We are starting now. We are starting from Sando and H. We have Michael and H. We are starting! Julia, and Jane, Kavisha, Nilsa, Tris, Jared, Carl, Sarah, Marnie, Ed, Andy, Ross, David, Tivor, Lachie, Dane, Mitra, and Bob. Thank you. Well, we start off from the start, the beginning, which is, when you look at it, there's no beginning and no ending. It's still what it's like. I can't teach you anything, and I can't tell you anything. All I can do is point toward and ask you to look to where I'm pointing to to see for yourself. Because no matter what you've been told, or no one what you believe, there is no one that can teach you anything, or no one that can tell you anything.
Because what we talk about is called Advaita, non-duality. One without a second, not two, only that. That's all there is. And if that's all there is, who is there to teach you anything or what to tell you anything? Another way I put it, I'm not speaking to anybody. I'm not speaking to any mind. I'm speaking to that I am that I am. That sense of presence that expresses and translates through the mind as that thought I am. Not to the thought, but to the sense of presence, the knowing that you are. And is there anyone here who is not present and aware right now? And that's how they translate Advaita, Sat Chittananda, Nama Rupa, or existence, consciousness, bliss, name and form.
Anyone who is not existing right now? No, you'll say I'm existing. Of course you are. Anyone who is not conscious, or anyone who is unaware? No, you're not unconscious, or you're not unaware. Anyone who is not happy to be? Well, nobody wants to be dead right now. So you must be already that. So who or what is seeking? And what are you seeking? It's just a matter of recognizing your true nature. Recognizing. And the Buddha called it a cognizing emptiness. Not that we are cognizing emptiness, but the emptiness itself has that capacity of cognizing. And he made the statement then that emptiness is form. Pointing out that all this manifestation, all these patterns, are nothing but forms.
And he turned it around and said, the form can be nothing other than the emptiness. So emptiness is form, and form is emptiness. And they call it the basic space of phenomena. When they talk about basic space, they mean the base of it all is space. And what's the first thing you see? It goes unnoticed most of the time. The very first thing you see closest to your eyeballs is space. The next thing you see might be some object outside of there. And we don't notice the space. We notice the objects in space. It's the basic space of phenomena is that which is. And isness is not was.
And it's not what will be. It just is right now. And nobody is unaware right at this moment. But what's happened? We call ourselves human beings. Taking on the world word human. And we've taken on a lot of words. We've taken on the words we are this separate entity, this individual. But when you look at the word and investigate the word, you'll see the word's not real. Take the word water. Try and drink the word if you can. Try and swim in the word or drown in it. Take the water fire. See if you can cook with it or hurt yourself with it. Or burn yourself with the word.
You can't. So what's this word I or me? You take it to be this person, this separate entity. Where does that word person come from? You realise you look it up and it comes from the ancient Latin, I think it is, persona, the mask. Try and pointing out we've got this mask of identity. When we give ourselves this label or word. A conceptual image. Which obscuring our true nature. So these things need to be looked at and recognised. Because we've taken on this idea of a separate entity. How did you come about? Well you'll say I was born. But have a look at that. Can you remember your birth?
There's no one here, no matter what you believe or think you believe, can remember your birth. How could you when you had no words at birth? And you didn't know any words until you were about two. Two and a half. When the capacity of reasoning developed in you. As the little baby grew. And it learnt words. From its parents fussing around. And parents tell you, your little Johnny or your little Jane or your little so and so. Put the labels of words on you. And from then on you believe them. If somebody asks you who you are, you'll say I am Johnny or Jane. Or whatever my name might be.
Not realising. It's all the one essence. The one life. The one reality. That's patterning, shaping, forming. And experiencing, expressing as everything. And you and I and everything else is that. That is the great mantra. I am that. And everybody knows that. Because you say, that's the chair I'm sitting in. That's the room the chair is in. That's the space in the room. That's the tree. That's the flower. Everything is that which we put words or labels on. Which discriminate things with the word. And we get locked up in the word. Also tells you in the Bible. In the beginning was the word. The word was with God.
The word was God. All things were made by him by the word. That's all that God is, is the word. All things were made by the word. And that's true. There was nothing made that was made. Have a look at it. You've got words for everything. We picked up in there. And when you recognise the word is not real. What is the reality? Can you negate your presence? Your beingness? You call yourself a human being. And if you believe in God, you'll call God the supreme being. What happens if you take that word human away? And take that word supreme? Anyone in this room can tell you you're not being right now.
You can't. So you are that beingness. A pure being. And that's another way they express the such at an end. Being, knowing and loving to be. You are being right now. And you are knowing that. And nobody wants to be dead right now. So you already are that. And that's what we miss on. We miss out of. We've taken the idea that we are this separate entity. And we think we need to become. Realised or recognised or liberated. Or something. But becoming is not being. And it never will be. Because becoming implies a future time. When you investigate the concept of time. Is there a time?
Is there a past if you don't think about it? Try and find out. Have a look. You'll say I was in the past. And you have to think about it. But if you're not thinking about it. Can you say there's a past? Or a future? Or a present? So is there a present and future if you don't think about it? You can't live in the past. You can't live, go back and live a moment ago. And you can't live in the future. You can anticipate and imagine the future. But you can't live in the future. And this presence. How long does it last? You realise it's spontaneous.
You say now. And as you say now. It's already ending and beginning again. It's a spontaneous, ever fresh presence awareness. Or a beingness. A knowingness. And a loving to be. It's at your end. It's there in front of our eyes all the time. And we don't notice it. That's why they tell us in the scriptures. It's ignorance. We think we hear that term. We're dull or stupid. It doesn't mean that at all. It's the meaning. All it means is we're ignoring what's before our very eyes and not noticed. Because you don't notice the space. The space is taken for granted. It's no thing. We want to get occupied with the things in space.
The content. And miss out what is appearing in it. It's that space like awareness. A cognising emptiness. Have a look at it. Can you get out of space? Is there such a thing as anything at all outside of space? It's all appearing. All seemingly so. But this reality is the space like awareness. There's nothing you can postulate or think of that. It's all appearing. All seemingly so. Everything is the content of space. Everything is the content of space. Everything is the content of space. And there's nothing you can postulate or think of that could be outside of space. Everything is the content of space. Don't notice the space.
We're all locked into the content. Anyone who is unaware of the content of space. It's all appearing. It's all appearing. All seemingly so. But it's reality. It's the space like awareness. There's nothing you can postulate or think of that could be outside of space. Everything is the content of space. But we don't notice the content. Don't notice the space. Or it's locked into the content. Anyone who is unaware right now? No. You know you are aware. So you are that already. Where did you begin? We'll go back and have a look at that if you think you're a separate entity of person. You believe you are this body-mind.
How am I the body? You're saying, my body, my mind, fire, water, space, just like the elements around you. Take the air out of your body. So I know I can't do that. I can't do that. I can do that. I can do that. I can do that. I can do that. I can do that. I can do that. I can do that. I can do that. I can do that. I can do that. I can do that. I can do that. I can do that. My mind, fire, water, space, just like the elements around you. Take the air out of your body, it's out on your nose.
Take the fire, the body temperature. Take the water, get out of space. You can't. So you're not separate from these elements. All these elements can be broken down into subatomic particles, into pure energy. So this body is nothing but a vibrating pattern of energy. As Einstein told you years ago, he says it's all energy. He says I was working on this problem for days and weeks and nights, couldn't find an answer. One night I went to sleep and there it was, next morning it was there. Not that he thought it out, but it comes up from that innate intelligence energy, that life essence that you are.
And that's the same with this. We think we can think, but the thinker is not the thought. And the thought I think cannot think. As soon as you think, what's your next thought going to be? Nobody can tell me. You'll say, I can't tell you what my next thought is. But the thought comes up. And you say, I think. As soon as you say, I think, what have you done? You've formed a subject. A thinker. And the thought has become the object. So there it is. Subject, object, thinking. Dualism. And there can't be a thinker without thinking. And there can't be the thought without thinking.
And Shakespeare told you three or five hundred years ago, there's nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so. Have a look at the way you think. Is it either in the past or the future? It's either present or past, future, high, low, near and far. Always in the vibrating opposites. Always vibrating in the pure opposites. But we take the opposites to be real. But they're two sides of the one coin. Two ends of the one stick. And in the sense of taking to be opposites, it's the sense of separation. And with that sense of separation comes insecurity. Vulnerability. Fear. Anxiety. Depression. Guilt. Jealousity.
All your psychological problems come about. From that thinking. And there's nothing either good or bad with thinking, likes to say. So you look at the body. I'm not the body. What about the mind? Am I this mind? We think about this mind. I am this mind. Anyone show me a thing called mind? When you look at the mind, what is it? It's nothing but thought. What is thought? Sound. Words. What sound are words? Vibration. Energy. So it's all vibrating patterns of energy which we divide and separate with the so-called thing called mind. and that causes all sorts of problems. But you know it in your language when you look at it.
Something comes up and you're not concerned with it. They say, can I do this? You'll say, I don't mind. And if you don't mind, you don't do anything about it, do you? What about the other one? Something comes up and you say, it doesn't matter. Well, if it doesn't matter, that means it hasn't solidified. And then you see spirit and matter are two ends of the one stick. Spirit is the essence of things and matter is the solidity. Steam, water and ice. The three aspects of it in nature. Thought, feeling and emotion. The three aspects of it in this human pattern. Thought will come up, then the sensation there a while and the feeling will come, the feeling will be there and then the emotion comes up.
And when the emotion has come up, what's it done? Stirred up the blood pressure, all the psychological things and problems. And we're in this anger or fear or depression. All concepts, all thoughts. And Shakespeare has told us there's nothing either good or bad but thinking, most of us. So, necessary to look along those lines and see for yourself. I am not this body. I'm not this mind. I am this life itself. As Christ told you when he says, I am the way. I am the truth. I am the life. People thought he was talking about himself. He wasn't talking about himself. He was talking about that sense of presence.
It expresses through the mind as the thought I am. Not the self. There is only one self. They tell you that in all the different scriptures. Atman. Or Brahma self. Or Krishna self. Or whatever. Only the one self. And we've got this personal self. But the person is not reality. So, where did you come into it? How did you come about? Well, go back as your father and your mother. That animating life essence, that intelligence energy in your father enabled in that pattern a little microscopic particle called a sperm to form. A little blob of goo. You can't see it with your naked eye. But that sperm was suffused with intelligence.
It knew what to do. And the same in your mother. That animating life essence in your mother, that intelligence energy enabled in that pattern another microscopic particle called an egg or an ovum to form. That egg was suffused with intelligence energy. It knew what to do. It attached itself to the wall of the uterus. And the sperm knowing what to do swam to the ovum. And those two mingling together doubled and redoubled and formed the little embryo, the little fetus, which is what you are to do today. What were you doing about it then? Nothing. Because there was no belief in you or separate entity or individual that could do anything.
But it happened by itself. And it's still the same intelligence energy that's doing it today. But we've learnt these words and taken on the form and believed that it's me or I, the conceptual image, that's doing all these things. But I cannot do anything at all. And have a look at it. Go out there in nature and take a leaf from nature. The natural state. See how nature is working. It's daylight here right now and the other side of this globe it is dark. And what's the earth doing? It's rolling around the sun. As this earth moves away from the sun so this part will become dark.
And now the part will face the sun and it will become daylight. Does the earth know anything about daylight and dark? Or does daylight and dark know anything about it? Nothing. It's the way it's happening, functioning. It's the same as it's beating your heart. It's growing your hair and your fingernail. It's digesting your food. It's causing the seasons to come and go. The tides to come in and out. It's breathing and eating your heart as I said. It's doing all these things. It's late, late life essence. And it's the one essence that's expressing, patterning, shaping, as forming, as everything. And if you see that, it's inseparable.
It's indivisible. What must it be? It must be, as they tell us, the absolute. Or the great, or in Buddhism they call it the great perfection. What can you add to the perfect? Not the least little thing. It wouldn't be perfect if you could. What can you take away from it? Nothing. It wouldn't be the perfect if you could take anything away. The same with the absolute. What can you add to absolute? Nothing whatsoever. What can you take away? Nothing. If you recognise you are absolute, who can ever be superior to you? No one or nothing. Who can ever be inferior to you? No one or nothing.
And what would you want from anybody else? So don't you see that's where all our problems come from? We've taken the belief we're separate and we want this and want that and fear this one and that one. Jealous of this one or envious of that one. Moves away from our absoluteness into the idea of a separate entity and suffer accordingly. Because it's only me that can be fearful. Only me can be anxious. Only me that can be jealous or envy. Me is the cause of all my psychological problems. And the effects are the anger, the fear, the depression, the jealousy, the anger, the guilt. Cause and effect.
What's that? Well you know that cause and effect is what they call karma. Everybody's worried about this karma. But what happens if you look into it and recognise that the cause, me, is affection? and ask yourself a simple question. If I'm not relating to a cause, can there be an effect if it's not related to a cause? When you're not relating to the cause, how can there be any effect? So there's a way to be rid of all your psychological suffering. Recognise the cause as a fiction and you are not the cause, you are the inseparable, indivisible, pure, intelligence energy or life essence, the absolute.
And see what happens then to your fear, your anxiety, your stress. And what's left? Without all those concepts, there is a sense of presence there, an absoluteness, a sense of being well, of nothing wrong anymore. And there are people in here already who have recognised that and know that and understood of it. And others of you that might have started to look at it, got away from the ideas where you were a sinner and a miserable creature into all these religions and had to do this and do that. Realise that that innate intelligence that beingness and living is the one essence of its patterning, shaping, forming, experiencing and expressing as everything in this manifestation and you are already that, takes away all this conceptual rubbish that we're tangled up in.
So wouldn't it be imperative that you have a look along these lines and see for yourself? You don't have to and some of you won't. But some of you will and some of you have and that's how it's been passed down through the ages and will continue to be passed on. And it's been carried on from here and so that's why we ask you that those of you that understand it don't hesitate to tell us about it because something might be said that's different to this that somebody else might resonate with and recognise and might be the thing that takes it home. And others that haven't understood it might hear it and take them home.
It'll be valuable then but hanging on to it yourself it won't be much good at all. So away you go. Get into it. I'll leave you to that. Night, Kat. Blasted Kat. Take it up there. I know. I'm sharing. I'm sharing it. Yeah? Thank you. Yes. So we have over 20 people with us but no questions just morning good morning my people. So the mic goes to you guys anyone would like to bring up what you actually understand what's clear about the message because everyone was born into natural state and everyone is aware of existence and this is really what it is about so everyone knows already but for some habitual reason I'd say we just overlook it we just ignore it so what is that that you know already and you're not ignoring bring it up or if you have questions Kavisha wonderful I was just thinking that you know depending on where you were brought up and what religion and all that your family is you get you get put a lot of conditioning on you and you for love like love is the currency and you know if you don't do what your mum says you know she'll say a hard word or your dad will say a hard word and your teacher will say a hard word so you you're kind of until you know your inner freedom you're a prisoner of all these people pushing you here pushing you there in your job in your work in your life and and and a lot of people don't know that they can find that freedom and so I was just reflecting on that I mean we can talk about freedom but we we got brought up not being taught that we are free we got taught we had to obey yeah when you mention love that's very good a lot of people get the wrong take on that too they say God is love if God is love love must be God so that's the godliness in you that's expressing as that sensation that feeling that freshness comes everybody's got the taste of it can have the taste sometimes it's not there it's there alright but it's forgotten or ignored covered covered or translated or translated as something else because it is really the attention but I love when you actually call the attention love because it is one of the same it is all one really and how could you love anything if you weren't that if it wasn't coming from if you wouldn't you know it's you were already that it's coming you couldn't love anything if you weren't love itself Parkinson's blood there's a lot of conditions that we put on our our sense of happiness and they're all thoughts this is why why why why why why why why why why why why why why why why why why and everything you think is for yourself he says there isn't one and all those conditioning and strategies that Kavisha was mentioning they actually become completely unconscious so trying to break free from something that you don't even know that limits you that's a little bit of a challenge and that's why Bob invites everyone to watch the mind see how it operates see how it functions see all the escaping strategies see all the behaviors, you know, for looking for that attention or that love, for finding the approval or basically just finding your way in the society.
Because animals have those strategies as well. Those are just part of the survival mechanism. But when they are brought to consciousness, the narrative about them can be broken or it can actually ease off. Whether it is broken or not, it doesn't matter if it's not recognized and identified as something that is me. If this is not my strategy, but the bodily strategy, it's not a problem anymore. Like strategy, for example, being charmingly shy. That was one of my strategies of surviving us most of my life. Just being invisible, another one. Just so you don't stand out, nobody's going to hurt you. I don't understand how someone so beautiful can think they're not going to stand out.
Oh my goodness. I'm joking. True. It's funny the games we play in our mind. Like I look at you and I think, wow, Kat's so beautiful. She's radiant, you know. And I was shocked to hear that you were practicing being invisible, you know, when you were younger. Amazing. Amazing. Thank you. Thank you. Yeah, like Julia said, this is all thought, you know. You believe the thought that you are unworthy, that you are not good enough, that you are out of place, that nobody likes you, nobody wants you here. All those thoughts, when they are taken seriously, then cause, like Bob says, the me is the cause and the psychological suffering follows.
And when the mind is believed, oh my goodness, what a hell. Yes, yes, yes. And then changing the story or changing the thought. Now, oh yeah, okay, I'm not bad, but I'm just average. Come on, look around. There are people in worse position. Well, that's a funny way of making yourself feel better. Not very noble way. But whatever the story is, oh, the narcissistic story, oh, I'm so smart, I'm so great. All of those stories are limiting. Of course, there are stories that cause immense suffering, suicidal depression and, you know, just darkness. And there are stories that are limiting and causing that suffering in a little bit of a easier way, like, you know, competition, comparison, all that stuff.
But it's still limiting. Every story is always a story about the body. And as Bob was saying, if you look, if you really look, are you the body? Sometimes we may say, oh no, I'm the mind that runs the body. But are you really? What is running the body? What is growing the hair? What is beating the heart? Maybe you are that. But that's not the mind. That's not the narrative. That's not that little blah, blah commentary, which translates the urges of the bodies and behaviors of the bodies and states of the bodies into the idea that this is I. I am hungry. I am angry.
I am sad. I am reading. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy.
I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I to a thought or to the mind or to the body. You think? I don't really know what to say as usual, but there's this... it's felt like for a long time that there was this conditioning. So there's this like... and it's been constantly upgraded. Every second, every stimulus, everything is upgrading.
The neural network is one way of describing it. And it's a constant upgrade. And then I realized I am this conditioning. I am this... until one day Bob, it might have been Gilbert actually, turned around and said... I think this was going on for a long time. And then I realized the thing that's expressing is like a computer. It's just blurting out this program that's been influenced by infinite factors. And there's a genetic blueprint as well within it. And all this is sort of describing and defining who I am. Until one day... I think it was Gilbert, but it's from what Bob said. He said, what are you without that conditioning?
Or what are... you know... What's wrong with right now if you don't think? Pretty much. And the story... because the conditioning actually is a story too. That drops. And it's like, wow. I actually... not the history, not the story, not any of that either. Which means... where does that leave you? It's this. Just this. This-ness. Expressed as whatever that is. Without any explanations, descriptions, analysis. But they were all useful at one point. Until they weren't. Until they were actually a hindrance. And then that's let go too. And that's all I want to share. Thank you. Beautiful. Pretty good for somebody else. Bob wants to say something.
Bob wants to say something. Come on. The word belief was mentioned. It's an understanding of that word belief. The definition of belief is an unquestioned acceptance of something in the absence of reason. Acceptance of an alleged fact without putting positive knowledge or proof. If you put your belief to that test and see if they'll stand up to it. And they tell you also, the false cannot stand up to investigation. So investigate these things. Have a look. And know the truth. And the truth will set you free. Thanks Bob. And the phrase he's saying, where is all your conditioning when you don't think about it? That's the one, yeah.
Yeah. Mitra, do you want to say something? I feel like I bring all the conversation to a very elementary, basic level. Sorry about that. No, that's good. That's grounded. So when you say we are the... So as you said, we are just this, right? So this is that sense of aliveness, right? This sense of, you know, presence. So this is it. As simple as that, right? This is just as simple, right? Yeah. Has it done a fact? You are alive. You're alive. Yeah. Isn't that a fact? Yeah. As simple as nothing. Yeah. And then... Okay. So that's very simple, I guess. But? There is always a but.
But yeah, I mean, okay. So if that is as simple as that, right? So for example, if I... I'm not just going through my illusion, right? So this is felt in my body, right? So at least the boundary, within the boundary of my skin, there is... I can feel that aliveness and presence. But right at the boundary, a little bit out. I don't feel that, right? But when I close my eyes, I actually... That boundary dissolves, right? Right? But there is a serious sense of aliveness inside the skin and there is nothing outside. Like, okay, when even the boundary dissolves, I agree, but yeah, when the boundary dissolves...
When you close your eyes, how do you know where the skin is and where the skin isn't? I agree with you. So why it's interviewing? Yeah, but you know, something like, so now there is a... There is a looking, right? So where... So that's a presence, I agree, and there is not even when my eyes are closed, there is nothing inside. Right? And the boundaries are not felt. But then, where the hell does looking come from then? Yeah, yeah. Who wants to know? Who wants to know? Yeah, yeah. But... Ego? Ego? No, no, that's a... no. Just find out the one that is really curious because that's a wonderful question.
Where is the seeing coming from? It seems like it's coming from like absolute void, nothingness, mystery, who knows? But there is still someone who is very curious to find out. So what is that curious thing that wants to find out? So it's the importance of that... Do you want it to say something? No? Well... I'm sorry. When you're looking outside of the skin, what's there? Space? Space. Mm-hmm. Go back and look what's inside. Sorry? Go back and look what's inside. Like... Can you see your brain? Can you see what's inside? No. The space, empty. Yeah, it's empty. So? You are the co-organising emptiness. Emptiness is for...
No. The space, empty. Yeah, it's empty. So? You are the co-organising emptiness. Emptiness is for... And the form is empty. Yeah. All these forms are adornments. Driftings on it. Appearance. Yeah. Forms are only single, you say. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.... So, that question that you said, who is curious about this, because if I'm the whole life, I mean, the life, I don't think, there you go. Gives a damn about knowing this or not knowing, agree, or not. There you go. But. gives a damn about knowing this or not knowing, agree or not.
Yeah, absolutely. Because it feels very neutral to me when I go to it, right? Space is neutral. Space is neutral. It doesn't really care to wake up or not or whatever. Who is the seeker? Or doesn't. Everything can be broken down into space. It's only an adornment that's attaching onto. You attach onto the forms that are appearing in space. But emptiness is form and form is emptiness. So it's the one thing appearing to me different. The appearance is a phenomenal manifestation. Right. You go to sleep at night, you dream a dream. Yeah. Very real. Very real. When you wake up, where is it? Gone. Was it ever there?
No. But it appeared to be. What was that? Is this imagination as well? Yes. It is? It is. This is an imagination. We're dreaming together. As Nisaka did it tell you, dreaming a dreamer called the world. We're dreaming this dream. He says stop looking for ways out. Don't believe him. Prove it to yourself. Yeah. Don't ask, oh really? OK. I'm going to believe you. No. No, no, no. I really, yeah, I know. But I just wonder why do you even say that? Because this is happening. You can experience it. You can experientially know it, that that's true. You don't have to believe it. See who, who is the eye?
I'm very confused. Like you say, this is a dream, like a dream at night. Dream. As bad as the dream at night. Yeah. That's unreal. Well, you dream at night and all those things appear in that dream when you wake up in the morning. Yeah. They all disappear. When you wake up from where you left off the night before, all these things are still here and it carries on from there. As Nisaka said, when you realise that your dream, the dream you call the world, stop looking ways out. The dream is not your concern. Your concern is your love one part of the dream and not the other.
He says, love all of it or none of it and the rest will be done for you. And that's a fact. What's your next thought going to be? You don't know. Think it will come up, what's your next feeling? Things happen by themselves. Right. I'm still wondering about what you said about this is a dream now. This is not real. This is not. It doesn't appear real to you? It appears, but appearance, the definition of phenomena is that which appears to be. It's a phenomenal manifestation. What is real then? What is your experience right then? What is reality then? There is only reality. Absolute being.
What is reality? What is reality? No, not in reality. What does space think about it? No, not in reality. What does space think about it? Just for a moment. Right. Just for a moment. Just for a moment. Just get into that void from which the seeing comes out. What does space think about what's happening? Real, unreal. Similar to the dream, not similar to the dream. You are that space like awareness. What questions does that space that you are have? See who is questioning. It's not the space. As you said, space is neutral. Yeah. Space doesn't do the questioning. Space doesn't need the definition. Yes, that's also, that was my question actually before this becomes a question.
So, who cares really? I mean, what is that that wants to wake up? What is that that cares? That's a good question. That's a very good question. You're looking at that. The belief. The belief that you are this person. The belief that I am this person wants to wake up. That belief is, has intelligence. Oh. What? It needs to be seen as a belief. So, the belief actually wants that. How crazy is that? No. Belief doesn't. The middle of the word belief is lie. There is, there is, well, if we come back to the principle, there is only one and that one is life. This is the life essence.
So, it's only life. Now, that life trapped in the belief started associating itself with a person. It's still life. It's still that energy. Bob calls it energy of belief. So, the energy of belief came into that imagined structure called, called I. So, now, that life, because that life is the only thing that is sentient in there. The structure is imagined. It's not sentient. The belief is imagined. It's not sentient. It can't want to wake up. But there is, in that structure, there is a sense of uneasiness and limitation. And there is loving to be and longing for the truth. Right. So, that longing, that energy is still the energy of belief.
longing for the cosmic union or absolute. Right. It's trapped in the image of the I. Now, if the energy is relaxed of the image of the I, does it need to wake up? No. It's already awakened. Right. So, the I can never, ever awaken the I. Because the I is already awakened. The life is already awakened. Awaken. It's already awakened. It's trapped in the idea of self. You know? It's like the actor starting to believe, let's say, that someone plays Brutus or Julius Caesar and believes to be a Brutus or Julius Caesar. How can the actor find out or liberate itself from the role? It's absolutely impossible.
So, it's the energy. You realize it's not the role. Yeah. It's an energy. That's why you can't find it. Yeah. Correct. It's just an energy. It's a trapped energy in a false belief. Okay. Now, can you get rid of that energy? No. Yeah. You can't destroy it. I can't. I cannot. Maybe you can relax it. I can relax it. I mean, it's not even you relaxing the energy. It's really the energy of belief flowing into, relaxing back into, out of the trap. It's not even you doing anything. Yeah. It's not even you doing anything. Okay. Now, it makes sense. Thank you so much for this clarification.
But still, I'm wondering if this is real. Like, when I see things right now, it's just where this thing comes from. Like, it's amazed me. But I can't. Yeah. Who is amazed? Because this is precisely what you look for. Who is amazed where the thing comes from? Who wants to awaken? Who wants to find the energy? Who wants to find the energy? Right? You answered that. Well, you don't need my answer. You have to have your own experience, your own looking. My answer is rubbish. It's not valid for you. It has to be your answer. Right. What should I look for now? What is, I really wonder what is reality.
Look for who is looking. Who is looking? Look for who is looking. What is looking? What wants to know? What is that seeker? Who is that I that wants to know? Who am I? What is I? And see what you can find. As you look who is looking, you find space. I feel like I'm going to find nothing. Well, don't be so sure. Right. Okay. Even if that's the correct answer. It's obvious though. Even if that's the correct answer. Yeah. Okay. Obvious though. Obvious though. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Obvious is the mind. See, we have the comment here from Catherine. James reminds you of what Bob says.
If you are looking for the answer in the mind, it is the wrong instrument. So you will never find the answer. Even if it's obvious. Who says it's obvious? That's always mind having those descriptions. I look within a thousand times and there is nothing there. You can look millions. And what do they say? Don't you know you are the no thing? Yes. Well, you're seeing nothing. You can't see. You're recognizing your true nature. I am that no thing. I'm that no thing. Yeah. Yeah. You have to actually be really convinced by yourself that there is nothing to be found. It doesn't matter who thousand people tell you.
You can ask all the Buddhas and Jesus whoever. But it has to be your truth. Until you see it clearly. Mitra Buddha. Mitra Buddha. Yeah. Okay. Thank you so much. I took so much time. Yeah. The people. It's just that like using the mind is like using a microscope to look at the stars. It's never going to work. Yeah. You know. Brilliant. Like. Yeah. Yeah. I love it. I think I'm convinced. I can be more convinced. I think I'm convinced you said. I think I'm convinced. Yeah. That is not a certainty. That is a thinking. It is good for the mind is convinced and it gets out of the way.
I am convinced but I have emotional attachment to it. Yeah. Who is convinced? Look at that too. The moment you're convinced. You've lost it. Mm-hmm. That's right. Yeah. I have a seat. Right. And. Bob wants to say something. And nothing doesn't mean a vacuum or a voice. It means no thing. No shape. No form. Right. It's not nothing. It's no. No. Not zero. It's no thing. You're a thing. I'm a thing. Everything in this manifestation is a thing. Can something come from nothing? It can't. Space is no thing. But everything is the content of space. Space is no thing. It's still all no thing. Space like awareness.
So, how we perceive a word can depend on who's using it. That's the problem. One of the problems with words. Is like I can say the word love and somebody might think sex or somebody else would think romance and someone would think God and all these different concepts about what we think. And then we think that's the problem. And then we think that's the problem. And then we think that's the problem. And then we think that's the problem. So, how we perceive a word can depend on who's using it. So, how we perceive a word can depend on who's using it. That's the problem. One of the problems with words is like I can say the word love and somebody might think sex or somebody else would think romance and someone would think God and all these different, you know, concepts about what we think something is.
So, I think there's some good words that just like if you come to explore them because you're looking for what's real. What is real to you? What is that? What do you think is reality? What is truth? And that's something that might because you're like, oh, is it real? What is reality? And I really found a definition that I mean, I like this one. That which never changes. Okay. It's a especially with truth. I love it with truth. And the reality is as well, it's that which never changes. So, if it changes and I told you I had a hamburger for breakfast. I only had one breakfast and I said I only had a pizza for breakfast.
And you're like, well, yeah, your spidey senses are going off and you're like, you're BS. Wait a minute. Something changed. Maybe there's something not true in that. And the same is with reality. Okay. So, I heard you use the word ego as though there's such a thing. Okay. But isn't that a word? And that word like isn't it like maybe you could say maybe it may be more accurate to see there's going apparently. Okay. There seems to be anyway. There seems to be going which is identifying as a me that can exist. Right. I don't know. Correct me here. Okay. Maybe that might be more helpful.
It's just that you know, because I don't think you know, are there. I just said it. Got it. Okay. Ego doesn't exist without a believed in thought. Take a look. I mean, can you find an ego? Can you find the me that has an ego? Right. Right. And if you can say, okay, so can you find anything, you know, I mean, if it changes, it can't be real. Can it? I mean, you tell me, but I'm giving you. And that's why I tried to start with questions. But it just, for me, it was just really, it's that one statement. Truth and reality are that would never change.
So if I'm saying a word, even I say the word ego, well, that may be different to somebody else. You know what that means or what that is. Enlightenment. You know, ah, well, for enlightenment. See, before I met these folks or whatever, my concept and before a long time ago, I was like, well, if you're enlightened, you can walk on water. Come on, Bob. Go walk on water. Right. You could walk on water if you're in line. Right. I remember my first conversation with him. It's my story. What are my memories? Cat's like, nah, I've never heard him say this, but it was my recollection.
Bob didn't recollect it either. He didn't either. Ah, I don't know where I came from, I got it from, I have no idea. But it was my recollection of our first conversation. I'm cold calling this enlightened guy in Australia, you know, because I heard about him in America. And I will like break in the ice on what to say because I'm just calling him out of the blue. Like, so, I heard you're enlightened. He doesn't remember this, but my memory was, was, was, well, first off, if you think about it, the whole word enlightenment, there's no such thing as enlightenment. My recollection was if there's, if you could, the word enlightenment often means there's someone who is one with the all.
And if you can have someone who is one with the all, then you could have someone who is not one with all. And that would be more than one. Right. No enlightenment. No enlightenment. Okay. No such thing. And besides, isn't that just a word? So can you have enlightenment without a word? Right? Right. So maybe there is, and then, and then secondly, there is no one here to be enlightened, which is something you probably have heard him say. Yeah. Okay. So, when I heard him say that, I looked for like, and then secondly, and I thought, well, that's a pretty fucking enlightened answer for someone who says there's no such thing as enlightenment.
Yeah. You gave the definition of truth that that, that which never changes. What doesn't change? The only thing that never changes is space. Yeah. Space never changes. So that's it. Recognize you are the space like a web. Cognizing emptiness. Hard to believe, hard to see, because we've got so many concepts about it. But get back to the simplicity. The non-duality of it all. And we have one quick comment from Tania, who is asking, is anything that thought says true or real? Well, just according to what Julia was saying, real is that which never changes, is anything that thought says ever, never changing. That will be a good answer.
And Vivek says, without the conditioning is the silence. And mind wants to know the reality. Wow. When mind is itself not real, then what about its questions? Good point Vivek. Thank you. And Catherine says, mind should be your servant, but never your master. That's it. Now call. Yeah, look, I thought I'd just, I'm not saying what I'm going to say is right. But it's, it's, it's just a slightly different take on it. You know, we talk about what is real and what isn't real. Now, everything that you can see in this room, every thought you have, every bird that's in the sky, every cloud, but none of that is real.
It just comes and it goes. And it's just, it goes without a trace. So none of that is real. And we call that objects. Yeah. Anything that's an object is not real. It's, it's absolutely not real. It comes and it goes just like all appearances do. Yeah. And then you say, well, okay, so what is real? And I think Julia said it, Bob said it, that which never changes. So what never changes? Well, there's one thing that we all have that never ever changes. It's exactly the same as it was when we were two years old and, and whatever age you all are, that never changes.
And that's the awareness in which all this objects show up. Yeah. That's the only thing that never changes. And the problem is that the brain is only geared to look at objects and awareness is not an object. You can't say how big it is or, or what color it is or any of that stuff. But it's, it's not, you can't even speak about it because it's not an object. You can't point to awareness, but it is. And it's something that goes on and on and on forever. And that's wrong because that's, you can't say that about awareness. Awareness just is, okay. It never changes. It's always there.
And, um, so, so when we talk about me or my thoughts or, um, this room or any of that stuff, it's not real. It's just a passing appearance. And, um, I think I've run out. They call it, they call it space like awareness. Awareness like space. Yeah. Or intrinsic awareness. Yeah. Hello. I'm going to talk some nonsense. Uh, basically say the same stuff that's been said, and from my perspective. Um, so like Bob says, you're born, you don't remember any of it. And then at some age, you know, someone starts giving you a name. My name was Martin. So at some point I started looking at people and everyone's saying Martin.
And then I start to identify with that name, that concept. And then, uh, the thoughts start, you know, talking about me as Martin, who goes to this. And I love doing this. And, and that's kind of where the beginning of all the problems start. Um, and then, you know, you go on living as this concept Martin. And I changed my name to Marty now. So I'm actually, you know, I'm Marty, not Martin anymore. Um, so even just changing the name shows you sort of how fickle that identity is. You know, you can be called, you can call it anything you want. And if you can change it, do you experience a change?
You don't experience any change. So you can't be the concept anyway. So, uh, you know, you go on, then it becomes an issue, you know, for most people manage to somehow like, I don't know, get through it. Um, get through identifying as this concept, but sometimes the story ends up going pretty, um, south. And, and then you get to a point where it just creates too much, you know, resistance, friction. Uh, basically your life doesn't become as easy as you want it to be. And, um, and then you find someone like Bob who says, you're actually not that concept that you believe you are, that people told you you were when you were whatever young age you were.
Um, and so you start investigating, okay. Well, if I'm not this concept that's called modern, then what could I be? And then you come up to this bump because there's nothing, you know, the answer doesn't have any solid form. There's no, there's not another idea that's the final answer. I'm not, uh, you know, not even presence. The word presence is enough to sort of, um, answer what I am. And then you kind of realize you actually don't, don't get any answer. And the answer has no form, it has no shape. Um, and the best way to describe it is as presence or space. But it's not a thing.
Um, and you find out that that, that is the base of all the concepts that you've had. And for the concepts to come up, that presence needs to be there. So then, you know, by deduction, you realize that your whatever enables everything to happen. You can't be what, you know, happens on top of. You have to be, yeah, prior to, you have to be the thing allowing it. So, yeah. One more answer. Thank you, Emily. So, um, back to that reality where there was something that, uh, Gilbert, I think I saw him write. I really loved it. It was about Mickey Mouse. You ever watch the cartoon?
Do you think you can pull a real Mickey, a real mouse out of the cartoon? Right. So can you get that which is real out of that which is not real? Can you pull reality from that which isn't real? You know what I mean? Would you get something real? So if I have a picture of cheese, would you get real cheese out of it? Right. Now, time is another concept, isn't it? You know, like, isn't in reality there's only this? Right? This is the only, this. But then the moment the thought jumps in, it thinks of tomorrow or yesterday or whenever. Like, you know, anytime we have a thought, it's a referring to what seemingly was.
It's referring to a seeming past, isn't it? Or a seeming future or a seeming thing. Right? Isn't that what thought's doing? Right? So what's happening with these thoughts is we're creating things. You know what I'm saying? With the, the thought. It's, it's, there is no thing. It just seems that way. There's a thing. So thinking is happening and then it's pulling stuff from maybe yesterday. You know, yesterday I picked my friend up at the airport and, or better yet, let's have it. Last week I had a fight with somebody. Here, here, here. You know, I'm thinking about the fight and that seems really real. Hey, there's a fight going on, you know?
Yeah. There's a big fight, big argument. That's not happening now. That's a thought in my head. But what about now? Right now there's just this. And if thought shows up, that's not the real. But Fox says this is not real. This is not real. There's, well, this. Okay. Without thought. Once you add thought. So this is the only reality. This. But then once we add a thought to it, or any, you know, you've lost reality. Okay. I'll get that. But this, without, without adding anything. Just this is here. But this is not an image. No. You don't need an image. You do just this, whatever it is.
And then we don't even an image. Once we start labeling. And then. But Bob says this is not real. This is, this is real to me. So. Because this is not a thought. I see it. Huh? It's real to me, you said. Oh yeah. To the me, it is real. To the me, it is real. But me and the world are one. They belong to the same dream. When you dream at night, how real are the trees and the mountains and people that you meet? How real are conversations? When you fly in the dream or you run away, it in the dream for the dream character is absolutely real.
But how real is it for the space, for the capacity for knowing? You know, like when Marty was talking about awareness and call. Awareness is the capacity or potentiality of knowing. That potentiality, it never, it neither exists nor it doesn't exist. It's completely beyond the comprehension of the mind. Because as they were saying, it's not an object that can be grasped and watched. So how real is the dream for the pure potentiality for being knowing? Is it real or is it unreal or is it neither or is it both? That's why we say it is beyond the grasp. And James, Catherine was quoting James, bringing back the memory.
Mind is a wrong tool of Bob's teaching. Mind is a wrong tool. Trying to work it out in the mind. Just to put the mind at rest. I know the mind is passing you. I know it wants to just, ah, get it. It's not going to happen. But this, I mean, this is, this what I'm saying. I agree when I wake up, the dream is not there. But it's, I can't believe now that I'm awake. You know, I'm not awake fully, but kind of awake. And you say this is not real. You can't understand it. What's the definition of reality again? That which never changes.
Is this not changing? Nothing but changing. This keratin hasn't changed. It has. It has. It has. Your perception is limited. But I love the metaphor Tibor used about looking with the microscope for the stars. Look with the telescope or microscope and see if the atoms are not moving. See if they're static. They're not. Everything is made of that very fast vibrating energy. Right. That's what you mean. Even if you don't see it. When I say this, I'm referring here and now, this presence. Like this, you know, right here. And then the moment we, when I, when we add a thought or something to it and I say floor or wall or story or ceiling or me or you or yesterday or tomorrow or anything.
Any words, any, any concepts, anything that, any of that, I've lost. Like when I'm saying this, I'm referring to like what I'm saying is here, this, right, now. You know, and the past exists only in thought. All of it. It's only happening in thought. So when this is a doctor said nothing can trouble you except in your own imagination. Okay. That. That one. Right. Yeah. If you're upset about something, aren't you like, don't you have some imagining happening, you know, some thoughts about what should be or what seemingly was or, you know, isn't the, but is that here now? No, it's like, so like I mentioned the argument right now, like I've got a little dispute going on.
Actually, it's not happening now, but it actually isn't right now. He might be thinking about something completely different. If, if I have a dispute, it's happening in here. Right. So there was a dispute that occurred between this, whatever it is. And another apparently, Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. Okay. All right. And Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck were having a dispute, but it was like, yeah, it was only, it's, it's like, and you know, so it's so game changing when you can see, wait a minute, like if it's yesterday, that's, that's not the reality in this moment. That's only happening in thought.
If I think about it, does it even happen? Did it even exist if I can't think about it? No. So it doesn't even exist if I'm not going to a thought. And if I, and you know what, it doesn't even continue if I don't refer to a thought. You know what I mean? There's not even a ongoing, this, I could actually end this argument right now. You know, in the dispute that I've got with this, with Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. All right. I'll be, I'll be Donald Duck. He can be Mickey, whatever. But the dispute doesn't even happen. Look, there is no even ongoing dispute without a thought.
So it's all the, you know, the, you know, and the, you know, so the wrong tool. Here's where I just think that thought can be a useful tool. Asking who cares. Those are words, right? Thoughts. Your quote is a little bit shy. Who gives a shit? Who gives a shit? Who's wanting to figure it out? Who wants to know? You know, and if words show up, that's not it. You know what I mean? It's like, if, if anything, but just this. There you go. That would be the correct answer. Just when that shows up. Yeah. There. No, no, no. Just a couple more first. There's a chair or something.
Yeah. Hi. Yep. So my understanding, the whole thing about is the room real? Is the room not real? So I can sit here and say, this is my, this is my brother. He's, he's, he's real. He's right here. But as soon as, as soon as I say that, there's a conceptual thing that's clicked on. Okay. Brother, the whole history, everything I know about him, blah, blah, blah. And that's, that's what I think is right here. Okay. But Coles only met him for the first time today. So Coles, Coles seeing something here, which apparently is real, but, but, but is entirely, entirely different from what, from what my mind thinks is here.
Okay. So, and, and it is exactly the same with everything in this room, like where everything in the room, where each of us is experiencing it from a different vantage point, if you like. And there's, there's, there's, there's nothing solid and consistent in the room that it is, it is all just created by each of our minds separately, um, to, you know, to inhabit the space. That's, you know, that's, that's kind of how I understand is, is, is it real? Is it not real? Yeah. So there's, you know, there's, oh, there's a, there's a, a, a camera there. There's a, there's a, a phone there, right?
We all, we all can see that. But if you, if you're an ant on the floor, standing in front of you, you don't see, um, you know, iPhone, Samsung, you know, you, you just see, you know, object that I can climb on. And, and, and that consciousness is as, as much a consciousness as each of ours. So we're, we're, we're creating this kind of understanding of what things are in each moment. And it's entirely just happening up here. There's, there's nothing, there's nothing real about that. That's, that's how I understand it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Look, it's, um, I don't know whether this is going to help, but you know, anything that you can see or think about, or even want, is not real, because it's always changing.
And we pointed to, um, space like awareness or awareness or emptiness as something that is, is, I mean, the mind is saying this, yeah? But what the mind is saying, it doesn't change, is there all the time. Now another, just one other way of thinking about it, because if we say that's subjective and everything else is subjective, if you think that's objective is not real, just think of that, that, that saying that the knife can't cut itself and the eye can't see itself. You know? Awareness can't see itself. The eye can't see itself. And, and our brain desperately wants to see what we're chasing. And that's, that's the frustration.
Yes. Yes. Sorry, one thing just occurred to me when you were saying this, is, I don't want to... Are we, are we talking about, sorry, are you talking about, because in one... No, no, no, no, it's okay, Kavisha, one second. It's like, are you talking about, because everything I see is a reflection in my brain, right? Yes. In my brain cells. Yes. So it's not real. Because you see it differently and as you said, the ants would see it differently. Yes. So because it's a reflection in my brain, you might see that colour, beautiful colour differently than I do, right? This is what you mean, but not real.
And what is a reflection? Reflection is just a shadow. That's what a pea is to me. Yeah. That's what you mean. Thank you. Yeah. I was... I was... I was... I was interested to me because you spoke about the brain and I thought the same thought then, because I was thinking, if the me is real, and if the me is a thought, then where is the thought created in the body? And then I thought, well, if the thought is me, and then you go into the body, and where could be the thought in the body? And then you talk, or it's probably in the brain, because the signs say in the brain, certain parts of the brain creating language.
And then thoughts created in language, it's part of the brain. So then if you look into the brain, which part of the brain would be then the me? Yes. So if you were just limited, that would be like part... just the particle in the brain would be then the me. Yes. But then, but then if the particle only exists because you're drinking water, because otherwise if you don't drink water, the brain doesn't exist. That's true. And then, and then if you don't eat, the brain doesn't exist. So it kind of goes to these other elements again. To one. That's what I know. Everything is relative in its own way.
That's about it, isn't it? Yeah, I have a couple of comments. Everything is relative here. Relative to something else. That's the only way we can understand it. Nothing is understood here by the mind that's, yeah, wanting to come, it is, um, ah, bloody hell. That's all I need to say. Yeah. Yeah. I have a couple of comments from online community. Bill says, thank you Bob and Kat for the boundless loving, knowing and being you point to and live in. It is very, very beautiful to me. Thank you, Bill. And we have Julia, British Julia. When we sleep at night, the world disappears. Yet something remains.
Stay with that I am ness. Yeah. There's something that even remains through the dream. Dream character disappears. The world. Good point, Julia. Thank you. Vivek says, Mickey Mouse, Santa Claus, Superman, and other superheroes are all fictitional creations of the mind. And so it is the mind. The mind. There is, you can't find the mind. There's no mind apart from the stream of thinking. Stream of imaginations. Nothing. Thank you, Vivek. Bye-Gon, and I was. B. I was. T. I was. T. I was. T. I was. T. I was. T. I was. duality is a me with a concept it is delicious thank you it is yeah i just don't want to say that um i'm sort of slightly lost it now but it was it was to do with um the you don't always have to work things out like there are there are times when it's you know necessary but i don't need to know how the car works to enjoy driving a car brilliant but sometimes if i have to fix it then i i need to go and investigate that but you know to be constantly trying to work everything out all of the time yeah is so exhausting it's just incredibly exhausting and unnecessary and i've found that like i'm starting to realize that i actually don't need to work everything out and it's okay not to know everything all of the time and it's and it's gonna change anyway that's it's like i was so concerned about you know work and other things because i always work i've worked for myself for a long long time but when i when i let go of that anxiety about when my next job's coming you know over 40 plus years it's always worked out one way or the other and often not how i worked it out sometimes yes it can you know it happens to line up with what the brain does but when i look back at it more often than not if i've just let it go it's somehow worked out don't even need to know how beautiful that's beautiful as banking says everything is perfectly resolved in the unborn yeah i exchange the unborn for thought and not knowing mind is no mind it's so much is healthy relief in so many ways and that was really that was a beautiful summary yes this is the tool it is to be used when necessary not constantly hammering everything you see it's exhausting and it's unnecessary as you said yes and finding that comfort in i don't know in no mind in knowing as you see for 40 years life looked after you probably longer than that so just seeing how that life is actually having your back all the time it's breathing the body it's looking through your eyes there is no need to obsessively control and try to grasp it and understand it and stay in charge while the life is the only doer and the only thing left is just to gently relax and join the stream of the life rather than stay trapped in that imaginary self which causes so much pain to to understand anything at all what we attempt to do is relate it to something else don't we because we're relating to something else but if we we never take the step of really investigating the truth of what we're relating it to yeah or assuming something at some point there's an assumption that you know we're on the right track somewhere in knowing truth the mind is frantic effort to continually relate itself and describe itself describe truth describe who i am describe the situation i mean whatever according to according to something else but you see that's where you can relax according to the table the very good thing you said that just simply relax into you know knowing that no relative truth is available so what are we left with what is prior to relative truth it's the absolute thing of course we can you never understand what absolute is that's the action of the mind the action of the mind use this perpetual motion machine which is constantly trying to identify who we are whether it is something else so we take uh yeah we take um anybody anything that we can and we say uh how how you know to what extent is am i defined by the how i don't dislike what's in front of me or whatever you see what i'm saying that's how the individual is defined it's like it's like a oh it's like a humpback whale that jumps out of the water you know breaching itself only for the purpose of probably this is what they assume maybe true only the purpose of feeling its own weight in the air otherwise it doesn't know where it is weightless in the water anyway that's it just a quick one when bob said uh the closest thing to you to your own eyeball is space when you and this is what i found when you identify with the space you immediately lose focus with of everything that appears in the space it's quite a beautiful restful way of um being probably pure being and everything nothing has changed every every object in the room is still there but you don't see it it still exists but you don't cognize it it's a very nice restful way of uh being at me i had a lovely quote from osho who said that life is not a problem to be solved but a mystery to be lived i thought that's beautiful and um it reminded me of a song row row row your boat gently down the stream merrily merrily merrily merrily life is but a dream um the um i like your little brother it's a really nice little play there but what what you you're saying is uh uh that sort of reality is consensus reality you know that we all agree on we have names that we um have bodies and objects and we if we didn't have consensus reality we wouldn't obey road rules and sort of drive on the right side of the road but consensus reality you know as we're talking about here is just a construct it's not it's relative there's there's nothing to it you know it lives on nothingness it lives on an emptiness that is it's unsullied you know your awareness is the same from the day that you were born to the day you die awareness doesn't change it's just that floating in consensus reality that changes everything so the more that you as you say rest in awareness without trying to do anything at all then things just uh let go of what needs to be let go of and you be in your beingness problem solve themselves is that woo way what you're talking about effortless effort yeah that's what we that is what we like that uh that great poet way we weigh i think shakespeare also said that uh not i nor any man but man be with nothing will he be pleased till he be eased with being nothing how um yeah just a question for a friend really we had someone uh we were quite close to pass yesterday and the question was about um prayer or thoughts or um how to support or feel or how to get some sort of comfort and the question was really about prayer so i'm just wondering what would you say to that friend about prayer or how to how to feel comfort how to feel comfort yeah with the loss with the loss of a friend yeah well prayer is generally petitioning for something you could petition for comfort yeah it's really feeling comfortable or feeling okay with i guess that what's happened is perfect in some way even though it doesn't seem perfect but as you were saying before there is the sense of peace when the suffering ends so focusing on that peace focusing on that which is already here that silence that space that peaceful non-existence energy never dies so the energy is free just focusing on that sense of peace within oneself is the best thing to do to support and also you know if you think about the friends that pass that friend that pass that was the life essence the energy trapped in immense suffering and now that life essence is free it's not suffering anymore when my father died it was helpful for me to see the corpse because it was crystal clear that we're not that this this form um and another thing that was also super helpful was simply a question right so since i'm we're we're not this if i'm not this i'm not a description i'm not anything existing within the illusion of time and space i'm not a thing can i find where we're separate and whenever i ask that question you want to know what children there's no separation and then you know what with the loss of the separation you know what i was left with beautiful thank you apparently you look very peaceful as well that's good memories i have he's one to chew over mind man is the master power mind is the master power that molds and makes the man is mind and evermore he takes the tool of thought and thinking what he will brings forth a thousand joys a thousand ills he thinks in secret and it comes to pass environment is his looking glass thanks bob what's up i have a couple of comments here very quick jasmine says you have to tune into your intuition as everyone has said you cannot understand with logic and the rational thinking mind and bill knowing is happening identify that before all the mental concepts that before all mental concepts comes in and broadly when the ever refreshing moment is seen beyond the the cliche concept there are no repeated experiences triggers thoughts or understanding no continuity of me how do you solve the ever fresh the ever refreshed and tanya says thank you and jasmine the body fulfilled it's mission karma gratefulness for the divine which knows all and beautiful both and i think we have a couple of quick comments from the community but just a quick one go to the end it's a good one it's a good one it's
