a person that runs the show. And the person may run the show appropriately and achieve and show up for itself. But when the moment gets quiet, even that, even if you are on the top of the world, Even that gets a little bit shaky because it's not going to last.
Your brilliant intelligence is going to fade. Your absolute beauty is going to get wrinkled. Your wealth is going to get spent or is going to get lost. So nothing that this imagined self is relying on for its safety, adding, accumulating, amassing, making name for themselves, making fame, writing a memoir or producing children and grandchildren just so that the immortality dream is somehow preserved. All of that is really shaky. The foundation of that is really shaky. Because it is all going to be, it is all going to be.So even in a successful life story, one could say, temporarily successful, because it's all going to end the same way.
There are moments of pause when there is a natural existential angst. Where does it go to? Is that it? Is that all that the whole life has to offer? What's that for? So that existential angst, that chink in the armor, looking, is it really all that life has to offer? Following the guidance of the society and the culture and doing as I'm told, producing babies, making money, planting a tree. Building a house, making parents proud. And especially if everything is not that wonderful and you are not the American dream that build up everything from scratch, but you had painful experiences, heartbreaks, heartaches, things that you dreamed didn't come true.
Or you have health challenges and a pain of responsibility. I screwed my life. I should have chosen something else. I should have gone and studied something else. I should have picked different job, different partner. How am I going to live with myself if I wasted my potential? It is all the same narrative, all the same imposter syndrome, saying that I am the doer. I've done it right or I've done it wrong, but I've done it. And that never gets investigated. That's never really get questioned because everyone around you assume the same thing. Everyone around you will give you the advice how to do better. Or they will give you a tips to practice gratitude or ignore the problems.
Focus on the good side or subscribe to law of attraction, write the mantra or affirmations and it will all go right. You're still the doer. You just do it a little bit better. And then again, you may spend another couple of decades and a couple of dollars or a couple of dollars.of hundreds of thousands of dollars or whatever and back in the same place place of the intuition the instinct that hey there's something missing here there's something fundamentally wrong with this picture of chasing my tail of running in the rat race to achieve something that is missing obviously and hoping to get that in the future.
So those moments of intuition, those moments of pausing, of stopping and looking at this moment right now and perhaps checking. What is wrong? In the direct experience, if there is no storytelling going on, or even looking at the storytelling and checking and asking, what is that storyteller actually assuming and questioning those assumptions? If there is any attraction, somehow amongst that busy storytelling algorithm in the mind, if there is any attraction to actually look what's behind the story, What is, who is hearing the story? Who is on the receiving end? And who is creating those stories? Is there anybody home? Who's knowing it? Who's experiencing it?
And whether the story stays the same or whether the storychanges, any insight, any inquiry, looking at Just really experimenting with a different perception. And having enough curiosity. Enough curiosity to actually check what's behind that curtain, what's behind the projector. Is there anybody there? And if there is, who is it? What is it? If there is a me, being, you know, the whole dream is really an obsessing about getting more, becoming better. So who is to be improved? Who is to be beautified or added to? Is there anyone there? And if there is, who is it? Where is it? So looking at the projector itself, watching the mind, seeing how the mind functions, seeing how the mind creates the misery by imagining past and future, by imagining what is not happening.
It also creates joy this way. The very pleasant fantasies. That can be rewarding and that can be highly addictive too. The addiction to that entertainment system called mind, addiction to that constantly playing movies one after another. Oh, my daughter. Oh, my grandma. Oh, my this. Oh, my vacations. Oh, my food. Oh, my diet. Oh, my finances. Oh, my health. So many beautiful, entertaining movies to attend to. And to overlook that restful, restful natural state in which there is nothing wrong, which just is. And the presence, the aliveness, the wakefulness is shining of its own. There is nothing to attend. For most of the time. Again, we have the cat here demonstrating.
I don't know if you can see the cat. Probably not. Doesn't matter. She's here. So she's a demonstration of attention moving where it is required rather than being conditioned to follow every thread of thought, every noise in the machine, to hum every melody you hear on the tram or in the Uber, or generally just distract itself from that restful natural state, restful, relaxed natural state. This animal here, attention will be moved when it is required. How much attention in the human pattern is wasted completely down the drain? The processing power, attention wasted, it's not required for survival. What is it required for?making us miserable. Oh, she is taller than me.
Oh, he is promoted and I am not. Comparison, judgment, belief systems, attachment to the belief systems. All that wasted attention that comes into creating a misery. Going into engaging with that which is not happening. Oh, but I had it worse, you know, my pain is bigger than yours. Oh, but no one suffered the way I do. All that incredible, incredible amount of psychological suffering through that unquestioned engagement with that narrative software, with the mind, with the imagination. And again, I'll say again, it is a fantastic capacity. It's very useful. If that capacity serves the creation rather than blows the processing power into wasting the whole amazing capacity into creating suffering, psychological suffering.
And, you know, mind is to be like any supercomputer. It's to be celebrated and it's to be used in a wise way. But if you let it run the show, there he comes. So, and Bob and myself and all of us have been on the seeking spree, looking for the way out of being trapped in the cage of concepts, in the belief of being separate self, me being a little ego, little soul trapped in the body mind. How do I get out? How do I become one with the universe? How do I become open space of conscious awareness in which the body is just a microphone?
If the consciousness wants to speak, it dreams itself a body so it can speak. And it can see and hear and taste and touch and smell. How do I become that from being that imagined little mini me, little self somewhere there? How do I do it?Well, you can see the joke of a question. The I, the imagined I that wants to do something, that wants to become someone, that wants to be bigger rather than small, that wants to join with God or universe rather than stay separate in that cage. That I is a cartoon character. It's not real. It's never been real. It can't get out of the story.
It belongs in the story. It is an imagined, written character. But who is witnessing that character wanting to get out of the cage? Who is knowing? What is knowing? What is that awareness, that stillness, witnessing the attention move? The character is also the attention moving. I want to get out. I don't want to be here. I don't want to be trapped. I still feel like I am me. I still feel like I'm in the body. I still feel like I am not the whole universe. I am not the totality. How do I make myself feel differently? Wrong questions. Everything that is felt, that is experienced, is a phenomena.
The temperature, hot, cold, the feelings, pleasant, painful, contraction, expansion, they're all feelings happening in that cognizing emptiness, in that witnessing presence. But how do I get my feelings different? Again, wrong question. The presence, the life itself is experiencing itself through this particular feeling right now. Wanting to change that feeling is part of the landscape. The feeling of a hot or feeling of a cold appearing in consciousness. Wanting that feeling to be different appearing in the consciousness.appearance of the body in the consciousness appearance but i want to be something else i want to be enlightened and being enlightened meaning having endless ecstasy that is appearing in the in the consciousness Everything that is experienced is appearing in that cognizing emptiness, in the capacity for experiencing.
That capacity for experiencing is limitless. Can you postulate anything out of the capacity for the experiencing? The multiverse, the Milky Way, is appearing in the capacity for experiencing as a mental image. The death of your ancestors 600 years ago, appearing as a mental image in the capacity of experiencing. Can you postulate anything experienceable, perceivable or conceivable outside of that capacity? Obviously not. So everything appears in that. And can you separate yourself from that capacity? Can you draw the line where the capacity for experiencing that field, that whole expanded limitless capacity, is separate from you, where you begin and this ends.experiencing, being, knowing, loving to be, Sat Chit Ananda, omnipotence, omnipresence, omniscience.
Can you separate yourself at any point See what the separation is. See how the idea of being separated, of being inside the body, the image of the body, the story of the body, the image of the mind, also appears in that capacity for the experiencing. In the capacity for seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, smelling. It isn't separate. It can't be.The sense of separation comes later in the form of a mental activity. But you are prior to mental activity. You are here. Always here. You are the experiencing. You are the presence, the content of experiencing pain, pleasure, sadness, joy, seeking, finding, wanting, aversions, desires, all of that is what appears on the screen of pure being, pure experiencing, pure attending. But the screen is not touched by that which appears.
The field of attending and then the movement of attention. Think of the moon. Oh, now moon exists. Now I think of my mother. Oh, she exists now. Now I think of time and the time exists. Attending. But did it exist before the thought arise? What reality did it have? What reality does my mother have if I don't think about her?experientially because of course i can say well but and then the thought comes again the reality of thinking without the thinking in the capacity for the experiencing memory yes but that's a thought you can see how the whole multiverse is constructed through those channels of experiencing.
There is a pure capacity for the experiencing. And there is seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, smelling, and imagining or thinking. You can see that cat sitting next to Dean. She does not have the capacity to imagine. The processor is really small. See that? A little head, so she's always happy. Of course, there is this pleasure, you know, she's meowing, she always wants more food, she's a little glutton. But there is no misery, there is no psychological suffering if the food is limited. She'll get cuddles instead. But of course, there are cats that are homeless and hungry. There is discomfort, absolutely. There is pain. There is sickness.
There is dying. Animals die too. And that might be uncomfortable, although they may not know much about it. But there is no resistance. There is no idea that things should be, could be, or would be any different if.There is no idea that they are here and they are doing something wrong, they are missing something out. And they are responsible for their own misery. None of it. It's just whatever is unfolding. And it has to be unfolding. Through pain and pleasure, night and day, black and white, up and down, left and right. Otherwise, there is no appearance. Appearance has to be dualistic. And appearing is singular, only the content of appearing.
Is dualistic and is only dualistic for humans using symbolic language. It's not to say that the cat doesn't experience day and night and cold and hot. It does. But it doesn't separate them with words. It is always just this moment and what is. Unaltered, unmodified, uncorrected, unlabeled, uncompared, unjudged. So we have this incredible privilege to see the 10,000 things, to label the 10,000 things, to have the symbolic language, to label ourselves as the bodies, give ourselves a name and shape and form and live in the multiverse of the 10,000 dreams. What a wonderful display. But we also have the possibility to realize the dream for what it is.
Like Nisargadatta says, the dream is not your problem. Your problem is that you think that you are separate and you only want pleasure and not pain. You only want one part of it and not the other. Forget it. Leaving the dream is just field of experiencing, field of curiosity and openness.being on the same page with life, not objecting, not resisting, allowing everything to appear as it does. Because if I am life, what am I to object to? And if the objection comes, I as life don't object to that objection either. And what is wrong then? Oh, it's raining. Oh, I don't want it to be raining.
Okay, so that's the content of the landscape. The raining and not wanting to be raining. That is how this present moment, this omnipotence experiences itself right now. It's not raining. It's just an example. So it is really, really, it seems like there is a lot of convoluted words, a lot of poetic expressions, but it's really very, very, very simple. This cognitive capacity, this capacity for being present, alive, this ever fresh presence awareness, luminous, self-shining presence awareness, non-conceptual awareness, the pure experience. It's right here, right now. It is open. It's here. You can't separate yourself without the thought. Without the thought, there is nothing wrong. Without the thought, there is no problem anywhere.
I love that beautiful kitty out there on the screen. Oh, my goodness. Wow. That's a big cat. Wow. I'm going to have a quick look. Hi, Sarah. Sarah, you want to unmute and show us your kitty? Yes. This is Raymond. Oh, wow. And he's absolutely gorgeous. He's so soft. He just loves cuddles. And he, like when I was laying here one other time, he'd be right here up on my neck and he'd lay right close to me and just hug each other and then he'd put his head up against my head. Just such a beautiful cat. Wow. Wow. Yeah. He's pretty amazing. And he is in natural state.
He's got no update. I know. I know when you were saying about that, I was like, I know exactly what she means. Yep. I know what you're saying because sometimes I'll just look at him and I'm like, That's amazing. You're sitting there in silence and you're just enjoying.your life as it is without any noise, well, besides from them playing or whatever, but no noise, just living your best life, you know, and that's how simple our life can be. Yeah. And seeing it like with these pets and these cats or whatever, it just reminds me over and over again. And I recently actually picked up Bob's book that you have, Kat, that you gave me as a gift.
And I couldn't put it down. I felt like I just wanted to soak it all up. Yeah, but it really put me in a nice state of being. So, yeah. Hey, Dean. Hey, Sarah. Yeah, wow. Lovely, lovely to have you here with us. And I think we have someone else. John asked which book was it? Ah, the Trinity. The Trinity of Truth. It's the Trinity of Truth. Yeah, it's a biography, but it's not really just biography because I can't do anything without putting all the non-duality in it. So it is the story of Bob's life, which is one of the voices. The book is called Trinity of the Voices.
So there are three voices.Yeah, there's three different, yeah. Three completely different voices, absolutely. Completely different, yeah. And that's what I liked about it the most was the difference of it because here you think you open a book and there's all these chapters. But there's not. There's segments of explanations. So there's like the dream life, which is the state that we are in, but then there's the two other examples of what he's speaking to as truth from his perspective. And I'm like, poof. It's great. Wow, wow, that's wonderful to hear. Yes, the second voice is the voice of life itself. And this is the voice when I think of life, you know, I am that voice.
So I was the voice of narrator because, of course, I narrate Bob's story. I know Bob's story. I know it inside out. And I only put the fragments in it. I know a thousand other pages I could produce of little things of Bob's life. But it wasn't necessary. It wouldn't be relatable. But really, I am the life. I am the life experiencing itself through this body, looking through these eyes, hearing through these ears. So this is the story of Bob. Of course, it was life appearing as Bob. So that was life saying, I am this character as well. And then the third voice is actual words of.of him taken from his teachings.
So yeah, yeah. It's great. I really like it. It's wonderful. And it is also available in audio version, but the audio version is a little bit difficult because you have to log yourself into American Audible. They don't have... Yeah, it's easy enough if you know what to do. It doesn't cost extra. You don't need another account. If you buy a book and it's like $10 or whatever, the three different voices are speaking. But yeah, you got to change the marketplace to listen to the book. And then all of the Bob's books are. Unfortunately, that's, you know, until it gets unified, it's a little bit of a nuisance.
But it is actually pretty amazing how very few people read books today. And what a wonderful moment of actually becoming a cat. Becoming still, sitting on a sofa for an hour and really indulging in that motionlessness and absorbing the book the way the meditation works, rather than sitting and struggling with the frustration, oh, my mind is so active, channeling it into something that may be insightful. So I'm actually... Committed to read a little bit more too. It's not an easy thing today, you know, add something to it. I don't have anything. I'm just admiring that beautiful feline. Oh, I like how the feline's eyes match parts of your hair, Sarah.
Yeah. He keeps wanting to come and cuddle up more, as close as he can. Can't get close enough. Yeah. And I think from what I understand, the owner is in England. And it's the daughter of the place I'm house-sitting. And she bought this cat before she went overseas. And so now the cat's here at the house and the mum is looking after the cat most times. But, yeah, he's just... Loves hugs. It's great. And we have, Josh has the hand up. So would you like to jump in, Josh? Yeah, hi. Hi. Hey, Josh. How is everyone? Happy. Happy to be. How are you? Yes, I'm good.
I'm also happy to be. I guess, what should I do? I don't have a question, but just wanted to connect or just to kind ofAcknowledge. Everyone here. Say hey. So I've been having some interesting experience going on, experiencing going on lately. And yeah. And. Well, yeah, I realize I don't really have very much. I don't know what I can add. But anyway, it's like just. General feelings of disease or discomfort and feeling of powerlessness or inability to like, you know, knowing that there's something that you might be able to do to make yourself feel better, but not really knowing what that is or having any, like not really, Yeah.
I mean, right now it's like,Just pent up. Immersion around my heart. Breaking up Josh a little bit. Is it our internet or is it yours? It's a little... You're breaking up a little bit. Okay, it's probably my internet. Hang on up. Yeah. Okay, but what I heard what you're saying was that, you know, you're struggling with the powerlessness and wanting to do something about the discomfort and not knowing what it is. So you are frozen now. I don't even know if you can hear me. And I can hear you now. Okay. I just switched here to 14. You hear me? Yes, yes, yes. So the powerlessness, you know, and the idea that there is something that could be done, should be done, and the mind racing and trying to figure it out and nothing really delivers, that would be extremely frustrating.
But you see, at the same time, there is... There is a stillness in which that frustration is playing out. Can you actually just take a deep breath and breathe out and acknowledge that there is also somewhere on the bottom of the heart, there is apeaceful place in which even though all that frustration is going on and all that looking for solutions going on on the surface deep down you know you are the heart is beating you're breathing the body is in one piece You're not bleeding. It's okay. There is an inherent okayness underneath the frustration. Yeah, that's true. But I think breathing has a big part to play in this, actually, because I think it might just be a lack of...
It might just be that I just need to take some deep breaths, but I have congestion in my sinus area, so it seems that I'm not maybe doing enough breathing. It might just be a really simple thing like that, you know. It might be, you know, like listen to the still small voice from the place of peace, because if you are panicky. And this, you know, finding solutions and hanging on to the solutions. Oh, if this will change, I'll be okay. Then this will change, it will be okay. First, find out that you are okay, even if your sinuses are blocked. And then from that place of okayness, of relaxed stillness, then...
It's a different quality of solutions that comes up from love of, you know, like optimal functioning, love of life, rather than from the sense of distress. Yeah, it's just in the moment when this recognition of this trouble I'm having. arises, it's almost as though it's like I'm stuck in something.Yeah, the desire to just get out, the desire to just go. See, but that's a thought, you know? I'm stuck and I have to get out. That's a thought. When you don't think that thought, where are you stuck? You're always here. You're never going to get out of here. But what is wrong in being here? Yeah, and people pay a lot of money to be on retreats and stuff.
You know, I can just use it like that. Just find a place that, you know, instead of I am stuck here. You can find where you are here and that's fine. That's okay. That's peaceful. That's safe. Here is home. Here has no boundaries. If the here is, ah, I mean my body or I mean my mind. Yes, that feels like prison. But if here doesn't have any boundaries, any definition.Yeah. Yeah, it's like that thing that you don't notice. You know, you don't know what you've got until it's gone. I think that's interesting because we take things for granted, you know. I think that's part of it.
We've been just like normalised or downgrade or... Or something you've got because you're not realizing how actually amazing yeah you'll be breaking up a little bit again see but there is there is another aspect of that really wanting to have it figured out really wanting to know if you actually completely surrender to that here and surrender all need to have it figure out. Yeah. Not needing to know anything whatsoever. I don't know who I am. I don't know where I am. I don't know what's my next thought going to be. I don't know where I'm going to be tomorrow. I don't know absolutely anything. And the mind that is just, you know, that illusion of control that is running havoc to have all the answers and have it all figured out.
Just relax.in the not knowing in this moment just like this cat the cat doesn't know any of it and that's why it is happy it doesn't need to know it doesn't have to know whatever you need to know in a moment will present itself yeah you don't need to know that you need to take the next breath and yet It happens. Yeah. Well, it's interesting you bring that up because that's kind of what I'm finding is, oh, I actually have to be conscious because the breathing, I mean, it's happening automatically, but it's alsoSo like quite shallow. So to be aware of the breath, like after, okay, I have to breathe deeply, right?
Don't even have to contrive the breathing or fix it or change it. If you are just here, just present, and then noticing of the breath happens. Then in that noticing, the correction also happens. You don't even have to do it. Because life always, it is an energy. It's a movement of energy. The whole field of attention is energy, experiencing. Everything is energy. Like it's a potential energy when it's not actualized. And it's the energy, you can call it intelligence energy. Bob liked to call it intelligence energy. But it's energy nonetheless. So the energy always looks for the optimal state. If you think of a running water, it will find the place where it is the most energy efficient, where it doesn't...
I actually have a question about that. Sorry, is it all right if I keep going? Go on, go on. Because I mean, it seems like efficiency is like, at least here, one of those things that's been sought after, you know, optimizing and efficiency and that kind of thing. And then, you know, upon going to India, rather than efficiency being theI don't know where that comes from. It's like, is it something? Is it like, does it have this quality of security? I don't really know how to tell what. I mean, Like a lot of stuff you could say, well, it's maybe equivalent stuff on either side.
I don't really think about it. It's just something random that came up yesterday. Okay, so look, see that it is already optimizing itself with every moment. Look at the bird flying in the sky. It doesn't understand any of it. And yet, every time it flies, every time the wind changes, it is optimizing its flight. It is optimizing its eyesight. It is optimizing its attention. Human mind and the human body is also learning, optimizing, adding to the database of experiencing. When the mind is crazy and is running over speed. That one also gets optimized. But sometimes it creates the crisis and it gets worse before it blows the fuses.
And then again, even that is a learning process, is the machine learning. The whole machine is experimenting, is learning, leaving it as it is. And being the presence, being the witnessing, being the curious, open field of awareness is the course of action that is.non-action that cannot go wrong because what is happening then, some of that energy field that is engaged in crazy overthinking or whatever, relaxes back into the natural state. So now the mind has less power to waste, even if it goes dysregulated, goes money, it's over worries. And let's face it, every mind is like that. Unless there is enough of that natural state, relaxed, free attention, released from the overthinking, to be present, to be in that witnessing, the free attention, here, grounded in the here, in the seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, smelling.
So can't go wrong with that. This is the optimization of energy. Just breathe in. Breathe that thought out. Wow, I'm here. Oh, oh, sky, sounds. Oh, okay. This is not going to happen if you have bear chasing you and you run. Don't worry about that. This is again, the machine is optimized to not spend free attention on smelling roses when the life is threatened. But it is self-regulating. But whenever there is no life-threatening situation, the mind will tell you, oh, it is going on the time. You know, that's what the mind does. It worries.creates the, you know, I can tell you of people who are constantly obsessing about the conspiracy theories and they believe it to be true and they, you know, they, they, Believing the mind is the real madness, the only madness, because you are prior to mind.
You weren't born identified as your mind. You were born free, open space of curious, alert, awareness, attention, looking out of that little machine that is converting pure being into seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, smelling. Little baby is open, free, curious, and is learning. Only through the conditioning, the identification as the mind or as the body has been installed in that machine. Before it wasn't there. And now as you see how that program took place, releasing enough attention to see the software. Rather than to be the software. It's enough of a solution. Mind will never lose any of its power through it. Well, it may get less mad because of the energy.
If the energy gets, you know, unplugged and is free for seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, smelling and delighting in being. Then of course that energy doesn't go wasted, doesn't go spent.for any sort of manic states or crazy worries and dramas. So relaxation is the way. Trusting life, you know, it is beating your heart. Yeah. Trusting the next breath is in you also. And distrusting the mind because you are not your mind. Mind is supposed to be advisor, not the master. And it's supposed to be advising when it's explicitly asked to. When you give it an equation to solve, that's when you employ it. But when the mind takes a charge, I remember Dean was explaining me the situation with the, he used to train dogs and he knows a lot about their cycles and the way they function.
And, you know, when the dog has to run a pack of humans. You know, my God, this poor dog is overwhelmed, overworked, often aggressive. It is not happy. This is not a happy dog. And the mind is a little bit like that. Suddenly you put this little biocomputer to be an alpha dog, to be an alpha male and run the whole show. And it is supposed to serve. Dog is.happy when he when the dog he or she knows the masters when it's explicitly and clearly explained what is his place and what is his role And Dean used to have very, very happy dogs and he used to help people train dogs because the capacity for happiness that the mind and the dog has when it takes its rightful place, rather than when it takes a role that is completely not cut out for it.
It's overwhelming for it. Don't let your mind run the show. Make it a servant. Don't trust it. Don't let it tell you who you are. Don't let it tell you what's important. Don't let it tell you what is wrong. Don't let it tell you anything at all. Relax, look around, oh, heart is beating, oh, sun is shining, oh, be a curious childlike discoverer of what is happening. And then the mind will maybe hum a nice sweet melody in the background. And you may want to listen or not, but it is not up to the mind to run the show. It's not up to that poor puppy dog to manage the whole family and their stresses and everything.
Yeah.Yeah, I mean, it is interesting what you say, Kat, about the mind being this, well, just this kind of entity that we should have, I don't think control necessarily, but we have to make that our service rather than let it be our master. And it's interesting because the mind... Well, it doesn't actually know anything and it makes like it does, you know. That's it. And it says this is what's true and this is what's false and you have to believe this and this is what you are and what I am. None of it's really real. That's it. That's it. That's a good point, Josh, because
You know, dog is sentient.
Yeah. Mind is not. Yeah. It's a set of algorithms. Like AI is not sentient. It can tell you to, you know, like, oh, yeah, you have shopping to do. It can remind you. It can whatever, do whatever you train it to do. And the mind is also a tool. It isn't entirely sentient, though this is also approximation because everything is made of the same energy, which is the sentience. But it isn't. It is an algorithm. It's like you could say heart is sentient and that's not incorrect, though you can replace it with the steel and glass and it will still work. You can say the steel and glass heart is also sentient or artificial kidneys are sentient or joined.
But dog is much, much, much more complex as a whole energy transformer, taking the food and being a live sentient being. Yeah. Than the human. But it's, yeah, it's really weird, actually, that the way that, you know, I studied biology at university. And I mean, I guess what you're saying about it all being kind of this mechanical process is not. Like, I mean, it is backed up by kind of how biology works. So it's like so complex. It's like so highly complex.Like what I mean is like DNA, right? It's code. It's like a base two or base four code. So in the same way we use binary for computers, zeros and ones, we've got A, T, C, and G.
For DNA. And it's just, it's like, Wow, that is fascinating, actually, the fact that we can write code for creating like a human or any life form that we're aware of at this time. Sorry, I'm not playing. Yeah, yeah, don't go too much to the mind with that. Yeah. You know, there are no shortcuts, right? There are some folks get into, let's say, spirituality. Looking for ways to manipulate code. Develop powers, Sidhis, as a shortcut. That is a dog pretending to be a magician. I mean, yeah, it's pretty obvious that that kind of stuff doesn't get you. Yeah. Well, I mean, maybe it does. And that's, you know. It's still, it's all, obviously, it's still thought-based.
When a lot of attention and belief goes into that, searching for shortcuts. You know, that's an unhappy dog. Fundamentally. Or the optimization process. Well, yeah, I can't do anything about it. Yeah. Yeah. You know what I'm talking about there, right? You know, folks. So, you know, you come across every now and then sort of so-called seekers who are really interested in the occult and powers and, you know, thoughts come that this is a way of... Making good if only I could control this or control that, blah, blah, blah. That's messy stuff. And better off seeing through all of it, seeing through all of that.that all agendas, agendas.
And again, it's just fundamentally loving to be right. Looking for ways to feel good all the time. That's the trouble because there's no such thing. As Kat said, the dream is all duality. You only know what feels great by comparison to something else.Attention is the world. The world is attention. There's nothing happens outside of that. I really like what you said, actually, because being in and of itself, for me personally, is flow. It is hard to describe with words because how it feels in being in your body. And one time, I won't go into too much, but when I went to Bali and I came back, I felt like I was in this state of being so much in flow that I would lay in the sun.
And I was inside the house at the time and I was like just laying in the sun and I'm like, I'll just touch the leaf and I'll order the plants, you know, in the house or, you know, and it was just, no, there was really no, thinking it was it was literally like so much flow was happening and um and it was incredible and because i have known what that isin that space. I know what exists for me. And. And, yeah, I just love it so much. Like I would literally sit in nature and not do anything with no stories and nowhere to be. I would literally just sit just like a tree would sit with nowhere to be and just the changing of the seasons with no arguments.
With no discomforts and seeing life pass by or rivers of the water just pass by in the stream and the birds just flying around, just enjoying everything that we can see in those moments and those pieces because we are here to enjoy and breathe in life um yeah there's just so much to and that's it you actually you portrayed it perfectly that's it just you know and in the same way as you are sitting and just being present to whatever appears you know the birds flying the clouds moving through the sky the river moving the wind moving the branches the thoughts are also flying throughthe mind because the mind is secreting thoughts just the same way as the you know the liver is secreting some stomach is secreting acids and the skin secreting sweat it all works of its own no one does a thing and you are that openness that presence seeing oh even oh thought oh the song playing through the head wow wow just sitting in that relaxed state like this beautiful raymond mr raymond and it's just releasing out why not the problem that we have is just that some thoughts contain the word i And then all the systems in the whole biocomputer flash the red flags and the lights.
Oh, this is important. This is about me. This is serious. Oh, my God, this is serious. This is about me. I'm too little or too small or too big or too weak or too fat or too thin or too. And the stress kicks in. But if you can really just stay back, be the nature which you already are. And let that leaf fall, let that cloud pass, and even the thought-containing eye just cause you to smile or laugh. I'm not going to be trapped with that bullshit. Pull up something better now. There's no work anymore. Yeah, exactly. So addicted to the self-center. But the self-center is here.
It's not the idea of I, of a little monster living somewhere there to worry all the time. It's no one there. And a lot of the time, like with those thoughts that come up and how Joshua was saying, you know, in the turmoil of thoughts, of processing all these things, and sometimes that will happen. But we need to just be kind to ourselves when they do because it is not something that, you know, is going to last. It is something that's just going to make its way through our body. Yeah. You know, so those sorts of mentalities, and I have struggles throughout my lifetime of having these, you know, mental attacks and things and depression, anxiety, all these, you know, whirlwinds.
But through breath and slowing myself down has given me such immense peace. I'm starting to get a bit teary. Oh, beautiful. Yeah. And it's, I think, with just, I don't know how to describe it, I don't know if, Josh, you do anything to help with those sorts of things, but just using...For me personally, using your breath is a great way to come back to self. And I say words and I'm like, it's not even self. But being in the energy, it is your energy. It is yours. All of it's yours. And so enjoy the energy that you have been gifted and that you have now.
And yeah, I just keep basking in it now. That's it. Yeah, that's the thing. Demonstrate. See, this is how it's done. And this way, your whole body-mind machine is trained for that relaxed natural state until it becomes a default. Rather than default being constant worry, projection, past, future, this, what about this, what about that, oh, what do they think of me, oh my God, they'll reject me. That is the default for most people. And that's why we have the world of wars and famine and competition and pain and suffering. Rather than just a natural state, basking. And lightness of being. Yeah, and the demonstration, that's really, that's,Because when this is radiating out of your eyes, people will come to you and ask, okay, what is it?
How do you do that? Coach me, guide me, show me. And this is the way non-duality invites. It doesn't preach. It doesn't teach. It doesn't walk from door to door like Jehovah Witness. I'll give you the truth. It shines in its own example. And the light that is like a lighthouse, it attracts. You don't have to convince anybody. No. Or anything like you said the jehovah witness knock on your door and bludgeon you with the truth with so-called truth it's nothing to sell it's not selling nothing to be sold yeah and it's nothing to give there is nothing that anyone is missing or lacking right now it is residing with within no within no without as as you as you said sarah you know it's you call itself but it's really not even that it's here is that natural state as in nature you are the nature everything that you are is a nature it's only the thought that tells you know you are a fragment of the world isolated encapsulated in that cage of body or concepts that's just a thought youRelax that thought.
Just stay present. And direct experience says none of it. Direct experience says, oh, there is the whole field of experiencing. And the seeing, the hearing, the tasting, the touching, the smelling right here. Wow. And the world, the whole universe arises within that. And then the thought comes of the past. That's the universe arising within that also. And a thought comes of the future another multiverse arising within that here that i am i am the world i am the universe but that sounds like grandiosity But really, I am here. I don't know what I am because the universe is constantly changing and I'm not changing. I'm always here.
So this is where the Nisargadatta squad comes when he says, I am nothing. This is wisdom. And I am everything. This is love. Because as nothing, I'm just here. Not a thing. Not a singular thing. I'm not this body. I'm not this thought. I'm not this moment. I'm nothing. No thing. But the expression of it is the pure potentiality. Every reflection. Every single thing. Me, the potentiality. The pure potentiality. The Shiva. Expressing itself as this whole multiverse right now in this i am the everything because i shivaExpress myself. This is a reflection of who I am, of what I am. The emptiness becoming a form for the fleeting moment, but never stopping to be emptiness.
Because this is a phenomena. It is only an appearance. It is only a flickering dream. But this is how I know myself. I look and wow, the whole world. And next moment, woof, and I hear the whole world, the pure consciousness knowing its own existence. Through that incredible richness of experiencing. And yet, always here, untouched, I'm not the content. And yet, I'm not not the content because nothing is excluded. The beauty of non-duality being completely beyond words, but so easy and so directly experienceable. Because the moment the mind rests a little bit and... Yeah, right. Of course. Yes, I'm here. Anyone argue? Anyone can stop being here?
Anyone can try and not be? Not going to work. Oh, yeah, all right. Yeah, yeah. That's not a belief. That's an experience. That's the truth. It's not like, okay, I'll subscribe and now from now on I'll believe and worship them. No.It's right here. It's not that something that you can achieve if you try hard enough and meditate thousands of hours is already here, is directly known, is recognizable. And in that, you can see the changing phenomena in the presence that you are in this moment here. The world comes, goes, the past, the future comes, goes as thought, as mental image. Isn't that your experience? Of course it is.
Of course. So this is what is called the self-realization. Realization that everything is that self and is happening right here.Past is happening here. Where is it? When I think of yesterday's dinner, right here. It's happening as a mental image of right here. Where is it physically? Nowhere to be found. Nowhere to be found. The thought of future in 10 years, where is it? Nowhere to be found. Everything that is happening in the timelessness, in the eternity of now, always here. That sounds like a very, very difficult philosophical concept. Trash the concepts. Look at the direct experience. In the direct experience. All the past trauma, childhood, school experiences, heartbreaks, heartaches, all of them are just a thought.
Right now, not yesterday, not 10 years ago, right now, their memories, right now. The mind, of course, and it's a brilliant machine. It creates the timeline and it stretches out that whole multiverse so it gets even richer and even deeper. And the attention going into the event 10 years ago, suddenly that attention creates that event. The attention is the life-giving force of the universe. That's the creative power of that universe that I am.Suddenly it becomes like a fractal. The more attention, the more details. And if there are gaps in so-called memory, this is the brilliant improviser. It will straight away fill the gaps. And if there is nothing to remember, well, it will make it up.
Go and get yourself past life experiences. Oh, how many? 20, 30. Woo! The processor is happy. Yes, I can do anything. I can imagine thousand lives, million lives. Buddha says every living creature, every sentient being has been your father and your mother. And your daughter and your son this incredibly creative projector it can create any worlds any science fictions any past lives future lives any connections any religions any conspiracies anything and everything but where is it now It is a mental image. Yesterday is a mental image. Tomorrow is a mental image. The eternity is now. The life, the aliveness is now. Come on. We didn't hear you today.
Come on. Josh is saying we might be going. He's saying goodbye. His battery's about to run out. Oh, yeah. Okay. And there's a comment. That's okay, Dean. You can say something. There's a couple of comments. I want to listen to what you have to say in a few minutes. I'm on 2%. Oh, you're muted now, Josh.Okay, well, thank you all. Love you all. I have an unconditional love and thought for all of you. And blessings. Thank you. Thank you, Josh. We can barely hear you, I think, breaking up. But yes, be well. Okay, thanks. Same to you. Yeah. Greed. Okay. Lots of love. And we have a couple of comments here.
Giotti says, good morning. Oh, and Anthony says, it is so simple, almost like going around in a circle. But when you get back to where you were, you see the beauty because you're open to it. And Ben says, chill the fuck out, Kat. Right here, right now. Got it. Just joining in. Oh, my goodness. No mind. Thank you, Ben. Yes, chill the fuck out. That's the prescription. Although there isn't really any prescription. Even easier it would be to say rather than chill out is find out, like look and see that there is an element, there is a base that is always already chilled. Is always alreadyStill and absolutely peaceful.
Come on. I don't have anything to say. I guess, all right. So there's a meeting today, which is non-duality. And so this is, you know, yeah, this is like one thing going on. There's only one thing. There's only one show, and it is everything. It's everything is that show. So if... You know, it appears as though, oh, power just turned off. Oh, did I do something? Yeah, something just happened. Yeah. Okay. Oh, you're there. Sorry, we had a little glitch in the matrix. Yeah, it could have just been the monitor. Okay. Okay. So one thing going on. Yeah. Like, look, there's a lot of, and it appears as though I'm speaking to you and you're listening and this is like you're on the screen and there's a phone and there's this and there's that.
But there's actually one thing going on. So it's like. These words are like your words. There's only one, as is one thing, it's one thing speaking words to itself. There's energy appearing in a million different ways and forms. So it's this one thing. It's Dean speaking to someone else, someone listening. It's really not like that. It's one consciousness speaking to itself as itself through all these different little means. So when we think that we are getting it or we are understanding it or we have got some way of, we don't know how it's actually working. The conditioning is getting updated every second. There's transmissions and some things will happen and block the mind from using its old patterns.
And some little thing, it's like consciousness hearing itself, seeing itself, knowing itself as itself, recognizing itself. And then boom, all that thinking, all the belief in ideas, belief in my thoughts to be me, all start crumbling down. You know, to imagine there's a better practice or a better system or a better way that me can get it. I wanted to tell Josh who was speaking earlier, you know, like there's some really bad news for him and the bad news is that he's fucked. And there's some even worse bad news and the other worst bad news is that everyone's fucked, but there's some really, really good news and that there is no one, there is no Josh and or anyone else because it's that one thing. So the good news
trumps all that bad news because that's it.
That's the whole show, the whole caboodle, the whole thing is that one essence. And it doesn't really matter if you're experiencing it or not because Because that's the expression. Whatever's appearing is the appearance is that too. And all parts of that appearance are all part of the expression. Appearing to that one as that one through that infinite way of expressing itself. And whether that's convoluted, whether that's suffering, whether that's ideas are going to improve and change and get better. And all these things are still part of that same bubble universe, that same bubble of, you know, and. And, you know, you said this Agadatta quote at the start, like, you know, he said, love all of it or none of it.
And then he finishes off by saying, love all of it or none of it, and then shut the fuck up. He doesn't say that, but he should have, you know. He actually does. He says, and the rest will be done for you. Because the rest will be done for you. Forget it. And that is so like the seeking or the thriving or like if, you know, Joshua was here listening, it's wonderful to know that you actually, there is nothing to actually do. There's nothing you can do because that volition of that me, that's.is really non-existent, like that idea of that separate person is non-existent. So life is presenting decisions, life is presenting the idea of choices and movement and improvements and strategies and life's doing all of it.
And it always has done that and it will always do that. It's a dream. It's an illusion. And in that illusion, the dream seems to have these rules of like choice and of time and of space and dimensionality and of a separate individual. Like it's all part of the appearance. Appearing to be a compelling story of truth or reality. And it is real, you know, you talked about the SIDU powers and manipulate, you know, trying to get something and prove something and change something and fix something. There's actually no worry about any of that. There's no concern because life is orchestrating every iota of it, every little bit of it.
So if that message actually lands from itself to itself as itself, then relaxation is absolutely natural. It can't be other than that because it's like, wow, life's doing the whole thing. Life's always doing that whole thing. Life's always done that whole thing. And always and will be and all these words are like it's it's.All these always and will be's are now, are absolutely immediate. And that is like, like for consciousness as itself, listening to itself, experiencing itself, being itself, hearing itself, recognizing itself, all it can do left is celebrate itself, celebrate its own existence, celebrate its own sense of like, back to the very start, like the sense of presence, the aliveness itself.
Wow. What a show. What a celebration. What a, what a, what, you know,Empty space. Empty space. Talking to empty space. Yes, yes. And it's all just, it's pure love. Yeah, yeah. Love of being. Yeah. Empty space. Talking to empty space. Amazing. Yeah. And yet. Cognising. Here we are. Always here. Always here. And that cognising is like everything, you know, the knowing, this knowing is not like some knowing of learning, of cognition in the term that we know it. It's everything is known. So this appearance, this dreamlike manifestation is... Is known. Like you don't have to know what some, a baby looks at the world, it doesn't know what anything is labelled as.
It just, but there's a knowing of all the objects in it. You know, it can sense, it can feel, it can touch, but it has no concept. Words haven't been discovered or learnt. So it's experiencing, it's knowing, yet it cannot tell you anything about what it knows. It doesn't even know a word to describe, it hasn't learnt a word and eventually the poor bugger is going to learn a word and is going to start to believing that word to be the truth and then there's going to be a lot of trouble. A lot of psychological suffering is going to build on those words. And the good news is they are just words.
And, you know. It's only temporary. Yes. Bugger is going to die in 100 years anyway. If it's lucky to get that far, yeah. Or unlucky, you know. Yeah. Luck and bad luck and this is good luck and this is bad luck. And wow, you know, nothing is either good or bad, but thinking makes it so. It's like so, it's so profound. Like, you know, these simple points. So some of this consciousness speaking to itself as itself, that's what the pointers are all about. Like it's like it's, it's, it's. It's like its oneness is pointing to itself, showing itself. It's not like Bob has some higher place come up and given some godly advice to tell you that you can recognize something bigger.
It's much more intimate than that. It's itself speaking to itself as itself. So Bob is you. The pointer is you. The recognition of the pointer is you. Like everything is you appearing in all these different, this array of colors, the kaleidoscope of vibrations, of energy, of colors, of sound, and they're all moving, like, and all appearing. And even in that movement, it's appearing to make this time, this dimension of time and space. But it's all absolutely immediate. It's closer than now. Like, now doesn't capture it. Now actually distorts it, because now sort of implies.I suppose there was a before and an after. And now I'm in the moment.
Now I'm now. No, you cannot get out of the now. There is, it's so incredibly immediate. And everyone, without exception, is living in that now. Whether they believe it or not, it doesn't make a difference. Because a belief or a disbelief is still appearing immediately. And so this is the fun of these kind of messages and the play that we're all sharing because it's, you know, like you can't fuck it up. You can't make a mistake. You can't get it wrong. You can't, you can, like, but there may be seeking that continues or there may be psychological suffering that, you know, may persist. And if that's so, like...
Keep relaxing. Yeah, yeah. Like this message can expose it all and some investigation, some looking. But all these things, this isn't a prescription or a teaching or a way of telling someone what they need to do. That's already, you know, those kind of statements are implying that there's a teacher and a student or that there's a lesson and someone who's going to get a lesson. And, you know, it's already implying separation. So I just, you know, wanted to share that little bit. Tell it, share that how easy and simple and not to worry. And listening to this is the fun, is the game, is the itself being itself as itself, showing itself, exposing itself, teasing out little threads of itself.
And enjoy yourself as itself, as this oneself. 12 o'clock. Yeah, I'm going to just, because I have a couple of comments here. I think there is one comment here on the screen. It says, I am Dean, laughing out loud, says Sarah. And thank you so much. Beautiful. That's from John. We didn't hear you, John, today. Hopefully, we're going to hear you next time. And we have... Who's Dean says, ask Benjamin. And also Anthony says here. Oh, no, that's actually more. Oh, that's a lot of. OK, so. You are nailing it, says Ben, and totally. Even the sense of Josh may or may not be fact.
Plus, either way, that's okay. Liking this Josh character, by the way. I'm so loving Josh. Poor two and a half year old motherfucker. Boof. Anthony says, a good speaker never has anything to say. Like the king that doesn't want to be a king. Laughing out loud. Always good to hear you, Dean. Good night and love. Good night, you lovely people. People, quote unquote. Thank you, Anthony. That's so sweet.so much says ben and who's dean your excitement is palpable yeah thank you and uh actually if any if any of you ever feel moved to join us on our evening zooms there is more sessions and anyone who is on facebook also welcome to click that link sometimes what we do we actually because you know the main objective is to recognize what is already so to recognize that you already are that open field of inseparable consciousness inseparable here now it's only the mind that tells you otherwise so the last few sessions i was throwing questions at people and participants of the zooms were answering questions just to show themselves that the basic understanding is already clear is already known but actually allowing yourself to voice it to hear it in your own voice, to hear it processed through your own body-mind machine, is actually much more effective than coming up with your mind, asking questions, getting answers, believing the answers or discarding the answers.
I have tons of questions and I have quite remarkable results. And Bob was also very much for it, for people sharing their own clarity and understanding to show how normal, how natural, how easy, how simple it is. It's not a philosophy that needs years of practice to find out and install. It is already pre-installed.It's just obscured by the narrative algorithm that can simply be recognized for what it is, seen from the distance, not necessarily employed as that poor little puppy dog that has to run a show of a household of human and be overwhelmed and suffer. But just know its place. And I think that's that, you know, like see the cats, you know, they actually run the show, but they're quite comfortable with it.
They're not overwhelmed. But dogs generally like to know their place in the hierarchy. So let's put that mind in its rightful place. From the realization of the presence that is prior to it. And that's that. A lot of love and thank you for hanging out with us and having all the cats in there. And see us next time. Bye.
