And okay, so we're going to start with, how about I'll get you a chapter, one of the chapters that everybody loves from the book, what I actually put out just as an experiment. I put out all the stuff together. I think I had it a couple of minutes ago. I'm checking out the audio book that I started putting out in a voice of some nice British lady. And it was on the res... Resonance? Realize? I think... Realize, that was it. Ah, realized. Here are some sentences copied from a couple of my earlier transcriptions, where Bob organically uses the word real. Yep, sorry, sorry. Yes, I do listen double the speed because I'm just looking for errors and nothing else.
So it really goes fast. But I'll do it. Proper way okay and it is you were fast cat but that was a little bit that was very fast yeah so this is gonna be just three minutes or actually four minutes and it will be a beautifulset of Marianne says too fast yes it will be a beautiful set you'll see by yourself when I just transcribed realize and this is it off we go oh realize Here are some sentences copied from a couple of my earlier transcriptions, where Bob organically uses the word realize. I trust this will be a refreshing reminder. Bob, I came to realize I was being lived.
I came to realize that my seeming journey was how it all panned out. The realization was that there is no center if I am that space like awareness. I realized that there is no me. There is nothing there at all. I realized that everything I had believed in, I was not, and everything just dropped away. Realize there is only now. You can realize just how much takes place without the use of the mind. Realize that the functioning is happening effortlessly, without any me involved. Realize that before anything can be wrong, there has to be thought. There is no relationship between apparent seeking and realization of liberation.
In the dawning of that, you realize that any direction you go in will always be in the mind. What way out of the mind is there? Full stop. Realize that all that ishappening is conceptualization. Realize that there is no personal doer of it. Realize there is no one to do it and nothing to do, and it will settle down of its own accord. Realize that which is ceaselessly and spontaneously arising prior to any thought. You are beyond the mind. Realize that. You must realize that you have been lived. You may not realize that even when the thoughts are going on, the silence is still there.
You have realized that you don't have to get to the silence. There is more silence in this room than there is sound. You realize there is not a thing you can say about it. But you can't deny the fact that it still is as it is. Realize you can't negate your being. You can't say, I am not. Realize that prior to the mind, there is always that pure intelligence or knowingness. Just come back to the sense of presence that you are, and realize that that is birthless, deathless, timeless, spaceless, bodiless and mindless. We are not realizing that we were whole from the start, that we never have been separate.
When you realize that you never find an answer to it in the mind, What happens? But realize that thought has come up spontaneously, effortlessly and intuitively on that what you are. You realize alsothat you can't cut space, you can't grasp space, you can't stir it up, you can't do anything with it. The same applies to this awareness. See that and realize that you are the emptiness itself, the no-thing-ness. But realize that you were seeing before the thought, I see, came up. Look again without labeling and realize that you are seeing as well as hearing at the same time. Realize that before words and images came up, there was a registering of things.
They are only being translated into words and images. Don't you realize that there is never a time when it is not there? Realize that there is not a past unless you think about it. And what future is there unless you think about it? From that, you see that mind itself is time. When the mind realizes that it has no power of itself, just like the piece of iron in the fire, then it aligns itself with that intelligence. Realizing that that intelligence is functioning, that's the razor's edge. All you need is to recognize that it is already so.That's it. Another chapter is on recommendations, so we'll stop here.
Wow. What book is that? It's my book, The Bags of Pointers. Is it from the bag? I have the book, but yes, it was just that. Oh, I have the bags of pointers. Yes. So it is the chapter on R and there is tons of chapters on R, but I'm just reviewing the audio book and I think I'm going to put some pauses between every sentence. Yes, please. A couple of sentences. Pause. Yes, yeah, that was the feedback I was going to give was that I think it would be a lovely rhythm if there was realize that da-da-da-da-da horse, let it sing. Realize the da-dee-da-dee-da-dee-da-dee-da horse, let it sing, you know, like almost like you throw pebbles into the pond.
And yeah, yeah, yeah. That's yeah, that's that's why I'm listening to the whole thing. And I'm picking out where it needs a little bit of a touch. And I've already introduced quite a quite a few pauses in different chapters. Some things were not read properly. So this one. Yeah, I have screenshots where the answer is required. May I ask why British accent and not an Aussie accent? It was Dean's preference, really. Dean? What? Or Polish accent? No, they didn't have Polish accent. There was option only for American accent or South African accent or Aussie accent. But yeah, he preferred the British accent. So yeah, let him have it.
Absolutely. I was just curious because I also, I really love the Polish accent, especially when delivered by this vehicle. Exactly. Yeah. Maybe one day, because I have Bob's parts pre-recorded. So maybe one day I will record it because that audio book is only available really. I mean, in Australia, you can buy it and you can listen to it, as you can see. But you have to log into the Amazon.com account, Audible.com account, where all your books may be somewhere else. It's a little bit of a nuisance. It's totally doable and it's really cheap, but it's a little bit of a nuisance. So I don't know if I will have space.
I may add my voice because Bob's voice I already have. It's just the problem with the noise at home. It's hard to record and Audible have such a high standards, but that's just a sidetracking. We'll see what happens. We'll see how life will have it. For now, I don't mind the British accent. It's kind of... It's quite, I kind of find it even funny at somepoints when I'm listening to it, I think, shit, you know, did I write it? Kind of don't even remember that. Yes, so, and it's, yes, it's clear, it's understandable. It's really the, you know, you won't mix the words. And Isabel, would you like to unmute?
Yeah, you say, just you say, you think by yourself, wow, do I really say that? And for a long time came always up for, I think when you hear that voice from you, that you also a little bit surprised from wow from that side it's coming and that side is coming and it's float and float and float out this I was a little bit thinking it's also surprising for you to hear the knowledge But I was just a little bit, because I was hiking and I was hurry, hurry to come back home and I was a little bit selling. Yes, that's a beautiful, beautiful thing what I recognized.
Couple of time, when we speak of time, back in time, you mentioned realizethe intelligence, the mind, is here, Nisargadatta mentioned one time, and I recognize this, they go green, they go help you, they are so influenced with the truth, because when I'm done, if something happened or something coming up and then it's so easy not easy it's such a beauty that the mind's filling up with true and it helps and it and it and it and it gives you thethe information that meets on that moment. You cannot do it. I'm sure there is no doer and what's coming up, coming up. But what I recognize is very, very special.
That's really helpful. Pew, pew, pew, pew. It's coming up, it's coming up and the rest of the nonsense is really very quiet and easy and yeah, that's such a beautiful what I recognize now. And when I was hiking this morning, then you seeit is stable. You don't walk, the body walks, but you don't walk. You eat direction coming in and then you're in the house the same, this direction and a direction. And that's such a, it's so stable. And then, yeah, the body is walking. I feel a little bit, I feel a little bit that. But yeah, that's such a beauty to recognize and to speak it out now loud and to share that.
Yeah. You look beautiful this morning, like a princess with this beautiful... I love it. Really, really, really, really nice. Thank you. I'm just kidding around because I'm wearing only black for the last three months, so just a little bit of a variety on it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was thinking about the black dresses, huh? It's only a meaning. I think in the past, when a woman got a widow, I was always thinking, why black, why black? But I think also that the around you can see, hey, in that time, that woman is a widow. We can give her a little bit help, maybe a nice smile.
Romantic maybe. But that was I thinking because in the past, in the village that they recognize you. Something like that. Yeah, it's beautiful. But I think for me, it's just really simplicity right now. Their life has simplified. There is a lot of things that, you know, that needed to move on. The stuff that was on the wall, tons of colors just needed to move on. We, Tanya and I made a lot of space, if you can manufacture space. Space uncover itself, the class disappeared. And the black is just like a clean canvas. It's like, you know, you close your eyes and that's the emptiness. That's the nothingness.
That's very, very simple. And now my wardrobe is all black and I'm absolutely loving it. I love also black. Yeah, I never wore black. It was always mixed with some other colors because I loved colors. But that was because Bob loved colors. He loved me in colors and now he's not there. So it's just a different chapter and it kind of feels simple, very simple. Yeah, you know, it's also, but also with the color black, it is clean. It is no, I don't know how to say. I like it. And this one is from Bob. Wow. Oh, what nice. Yeah, it's so special now.everything that reminds yeah most of the stuff that i left is is i left what is from bob i wear his jumpers also but uh he's nice never gone anywhere no no no no no for sure yeah yeah yeah The only thing is, yeah, you cannot hack him anymore, but he's always here.
Yes. Yeah, I want to share that. Maybe I come later, not back, because I book a movie. Yeah. Do you want to say something? Oh, it's just lovely interaction. It's very easy and carefree and it's nice. And you do look like extra beautiful today. I was thinking, you know, an Indian princess or something. It's beautiful. Yeah. Yeah. It's lovely.Yeah, but stability, it is stable. Wow. You know, somebody, maybe it was, who used that word the other night, stable? And we went, wow, yeah, that is a great way to describe it. It's always stable. As you say, wherever you go, if you're walking, running, diving, in the water, in the air, upstairs vacuuming, downstairs washing the dishes, it's always the same.
Stable. Never changes. Silence, stability, sameness. Yeah, how beautiful. Yeah. Always there. Beautiful. Yeah. And you mentioned just when you're swimming. When I was younger, I go a lot of diving. In the ocean. But the first time when I go, I go into the ocean and then I was Who made that noise? Who is breathing? Because it was such a surprise for the first time when you go in the sea and you have to mask and then... And that... That was such a beautiful recognition from, wow, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.Life is life in you. Life in you, yes. And Yvonne says, Nisar Gadada says, no university can teach you how to be yourself.
And Jenny, would you like to jump in? Yes, there we go. I found it so lovely, Isabel, now when you brought up, you know, the color, you know, the color black. And again, to me, it's so lovely to see how everything in life is really run by our concepts. And, you know, in a sense, how we see things and what we bring with us. Because now I was smiling when you shared, Kat, that you were wearing the colors for Bob. Because that is the feeling I had all the time. And maybe, you know, that's due to I love wearing black myself. I wear a lot of black.
And then sometimes I... I wear a color to it, but also a lot of black in my wardrobe. So for me, it was not that I was thinking, now, Kath, you're wearing black, now you're a widow. It was more, it was, and then I just became aware of again, look, it's all just concepts. It's all just how we interpret everything. You know, otherwise it just is. It just is. And then.We put the la-la on it, you know. It's like with the naked body, it just is. And then we put, dress it up, you know. We play dress up. We are our own Barbie or Kendall.
And we play dress up, you know. It's actually quite funny looking up our bodies that way. No way that flew in from. So my Barbie likes black too. And I might also be a little bit in and out because my daughter will come by and bring a quick lunch snack while she's passing through. So if I go off camera, then that's why. I'll be back. Always happy to be here with you. Makes me very joyous. Yeah, it's the stability. I love that word too. That was a good word to add to the essence, to the stillness, to the silence, to the sameness, to the suchness.
Thank you.Yeah, thank you. Yeah, if you look from the perspective of life, you know, like life, having those multitude of Barbies and cans and other costumes, the costumes of the plants, the costumes of the planets, the costumes of the... Viruses and the galaxies and suns and bacterias and and the droplets of water and thoughts and feelings and fabrics and colors every single expression that appears in that screen of stillness or sameness or stability in that immovable background is the expression of life itself is the costume that life is wearing to experience and express to see the reflection of itself to see its own omnipotence Now I'm this, and then I'm this, and I'm this, and I'm that, and I'm that too, and that too, and that too.
And life looks through the human eyes, the sky above them, and the stars, and oh, this is my reflection as well. Everything is that reflection of that one essence, of that one life. And again, my favorite story is that life expresses experiences and expresses itself for the fun of it, for the appreciation of it, for the love of it, for the love of the dance. So there is no other meaning or purpose for all that dream to go on rather than the dream itself, rather than this moment itself. And if the moment is unpleasant or there is a pain or ache in the body or there is a sense of deficiency or lack in life or in self-image or in anything, well, that is too life expressing.
Because without the sense of lack, there is no sense of fullness. The duality is the only mode in which the reflection is possible. If everything was gold, there would be no gold. If the space was gold and the ornament was gold, there would be no gold. Now, when we have this metaphor of every wave being the ocean, Wave can only be the wave because of the air, the atmosphere above the ocean. Imagine if there was just ocean and no air. There would be no waves and there would be no ocean. So duality is necessary for the experience and expression. For anything to exist, it has to appear on the background of its opposite.
There is space and there is content. There is seeing and there is content. There is experiencing and there is content. And now viewed from that perspective, there is no problem with the fact that there is a day and there is a night, that there is a pain and there is a pleasure.understandable necessity for both the polarities to exist and now if the if the so-called unpleasant uncomfortable or negative polarity plays its part there is a patience there is a patience because we know this is not gonna last it's gonna move on and i see there's a comment the costume life is wearing beautiful expression of life expressing in the 10 000 ways says jenny and uh Shane says, hi all, sorry I can't chat as my kids are asleep and we are in a small home.
Just a question. It is just about sitting in beingness, enjoying being aware of existence. Yes, that's a question. That's a beautiful, beautiful question and a reminder because that's really what all the non-duality is about. Every single pointer and all that line of pointers that we had initially on the beginning, I don't know how many of them was there, probably about 30 or 40 of different ways. Realize that, realize that. Are all pointers to the fact of our own existence. Realize that time is only in the mind, so there is only beingness in the direct experience. Realize that there never was a self, so there is only beingness in the direct experience.
Realize that you are not the body, not the mind, they are just appearances on the screen. Which is a being of itself. So,Bringing the attention back to the realization of the being is really the only reminder said in a hundred ways or in a thousand ways. But that's the only topic really we are focusing on. And then enjoying being aware of existence. Yes, so about sitting in beingness, we don't necessarily have to sit in it because we can't really not sit in it. The beingness is the basic screen, is the pure open space or field of consciousness that everything happens because of that beingness. So the beingness is always there.
to everything else beingness is never not here when the body is dead yes one could say that that conscious essence or that animated essence is gone but the dead body is still in the beingness so even then the beingness is there but being aware of existence this is where sometimes it comes handy to differentiate between the beingness or pure awareness or pure potentiality and the awareness of existence which we call consciousness consciousness is the existence utterly aware that it exists or being aware of its own existence so that one is is the sentience being aware of existence is the sentience and it is our direct experience no one here is unaware that they exist we we exist and we know that we exist and it is enjoyable unless of course there is a distraction So it is enjoyable by default.
You know, when you look newborn baby and the newborn baby is not hungry and it's not wet and it's not uncomfortable, it will just look with that radiant curiosity about the environment and learn and experiment and throw the hands and legs in the air and just enjoy the pure beingness. But when it gets wet or when it gets wet, cold or when it gets hungry the joy of being is obscured by the distractions and as the mind develops the mind is designed to scan the environment all the time for danger and distractions and provide safety and provide pleasure which is one of the same in a basic scheme of things you know when when the fruit is bitter it's probably poisonous when the fruit is sweet is probably edible so following what is sweet rather than what is bitter is following pleasure rather than pain and that ensures survival and and continuation of the existence so as the as the mind of a small baby is only employed when it's necessary when the reasoning capacity develops it becomes so attractive and so enjoyable then that reasoning or that imagination often hijacks most of the attention and as the reasoning the labeling starts we name things we also start naming ourselves and we start relating to ourselves and this is handy in communication this is not a bad mode of operating but it follows that a lot of attention gets into it and forms the belief the presumption that there is someone inside that there is a self that there is a meAnd that me has power.
The me has power to see, for example, to hear, to taste, to touch, to smell, to think. Now I have the power to think. Now I have the power to see. It's not the capacity that the human pattern has. It's mine. It's me. So therefore, when there is a negative thought, oh, shit, I'm thinking negative. Oh, what's wrong with me? There's something wrong with me. I have to fix myself. Oh, the judgment arises. Oh, I'm thinking judgmental thoughts. What's wrong with me? I'm evil. So now, because of that assumption that there is a self doing the seeing, the hearing and the thinking, that self is being evaluated and is being judged and is being taken seriously.
And it's believed into reality, just the same way Santa Claus is believed into reality or the flat earth. A few hundred years ago was believed into reality to the point that it was a reality for people who believe it. People who believe in UFO, that's the reality for them, or who believe that there is a conspiracy one or the other. That's the reality for them. The belief is the condensed, it's just a movement, it's just a different frequency of flow of the same energy, the same life essence, which constitutes everything, including the being.the experience of being, the curiosity, the capacity for seeing, because it's only one, that one field of energy, Bob calls it intelligence energy.
When it flows to that and supports that conceptualization, that reasoning capacity, and it constructs the conspiracy or it constructs the illusory doer inside my body, and enough of that energy of attention floods into it, the conspiracy becomes real and the doer becomes real. And now everything is very serious and is very important and is very rigid and is very painful. And imagine if I'm the doer, shit, I could get my life wrong. I can choose the wrong school. I could choose the wrong partner. I can choose the wrong profession and be unfulfilled forever. If I only did something else, my life would be fantastic. And those thoughts, if the belief in the self is real, those thoughts appear real.
And now we're living the nightmare. But if we question and we look and we see if there is any self, if there is that little driver inside the body who does the seeing and who does the thinking, and we can't find any, well, then perhaps.Perhaps there is no one doing it. Perhaps no one has chosen the wrong school or the wrong partner and screw their lives. Perhaps life unfolds as it should in the way that is most optimal for the survival of the body with the resources that the body is given. You know, if the body is conditioned to constantly sabotage, well, like it or not, it will constantly sabotage unless new sets of skills is developed.
And the new sets of skills will only develop if there is a thought. And if there is no self-thinking, the thought, the thought may never occur. And from life's perspective, to have one of the lives with all the wrong, seemingly wrong choices, because if there is no one to judge, there's no choice that is wrong. There's nothing wrong with being degenerate or drug addict or alcoholic or abandon your children and go astray. It's nothing wrong. Experience is as beautiful, as rich and as juicy as the experience of being a millionaire on the bed of feathers with a harem of beautiful young ladies. It is the same intensity of aliveness that life is constructing, is dreaming for itself to see its own omnipotence, to see how it can be everything. And then having the body which runs away, which misspell things, or which steals or rapes.
Is life having this body? If I believe this is me, I'm evil, there is something wrong with me. Yes, there is a hell experience. Life is experiencing hell. But it could be questioned. If life is moved, if life situation developed to the point in which this message is being heard, it might inspire questioning. And now, if there is no self, if I look, who does the seeing? Am I really doing the seeing? How am I doing it? How to actually do the seeing? Well, I have no idea. I have no idea how to do digesting. I have no idea how to grow hair. No idea.
Those things are happening without any doing. How about thinking thoughts? How to think thought? How to actually dream a dream? You realize that there is no way of knowing, there is no way of doing it. So perhaps this is just what's happening. Perhaps, you know, if the radio is transmitting a radio station or program, and if it had the capacity of reasoning, it would say, oh, I'm making that program or I'm playing that song. But how do you do that? Shit.Where are your musical instruments that allow you to play it? Shit, you know? It's just a program of taking credit for what is happening. This is like a radio station is transmitting live.
It's not doing it. It's not manufacturing it. It's just allowing it to appear. It's not even allowing it. It's just an instrument for it to appear. And Shane says, thank you, God. That really makes sense. Very much appreciated. Is it possible to get a recording of this meeting or do you post it on YouTube? I usually, I sometimes post them when I have more than a couple of people asking to post them, then I post them. If not, I encourage people to press their own recording button. You know, you can ask for the recording and I will always allow it. So we'll see what happens.
There's plenty of uploads on YouTube. And the reason why I'm not uploading all of those Zoom meetings is a little bit of a nuisance of converting them, downloading and so forth. But also, people don't really watch them that much. They like the home gatherings. They watch them and Zoom meetings. No, I was going to post Bob's spill once a week. One of the old meetings, I have a few hundred of those. But when I post them and I see 50 or 60 people bother to even switch it on,and the average time of watching is five minutes, then I can invest my time in something better than that.
I don't know how many people have seen the Barbie movie. What a movie. But all the talk about Ken and Barbie before. And there's a point in that movie where Barbie realises that she's not Barbie and that Barbie's being lived. And she says, I am. Yes. You know who was saying that? I've seen it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Barbie got it. She's done. She got it. You can tell she's done. Yeah. In plastic. Yeah, yeah. I remember when I saw that, I actually went and saw that movie with my son. He insisted we see it together. He didn't want anybody else to know that he was interested in seeing the Barbie movie.
I went to people. Did you? But so much of what you say is really just like Ken and Barbie dolls, you know, just. Thinking we're running the show. Yeah, yeah. Until, you know, Barbie looks inside and says, oh.Maybe I'm not running the show. Maybe I'm not that. I'm not what I think I am. And that actually, you know, I'm just an action figure. Being lived. What I think I am is just an action figure. What I actually am is the life. Yeah. Spoofing bug. That's it. Yes. That's it. Barbie. No Barbie. And the clarity coming through is beautiful. It is only beautiful because it resonates. So it is yours.
And in essence, that one life is experiencing and expressing itself through every vehicle, through every form, to every pair of eyes, through every heart, to every object, to every pattern, every wave, every particle. It's the same one life. So resonating is, again, resonating with that which is familiar, which is known, which is like a long forgotten tune, which we were born into. We were born as. And then it rings the bell. Oh, yes, of course. That makes total sense. Of course, it makes sense because When I look within, as Barbie said, I just know I am. Nothing else I know for certain. Nothing else. Everything else is a belief.
I am a person. Who told me that? When I was born as a newborn baby, did I think that? No. I'm a female. Really? This is a concept. When I pause the thought for a minute, ask what's wrong with right now, or even don't ask what is wrong with right now, just pause the thought and push them aside. Just park them for a moment, ignore them for a moment, and see what I really know about my life.my own self and and you will see that you only know that you exist the pure existence the awareness of existence that even without the thought even without the word is is all there is uh hey ivan would you like to unmute yes hi everyone Someone asked me, when do I know when the me is gone?
But the me was not there all the time. There is no me at all. So there's no me anyway. So you cannot know that it is gone. And who will know that? And I cannot know that there is no me either. Because there's only what is. I cannot know that I'm angry or sad or happy. There's only what is. And yeah, that is what is appearing. So me can never know that it has reached something, but because there's nothing to reach. There's only what is. And that's for me very wild and free. And the concept of angry, sad, happy, all that are, again, interpretations, narratives of thought or concept.
Yes. Aren't they? Yes. They cannot be different. One time you call it that and other time you maybe call it another. Something else. Always.Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. I think, you know, some science tells us there's not a great deal of difference between the so-called feeling or state of being in love and anxiety, I think. Yeah, we prefer one to the other. Context. Context. Interpretation. Interpretation. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, but it's a great point, Yvonne. Absolutely. You know, how do I know that I is gone? I is gone. I is gone. So who knows? Yeah. Yeah. The illusion of self may appear, but again, it appears to no one.
It just appears in space. Yes, Josh, would you like to unmute?Sure. Something came up when you just said that, which was, you know, a lot of points during every day, let alone when we're in deep sleep, there's no me, there's no I. It just happens without, I guess, the recognition of it happening. And if when the recognition of ithappening happens of there being no May and never having been any May, then Yeah, it's good. Joyous. Beautiful. What a relief, eh? Yeah. What a relief. Never did anything wrong. Never did anything right. Never did anything, ever. Was never there to do it. There you go. Yeah.
Like Nisargadatta says, nothing is wrong anymore. When there is illusion of self, when there is taking credit for actions, when there is self-evaluation going on all the time, everything is wrong. When the mind is in charge, when the mind is master, that function of the mind to look out for dangers. To look what is wrong and make it right so that the body survives. That appears as this is the reality. Mind says, oh, everything is wrong. And it feels like, yeah, of course, that's true. But when you realize that mind is just doing its function and you are the emptiness, you are the clear, empty, cognizing space in which the mind does its function, just the same way the stomach does.us its function everything does what it is meant to be doing and you are the witnessing presence in which all that happens so there's nothing wrong with the mind looking out for danger it's quite perfect in a way there is nothing wrong with the mind narrating or complaining that there is something that needs improvement in in that algorithm's evaluation.
But what does space, is that space bothered or preoccupied? No, space says yes to everything. Mind wants to go about fixing something? Well, it will go about fixing something. Or it won't if there is not enough of energy or charge into it. But the mind is not a problem anymore. The narrative is not a problem anymore. It doesn't even have to cease. It doesn't have to stop. It doesn't have to go quiet. If you realize that you are not the mind, you are not the voice speaking in the head, you are not constantly dissatisfied, complaining, poor, miserable little me, that it refers to or us.
There is no me. There is just the pure functioning. And part of the functioning is fault finding. What's wrong with that? It's a very, very helpful software. And when you see it this way, when you see that fault finding or complaining mind is the same...level of functioning as digestive enzymes breaking up the food in the body. It is the same. You don't complain about your digestive enzymes breaking the food and manufacturing shit to extract it later on. No, that's perfect. So the mind making shit is also doing its job. It's just the identity as the mind and seriousness attached to the narrative, to the interpretation that creates a living hell.
Now this is me that is judging. This is me that is complaining. Those are my personal problems, my personal dramas. Why is my life so miserable? Why am I so wrong or so weak or so ugly or so poor? This is about me now. And it doesn't have to be that way because you look within and you can't find an enemy. You see just the presence, presence, the I am. In that presence, the mind runs its story. The stomach runs its acid. The eyes runs their tears. The hair grow and everything else happens. Everything else unfolds as it should. Other minds are also running their stories.
And some of the stories are clashing. There are arguments happening.outbursts happening and this is all happening because of the beingness because of the i am and that beingness which is the basic screen of space for that happening it doesn't object to it it allows everything unconditionally It is the space for equally for the disciplined mind, obedient mind and crazy schizophrenic mind. For a broken machine and for well-functioning machine. For the good mood and for the bad mood. For the big body and the small body. And nobody. And recognizing that you are the presence. When the mind is there, presence is also there. When the mind is not there, presence is still there.
You pause the thought, the mind is not there. Mind is thinking. Without the thought, there is no mind. Without the thought, there is no self, there is no imagined I. See what that I is. It's the illusion of some entity functioning through time. The entity that was born, the entity that was growing up, that went to school, then graduated, then fell in love, then had a heartbreak and heartache, and then failed at this and succeeded at that, and have that friends and those dramas and these traumas and whatever. There is no such thing. The one thing that binds together all those seemingly isolated dreams or events in time is the fact of your own being, is the existence itself, is the pure presence.
And in that pure presence, all of those things, all of those sensations, expressions, thoughts, feelings, all of those bodies, because it wasn't one body, it was a young body or small body as a baby, and then this body was changing.and developing and all this is happening in that one presence. But there is, for the sake of communication and navigation and integrity of that organism, there is an illusion of entity being inside, being in charge of the body. There is a hallucinated sense of separate self. There is a me. But the only thing that was there, present, throughout, is the presence, is the pure sense of presence.
The self hijacks that concept of self, hijacks that sense of presence or grows on that sense of presence and says, this is I, I am present. While the presence is first and the self, the illusion of self, the image of self arises in that presence. When the illusion of self or the image of self for a moment stops with the mind stopping, the presence is still there. The presence is never not here. But that presence without the illusion of self doesn't have any boundaries, doesn't have any shape, any form, any taste. It doesn't look like anything. It doesn't feel like anything. It is pre-sensory. While the imagined self, well, it feels me.
miserable or it feels confident or it feels good enough or it feels not good enough those feelings constantly change or it it remembers its past but it only remembers its past when it is sober and not drunk When it is awake and not asleep, there's a lot of conditions for even holding on to that seeming memory. But when it remembers its past, it also happens in the presence. When it doesn't remember the past, it also happens in the presence. So remembering and forgetting. Happens in the presence. The entity, the idea of self, running the presence or being presence or being in presence is just an algorithm for the sake of communication and integrity of the whole organism.
Seeing it for what it is doesn't mean that illusion or that helpful algorithm will stop running. You will still go to the hairdresser and tell, I want this, I want a haircut or I want whatever. It's still convenient to relate to this body-mind as to the I or me. There's nothing wrong with that. If you realize that you are relating to that vehicle and not to some imagined soul or ego or whatever you imagine it to be,Relating happens. It's not even you doing it. It is a convenience. It is a fantastic, convenient way of functioning. It's nothing wrong. It's just when it is believed to have real existence.
That there is something little there who is doing something wrong, who is getting something wrong, or who is not getting something and trying to get it. Now there is an I and I'm trying to understand it. There's no one there to understand anything. There's nothing to be understood. You just see life for what it is. It is the opened field of witnessing presence in which everything, thoughts, feelings, emotions, sensations, perceptions, appear and disappear. What is there to understand? Every moment has its content of seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, smelling and thinking. What's there to understand? You are the presence, the space, limitless. And there are thoughts coming and saying, no, no, you are just inside your brain.
Well, let them say whatever they do. In the direct experience, there is no brain. Brain is a thought, it's an image. In the direct experience, there is just being, just presence. In that presence, mental image comes.that I'm this body. Just like when you sleep at night and your body is lying flat on bed and the eyes of the body are closed and the lips of the body are sealed and the ears of the body are deaf, you are dreaming of walking or running or climbing or flying and having fights or conversations or running and seeing the mountains or the hills or the buildings or the room and other people.
In that dream, the body which you are using to experience the dream doesn't exist. It exists for the purpose of dreaming, but it doesn't have existence in this dream. In this waking dream. The waking dream body is lying flat, motionless, while the dreaming body is running and jumping and doing whatever. And it is the same with this dream. Now you are the presence. In the direct experience, you are the presence. And the body that you are using for seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, smelling is only valid in this dream. The same way as the body that you are dreaming in your night dream is only valid in your night dream.
You wake up and the body disappears. The body in which you were running and flying disappears. If you break your leg in the night dream, you're likely to find your leg...perfectly intact when you wake up. When you die, I had a couple of dreams in which I was killed. Lovely, lovely experience. And I woke up and the body was untouched. I was stopped and there was no wounds, nothing. So in the direct experience, the body that you are dreaming for the purpose of this particular dream, in the direct experience, When the dreaming is paused for a moment, it is not there. There is no body.See if without the mental image and mental projection, without looking down or imagining or traveling with your attention to your foot or bum, if there is any experience of it.
Direct experience is just of perception, sensations, vibration. Label, this is the body, this is my body, this is my foot, this is my face, only comes with the dreaming, with the projector, with the mind imagining it. Direct experience without projecting, imagining, relating to yourself as an entity in the body. It's very simple. You are the point in consciousness, experiencing and expressing, using the dream body, but not being the dream body. Just like at night. Just like when you sleep. So what is there to understand? Instead of trying to grasp it and trying to understand it, you just lay back, relax, enjoy the ride. Every moment fresh and new.
Every moment there is a presence that is unchanging, stable, same. still, silent, motionless presence. And in that presence, there is a content, content of seeing, content of hearing, content of thinking, content of speculating, doubting, all of it is just a momentary phenomena. appearing. There's no need to understand any of it. Just notice it, register it, register it. And that's that. The next moment is fresh and new. Same applies. Presence, never changing, always here, like an empty screen or a basic space. And the content. The content may be coming with the value judgment. Oh, but it's cold. I don't like it. Oh, but I'm poor. I don't like it.
Or it can come without the value judgment, just in that open field of curiosity, everything as it is. That moment is as it is. It's not good, it's not bad. It doesn't cause resistance. It doesn't cause desires.Or if it does, that's the content of the moment, which is also as it is. Every step back, every moment of relaxing over so slightly into that field or background, relaxing the investment, the seriousness, the involvement in the dream. Relaxing that overlay of I like it, I want to keep it, or I don't like it, I want to push it away. Oh, what about tomorrow? And what about this trauma or this drama?
Relaxing that overlay of narrative, judgment, identification. And the dream goes on. But it is as it is. It's neither good nor bad. It's just as it is.And it is easy. It's enjoyable because everything moves on. Unpleasant situations last a little bit and then move on. When it's cold and rainy, well, it's cold and rainy. It's not terrible. It's not bad. It's not good. It's cold and rainy. That's it as it is. And then it changes. And if it doesn't, well, okay, fine. We're going to die in the flood. So what? The body is going to expire anyway. There's nothing wrong in anything. If I'm sick, okay, that is as it is.
If I lost my husband, okay, that is as it is. Everything as it is. Without any concepts that things could be or should be any different than they are, there is nothing wrong. With the concept that things should be or would be or could be any different, there still is nothing wrong, provided you recognize that those concepts are just a content. Because if those concepts are believed, well, suffering is inevitable. If I believe that things could be different, for example, Bob could still hang on to the life and he isn't because whatever, maybe I could find, I don't think I could, but... Yeah. Anyway, if I believed that it was possible and it didn't happen, I'm the victim now.The world is my enemy.
The life is evil. And I'm suffering. But if it is as it is, there is absolutely nothing wrong. And I see there's a comment on the screen here. And Jenny says, big love to all. See you on Thursday. Yes, enjoy your day, Jenny, wherever it takes you. Kat, that was brilliant. It's just flowing out. So it's just perfect. And so on the ball, the dreaming at night is the giveaway, isn't it? It really is the giveaway. You're dreaming it. There's a, you know. Believing what's going on in the dream.Yet, there's no, you're not causing anything to happen. It's just happening. You're looking in as if you're, you know, seeing, watching, you know, but not, you know, you know that there's, you're looking in to something, feels like it's a world in its own.
Yeah. Get the sense of that and then you wake up and it's gone. And even in the dream, perhaps it's not the same for everybody, but there's still a sense of that stability, the sameness, the stableness. The unchanging while experiencing, watching things happen, stuff happen. But really, there's, without, paying attention to so-called mind's narration, interpretation of events, and it always comes after,It's just that what's happening is really, it is only that, the vibration in space, which are thoughts, which we call mind, that seemingly gives anything any meaning. Yeah. And what is the word meaning? It's a way of attributing qualities. And it's all arbitrary, totally arbitrary change from one moment to the next and from one vehicle to the next. Why should it, you know, what?
Not ask, it's a rhetorical question, but where's the bother? Where's the bother? What's the problem? Yeah, yeah. Only really if you believe that you're the doer. You're responsible. Yes. You're making things happen, good, bad. Then comes with all of that, all the other end. You're prone to believe all the other vibrations in space that occur about judgment of your behavior or others'behavior. But if really take a look and see, really look, don't just let that conditioning, brainwashing sit with you. Really look. See if you can find a centre, a point, a reference point for Barbie or Ken. A boundary.A limit, even. There's none of that to be found.
There is no... One entity driver of the vehicle there. And that's freedom. Absolutely. Absolute freedom. As you say, Josh, you know, again, wow, what a relief to be able to drop the concept of the little me doing stuff. It's the same thing being said over and over and over again in different ways, you know. There's nothing wrong with that. And as Yvonne was saying, you know, if you realize that this me, which wants to know, which wants to get enlightened, which wants to understand, which wants to get rid of the me, never existed.Who's going to get realized? Who's going to need to get enlightened? Who's going to need to understand anything or get anywhere or become anything or get rid of itself?
There's nothing wrong right at this moment. It's already as it is. If the self, the sense of me is only a sense, is only a passing phenomenon, there's no problem. There's no need to get rid of it. Recognition, simple recognition that life is painting, is appearing, is expressing as it does. If there is an expression of life, feeling like a sense of contraction, of feeling like a desire to understand or to get something or to achieve something or to become someone, then just recognize it is just a thought, it's just a mental construct, it's a fleeting desire. There is no one behind it. And you can see how that construct came into being.
Because I remember when I was a spiritual seeker, and when I first heard about the idea of enlightenment, idea of enlightened masters, idea of liberation, and those who are liberated from human condition, from human suffering, everything inside that whole system called mind, that survival mechanism called mind. I think I... Oh!I thought it was a cat outside. It's a neighbor. Michael, the one next to me. Yeah, sorry for that, guys. Yeah, cats sometimes are outside and they let us know that they want in and we are very obedient. We're well trained. They trained us well, yes. So when there is, how did it come about that idea of wanting something, wanting something grander and greater and bigger and more pleasurable and more enticing?
You know, when I heard the idea of enlightenment and idea of enlightened masters and idea of liberation from suffering, shit, you know, like what is supposed to the processor designed to protect from danger? What it is supposed to do. Obviously, naturally, it develops the obsession about it. Naturally. That pattern, that narrative pattern, which is designed to protect the body from danger, meaning provide pleasure and avoid pain, hearing the idea of eternal bliss, well, obviously, it develops an obsession. So I developed the obsession. My spiritual search was absolute obsessive. Zen sanghas, countless hours of sitting in uncomfortable position, focusing the mind on ideas. Who am I idea or I don't know idea or whatever the Zen sangha actually promoted.
Ashrams and mantras and chantings and all sorts of different shit what I haven't done through life to actually with the obsession of the idea of getting something, understanding something and becoming someone and liberating. Myself from the suffering but the sense of myself the image of myself that wanted to achieve that pleasure was that very cause of the search because there was association or identity of as a deficient broken self that wanted to be complete and full. And if you look for that self, broken or complete, and you find nothing, then again, who is to chase what? And what are we chasing? Chasing the idea of eternal bliss, nirvana, enlightenment.
Liberation and what is that idea is that even doableIs that even possible? Eternal pleasure. Imagine multi-orgasm going on non-stop. So you don't eat, you don't sleep, you don't... Just non-stop. Look out in nature and show me the animal who can function like this for longer than hours. Because again, this mechanism, this vehicle, this Barbie, which is used for the experience and expression of the life essence through the dream, as a dream, in a dream. It has limitations. It can only eat that amount of pleasure. It can only have that amount of orgasm. And if it gets too high on whatever, on drugs or on whatever pleasure, the serotonin shock kills the mechanism.
It kills the brain. The idea of enlightenment being endless ecstasy or nirvana is not only ridiculous, it's impractical and it's impossible. And yet, if it is presented this way, to a mechanism, to the algorithm which is designed to provide pleasure and avoid danger, naturally it becomes a super addictive idea, it becomes an obsession. So the obsessive identity of being not good enough became obsessive identity of spiritual search. I'm a seeker. I'm not my job.I'm not my profession. I'm not my social role or my family role. No, I'm a seeker. This is who I am. This is my true identity. Is it really? Is it really?
Are you a seeker? Is there anyone to be a seeker? Or is it just one of the costumes of Barbie? And if Barbie is wearing only one costume all the time, the costume starts stinking and becomes rigid. Put it down. Enjoy the naked awareness. And strip this. I think Jenny had to leave, but we could honor Jenny's idea of stripping off. Stripping off the costumes, stripping off the idea of being a seeker, of being a person, of being a woman, of being a man, of being Barbie or Ken, of being whatever. And see who you are without the thought. Who are you without any concept whatsoever?
Are you deficient? Without any concept whatsoever. Are you a seeker if you don't think about it? Or you just are? Pure presence, just our beingness. Presence in which there are phenomena arising and responses to phenomena arising. If the piece of pizza lands in the stomach, the acids or juices, digestive enzymes are responding to that piece of pizza that just landed. If there is a hand grenade, exploding in the vicinity, then the ears and the eyes and the arms and legs are responding to whatever is happening. You're not doing any of it. If there is someone blinking at you and making advances, well, again, the body is responding, just like the body of a peacock is responding to another peacock.
There is no undoing any of it. You may just rest, relax and see what the next response is going to be. Just like in the dream, the body is responding. The dream character is responding. The environment is dancing with the dream character. Situation arises and the response arises. What is my next response going to be? Who knows? Let me see. Let me find out. And now, what about the idea of becoming something better? That's it. That's just an idea. Translate that idea to Mandarin Chinese and then see how attractive is that. It's just an idea. The seriousness or the belief or relating that idea to an imagined self makes it highly inflammatory and causing the suffering.
But if you see it for what it is, it's just an idea on the screen of awareness, not my idea. Not idea related to me, the person who is not enough, who needs to get somewhere or get liberated or understand something. There really is no...to understand. And the one who wants to understand it, again, is the dead, insentient algorithm. Even if there was an understanding, there was a formula. And you would have that formula written down and given, handed over on a silver platter. The algorithm would swallow the formula and so what? The situation would be just as it is, with or without the alleged understanding.
Sar Gadada says understanding is all, but he also says it's the right understanding. And the right understanding is you are. You already are. You already know that you are. And that existence or that beingness is all. This is everything. This is the reality. Everything else is not the reality. It's an illusion. It's a dream. Existence is reality. The costume in which the existence experiences itself is a dream. Reality dreams itself a body. It dreams itself a separate self. It dreams itself a role of a seeker trapped in the dream trying to get out of it. It is a dream. The reality is that you are.
And that you are, you know, there's nothing else to know. There's something less to know. For example, you may know that you are a body. That's bullshit. Throw it out. You may think you know you are a person, you are a man or a woman or Australian or British. That's rubbish. That's a concept. You weren't born as any of it.So that you are, you already know, that's the final understanding. That's the absolute truth. That you are. Thou art that. That you are. Mahavakya, the great mantra. That you are. That I am. I know that I am. Not what I am. What I am, I can't know.
But that I am, I can't. Unknown. I can't forget. I can't deny. What I am is a different story. That's the Nama Rupa, name and form. When I ask what I am and I can produce thousands of thousands of concepts in every dream, I can change the concepts every five minutes as the mood is changing. I can change colors. I can change roles. I can list out hundreds of roles that I had in life. And that I can adopt as that flexible life essence. But I'm neither of those. But that I am is the only reality. Sat Chit Ananda, being, knowing, loving to be, that's the reality.
Sameness, stillness, silence, what was it, the stability, the immovable background, the pure solid block of knowing, being, knowing. The open field of being knowing. That is the reality. Everything else is a fleeting phenomena, is a dream, is a movie on the screen. That you are. You already know. You already understand it. There's nothing else to understand. You already know everything that ever needed to be known. If there is a pattern of behavior of looking for something more, well, that's just a natural function of survival mechanism in the narrative. Let it run. If the animals had the narrative, they would probably be narrating whatever is happening with them.
You know, when the cat is hungry, it meows. It seeks food. When it gets cold, it comes and hops to one of us and gets warm. We are the portable heaters for them. But it doesn't narrate. It doesn't refer anything to me. It doesn't have a story running. Oh, there is something wrong with me. Oh, I'm cold. Why am I cold? How am I going to get warm tomorrow? Why haven't I been cold yesterday? They don't have that function. Their survival mechanism only appears as action. So if there is a thirst, there is an action movement towards water and there is drinking. When there is a bladder full, there is a movement towards the kitty litter and there is emptying the bladder happening.
But with humans, there is a lot more going on.There is a lot of story, a lot of narration, a lot of interpretation, a lot of judgment going on. Just because we have a little bit more elaborated, sophisticated survival mechanism that has additional functions. Additional functions like sharing the stories, joining in the bigger groups. Now we are all seekers. Oh, okay. We are seekers of non-duality under Sailor Bob, whatever. Now we are all somehow connected. We are one big family. Isn't that lovely? Or we all women, or we all men, or we all Australians, or whatever. Beautiful function. But in the dream, it brings colors and juice to the dream.
It's nothing wrong if the dream, the life itself, experience itself as a wife or a widow or a lover or a friend. Or a member of particular church or conspiracy, there's nothing wrong. This is why the dream goes on, so the life can experience and express itself as everything. It's just life when it recognizes itself and when it knows dream to be a dream. It relaxes, sits back in the box chair, or what do you call it, box seat, yes, and enjoys the unfolding, which is effortless. You don't know your next thought. Enjoy the unfolding.unfolding. Relax and wait for it. Let me hear it. Let me see it.
Let me feel it. Let me see what life is going to bring in a minute. How cool. Nothing needs to be done. Nothing needs to be understood. Nothing needs to be understood. Nothing needs to be get rid of. Just the joy of being and discovering moment by moment. The dreaming, how the dream unfolds. And knowing that you are the space. You can't be hurt. You can't die. The body can be hurt and the body will experience pain, of course. Without it, it wouldn't experience pleasure. So you can put up with a little bit of a pain for the sake of pleasure. Not that you have any choice in the matter.
But understanding the bigger picture is quite okay. Gosh, I'm rumbling. Anyone? Anyone? Anything? Questions? Objections? Comments? We have three more minutes. Josh, come in. Uh, Yeah, it's good. I kind of wanted to... Ask about Well, honestly, I have no idea. But I just thought I'd put my hand up to connect.Something that... Resonated with me a lot. Is just the kind of spaciousness, I guess, or the, Everything is...Just appearing. It's strange because... You know, if I wanted to ask to say something about it, And like an idea came to me. The idea itself is only really can only ever, you know, pop into, what we're experiencing or reality and then pop.
Right out again. It comes in and out and, uh, Yeah. The fact of being aware of presence. And then I guess the fact that there's no individual being present, there's only presence itself. It's like the ultimate... You know, when you were kids and you kind of have these, these discussions where you're like playing pretend or something. I was remembering a memory came up earlier today where, you know, when I waswhere there was this child and I at the age of five and we were having like, we're like, oh, I'm a superhero. I'm like, I can beat you. Okay, well, I'm God or I'm the universe. Presence or space is the thing that like always comes out as the, undefeated kind of final boss.
Because nothing can, you know, the sword can't cut it. Fire can't burn it. There's nothing in manifestation that can harm or affect awareness in any way, which, wow, that's quite, and that's what we are really like.So that's comforting, but it's also just the truth, I suppose. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, that's right. Marianne just says here, I must go. Thanks and love to all. Oh, it's actually time already. And Mari says, thank you, Kat, so clear. Go on, Kat, says Yvonne. Yes, Josh, simple, isn't it? Yeah.Yeah, I didn't actually hear a question in your saying, but it probably wasn't a question, was it? No. No, okay. Just ended up a bit of rambling with Lauren.
But that's fine. You're just, you know, articulating in... You know, the way it's seen, it's fine. There's nothing wrong with that. Yeah. Okay. And Sally says thank you. And Shane says thank you. And I guess that would be a time to wrap it up. So thank you, everyone. Thank you for contributing. And see you on Thursday. Thank you. Bye-bye. Bye. Bye, everyone. Thank you. Bye-bye. Bye.
