Live now! Tony, and there's Oliver filming, and Jane, and Anita, Linda, Tristan, Paula, Lauren, Carl, Lachie, Chris, Michael, Dominika, Wilbert, Emma, Tess, Peter, Michael, Mitchell, Justin, Bob, Jacinta, and Bob. I'm sorry. I'm not here. Slide three. Emptiness and body. Good morning, everyone. Good morning. Everyone's... and there's only one. So take your pick which one is the one. And the rest of you can shut up because there's no... ...and you all know what we talk about. Non-duality, one of the ancient texts. No, no, you got it. Which... In Adv- In Adv- In.!!- Nandamoripa. Nandamoripa. is one, without a second, not two. That is all there is.
So, if that is all there is, nothing other than that, what or who you are searching, and 0- Nandamoripa. Nandamoripa. And the more the time. And the more the time. And the more the time. And the more the time. And the more the time. And the more the time. Nothing other than that, what or who you're searching and what or who you're searching for. And that's what we're trying to point out here. Start from the fact, whether you know it or not, that you are already that. And that's the great mantra they tell us. I am that. Thou art that. This is that. That's that.
All things are that. And we know that in our language already. Because that's the chair I'm sitting in, that's the room I'm in, that's the carpet on the floor, that's the tree, that's the flower, that's the sky. We already know that basically everything is that. But to discriminate it, we put the words or labels on it. Tree, flower, birds, me, you and everything else is discrimination. And all those words have been picked up a long way, along the way. Because there's nobody... Nobody's that can pick them up. Four years. I've got my ears out. We're all being given names, as I say. Nobody that was born with any words.
Every word we've ever been spoken, or likely to speak, has been picked up along the way. A lot of the texts they call it God. And... God is one, they'll tell you that. That is all there is. That is he. We take it to be a separate entity, a higher power, or a greater power, and we are much less than that. So, we need to become that. That's what all the scriptures and religions are about. Trying to become something we haven't realized or recognized, that we are already. It causes a lot of anguish and pain and fear, anxiety and stress. Because we've taken on the idea we are separate, we are this person, this body-mind entity.
And that's, you know, the sensations and feelings that can appear in this body-mind. The fear, the anxiety, the anger, the stress, the guilt, the shame, remorse and all of it. All which we believe to be, it's me that's suffering from these things. And it's me because I am separate. Because I don't know this higher power. I don't know this God. And so a lot of us search to become or be that other. Because some are so painful in life that they don't want to be like this anymore. They think there's got to be more to it than this. And so we start looking. Trying to become something which will never happen.
Because becoming is a movement away from being. And there is no one in this room who is not being right now. Have a look and see for yourself. You are being aware. You are being this. You are being that. Or whatever it labels you like to put on yourself. But they call it, when they express satyutinanda, another term of it. For it is being, knowing and loving to be. As I say, you are all being right now. And there is nobody who doesn't know that. Can't say I am not. Anybody who doesn't want to be right now, you want out of it? You don't. You want to remain.
This livingness. So, we think I better do something about it. Trying to become. And we got this idea that we are this person. This separate entity. This individual. Where does the word person come from? It comes from the ancient Latin persona. A mask. Where did any of the words you speak come from? You realise every word you've ever spoken or ever likely to speak. Has been picked up along the way. For the first couple of years of your life you didn't have any words. So, you didn't know anything about that. You can't remember your birth. Of course you can't remember your birth. When you had no words.
How could you say I was born? So, we learnt this word and told you. We are this person that is born. And so, we keep reinforcing it. Somebody will come up and ask who are you. You'll say I am Bill or Jane or whatever your name might be. So, you're identifying with that believed in conceptual image. The person. Instead of reminding or remembering. You are the existence. You are the consciousness. You are the loving to be. You are that. And you know it right now. Anybody who is not existing. You'll say no I'm existing. Anyone who is not unaware. Or unconscious. And again you know.
I'm not unaware. I'm not unconscious. Anyone who is not happy to be. Do you want to be dead right now? We don't. Of course not. So, you are happy to be. Again pointing out that you are already that. But we've been believing we are the separatenity. This individual has been reinforced by our own. And we are the human being. And we are the human being. And we are the human being. This individual has been reinforced by our parents. We went to school. Reinforced by our school. All our classmates. Everybody around us. And ourselves. Are constantly reinforcing it. By continuing in that belief. And so now it seems very ordinary.
To believe that I am this person. But they tell you differently. In the ancient texts and scriptures that looked into it. So there is only. This one essence. This one God. This one higher power. Higher power. And we've lost sight of that. It tells you clearly in the scriptures. In Isaiah I think it is. Be still. And know. That I am God. Be quiet for a while. Just stop the thought. Don't do it. Just. The stillness. The emptiness. And the being. Is still there. The knowing. Is still there. But the knowing. Or being. This person. Take on it. Is the wrong. That there is only.
One. Without a second. The absolute. Not two. We've taken ourselves to be the separate entity. The individual. The person. The person. And that's when our suffering. Is the suffering. Is the suffering. Or being. Or being. Or being. This person. Is the wrong. Take on it. I tell you again. That there is only. One. Without a second. The absolute. Not two. We've taken ourselves to be the separate entity. The individual. The person. And that's when our suffering. Begins. Because it's only me. That can be unhappy. Words we've learned. Me. Unhappiness. And happiness. Only me can be fearful. Again words we've learned. Only me can be anxious.
Or depressed. Guilty. Full of shame. Jealous. Envious. All these. feelings. Which we've labelled. They stir up the body. Stir up the energy. And the things. And the things. And the things. And the things. And the things. And the things. And the things. And the things. And the things. And the things. And the things. And the things. And the things. And the things. And the things. And the things. And the things. And the things. And the things. And the things. And the things. And the things. And the things. And the things. And the things. And the things. And the things. And the things. And the things.
And the things. envious. All these feelings and sensations which we've labelled become fear, anxiety, and they're not too good. They stir up the body, stir up the energy. And it could cause all sorts of situations in the body. And so I keep reinforcing this every day. I go to school and my teachers reinforce it more and other kids at school reinforce it. And I'll learn more words and reinforce it myself. So for me it's become the real. I believe I am the separate entity. And things are going on in this life that makes me anxious, unhappy, depressed, guilty. They become overwhelming some of them. Continual psychological suffering going on.
And they tell us to investigate. Have a look. As they say the false cannot stand up to investigation. We believe we are this person, this semi-separate entity. Keep reinforcing it. Belief continues. The capacity of reasoning develops as we go along from the little embryo, the little child learns words and concepts. And the capacity of reasoning develops. And it's only this me that can be fearful, unhappy, depressed, guilty. Me is the cause of all the psychological suffering that goes on in this world. And the effects are that's believed in me that take it on board. If it's not taken on board, where does yesterday thoughts now, if you can't recall them?
Aren't they gone? Believed to be very real, solid and substantial. The time we were thinking them, causing all sorts of angst and fears to go on. But left as they are, if they're not that important, they disappear. If they're seemingly important, we cling to them, build on to them. And the fears and the stresses and the anxieties become worse. In that case, they get that bad. And if we only, a lot of us follow these ancient texts and scriptures and believe in them, if we only really listened to them and looked into them. Not all of them, some of them were corrupted and could tell them.
But that's when something comes up and tells you, the false cannot stand up to investigation. If you hear that, wouldn't you want to look and see what was false? Wouldn't you want to investigate some of these fears, the stress and anxiety that I have? Is it real? Is it the actuality that I am? Or is it false? Well, if the false can't stand up to investigation, that's what needs to happen. And in the investigation, they tell you the answer. They say, know the truth. And it's the truth that will set you free. The way to be free for these beliefs, fear, anxiety, stress, is to investigate them and know the truth.
Recognize the truth. Well, they call it a cognizing emptiness. We think we cognize or see the emptiness. Not really. They put on, they put on, the cognizing is going on before the emptiness. And the Buddha told you that. He calls it a cognizing emptiness. And he tells you clearly that emptiness is form. There it is. The emptiness is space like awareness. The 70s round. All the forms are appearing in that. Have a look. You can see that there's any form or any shape that can pair outside of that space like emptiness. Well, you can postulate and think as much as you like. But if you think in one of the planets or other stars or other stars or others, what would they be in?
They'd have to be in emptiness. Anything at all must be in emptiness. But he says the emptiness is form. And tells you that also, that the form can be nothing other than the emptiness. So this form is talking to a heap of forms there. But it's the one animation. The one intelligence energy. The one life. That's realizing it. That's recognizing it. And that. And that's what the Christ told you. I am the way. I am the truth. I am the life. I am the life. People thought he's talking about himself. A lot of people think that's so. But he wasn't. He was talking about that sense of presence.
The knowing that you are. How would you tell somebody that you are. You'll say, I am so and so. Well, that's what he was saying. But he knew what he was talking about. He had a taste of it. I am the way. The way I go to it is through I am. I am the truth. That's the truth. I am the life. The truth. The truth. This argument tells you the same thing. When he says, stay with the I am-ness. And we get the wrong hang of that too. We think I've got to go around peating all day. I am. I am. I am. I am.
Not losing sight of it. Doesn't mean that at all. Means that sense. That awareness of presence. Is the life. If that awareness wasn't there. Could you say I am? Could you say any thought? Could you feel any feeling? Or taste any taste? Or touch anything? So-called things. You couldn't. Without that awareness. I am the way. I am the truth. I am the life. And then he goes on to say, know the truth. And the truth will set you free. Telling you free. Telling you free. Telling you what it is. And giving you the way out. The way out is recognizing the truth and knowing it.
Realizing it. And expressing. That I am that. I am that being. Anyone who is not being right now? You really know I am. You really know I am being. So if I am that being. And the way out. Expressing it. I am that. Everyone who is being in this room. Wouldn't you be able to say the same thing? That I already am that being? You wouldn't. But why don't you? Because we have doubts about it. Because we have doubts about it. Maybe it's not so. Or maybe I'm ignoting myself. Something like that. And thinking like that. But to tell you clearly. That is all there is.
Evil. finished. Yeah. So there we go. And that being. Is knowing. Anyone who doesn't know. I am. No, you realize. I am. I know that I am. So the being. And the knowing. Are there. and can there be a knowing without being? Well, investigate that one also and have a look. If I wasn't here or this seeming appearance or whatever it is, wasn't here, how could I say I am without it or with it? Who would be saying it? So there must be someone there that knows it and says it already. But for the most part, it's being ignored. Instead of I am this being, this one, this, I am Bob, the miserable father having a bad trough.
He's in a couple of operations. He's found the big croc and he's got other things. All sorts of concepts, all words. Which is adding on to the pure beingness. And he's got the idea that this being can become something. If he does this practice or that practice or prays to that or do something, do what all the scriptures are saying, he will become realized. But never look at that. Is being becoming? Doesn't becoming imply a future time? Now there's another thing. We've got this concept of time. Past, present and future. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, is that a fact? I look into it. Can I live yesterday?
I can't. Can I live last week? I can't. Can I go back and live when I was supposed to be born? I can't. So the past is gone. What about this present? Well I'll break it down to pre-sense before the stances start going on. Pre-sense. Isn't there awareness of pre-sense there right now? What is the future? What is the future? Isn't it anticipation and imagination? Can you live in the future or can you only anticipate? And when you're anticipating, does it always work out the way you anticipated? It doesn't. So you can't live a moment in the future. And what does that mean? It means that this life is spontaneous.
It hasn't got any duration time. It's got no past, no present or no future. The presence, pre-sense before the stances. It's spontaneous. What's your next thought going to be? You won't be able to tell me. But you wait a little while, the thought will come up. And you'll grasp them and say, I think. This I concept that you have about yourself, now believes it can think. And it thinks it's thought. Whatever the thought might be. So the thought becomes the object. And the so-called thinker becomes the subject. What have we done? We split up the duality, the me and you, subject-object, into two. And they tell us loudly and clearly, it's non-dual.
It's one without a second. It's not two. It never was or never will be. So I need to have a look into that belief into time. And ask myself the simple question, is there a past if I don't think about it? Or without a thought, can you say it's past, future, pleasant, painful, happy, sad? Can you give it any label at all without the thought? And Shakespeare told you a couple hundred years ago, it might have been four hundred, I think. Or six. Nothing can, no, he said, nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so. And that's a good one to investigate too.
Investigate to see if it's false or not. And you see that's pretty right. How does the mind function? And you'll see it's always functioning dualistically. It's sound, it's a vibration. And it vibrates into the opposite. Past, future. Pleasant, painful. Happy, sad. Loving, hating. Good, bad. Watch your mind and see if it functions any other way. And you realise all these words we've learnt and continue to learn and believe in are causing us all the problems we have. If we know the truth about them, maybe those problems will disappear. If I ask myself what's wrong with right now if I don't think about it, I'll ask yourself that question right now.
No thought comes up here. It used to. It used to come up and go into a long story. The story would get worse as it went along. And with it would become the sensations, the feelings and the emotion, the unhappiness, the depression, the guilt. Without that thought, what's there? Well there's a sense of well-being. Being well, being okay. Nothing wrong anymore. But if I like to think about it, there's a hell of a lot going on. I'm not too concerned with it. At times it gets a bit worse than others. And kicks up a stick for it. But before, it was locked into continually. Day in, day out.
See somebody I might not even know if they gave me a dirty look. It will be on again. Thank God that doesn't happen anymore. It wasn't a very nice life. Full of fear, anxiety, depression, guilt. Looking into those things, all those words, all concepts. Fear, anger, depression, unhappiness, guilt. All have sensations or meaning, bring up meaning to them. Only me that can be unhappy. Seeing the cause of it is me. It's this believed in entity. This conceptual image that I've taken on board when I learnt the language and kept bringing forth it with more language and more words. And it becomes seemingly real. The absolute.
And it's easy to drop into the old conditioned response. But recognise it. All those responses are conditioned. They haven't been gone into just once. But many, many, many times when things have come up. And if they weren't hurting enough, we'd create another one, which was worse. And so go on. Locked in this continuous belief in fearful, anxious, unhappy, depressed, miserable human being. What's that word, human? It's the label we put on ourselves that differs from other animals, birds, insects, plants and things. I am a human being. I am that being, but now I've got the label of human. And this thing that I'm looking for, or should be looking for, this thing called God, is the Supreme Being.
Much greater than what I am. There's a lot more. Can do a lot for me. But I can get down on my knees and pray and beg and sublimate myself to believe in this thing. Sometimes I get a bit of relief. Most times I don't. But then, doing what they say, investigating. Have a look at this word, human. If I take off that word, and take off the word, supreme, what's left? What's no longer a human being. Or a higher power, or a greater being. It's just what is. Pure being. That which we ignore. It's there before us. We've heard many times, in many different ways.
But they tell you that. It's ignorance. Believing in that. We ignore it. Go into the conceptual idea that there is this higher power. That will step down on a white cloud or something. Hit us on the head with a peacock feather. And you'll be right. Or he can't imagine a few million times. And you've got it. And if you're not getting to go and see someone, you've got to pray harder. You've got to try more. But luckily, fortunately, came about to hang on a minute. You looked into this. And it's clicked. It's resonated. Something has changed. Even though it's seemingly gone away. Almost, really. But it's changed.
It's changed. I'll look again. And when you look again, if it was the truth, because they say, know the truth, and the truth will set you free. Seeing and knowing it. Well, the investigation was true. I couldn't find anything. It's still true now. I don't find anything at all other than this absolute presence awareness. There's no thing. This one without a second, non-dual. This pure being. And that's what I see before my very eyes. There's a room full of that beingness. Knowingness. And loving to be. You can sense the warmth coming from it, through that. The love of being. And each and every one of us has that.
Sometimes the pain might have seemingly got that bad you want about. It was only a matter of having a good look and seeing for yourself. And you could be out of it. Everyone can be out of it. Right now. Doesn't have to be that way. That's what needs to happen. Needs to look at it. A little bit of investigation. We've got a lot of beliefs. We read a lot of things. Hear a lot of things. Some of them ring a bell. Some of them don't. But we believe in so many things. But have a look when they tell you that belief is not the actual.
I believed in so many things. And when I investigated, they fall apart. They're not the actual, as they say. And when I look in the dictionary and see. Belief is an unquestioned acceptance. Of something in the absence of reason. Means I haven't reasoned it out. I've accepted it for what somebody's told me. And taken it as be real. And then it's become a problem. Like somebody told me that Joe Blow was a such and such. So and so. And I believed it. Next time I see Joe Blow, we'll be in for it. That's the way it goes. An unquestioned acceptance in the... And the absence of reason.
Acceptance of an alleged fact. An alleged fact. How many of the facts do you actually know for facts? How many of the so called facts do you actually know for facts? How many of the so called facts you believe in are beliefs? Have a look. Doesn't take much to look and see. And the recognising. The alleged fact. Is not. The truth. You don't have to carry on to it. And knowing that all these. Concepts and ideas we got about it. Concepts. Or stories. We've got. Belief. Belief. See. Are not the real. They're not real at all. But have a look. Can anybody here tell me I am not right now?
Don't see you jumping up. Say you're wrong you bastard. I've got you. Why? If you knew it for a fact you couldn't. You'd do it. But you know it's not a fact. A belief is not a fact. The cause. And the effects are the anger. And the effects are the anger. The anger. The anger. The anger. The jealousy. All the psychological suffering. And the effects are the anger. The jealousy. All the psychological suffering. He says why are you unhappy? And the effects are the anger. The jealousy. The anger. The anger. The anger. The anger. The anger. The anger. The anger. The anger. The anger. The anger.
The anger. The anger. The anger. The anger. The anger. The anger. The anger. The anger. The anger. The anger. The anger. All the psychological suffering. Wayman Way tells us that. He says why are you unhappy? Why? And he goes on to say because everything you say. Everything you do. And everything you see. Is for yourself. And that yourself. Is the Maya. The illusory self. The body mind self. The believed in entity self. He says everything is for yourself. And he says there isn't one. If you know that. Why the hell are we wasting all this effort and trying to work it out in the mind?
And doing that what are you going to do? You let go. And realize what Banky said. A couple hundred years ago. That everything is perfectly resolved in the unborn mind. That naturally resolves itself there. If left as it is. When I've got the conditioning on it. Me. It's got to be happy. It's got to be fair. All sorts of stories develop. And out of the story will come another story. And another story. And another story. And it keeps on going on and on and on. I mean it back to the simplicity of what is wrong with right now. If I don't think about it. And there's nothing either good or bad.
But thinking makes it so. And we use all these words to think better. And the words not the real. Few simple things. Take them into consideration. Listen to them. And they're going to go along with it. Why the hell would I? What for? When it's only taken me down. Into the depths again. Where I was glad to get out. Know the truth. And the truth will set you free. And that's enough from there. I've got to go along with it. And I've got to go along with it. And I've got to go along with it. And that's enough from there. Thank you. Where's Cat disappeared?
Ah. You had a. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. And again we have 25 people with us online. And nobody asks questions. Oh, that is, Jelena says. Amazing to realize that everything you've ever known is just a belief. Everything except for that one certainty, which is not a belief. You can't make yourself believe that you exist or you don't exist. That's the experience. And that's the only thing that matters. That's the only reality. Everything else is something that we've learned from like third hands. From other people, from whatever. Even if the thought seemingly streams. Because where do the thoughts come from? Outside, inside? Who cares?
There really is no outside, inside. They just appear. And they disappear. Yeah. But the certainty of being is not a thought. I mean, it can be translated as a thought. As I speak it, of course, it becomes a thought. But if the thought is pushed aside, there still is a certainty of presence. Of being aware, of being present, being conscious. And yes, everything else that has ever been known is just a belief. And Jelena says, yes, thank you. Yeah, we all know it. And there is really nothing else to know. Everything else that we ever know is just a destruction from that certainty of being.
Because the whole non-duality is really about what is. About the awareness of presence. About the reality that is actually right here, right now. And of course, within that reality, there is a dreaming happening. The thought happens and that thought gets the energy. The belief flows into the thought. And then suddenly we have a wonderful story of the evolution of the galaxies bringing into existence right now. Or we have another story about the past life of someone, the third character in a movie or something. And that is also just a thought like in the Bible, in the beginning with the word. Or the thought. And the belief that gives it life.
That is that same life essence that gives life to everything. That becomes, that makes the thought the most incredibly entertaining story. And the same life is beating our heart. And the same life appears as the sky, the tree, the animal, the bird, the insect, the bodies, the thoughts, the feelings. All of it. And J.P. And J.P. Clemens says, oops, oh my goodness. There's the book here copied. You guys have said to share the experience and pointers. So, there can come a point when the seeker is seeking, reaches a state of exhaustion. It comes to an end of itself. All the effort has been frustrating, desperate, fruitless.
And in that moment, it is seen that what you are can never ever be grasped in the mind. The mind comes to a dead end. Yeah, beautifully said. Yeah, it's often the case, you know, that the seeking comes to the point of exhaustion and desperation. Especially if you spend a lifetime, half a lifetime, with the realization that the mind is useless in this investigation. There is a deep surrender. Just absolutely, 100% giving up on the notion that the mind can get you there. Yes. All that is left is relief. The seeking is dropped. If this can be realized, what a relief! Dropping the seeker and being okay with not having to know with the mind, cannot find the self-using conceptual object to understand the non-conceptual truths.
It can't be forced. It is not a decision that I make either. It is a realization. If it isn't realized, it is just another concept. Great spiel as usual, Bob. Thank you. Thank you, JB. That's a beautiful summary of the end of a journey, really. I remember that time when I believed that, oh yeah, it all depends on me. If I am not trying hard enough, that's why I am not saying it true. I just have to be more present. I just have to be more with it, more vigilant, moment to moment. Yes, that brings the point of exhaustion. Because it can't be done. Because there is no I doing it.
But that's lovely said. Anyone else would like to ask something or share something or say something or comment? that you have to be... A good way. A good way. A good way. A good way. A good way. A good way. A good way. A good way. A good way. A good way. A good way. A good way. A good way. A good way. A good way. A good way. A good way. A good way. A good way. A good way. A good way. A good way. A good way. A good way. A good way. A good way. A good way. A good way. A good way.
A good way. A good way. A good way. A good way. A good way. I'm just struck with the idea that, this whole adage that are we spiritual beings having a earthly experience or earthly beings have a spiritual experience, which is very different isn't it? It's like, do we know the truth? Are we coming down into this reality of physicality and feeling everything and seeing the beauty in it of God, seeing God bleed through into this so-called sensory thing? Or are we going the other way where we sit on a limitless chasm of fear and we're struggling to get up into the light but always falling back down?
That's the difference isn't it? I prefer the earlier one really, it's as much easier isn't it? We're never ever going to get from being an earthly being into those high realms, are we? Because we're always dealing with the truth right now. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Yes, ask questions please. Sorry, the second one was, are we? Speak up. The second one was, are we human? Or earthly beings having a spiritual experience? No, then that question arose that, how about, could that be that we are both, I don't know, something like that, like, is there any difference, is notader? It's not cooking to me, but, like, I'm not a little...
I'm not a little I'm a little I'm a little I'm a little I'm a little I'm a little I'm a little or earthly beings having a spiritual experience. Now then that question arose that, how about, could that be that we are both, I don't know, something like that, like, is there any difference? It's not cooked in me, but like, something like that. Is it, is there any difference actually in reality? Yeah, in reality is there any difference of being the spiritual being or earthly, you know, human being, you know, is there really in reality? Good question. Not in reality, but the dream will be vastly different.
The dream will be vastly different. I mean, look, the basic thing, if I think I'm a god or I am fine or I am just good enough, I'm lovable, I'm confident, I'm okay. That's a different dream than, oh, I'm just a lovable piece of shit. I'm just so, I'm ugly, I'm worthless, I'm just disgusting. It's a completely different quality of the dream. But reality is just the same. What's wrong with right now if you don't think, if you don't define yourself as spiritual being or human being or godly being or earthly being, no definition whatsoever. Because adopting one definition or another definition will change the quality of the dream.
You know, like if you are the essence and you suddenly act in the drama and you act as a villain or you act as a hero, it's a different dream. But that dream is really just the content of reality and we are not really analyzing or focusing on the dreams much. We are going back and I like that, JB was talking about realization. Realization is a good word. Recognition is maybe even better words. The word that Bob often refers to and he loves that word. Because you recognize what is always and already underneath any dream. Positive dream, negative dream. You know, there are all sorts of perceptions that you can have.
You know, the human perspective or the godly perspective. Underneath that is the miracle going on of existence. Unknowable, mysterious, completely beyond grasp of concepts. And you can intuit, you can touch it with your heart, but you can't grasp it with your mind. Because the moment you try, well, you are back in the dream. This is the dreaming projector. So when you recognize that truth, then that, they become one thing. There is no difference of seeing it from that perspective or seeing it from the human perspective. So long as the godly perspective informs what's going on here, then there is no difference, is there? You see that?
There is no difference. Oh, my God. There you go. Yeah, Dean, go on. Oh, yeah, well, it looks like, alright, yeah. Jeez. It's like this recognizing thing. Like there's this movement to recognize. But in the movement itself, then it's very quickly, like, it's just realized that there's emptiness cognizing itself. So the recognizing is the movement is the actual, and that can only happen now. And like, just imagine like, there's this emptiness. And it's cognizing itself through, like, the recognition of the impressions of energy, like thought patterns of me or this or objects. But they're all in this emptiness. And they're all appearing in the same space.
There's no limit. There's no distance. There's no, there's no time. There's no durations. There's no discrimination between a thought and an image or a sound or a sensation. They're all appearing in the emptiness. And that is the emptiness itself appearing as something which is really nothing. Like it's so it's cognizant of itself. And that's it. The end of the story. Thank you, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, distinguished guests, guests and cats. It's so lovely. Yeah. I just wanted to put my two scissors in there, which is about this one here for myself. The investigation of time was the direct connection. If there really is no past, and when you see there is no past and there is no future, then everything is a story.
That's right. That's it. There is no other place to go. Yeah. It's the direct route for me is the investigating time. Yeah. All right. Beautiful. Ramana is always referenced time and again. We go back to emptiness, go back to nothing in deep sleep. There's nothing there. We're not there. We are in some way, but nothing recognizable. There's no cognition there. There's no world. There's no God. There's no I. There's no you. And yet we only know that when we come around in the morning. And we know that to be the most beautiful place to be, because we want to go there every time into that deep sleep.
And that's the truth of who we are. At least that's as much as we can know from this space. And of course there's consciousness in that space. Yes. And the sound alerts you. You wake up. Yes. Out of that deep sleep. Yeah. Yeah. Go on. Go on. Go on. Yeah. good. The universe is actually full of light, but we can't see the light unless it touches something. Like the sunlight touches something and it's seen. But if you were out in space, in deep space, you can't see that light. And yet the whole space is full of light. and the sun shines of itself that's its nature to shine and it doesn't discriminate and say I'm going to shine on these people and not these people it shines in all directions not just on planet earth and what is it that knows this consciousness the awareness is thought free in everyone it's thought free in everyone but it's not noticed because the attention goes onto the thoughts the feelings the emotions the drama whatever so imagine you have a big white canvas and you paint a black dot on it people come in what do they look at they look at the dot straight away because the blank canvas is kind of boring so our attention is constantly attracted to the activity this dynamic display of awareness or consciousness and you know they call it the play lila the play of consciousness or whatever but you know like the fact that awareness is thought free is like a master key you know and maybe one has to you know search for a long time until they recognize that single factor but it's you don't have to take forever to recognize it so awareness is thought free the thoughts appear on the consciousness they disappear on the consciousness and that's the display and everything is consciousness anything you can see feel taste touch it's consciousness displaying itself and I think it was Bob's first fourth book which I did many years ago it's called what is it called One Essence One Essence expressing and appearing as everything and that's in one sentence it says the whole thing and all of the good books say in the title it's like there's that book self-realization through seeing with naked awareness that title is enough you don't have to read the book you get it in the title I am that I am that yeah all of the all of the all of the books titles are very precise so the awareness is thought free recognize that and then it's all free willing after that could you keep forgetting me Dane I like the way when Bob says just investigate and everything he always says is on the one stick so if you actually ask yourself you know say happy and sad if you actually ask yourself who's happy there's a sense of space if you ask yourself who's sad there's a sense of space it's really that simple you're one with everything where do you get this stick from oh oh steal it she's holding it I'll just go back to I'll just go back to the no answers in the mind I'll just think of this little little person running running from the pairs of opposites you know trying to find an answer here there and everywhere you know and all of a sudden they're just totally exhausted and they collapse on the floor and and they go I give up that's what I've got to say thank you the I gives up there's no answers in the mind so this was a oh sorry a pointer that I've been playing with and forgetting a lot and remembering and sort of trying out so I thought I'd share it now I've pretty much forgotten it of course as I'm about to talk yeah that was a good one though yeah try yeah it was loving and being loved observing everything peacefully within being yeah thanks I like when Tristan when you said loving and being loved it is all about the ing this is really about the ing because what the mind does from the ing you have the seeing and the mind says no this is the subject object the seer and the seeing you have hearing and the subject object again mind is the wonderful device which basically has a function of dividing everything that is one process into two objects so there is one that is loved and one that is loving and one that is loved and within that space or field or potentiality for loving or being or knowing or seeing hearing tasting touching smiling there is always that translating device here that divides it into two that's how the duality comes into existence and with the duality the ten thousand things the magnificent display the beautiful maya there is nothing to be loved it's just to be loved it's totally the expression of the totality or the absolute it's the only way the non-dual one the not even one the not even one the pure potentiality can get actualized and experience and express itself so that experiencing and expressing is a miracle of existence and the mind making ten thousand things out of it is a miracle of existence even further it's a beauty it's the dance it's the divine game sport of gods as they say Leela divine game satchitananda you want to elaborate on that satchitananda the reality what about it what about it existence consciousness being loving to be and what is not reality they say in the hindu scriptures what is not reality is namarupa name and form so the being the seeing hearing tasting touching smelling ing ing that is the reality that is the experiencing and now translation of that experiencing into the names and forms those are bodies those are galaxies this is evolution this is science this is not the reality this is a translation of the experiencing into the very very detailed description of the whole ten thousand thing of course it's more than ten thousand but it's just a zen sort of a saying that the whole diversity and and constantly growing like fractal like holographic details wherever that life essence or attention focuses in then we get the universe bubbling out of it out of the potentiality into the existence like I was telling Bob four dreams that I had at night four different universes just because the attention focuses on a thought and then suddenly it springs into existence and people who had the psychedelic experiences you can see how creative that machinery can be it's amazing and this is the life essence that gives it reality is that one life translated through that projector becomes the beautiful beautiful universe the mystery of the ten thousand things Nama Rupa not reality I just wanted to point out psychedelic experiences what's really interesting when a group of people do that together they often hallucinate the same thing there's often an experience of hallucin you know so they tell me you wouldn't know first time no no no it's a long time don't believe them it's not now I haven't done it either but um um what was I going to say oh shit um I find I found I I I found that answering questions yes or no is a good is it it's a better way to answer it it stops your mind from going off in tangents and you actually know the answer so yes or no is all you need you don't actually need to go any further than that and then asking yourself really simple questions like uh am I an idea no is Martin an idea yes so can I be Martin no so then what could I be and that's all you really need because as soon as you see that you're not an idea and you're clear about it because you've answered it yes or no then you have to you naturally start trying to find what it is that you could be and and then it just it's just there you know you don't have to you don't have to complicate it by trying to understand just answering yes or no simple questions that's what initially helped the eye for me is I answered yes or no without knowing why I was answering it that way but I knew that the answers were correct and then then the mind slowed down and then it was very clear that is beautiful yeah that's really helpful thank you thank you I actually ask myself that you know like it's very clear that there is nothing here you know but then I was like and it's been for a while you know but I think for me it was more intellectual I don't know I don't know how you guys say it but it's just crystal clear there is nothing here but then I said why do I then identify so much with who I think I am I think what it is is that I identify with something like I still believe that something exists in this body like it's just the body you know like the body believes there is a me in here you know that's and I try to actually sit with that and you know then I sit on a meditation and all the boundaries of the body you know dissolved and you know I think I just need to practice that because it's very clear there is nothing here but I don't know where this identification comes from sorry it comes from thought if you don't think about it there isn't one that's right without the thought you can't identify you know that you are but without the thought you don't know who you are you don't know what you are you don't know where you are you don't know whether you're big or small you don't know whether you're the whole universe or nothing you don't know anything without the thought but you know that you are that's right and I have to also admit there is a lot of fear how do you know it is a fear you label it well when I wanna it's very kiddish I think there is a lot of fear and that's playing underneath and I actually feel it also come as painful pain in my body and just coming here it's helping me to be conscious of it I think it's been operating you know without and sorry yes yeah and you know yeah so I wouldn't do that kind of meditation at all at night if I'm by myself at home like that sort of kiddish you know fear that something is here like it comes at that kind of form you know so I think there is a lot of fear that stopping me from even getting deep into this like as soon as I get deep fear is coming up and I'm like I can't do this yeah you call it fear but do you have any trust at all in Bob or people who actually have the recognition can you actually do you have a trust in what those people are pointing to is actually trustworthy absolutely I totally do believe that but yes look with the but you actually discarding it and you actually losing the pointer Bob was saying it few times maybe you haven't heard it fear is a concept and the label but it is also it has physical component it is a sensation maybe heart pounding it may be the breathing so all this thing is thought based in the mind because unless there is a real danger like you have the silver tooth tiger in the room there is no reason for fear and the fear is still there so fear is the thought based it's subtle very subtle thought now I've heard Bob advising people quite a few times to realize that the worst case scenario in facing your fear is that you faint you're not going to die you're just going to faint for a few seconds is that something that you would be willing to accept that for a few seconds you just faint it's probably never going to happen because there is number less people here who actually took it to the heart and say okay I'm going to just keep looking and if that's going to kill me I'm willing to die for the truth for realizing the truth but the worst case scenario okay the mind pulls the bleph oh it's going to kill you that's dangerous don't do it don't do it stay with me stay identified it is a bleph you can call the bleph and say okay I'll faint fine and you will find out that it may never happen people who I heard relating it they said you call the bleph mind never make you faint you will just see through it and the mind will just relax and it's nothing the fear is a threat which is baseless if you trust pop just try check it for yourself see for yourself because oh if you don't give yourself time let's say okay for another year I'll be I'll be just surrendering to that fear and dropping off investigation and suffering but after that I'll just face it and if it kills me what is it gonna kill the body nah the mind it's just the software so what is it gonna kill the story yeah this fear is always about the future yeah that's a good point unknown that is a very good point the future and the unknown yes false evidence appearing real okay I have I have I have a comment from someone who is online with us he or she is hey you hi Bob and Kat just to ask regarding the consciousness or awareness needs a body organism to become aware of itself my question is that when Nisargadatta says he can see the body in deep sleep who says he says the body he yeah can you be aware without the body organism thanks and there is some other comment or a few more or sometimes he says from our perspective there is a body Nisargadatta talking or smoking but I am not it I left the body out of it I am not it my question is can you can you say heart or realize that our not the body without the body organism thanks because he said it when the body was in deep sleep he says he is conscious the body is there any comment on that Bob when you sleep you wake up in the morning and you know you slept well how would you know that there was cognizing there was nothing wrong and the easiest question first of all yes Nisargadatta is not here so we can't ask him to clarify what he meant by saying one thing or another but the main thing about the whole non-duality is not what is happening when we sleep or when we die or before we die or whether the body is here or not there this is all theoretical Julia would say mind shit or mind caca it is just a theory the practical existence right here right now is the body there well question it the appearance of the body is there and can the consciousness experience itself without that appearance of the body well the fact is the appearance of the body is there so we can go into the theoretical speculations and we can divide the room half of them believe that the body can half of them believe the body cannot but that's really moving away from the simple investigation and a simple investigation is always present there is no when we go to sleep!
right now because right now I'm not in sleep so I can't answer it yes yes do the thing you fear and the death of fear is certain do the thing you fear and the fear of death of fear is certain do the thing you fear see how bad it can get see how bad it can get something about the fear I got a couple of things yeah like that these are just experiences so I don't really have anything much to say or conclude but there's been many experiences where there's been an awareness of deep sleep and it's maybe not constant there's no time this doesn't prove anything or I don't know this is just sharing an experience but and it feels like there's an awareness of consciousness at rest or that's just one way of describing it but it's only like little snippets does it mean anything I don't know but the fear thing like I was in bed the other night about to go to sleep with my partner and she said and then this energy came into the room and it was like this sort of dark scary thing that come in and she really got so scared and then I could feel this fear and it was fantastic and I thought alright what's going to happen next right so she got up and she closed the door and I go excellent so now have you locked the energy in or have you locked it out and she could stop it stop and then we started to let's you know we can't lock it in or out let's go let's see what the hell is going on here let's investigate let's have a really good look and she said no but I want to play music or I just want to run away from it but let's just see where is it what is it and it was something seemed to be there and the more we looked and the more it just happened the more it ended up in this laughing frenzy of absolute delight and it was fully accepted whatever that sensation or energy was we were really just labelling energy we don't know what the hell we're talking about we're just putting a label on it because it's a sensation like this and it was just a beautiful experience really I don't know if anything comes of it that's all I get scared like I feel a presence in the room and I'm like what the hell is this and I you know lock the door yeah yeah yeah when I'm meditating and my heart you know beats like 200 you know and then I just go to that few place and just tell it to bagger off you're busy just asking scared who's holding the fear and then it just goes away oh that's a good good comment I got from Josh here just a quick one he says start from the knowing that there is no fear then what must the sensation be just the passing phenomena if there is no fear what is it and what yeah he says start from the knowing that there is no fear then what must the sensation be just erase that label from your dictionary because that concept fear when you call it fear Bob beautifully explains it you load yourself down with every fear you've ever experienced in your life and you multiply it it it's not necessary that mind activity the recognition it's a good function but it is actually not supportive at that point because it closes you up when you open up and then the vibration the sensation comes through and you're curious about it rather oh I know what it is it is fear I'm terrified you don't know shit like Dean was saying nobody knows anything really just be curious and see what it is if it is not fear what is it heart pounding oh yeah all right heart pounding heart pounds when you run too fast also or the breathing is shallow yeah the breathing is shallow it doesn't mean anything either and you see what else happens maybe the tension happens here maybe happens here maybe some images come in the mind a lot of things can be actually got to known you can just like beautifully Dean expressed how you know you actually let's let's look into it let's let's be curious about it let's really see how is the life essence manifesting itself as that presence of sensation and how it is projected out there there is a presence in the room and there is a response to the presence in the room amazing how fascinating but just being completely space like awareness field of curious consciousness without labeling anything because once you label you close yourself down you close your mind and it's all energy it's all energy everything is energy it just keeps the white sages racking sense next year all time yeah it's like the energy just before I'm about to speak this sensation and is it fear what is it you know and I used to get panic attacks years and years ago it was just horrid I didn't realize what it was especially the first time it just sort of came out of nowhere and it was incredibly energetic and sensational and it was horrid and it went on for years and I went to try and get help and therapy and this and where's it coming from I was trying to really work it out what it was happening and this went on for years so whenever I'd get a raised heartbeat even like I'd be walking the dog or something and the heartbeat would start just because of physical exercise it would just get worse and worse and all of a sudden I and it went away you know it was just incredible like after all that years and years and years of it I said do it you know like just kill me I had enough and yeah I still got it a few times after that but it became less and less and then eventually I haven't had it in years sorry on the way through!
I had to investigate fear particularly in deep meditation years ago and there was some great fear in there and when I looked into it when I went through the layers of it like investigated it it was fear of fear it was amazing that was that's what my experience was around it I'll do it on this way Bob I used to tell Bob that I used to get very nervous before I performed you know and he just said to me don't label it nervous it's just the energy you need to do the performance and you know I used to really feel the first song I sang was often very shaky and I wasn't singing my best and all that you know and it was because I had this label of nervousness and people would say are you nervous and I go no just getting the energy I need to do the performance and to say and go and say that Mrs.
White had a fright in the middle of the night eating she saw a ghost eating toast halfway up lamp and a lamp post Dean wants me to say something fear fear of the unknown we all face the unknown because you don't know what your next thought is going to be so what else do you know and it's interesting that Nisigadatta calls the physical body the food body the consciousness is feeding off the energy that the food body is creating and weaving new tissues cells are dying the whole process of you know being you know with this body is full of sensations so many sensations you can't really pay attention to all of them we haven't got many labels for most of those sensations or feelings but that's the livingness is happening and he says in one of his books he says find the spark that weaves the tissue of the body and stay with it it's a curious thing to say find the spark that weaves the tissues of the body and stay with it and I would add recognize that awareness is thought free and that's it you're saying as well that you said you knew you already know you're nothing or you know who you are right that's what you said so then are you the fear so then can you be the fear then no so there you go so then fear is happening yeah but you're not it and you know that so yeah it's a pleasant feeling you're alive yeah it's telling you you're alive embrace it I think it's a bit silly but I have the opposite fear so I like it when there's a presence in the room because I feel I'm afraid of abandonment or something like that so it's like the opposite if there is a presence in the room I'm like at least it's just me here yeah yeah I don't know different perspectives hello thank you thanks to everyone for sharing because that's something that I'm still dealing with here as well so anxiety and it seems very strange because the person hasn't broken here deeper things are being experienced but there's still the person here so when I'm not socialising I can let go really nicely now it can be difficult along the way but it's just starting to recognise that which is inside and knowing where it is and knowing how to let go let go into it be open to it and let go but then I come here to these meetings and there's a sharing that wants to happen there's such clarity in what's seen at a deeper level but then the person is still here as well which is and it's really strange but I think I can see why it's happening that way it probably needs to work itself out the way it is but yeah it's just amazing that a historical thing that you're dragging it around all the time and like you guys are saying every time a feeling comes up whether it's tightness or the fast beating heart or whatever uncomfortable thing we might experience in this life we put a story to it so this is fear and this is what it entails and this is what it's going to do to you and this is preventing you but like it's like just like everything everything is just a thing and an idea it's just another idea to see through whatever whatever stage it needs to be seen through like everything else like the unreality or you know like just everything for what it is and yeah it just it works really funny but even yeah I want to say something before just about the whole process of sort of undoing yeah and now fear's coming back up but yeah like at the end of the day you are pretty much what you eat as far as I can tell from my experiences here so if you believe you're a person you're going to see people and you're going to have personal experiences and you're going to have all the personal interactions if you let go a little bit more you might see souls so there'll be a play of souls happening or a play of light something will be happening and the further you let go there's nothing so it's that beingness that we all talk about it's just you in your rawest form there's no there's no conduit to experience yourself everything becomes direct so none of this stuff can exist the mind can't exist in this place there's no space for it because it hasn't been created by yourself so yeah it's very interesting just going sort of deeper and just yeah just seeing it and like we all everyone says here there's no substitute for direct experience so I mean yeah I can talk about it as much as I want and tell stories to everyone and stuff like that but and it is nice to share like I enjoy sharing here because a lot of the time the same things are bubbling up in everyone else that's happening here like this fear this anxiety that you know like thank you very much to everyone because it's it's still for whatever reason it's still something that's unclear here like even though there's clarity or there is that temporary experience and and this Mitra I think is what yeah something that might help you as well but like it's all a perfect process yeah like it's I know it's people might say to you just have a look at it and see like and sometimes you can't because you don't have you're not stable enough you're not still enough you're just too caught up in this play of thoughts it's like a spell so it's not real but for whatever reason we've our higher intelligence has put us in this play this dream where and we are we're always free but by our own choice as this expression of love we're yeah we're caught up in we're under a spell we've put ourselves under a spell which isn't a very great spell like when you can see the spell more and more it's really quite stupid it's just that we've got like the racehorse we've got our blinkers on so we can't see anything outside of our focus point but the more you let go the more you actually rest inside yourself and realise that recognition like oh like you know like more and more it's like a letting go and you're realising yourself you're knowing yourself and the more you rest in that the more everything works itself out it's like you're just showering in your own light like every time you meet yourself deeper and deeper not just the expression out here or not just like everything sort of changes everything becomes lighter because you're less caught up in the mind so the mind isn't as relevant anymore you found something that's overtaking that you're like oh well this is you know slowly slowly like your fears and everything won't disappear straight away but slowly like each time you visit you visit in here and let go more and more and trust that's that's massive like what we were saying before about trust the more and more you trust not anyone else but the more and more you trust yourself to sort of let go into yourself then the more easier it is the next time as well so your starting point the next time you come to sit down and and do your investigation or do your meditation or whatever you've you've actually got a new starting point so you're not so much in the mind anymore you're a little bit a little bit lighter a little bit less fear a little bit more clarity a little more available to you know to have a look so it's a perfect process but yeah like there are some important things which which I'm realizing over and over we're not going to have the time are we yeah just just the whole fact of and this is like really important for me like when I get lost sort of flipping and flopping still a bit you know like because it is difficult it's like you're going from the mind which is sense based and everything's structured and there's you know there's order to it and you're letting go of that and you're going beyond the senses which is you can't you can't you can't know you can't know the unknowable you can't know that which you are from something which is which is derived from it so the mind is just a little fart coming out of out of exist like out of yourself you know it is like a little a little fart and you want this yeah you want this inferior like this inferior thing we want we want to use that to know to know all that is yeah and it's and you can't do it and like in the process that you're going through it's it's normal it's just like every time you go in you're like a letting go letting go and the more you let go the more available you are not the farts just this just the and and this is yeah and this is really important something that you can that you can have a look at directly you know whether you're going deeper in or whether you're you know whichever place you're at just the contraction part of it so when you contract it's a tightening up it's a doing so every time you feel a contraction whether it's if you're contracting somewhere in your body you're holding that you're it's a holding pattern if you anywhere like anywhere in in what you're experiencing if there's a contraction if there's a tightness you're you're bringing yourself into the dream so you're it's a projection into the dream that seems like and and the more and more subtle your your viewing becomes the more you'll notice that and the more you can let go but yeah if you're contracting in any kind of way same as a person when you sign a contract as a person that makes you more of a person you're more dense you're more that person is more real now you know same as just in here you know if you contract in any way that contraction of energy it's a doing it's a there's something that you're that you're desiring to happen so just yeah watch out for the contractions as well which I think is unless you're in labor then you know it's a different story but I wanted to say something to me next time you say you're in fear I'll keep away from what say it again next time you say you are in fear after what Zoran was Zoran what Zoran said I'll steer clear review mind is like a fart I love it and we also have one one more comment from British Julia who says fear slash love same same and she puts a heart and Gioti says movie is only enjoyable when you can't see the acting and the character and characters appear real and that's yeah that's a beautiful way to put it on yes fear and love are same same you know it's just labels the two ended stick you know like no one ended stick but it's just one essence and mind is a fart I like that and that's the point in the whole show as Gioti says that's the point the show the movie is only enjoyable when you can't see the acting and it's so good that it fools you completely and the characters appear real that's the point so admire it for that whole you know this brilliant manifestation fear does it appear real you can say wow that's brilliant oh my god so well done you know it's not real but it's so authentic it feels so believable oh my goodness how what a brilliance you know brilliance of life to actually create a scene which is so believable and so engaging better than the 3D movie better than the best actors you're the Oscar actor you're in that scene you're the you know that's you can see it from space-like perspective how well done that whole manifestation is and just bow down to it wow get your mind blown away stay in the heart thank you thank you thank you thank you it's too late thanks everyone
