Good theme. And Dino. And we're good. Bob and girls.I don't know if I should start from it. If there's anyone from around, from Melbourne and around who's watching us, it is only five days since a year anniversary of passing of Bob. And we were thinking that if anyone wants to join us for a little ceremony of scattering ashes from the boat like the sailors would and the boat trip is like $20 each way to Port Allington which is the place that we went for our So it is a memorable sort of a little thing and it's a nice cruise through the bay, it's not very choppy but you can still feel the sea, the wind and just get together and remember little anecdotes.
He would hate to be worshipped as a messenger but he would love to be worshipped as a friend, a beautiful friend he was still. So I put the Facebook event information and if anyone cares to join, wonderful. If not, just be a few people. Friday 6th. What? Ah, the boat leaves at 9. Actually 9.30 but you gotta be there at 9. We can have a handful of ashes left for like a week later. Chuck it off the pier for those who can't do, don't want to do. Anyway, that would be options. So that's that. That's just the entry information. So we don't forget. We had to wait till the last minute with that because we had 40 degrees heat waves.
We don't want anyone exposed to that, especially that it's going to be like four hours kill in Port Alington before the return boat. So we can hang out around picnic tables, have lunch, coffee, desserts, whatever. And yeah, so that's that. Now back to the message. I'll just take this off. And just make sure it's...I don't have to repeat all that, do I? No. Okay. Yes, so back to the message. The basics, pure presence, just as it is right now, just as it is experienced, something that's never not here. Always accessible. You could just take a breath, feel how it just lands in the body, lands in the heart, which is present.
You can't feel your body yesterday or tomorrow. You can't feel your breath in the future or the past. It's just here. It's always here. And coming back to that basic, basic presence, to that lightness of existence, out of the constant chatter of the mind, into that which is really happening. And not only delightful, because what problem can you ever have? If you don't think about it what worry can you ever have without the thought it's only the current breath it's the current heartbeat the senses the hearing the seeing the tasting the touching effortless even if there is discomfort It's just a vibrating pattern.that we call discomfort, but it's presently happening.
So that's always here. Doesn't have to be found. Doesn't have to be sought. Doesn't have to be achieved. There is nothing to become. There is no one to become or find it or achieve it. Because it's never not here. For anything to happen, that presence here always has to be there first, and it always is. Whenever you look, you are.And that miracle of existence, that joy of existence, that joy of being, that is-ness, so overlooked, so underestimated, so radiant and beautiful, and yet traded for thought, traded for the nightmare. Of what's wrong with me, what's wrong with the world. I have not enough control over people, places or situations.
I should be more loved or understood or more powerful or more... Those stories that cover completely cloud the radiant miracle of existence. And everyone is absolutely innocent of that. Nobody chooses to trade unborn Buddha mind for the thought. It is completely natural, preconditioned functioning, just like the natural preconditioned functioning is digestion or any other activity in the body. It's just happening of its own. The chatter, the narration, the translation, the meaning making, it just happens. But it doesn't have to cover up the shining radiance of existence. It can be the element of the landscape. It doesn't need to be directly, completely, exclusively focused on and fed with that life-giving attention to the point in which you forget.
That this is just a content, this is just a minute pattern in the landscape. And seeing is still happening, and the hearing is happening, and the breathing is happening. Also, And then you can enjoy the dream. You can appreciate the worry. You can see what's behind it. It's always love of being. Behind every thought, behind every, even guilt, shame, remorse, all of it, all the labels, all the emotional turmoils.are expression of that love of being, that loving care which wishes oneself peace and love and freedom and joy. But what happens because of the conditioning, because the way the body came into that dream and learned from the environment by imitation over generations just learned to always narrate interpret and comment that program became so solid and so overwhelming and so overcasting everything that at some point the consciousness of what's happening just didn't really didn't get much of a chance to shine the clouds the clouds of thinking but it doesn't mean the sun is not behind them it is still thereSo just acknowledging that aliveness, that existence in every situation, behind every drama, just resting, taking a breath and being assured that there's nothing wrong unless you think.
The existence is still here and that breath takes you back to this body, to the mind, through, out of the mind, in the heart, in the presence. Where there is nothing wrong. And the moment of respite, the moment of relaxation, the moment of remembering,And that gets anchored too. That gets more prominent. The more the heart resonates with that peace, with that love of being, that joy, the more it has the chance to even tune in. The more naturally it rewires the whole programming. Once you taste the nectar, you don't want that. And of course, there is no one to want it or not want it.
It is also happening organically. It is also life playing the divine game with itself. It is life hiding in the role and enjoying the forgetting, because without it, the remembering wouldn't be available. Without embracing the darkness, you can't appreciate light. But again, just relaxing, stepping back and witnessing the miracle of that vibration of life. Oh, beautiful. And then again, nothing wrong. And then the dream comes in and again steals the show. Let it be there. The only thing that you actually don't even need to remember because it's done for you too. It's just a current breath, a current heartbeat. You don't even have to do anything about it.
Just embrace your true nature. As the witnessing presence, the consciousness that is never not here and that is always first before any contentThat was tough. Oh my goodness. Well, mind is not your friend. Mind is like, um, AI, an AI. Application thatTells you what you want to hear, maybe? Is very enticing, perhaps draw you in. But just like the words on the expression or some written paragraph in AI, it has no power. Thoughts have no power. The power, they're empty, they're not self-sustaining. What sustains that is attention, attention focusing on the thought. The seeming thought, this thing that pops up that we can't grasp or hold on to, but we, with our attention, can make it real, give it life.
We make it matter. We make it solid in a way. It appears real. We start to believe it, believe in the thought, oh, because I think, you know, well, mind has done me right before. It's got me this far. I need my mind. If I don't pay attention to those thoughts, God knows where I'm going to end up.How about if that too is a thought that you've been conditioned to believe? Rain washed if you like. And what if in actuality The body, which is intrinsically integrated into everything, nothing is separate, has just been living you, lifeing the whole time, without any requirement or assistance from belief in thoughts.body is not separate from these.
Appearances in the so-called mind. But has a natural intelligence. To live and has been doing that since you were seemingly born. They did that seamlessly.doing the best, always the best. What's required in this moment, right now. And it will continue to do that. Whether you believe that you're enlightened or realized or not. It's always done that and will always continue to do that. See that when the thoughts, what we call thoughts, appear, can ask, to whom are those thoughts addressed? Who are they for? Go and take a look. Can you find the address? There's nothing. There's no one. There's no entity, individual entity there waiting to receive them.
And as you're looking, looking for that individual entity to whom those thoughts are addressed, see that, There's a registering of all of that happening, just happening. There's no reference point. There's no boundary. It's just awarenessing, knowing, seeing. If we go into the thoughts as you were saying, Kat, give them attention and create an incredible detailed story, concept that can lead to all sorts of dramas, psychological suffering, so-called chronic pain in the body,Tension. What if just for, just for, just for fun, shits and giggles, for an experiment? Just trust the body. Trust the body. Because the mind is not your friend. You can't even find it. It's an absent friend.
It's an imaginary friend, in fact. When you use the term mind to refer to an individual, something attributable to an ego or a person who's doing the thinking. You can't figure it out with the mind. We're being lived. Seems that, you know, we are that life. This body is being lived. It's all being done for you, just as you say. All being done. And the thoughts will come and go as they come and go. They may fall away. They may not.Can you be disengaged? Disengaged from them as if they're not addressed to you. They're just something that appears in the environment, in the awareness, in what's happening.
You can pretend that they're misaddressed and they're for your neighbour. They lose all sting immediately. So it's not personal. Or you can look for that person. And not find them.understanding or being familiar with, not even understanding, being familiar with the mind chatter, the mechanism of it, when it's triggered to go in a certain direction, for instance, self-criticism. That's helpful. That's helpful.Because you can see then, just like anything else, it's related to everything else that's going on. And in fact, never separate, never separate at all. That's just another thought, that you are a separate individual. This me, this I, this central controller, pulling the levers, pressing the buttons, do the investigation.
Can you find that individual, that ego?The other thing that you'll notice upon watching, seeing, is that mind, time, past and future are all synonymous terms. This thing we call mind, which you can't even find, is past. The past.dead past and how how how unfortunate when that attention on something that lacks life in a way is dead based on the past is given your attention rather than what's happening actually right now how sad trading trading as you say you know the now the beauty of what's happening now forSomething that's imagined. And if you're paying attention too, you know, when, let's use the expression, head in the clouds, lost in thought, there's a, it goes with a sort of a cluingness in your body, a heaviness.
Caught up in something rather than the freshness, the aliveness, the vitality of what's happening. There's a, you know, a sense of a, yeah, heaviness or whatever, but can, there's a, And all of that's being registered all the time, constantly. There's never not registering.Where can you go from there? You can't, you've always been registering, always been here, right here. That is exactly right, Pesto. There's nowhere to go. Nothing to fix. Unless you believe thoughts. Unless there's attention given to thoughts and the energy or power of belief.that ultimately leads to limitation. Imitation. Like even looking at you and thinking, well, you know, I know you're 51 this year, right?
Wow. You, aging is a concept. Amazing. It is, you know. What is it? What is it? Still have that same sense of or presence awareness of being that has always been there and that's never changed. Of course you age if you believe you are the body. But if it's just another part of what's happening, of the whole, well, it's just like, The weather. The wind.changing form. Nothing to get caught up in or worried about or concerned about. I had a chat with a so-called seeker the other day who was How do you know that this is not real? How do you know this is not real? From what perspective does that question come?
Real for whom? Not real in the sense that There's nothing, there aren't things occurring here that are directed at or directed by an individual. That's all imagined. That's all, that's... The imagined reality is that things, situations are happening to me.It's just a habit, a habit that we were taught when we were babies, that we watched others perform. out, well this is all happening to me. And if there's a me, and there's automatically separation, then I must not be part of this. I must step, I must be sitting outside of it somehow. And with that comes Discomfort and fear. Vulnerability. Well, it's again so important to do that basic investigation for yourself.
Go and take a look. Earnestly again and again and again. Can't do it too many times. And neti neti as well. It's very helpful.that sense of presence, that just being, does that change when a body part falls off? Or you gain 10 kilos, or you lose 10 kilos, or your hair goes grey? Still, that presence awareness. unchanged, still, silent, consistent, never absent,From moment to moment. Can't miss it. Can't be without it. Can't be fixed. Can't be improved upon. All of that, that I need to find something, do something, understand something more deeply. So, mind stuff. Thoughts. And what a beautiful relief, beautiful relief. To accept that, well, you're not the doer.
Never have been, never will be. Never got anything wrong. Never got anything right. What a relief.Okay, we have greetings from the US, from Julia. And separation is the foundation of all suffering, isn't it? A misconception. And a misconception coming really from natural functioning, because this machine, just as every other vehicle, has self-preservation program installed. And because this machine is concerned about its own survival, and it is translated by the mind as a thought, I am concerned with my survival, the assumption is made that I am this machine. And from that, the idea of, okay, I'm only concerned about this. I'm not concerned about the ants or wasps or viruses or bacteria.
So obviously this is the source of concern and that is not. So there is a sense of separation. But if you really look at the direct experience, is it really I that is concerned? Is it really I that is making sure the heart is beating and the blood is circulating? Or is that narration just...a translation by the mind of what is happening absolutely effortlessly without any action and a doing like Tanya just said and same with everything same with seeing the attention goes to left goes to right by itself is dancing with the environment something happens here it goes there something happens there it goes there naturally one with environment is all happening within that space of knowing inseparable from any of that happening Only the translation, the interpreting goes, no, I'm concerned with this and not with that.
I am preoccupied with this, but not with that. But this preoccupation, the survival mechanism, is also installed right from... Ever i mean it doesn't even have the beginning it's like a sperm already has the survival mechanism telling it where to swim so it isn't something that i am doing it's just an interpretation of natural function of this machine to breathe, to see, to think and to interpret. I'm not doing any of it. It is happening within the consciousness that I am. The sense of separation, the misconception of separation comes from that overlay.of narrative which says no this is I and this is not I without that thought can you ever separate yourself from the consciousness can you ever separate even the body it also arises in the consciousness in the knowing can you separate any elements can you separate a thought from what is happening around It's completely impossible.
It's just the overlay of the narrative, so-called self-ink or self-referential thinking. Peter says, sometimes I find if someone says something very provocative, that it triggers the me to react quickly and by the time it is not noticed the rage of anger has been activated and it is like wow what to get out of this but i am noticing it is getting less reactive so there must be some automatic updating of the algorithm in this body mind and it so is absolutely but even if the activity preserves You know, when you think of nature, you think of the corrida bulls trained on Spanish floors to respond, to be activated by the waving red blanket, charging it.That's nature.
That's nature. But that's wonderful, isn't it? When it rewires and it isn't that reactive. Sometimes it's not even what people say, but how they say it. You know, when they knock to your door and say, oh, you know, it's only 40,000 of us. We have to save your soul because you are lost and we are right. Of course, that triggers. I mean, you know, it's the same self-preservation. And Jyoti says, listening to Tanya, a thought came up. What is outside of thinking? Hmm, beautiful. There would be nothing if there are no thoughts. Isn't it amazing?Yeah, if you don't label anything. No thing. No separation. No thing, yeah, good point.
Not exactly nothing, because there is a liveness, there is that radiance shining through, and this kaleidoscopic dream. I mean, if you look at the... Look at the cat, the couple of cats walking around. I can tell you they still respond to a smell of a food. They still respond to a pat. And they still see us, you know, the gaze in the baby's eye or in the cat's eye. They'll still... Look at that. But yes, without thoughts, there are no objects. There is no separate objects related to the reference point which can't be found. Oh, wow. He wants a close-up.So anyone, any question, comments? Everyone knows the fact of their own existence.
So tell us about it. What sits with you? The good thing is that, you know, when you reiterate what is clear, what is obvious, what you resonate with, even if that is just a one old pointer constantly repeated, That not only, that is the resonation that you offer to your own musical instrument, in your own frequency, in your own voice. That's why Bob was encouraging people to actually speak up and say what rings true and stay with that because even one thing, even one pointer, it doesn't have to be said in a hundred ways.Thank you, ladies. We are still today. Speaking about the no thing, in this book, Bob's book, Beyond Mind, Beyond Words, he said in page two to keep seeing that There is no thing that sees.
And recognizing that seeing of itself is happening naturally. And then the recognizing of the natural seeing will appear to last longer. What is that? Recognizing. Recognizing that natural seeing will appear to last longer. What is that? You forget. I mean, forget. You forget, you know, you remember now that you naturally see, you know, like right now, the seeing spontaneously happening. Yeah. But when you are engaging with trying to understand, grasp with the mind, you kind of lose sight of it. It's still happening naturally, but you lose sight of it. When you put attention back on it and just quiet in the mind for a moment and just see that field of seeing, are you not doing it?Without trying to grasp it, you will see that, oh.
Now you can stay with that recognition a little bit longer. And then it may actually become like a base, a ground that is always there. You know, see that our attention is somewhat trained to always attend to the most urgent, the most significant, the most important things, which is always a survival. And thoughts are like viruses, which also love to be and want to be. And if you even see at the social media or entertainment, or even if, you know, people who have their businesses, how to, you know, put the bullet points that they really hit you in the head, that they're really powerful, like keywords that will grab the attention and hold it.
Fight for attention, fight for that life essence. So the mind at this point is so predominant, is so hungry for attention that the natural seeing, even though it's happening all the time, is completely overlooked because we have this powerful keywords. That grab the attention. But when you just relax the thinking for a little bit and notice, hmm,See, I'm not even doing the same. It doesn't have to be done. It's just there, completely available. And staying in that, ooh, wow, it lasts longer. Can you see? It seems to last longer, but it's never been gone. Never been gone. It's never been absent. It lasts longer, but it's not something that...
The mind will always want to make it last forever. It's the mind telling you that it seems to last longer. That's a commentary. Really, that's all that there is. So it's always been happening. It's the thoughts that you believe that say you haven't been present. You're always present. Nothing ever occurs outside consciousness, ever. The recognizing is something that comes and goes when you're in the tension, when you're not paying attention to the thoughts. It's something that will always be. It's always like a practice. Is it a practice? Bob has actually a lovely description in that book where he talks about how attention, like the sun's rays, focused through a magnifying glass on the point on the body will burn.
It gives it the power of burning, you know, to... Change something whatever on the body but when the magnifying glass is removed the light the heat will spread evenly and naturally over the entire body then dissipate naturally so it's you know talk about power of attention but also even that the words coming out of this mouth is all part of the story of what's happening, right? And there doesn't have to be either, and there isn't ever a person, an individual there or here, for any of this to be occurring.is actually how it is. It's imagined that you're an individual separate. We're all separate here with our own separate control or sitting behind our eyes somewhere.
Actually, what is your true and real experience is that there's just a a bit of discovering. It's an illusion that you are discovering as an individual as well. It's just what's happening right now. And when these other, you know, with these things, something we call thoughts. Which seemed to occur and this, as Bob says, you know, light of attention is shined on it through this magnifying glass, looked at closely to the exclusion seemingly of everything else that's happening because you're focused on this. Thought and it's so distracting because it's told me something I really want to hear or know or I really want to believe or have come to life that's what you'll getIt's ray of, well, your attention rayifies it, gives it life, makes it matter.
What if you took away the magnifying glass? What if that was gone? And the thoughts come up and they wriggle around, have a play, and then they dissipate naturally. Because what you were saying also, and you probably recognize it straight away, how even you put it in words, the mind wants to make it to practice, control it. Start over. Okay, okay, now I'm going to take care of it. I'll do it for you. I'll keep remembering for you. This is going to be my task. Should I do it 12 times a day or should I do it one hour in the morning, one in the evening?
How should I do it? And if you recognize that even that is just spontaneous happening, life creating a structure which may actually, it may just do the job. But you're not really handing over any real control to any real mind because there is no mind and there is no control. But you can see how this spontaneous idea shows up. And thank you, because that actually is what's happening. When there is that love for the truth and love for being, and there is a resonation and there is a calling.Like, oh, I don't really care about anything else. This is just, this is the only thing that drives, you know, the longing for that sense of fulfillment, for that embodiment, that union with embodiment, union with that oneness of God or whatever the imagination may be.
Doesn't matter. That's also provision made by life. And it may bring about the discipline. Okay, let me pause. I have a look.Spontaneous seeing is happening. And then, okay, the dream will strike you again, go on a roller coaster up and down, survival, everything. And, oh, the discipline comes spontaneously again. And then the mind comes, okay, let's do it every hour. Let's put the alarm clock. And every hour we're going to have a bing. So what? Yeah, whatever. Say yes to life. What's the big deal? Though, be mindful of the story that mind will make of it, that, oh, yeah, I'm in charge now. Now this is my job.
I'm important. I'm real. I'm separate. I'm in control again. No, if not for the consciousness, that structure couldn't have come up. That idea couldn't have come up. It's quite inspiring. And there are lots of inspiring ideas there. All the pointing is really throwing the resonation of inspiration. And if it brings the, you know, if it responds somewhere, discipline comes spontaneously. And the mind says, oh, I've done it. I remember. I did it. I'll structure. But, yeah. Make it a practice. Just be mindful that, you know, there's no one that is making anything at all.Anyone? That's the interesting thing about it. Concentration and Attention, consciousness. The microphone is coming from Dean, and you're passing the microphone from that direction.
And if I concentrate on that, this disappears. It's just amazing how the whole... Appearance. It comes together and dissolves.Amazing magic show. I was watching a show on TV, a famous tennis player, and the tennis player said that she was playing a championship match. And, uh... There was a strange thing that happened at the end. It was like everything was switched on. The sound suddenly came on. This was the end of the match. So she'd been in this...in the zone where the normal senses were heightened to such a degree that all the sound, all the background noise just was filtered out. And she just played tennis without thinking about it at all.
It's just all taking place.Pretty amazing experience. But we're... Actually going beyond that because There is some knowledge that You don't do anything. It's all happening automatically. And the show goes on. Whether, you know, you're... Is whether there's apparently someone that's taking place and, and, um, appears to be involved in everything and having ahaving the illusion of acting out this or that action. But it's all just taking place. You got it, you know. Once you picked up about the...This apparently being suffused, Bob would say suffused with intelligence, energy. It's all here. It's all at one's fingertips, so to speak. It's intelligence energy. emptiness, the emptiness itself, condensing.
And the natural scene.Difficult, difficult to talk about. Because we're speaking about just one. So. Because life is happening and everything just can be so quick, isn't it? There's no time to think that, oh, let me think about, you know, you're just reacting most of the time. You're not... How are they doing? We were just reacting to this, the energy that's happening, the intelligence, that intelligence energy. It's creating everything that's happening around us very fast. It's reflex a lot of the time. Yeah, the body is just responding. It's just the natural responding. We don't have time to think. Well, that time is thinking. Okay. Time is thinking.
Time is thinking. What is thinking is a reminiscence. Of or a projection, it's imagined. You don't have to think. Thank goodness. Thank goodness. The body's not waiting for me to figure out what to do next. For me.So we're talking about responding to the energy that pops up. Sometimes the energy is more significant than others. Sometimes it's like you're driving and somebody does something or something very significant that may potentially impact your life shows up in a very significant way. You hear stories of people falling into the space of awareness automatically. And most of us take a long time, you know. And it almost seems, I don't know, and I know it's images of the mind, or is it taken this long because we're, or however long it takes because we're sort of addicts of the...
Neuropeptides that get injected in our bodies and we get used to those responses. I don't know. But I know that, uh, When the significant things come up,And this is an ongoing conversation with me. Those are the challenging times. So it almost seems like, I don't know, we're talking about creating, being mindful to the extent where you practice doing the investigation. Reminding yourself to do the investigation. On a continual basis until you develop the habit of doing it to the extent. Where you resonate, allow yourself to resonate from that space of awareness. And I know that it's always there. Like it's always there. These are all fabrications of the mind.
This is the clear message, right? At the same time, I seem to not be aware of it in the intensity of some things that pop up in life. So.I have no message here. But the question is, yeah, there has to be some, and, you know, I'm practicing, but at the same time, it's, yeah, those are the really challenging moments in life. But it's not now. No, no, no, no. It's not right now. Well, I think the tendency is we like the mind, that person, like to be in control. We like to practice. But when it comes to the crunch, like, you know, I was once driving down the freeway and a mattress from the truck next to me fell right in front of my car.
And suddenly everything goes into slow motion. Yeah. And then, yeah, I don't know what happened and we drive past the mattress. So we can't, it's like we have no control at all, really. As much as I like to be practicing and think that I'm, you know, improving myself and my life and everyone around me. But there is no driver there. That's it. There's no driver of the bus. The boats are empty. There's no driver in terms of there's no individual entity controlling what's happening. And there's no effort required. There is no one to do effort. You see? The effort is in being effortless, in recognising the effortlessness of it all.
It is an illusion that you're putting in effort to make things happen. Who is putting in effort?Where are they? Oh, this body. Okay. Okay. So where is the decision maker for your next move? It's just, oh, you know, somewhere in my brain somewhere. This is all a habit, an illusion, to think of it coming from somewhere. The decision to breathe, to turn, to yawn, coming, I make this, I have a plan, I have a strategy, I have a step-by-step process in which I go through. Well, thank goodness that isn't the case because my goodness, right? What's happening in this seemingly, this body which appears from the perspective of the limited senses to be separate from everything else, it's just actually just in motion like the air, wind, it's not separate from everything else.
It's all like you pull one thread on a web and the whole web reverberates. It's the same. It's not separate from. It's an illusion that somehow when the air gets breathed in, it is now a separate part of a separate body.all part of the concept of being this vehicle that appears to move around. But when you actually go and look, And we know that that which is real is what doesn't change. It remains itself, if you like, which doesn't change. The only, the only experience of that is being. It's the only experience there ever is of no change.Reflect on your experience. You've always been here, still, never moved.
In fact, everything's moved. In you. In you. See, when you were on the road and the truck dropped the mattress, what was the experience? Weren't you always here? Right here? Right in the center? Right in the middle of the whole thing? There was a road around and cars. Now there is a room around and people. Another time there may be a bathroom or the ceiling or the bedroom or whatever. But the experience of being is always right in the center, like an eye of a cyclone, always here, always quiet. Content is changing, but the consciousness always present here. It's never out there. It's only the mind that tells you, yeah, yeah, but I was there on the Belmore Road and this road.
But without the thought, direct experience says no.Right in the middle, right in the center, here. Everything else is the translation, you know. Apparently, this capacity develops about like when the baby is born about eight months old, then it starts conceiving of a space outside immediate experience. For example, out there, you know, the mother appears and speaks to the baby right in front of the baby and then the mom goes away. So in the experience of a child like three months old, it vanishes. It is, it isn't, it is, it isn't. It's really energetic. If the mother is peaceful, then the child may be nice and quiet when the mother is absent because the energy is consoling.
But if there is a stressful environment, the child, the moment the mother disappears, trauma, abandonment, whatever, if the energy isn't soothing. But about the age of eight months, the brain starts, the brain doesn't learn, but the program started being uploaded there. And the conception comes that out of this immediate space, there is a space which I'm not seeing, but it still has real existence. And the mother is out there and she comes and goes. So there is like conceptualization of space that is still and objects that are moving. And I'm one of the objects, mom.is another of the objects but this only comes with the program because direct experience without the thinking without the mind you always here always here everything else moves but you are always here every time you look yeah here never not here always here So the illusion of moving through space, you know, like when you go in the train and you sit and the mountains are passing and trees and villages, everything is passing.
You are still. You're not moving. You're sitting. Your butt is still. But the train is moving. But what if this is only the interpretation of the mind? You know, when you're dreaming of flying the airplane or moving in the train, the body is still on the bed. The whole dream of movement, the same here. It's a dream of movement. Direct experience is motionless, still, always here. The mind can't grasp it. You have to give up. Put the mind aside. I can see you computing, computing. Oh, almost there, almost there. Not going to happen. The program is running just as well. You don't want a program. Let it run.
It's helpful. It helps navigating. It's just that you use it rather than let it use you. Not there is two things and there is you to be used, but, you know, just for the heck of expressing it. Just see it for what it is. It's a program. It's a navigational aid. It's not the truth. It's interpretation of the truth. The truth is experienced directly, right here as it is. You're always here. You're always present. You're always in this immediacy of seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, smelling. And imagining that you were in some country, on some planet, in some house, or on some road. All that dream that tells you that your location is changing, your time is changing, your age is changing.
Where is it when you don't think? Gone. But what doesn't change? Hmm, always here. And then you can see how rich and beautiful and colorful that amazing dream of change is. But you are grounded in stillness. Now you can fully appreciate it without being just swap and slush and smash them. Bashed. Yeah, bashed by it. And that's the freedom because then, you know, you sort of got outside. If effort is required, effort will effortlessly show up. You know, like digestion. It's required. You stuff your stomach with stuff. A lot of effort. You know how much energy is required. Sometimes, if you stuff it too much, Bob was doing all the time, would overeat and then...
A lot of effort, but effortless. You haven't done any of it. It just happens. I'm just going to add a couple of comments here. And I want to hear Dean because he was almost opening his mouth three times and always handing over to others. And Julia says,As someone who struggled with eating disorder for years, I like how Tanya touched on weight and change of the body. It has nothing to do with who you are. Absolutely. This is just a suit, a costume, a car. Car is aging, car is changing. You replace the parts. Bob would say, you know, are you your body? Are you your house?
Are you a coat? Are you a car? Just the same way. You know, you say my body. It is your home, your car, your house. It's not that you are it. And Tanya also says, same here, Julia. What a great pointer. And thank you for sharing, Tanya. And Heather says, gives us a white hat. Thank you. And Julia says, beautiful cat. And Anthony says, can someone... Sometimes feel like an out-of-body experience without anything being out of anything and nothing being experienced. Sounds silly by hay, but sounds fantastic. You go.This always here business is not here seated on this chair. It's not anywhere. It's beyond here and there and anywhere because it's just, it's like you're reading the seeing, keep seeing that the seeing is happening.
The seeing is always the seeing. Everything's registered in the seeing, you could say. It's not quite true, but it's the aliveness. It's always alive. It's always a presence. So mattress falling down, mattress moving this way, moving that way, it's always the same. Same scene, the same appearance, the same awareness in which everything appears, everything, which is really, really nothing. Like, it's an amazing show. It's a really stunning show. We talked about thoughts. We talked about intelligence energy, for example. And like this, we talk about energy. If this is just an appearance, then everything is energy. So this solid thing here is actually energy, molecules, atoms, vibrating at a certain frequency.
A thought, what's a thought? Another form of, what's a word, another form of energy appearing as a sound wave? What's a thought? A more subtle form of energy. So it's one essence.with infinite energies expressing themselves in so many different ways, who are they expressing themselves to? They are not expressing. So the idea of who they're expressing themselves to is another thought. So that's just energy appearing on the same screen. So to be, to how to respond or not respond is still the same energy appearing in a different way. It's still the appearance. So there is no way in it or out of it. There is no, there can be appearance of a practice.
But the practice is still another energy. And who is it appearing for? No one again. It's just appearing as what is described as a practice. If that makes any sense at all. But, you know, like the past. What's the past? Energy. Appearing as a thought. The past is dead. The future is dead. The future hasn't happened. The past is dead. But if they appear in the appearance, they are just other packets of energy appearing in a different vibration, at a different frequency. But it doesn't make them, they're not more real or less real than this pillow, than this leg. Then this body, then the next thought or the next feeling or anything.
So what does that really mean?We don't know what it means. It's absolutely mysterious. It's totally mysterious. We actually don't know what this is. There's no one that can actually, there's no one, there's no one. It's all there is is this, appearing, patterning, shaping as different bodies, voices, words, thoughts, actions, movements. practices, responses, getting into, getting out of, all descriptions of the energy. There is no meaning. No. No. No. No. No. No, exactly. There's no meaning. And an appearance, oh, this must mean that, is another pattern of energy appearing in the same place. It's like, where can... Where can an idea land on this? Where can you try and figure this out, work it out, understand it, rationalise it, conceptualise it, analyse it?
You can try and you can point and you can explain it in infinite ways and through different descriptions and pointers, but at the same time, it's always... It's always mysterious. It's completely unknown. And like the cognizing emptiness itself is really what it's saying is it's like everything's been registered. All these energies are being registered in some way or another. So they're known. But what they are...is absolutely mysterious. And so therefore there is no time. It's just the registering of time's another concept. The idea of time is another energy appearing as an idea of time. So it's actually quite outstanding. So keep practicing that. See, like, how can, you know, like, there's no practice.
There's no way in or out or no betterment. But look, or another way is like, you know, if you notice, the body itself and made up of all these foods and made up of a genetic code that was based on ancestors. This is just all stories, right? And then all the factors that affected that food that is in that body now, all the environmental factors appearing to influence the colour of the skin, the saturation of different cells and the way they're functioning, the neurobiological system, how it's working, how it's affected, if it's sick, if it's really healthy, if it's optimal, if it's out of balance.
All of these things and the whole environment, the whole universe in actuality, everything is affecting it.So that is, and that is creating like the perception almost, like the perception is through a lens that's been completely modified by the whole universe. So whose perception is it? So if the perception, oh, I see things are lovely, or I see things are shit, or I feel depressed, or I feel happy, or I feel blissful, no one's doing it. I don't know how all this is working. These are just descriptions. But in those descriptions, you can see that you're not the body or the mind, and the whole universe is actually influencing everything.
But yet there's still, that is still not known. Don't think I know something that you don't or someone else doesn't know or something higher or talking from a higher level of consciousness or some bullshit like that. These are just words spontaneously appearing. But it's not just these words. Your words are spontaneous. Everyone's words. So it's not just no doer here. There's no doer anywhere. And there's not even the fact that we're even talking about a doer is sort of even implying that there's someone who's not doing. It's even worse than that. It's far worse than that. There is nothing. There's nothing being done by anything.
It's just, wow, one big...cosmic, cosmological explosion that is just immediate, that's just present. It's just, it's not a millisecond. It's not going to come and go, oh, there's another registered millisecond. It's always that same presence. It's like a light show that's lit up because of the aliveness. It makes objects appear real. It makes thoughts appear real. It makes a body feel like it's something and makes... distance seem like it's something and makes space seem like it's things in space and motion and movement and people navigating space and doing good things and doing shit things and you know um but it's all the it's all the energies vibrating at all these different different ways But as I said, they're just like exploding now.
Absolutely now. It's closer than now. Now it doesn't even give it justice. It's so immediate. It's so boom, like, yeah. So it's like sometimes, you know, the whole thing can get a little bit complicated trying to understand. Oh, yeah, well, if that's me, I need to look this way. And if I look at it that way, maybe I can keep seeing. Like, like, like if you, that pointer, keep seeing there's no thing that sees. Recognise that seeing of itself is happening naturally and the natural seeing will appear to last longer. Appear to last longer. So it's really important. It's not keep doing this practice and you'll get better.
It's describing an appearance. Everything is describing the appearance. Every word, every thought, every...Everything is describing an appearance. This is describing an appearance. And the appearance is bang, here, now, spontaneous, alive, immediate, undeniable. And it's the same appearance, the same presence, the same immediacy. That's every... No one is exempt. There is no one and there is no exemption. It's, except there's a couple of, you know. I thought there was a couple. No, no, no. A couple of exceptions. No, there's not. It's impossible. It's like saying, can something be outside of it or something beyond it? Yeah. But this is an imagined thing. You hear it more and more in science and people talking about, you know, oh, outside of consciousness, somebody has described that outside of consciousness exist these obelisks hanging in nothingness.
What the hell? I mean, what? So somebody in the dream has described something outside of consciousness that's hanging in, how bizarre. Just, I mean, for a moment, consider that anything. Wow, no, it just doesn't make any sense. But the effortless, effortless isn't, you know, all those beautiful adjectives that you use are absolutely spot on.on and truly, really, absolutely effortless. Everything, all this happening, happening is effortless. Effortless spontaneity. And the word spontaneous now, as you say, doesn't, the minute it's gone, it's done. What can be said? Be effortless then really it's the accepting even effortless is not is not right because effortless requires there's somebody not putting in effort or just say there is no thing is required by anybodyThere is no body to do anything, never has been.
Nobody to accept. Correct. Correct. And actually, I have a couple of comments here. One says, Chandika says, beyond name and form, as Nisargadatta said, beyond name and form and cannot be known, I am that. And, oh, I absolutely loved every word that came out of you. And this is the describing of... The absolute meaninglessness of the mystery which is only killed and lost by the attempt to objectify it by the mind because the moment i'll make it an object to grasp i make myself a subject that grasped it So you want to lose the ultimate freedom of that beautiful, meaningless, absolutely mysterious dream? Try and grasp it.
That's the way. You want to objectify something that is beyond conception? Employ the mind, put the labels, I have it, you don't have it, I don't have it. That's the way. But if you see how Keep the mystery alive. Just let it shine of its own.you are already lived by that mystery whatever you consider yourself to be whether you the whole field of consciousness cognizing emptiness whether you this current breath or the feeling whatever you consider yourself to be you are effortlessly being lived there is no need for anyone because there isn't anyone to grasp or understand anything but the urge is for the mind to stay separate to stay objectifying yes but i want to be in charge i want to be separate i want to be in control i want to know i want to understand i want to write the equation i want to find the solution to the life and universe i want to have the quick short e equals mc square or answer is 42 or whatever it is But the mass and the equation is just an appearance in consciousness.
How can the appearance grasp that? Which it is just a minute expression of, is absolutely impossible. Understanding that not only it is absolutely killing the freedom, the only freedom there is, is the freedom in which there is no one who gives a shit, no one who wants to or needs to figure it out. It's absolute joy in being one with the absolute mystery.understanding what's going on and I love it. Beautiful. Not needing to know. There is really no self that needs to know. That mind wanting to grasp is just a program. Which has been given too much life of attention so it appears as is real it appears as there is really oh there's me and not me it's tense and it really wants to grasp that is how the mystery gets separated me the object subject sorry knowing this the object now there is two of us I know so I'm not afraid anymore but even the fear itself comes from the idea that yes but I need to know because there is an I and I need to know if I will know I won't be vulnerable anymore I'll be safe I'll be secured Again, there is no such thing as security.
Everybody will expire. Sooner or later, who cares? And everybody is already looked after by the same force that brought it into existence. None of your business. And it is already instinctually covered up. The strategies are already designed and running on autopilot ever, forever. It's just a translation which interprets it and makes it to a meaning. Oh, this means that, and this means that, and oh, now I know, okay. Oh, this person is dangerous, I'm going to stay away from them.this person because it can hurt me well it's seemingly helpful for a person but without that translation of the narrative cat doesn't have it and will still run away from the dog doesn't need to have that concept in the mind so the effortless happening the flow with oneness of life like dean was saying you know this pattern just as every other pattern is part of the the whole dream dancing is just the energy showing up in all those forms objectifying it is creating the sense of separation isolation loneliness psychological suffering all the nonsense that we seemingly are then trying to medicate and run away from which is only there because of the too much of the habitual attention innocently goes into the narrative.
It doesn't have to be this way. Go on, Dean, you have the mic. Yeah, yeah, let's speak.Yeah, well, um... I think you covered it quite well. Nothing to add. Okay. No, I'm here. Yeah, so wow. Thank you for the lovely discussion. And the contributions and the honesty and yeah never knocked out that is wonderful that is a wonderful opener for you know yeah absolutely you know necessary and umWhat could you do about it anyway? And I've seen yesterday, actually, I was witnessing a beautiful transformation of a man who realized that, you know, that life, that universe, that God, whatever you want to call it, omnipresence, omnipotence.
That is just there and doesn't even know it is there. Oh my god, that's the only way for God to see that beautiful forest and sky is to use this and this and this. Shit. Oh my god. Yep, that's right. That's right. Get out of the way and let him see. Let him or her, whatever you consider God or life or universe, it gave itself this beautiful gift of that meat suit with the holes of eyes and ears and nose and all that. So space is pretty much unconscious. And now this one generates all that bzzz, generates this incredible, incredible seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, smelling.
None of that is any of your doing. And to just see someone coming home and relaxing and realizing, wow. This is so simple. You don't have to know anything. You don't have to think anything.I have to hold on to the old idea of being unworthy, feeling a survivor's gift or trauma or attaching to the story of me. Hidden in a plain view just out of this back here and Yay. What's wrong with right now? Yeah, when the middleman's out of the way. Yeah. They can sit like your tennis player. Not having the false belief that you're the separate I, the doer, out the way, that veil of ignorance dissolved.
Simple. Thank you very much. Hallelujah.
