Andrew, George, Sebastian, rubbish, Matt, Peter, Dean and Bob. Where did you hear about this? On the leader. I've looked into this sort of stuff. Have you looked into this stuff a bit? Full of practical philosophy. Oh yeah, it made me take my ears out, I can't hear anything. Say the spiel and then you put them on and you'll get the usual. So give us a reminder and then after half an hour or 45 minutes or maybe an hour or so, we open the forum and we discuss and share. Okay, so what we talk about it, call it Advaita, non-duality and Advaita not duality means it's not two.
Advaita translated means... One without a second. That means the second on the clock but one without the other. It's all the one essence, patterning, shaping, forming, experiencing and expressing as everything. And it's nothing new, you'll see it in a lot of the great different traditions, all point to the same thing. So non-duality, you've got to have a sense of the essence. And then you can't just say, oh, I'm going to do this. Non-duality means the not two needs to recognise. That's what we point to and ask you to look to see for yourself. I can't teach you anything and I can't tell you anything. Understand that right from the start.
All I do is point toward and ask you to look to where I'm pointing to, to see for yourself. Because when you understand non-duality, you'll realise it. Nobody can ever teach you anything and nobody can ever tell you anything. Because it's all... We're not separate, we're not individuals, not persons, we're all the one essence. Patterning, shaping, forming and experiencing as everything. Another way I put it, I'm not speaking to any body. I'm not speaking to any mind. I'm not speaking to that body-mind identity that you think you are. I'm speaking to that I am. That I am. The I am is the sense of presence that expresses through the mind as the thought I am.
Just to this, nothing else. So there it is, all in a nutshell, it's all the one essence. It's patterning, shaping and forming and appearing and expressing as everything. And we label it as I am. I am is the sense of presence. It's not the thought. People think when it's I got to tell you something, just stay with the I am-ness. People think you've got to repeat that word all the time, I am, I am and I'm. It's not staying with the word at all. The word's not the thing. Staying with the sense of presence. You can't negate your being, your presence. It's presence awareness. Sat Chit Ananda Nama Rupa.
They are the five factors of intuition. Sat is existence. Chit is consciousness. Ananda is loving to be. And Nama Rupa, body-mind, they'll tell you is my-er, illusionary. This body-mind entity we think we are is illusion, not reality at all. So we ask you to look along those lines. See that the person, as Nargadatta will tell you in his book, I am That. Chapter 3 is that the person is not reality. He's telling you that. So we are not these body-mind separate entities we believe ourselves to be. We are the absolute or the great perfection. If... As they say, it's absolute. What can you add to the absolute?
You can't add anything to the absolute. It wouldn't be absolute. What can you take away from it? Nothing. Or as they put it in Buddhism, the perfection, great perfection. What can you add to the perfect? Nothing. What can you take away from it? And they give it to you in one sentence here. The great perfection is non-conceptual awareness. Sat Chit Ananda Nama Rupa. Sat is existence. Anyone who is not existing right now. And you realize, no, I'm existing. Anyone who is not conscious or unaware right now. No, I am aware. I'm conscious. Anyone who is not happy to be. Nobody wants to be dead right now, do you?
So you already are that. So you see from that if you're seeking to become something, the search becomes the problem. Because being can never be becoming. Becoming implies a future time. And when you look into time and investigate time, you'll see there's no such thing as time. If you ask yourself, is there a past if I don't think about it? Have a look at what can you say without the thought. Can you say there's a past or a future? You can't. Are you this body? Are you this mind? Well, when you look into that, you realize you're not. You say, my body. My mind. Don't you say my car, my house, my shirt, my hat.
You know you're not the car, the coat, the shirt or that. Maybe you're not the body either if you investigate it. And that's one of the important things we say in this, that the false cannot stand up to investigation. And if you know the truth, as the scripture will say, the truth is in the mind. If you know the truth, as the scripture will say, the truth will set you free. You're free of all these conceptual beliefs we've taken on board that keep us separate and apart. So, are you the mind? Again, we say my mind. Well, if you think you're the mind, show me a thing called mind.
What do you call mind? It's my mind. And who would it belong to? Me. This so-called seeming person. So, when you investigate, have a look at it. What's this body made up of? Well, have a look into it, you'll see the body's made up of elements. Air, earth, fire, water, space. Just the same as the elements around you. Take the air out of your body. See if it can last without the air. Take the water. The body's 60% water. How long would you last without that element? Take the fire, the body temperature. You'd soon get hypothermia and die. Get off the earth, get out of space.
Separate yourself if you can. So, you realise you are not this person. You are not this separate entity. All those elements can be broken down into subatomic particles, into pure energy. So, all this body is is a vibrating pattern of energy. All of the manifestation is a vibrating pattern of energy. What about this thing called mind? I can't find anything you can call mind here that I'm claiming to be my mind. And what is mind after all? It's basically thought. And what is thought? Thought's a vibration. What's a vibration? A sound, a vibration, a movement. So, all of thought is is a vibration of energy.
So, all this manifestation is made up of that, what I call, one of a bit of term, intelligence energy. It's not your intellect. Energy itself is suffused with an innate intelligence that enables it to pattern, shape and form and express in all this manifestation. And all this pattern, this body-mind that we call ourselves, is not a manifestation or appearance made up of that intelligence energy, the activity of knowing. I don't use the term God here because he gets confused with that term. Because all the different traditions have got different ideas or concepts about what God is. And so we get mixed up with it all and argue and fight over these different things.
But I use the intelligence energy when I'm talking about intelligence. I'm not talking about your intellects because there are different degrees of intellect in this room. I'm talking about the same intelligence that's rolling the earth around the sun. Causing the seasons to come and go. The tides to come in and out. It's the same intelligence that's breathing you right now. It's beating your heart. It's growing your hair and your fingernails. Digesting your food. And all that is vibrating energy. Movement. It's suffused with that innate intelligence. The knowing. That's another way to put Satyaginanda. Being, knowing and loving to be. Anyone who's not being right now.
You want to know I'm being. Anyone who's not knowing that they are. Know that knowingness is there. And don't you all love to be? Again, pointing out that you actually, you are already that. You're not this person. If you believe you are the person, when did you begin? You'll say I began at birth. Alright, can any one of you actually remember your birth? You can't. Remember your birth. People claim to remember but you can't. Remember your birth because you had no words. How could you say I was born if you had no words? And you didn't have any words until about two, two and a half.
When the capacity of reasoning came upon you. And that capacity of reasoning is that innate intelligence that's functioning and vibrating as this body. Came about and you learnt words. So you didn't have any words before that. So the first couple of years of your life were without words. And then you picked up words from your parents when you told your little Billy or your little Johnny or little Mary, whatever your name might be. We put these conceptual labels on you. And instead of being I am the absolute, I am the one essence appearing, patterning, shaping, forming, expressing as everything. I am already that. You say I am by.
You say I am Bob or the Australian or the good fella or I'm this, that or that. We've separated ourselves and believed in that separation. And we think if we do this mantra, say this word and go to this, that, that, we will become something. But being can never become anything. Being is actually right now. Anyone who is not being right now, becoming implies a future time. And when you investigate time, you'll see that time is a fiction also. Ask yourself this. Is there a past if I don't think about it? And have a look at that. Investigate. And that's another thing we point out, that the false cannot stand up to investigation.
You've taken on these beliefs which are not the truth. And that's the saying again, know the truth. And the truth will set you free. What are you going to be free from? Free from all these beliefs we've taken on. Have a look at that word belief. What's the dictionary definition of belief? When you look into it, the dictionary definition of belief is an unquestioned acceptance of something in the absence of reason. And even if we haven't reasoned it out, we've just taken it for granted. A question of a fact without positive knowledge or proof. We've taken on these beliefs without any positive... When you investigate it and have a look at it.
Can you go back and live yesterday? You can't. You can't live in the past. It's all the time, is past, present and future. But you'll say, I was in the past. Well, try and live yesterday. And you realise you can't go back. You can recall it. But the only actuality you're giving it is when you're recalling it right in this moment. If you're not recalling it, you can't say there is such a thing. There's a past. The future. You can anticipate and imagine the future. But you can't live a moment in the future. You can't tell me what you're going to do when you leave here.
You've got an idea. But we anticipate and imagination. And it mightn't work out that way. So the concept of time is a fiction. That leaves you with this total presence, omnipresence. And that's what a lot of the scientists, they call God, if you like. Omnipresence, omnipotence, omniscience. Total presence. Total power. Total intelligence. Total. No room for any separation. And there isn't. It's all the one essence. Patterning, shaping, forming, appearing and expressing as everything. And the great mantra is, I am that. That's the great mantra. Innately we know it already. Because you say, that's the chair I'm sitting in. That's the room I'm in. That's the space that's in the room.
That's the tree. That's the flower. That's the bird. That's the air that's shot. Everything is that. Which we put words on. Now you didn't have any words until you learnt words from your parents. About two and a half or somewhere around that age. And your parents learnt words from them. And we've taken the words to be real. So that means the first couple of years of your life, you didn't have any words. You were living without the words. And the words, all mind is, is words, thoughts, ideas, images. And if you could live for the first couple of years of your life without any words, what would that mean?
Wouldn't it mean you're prior to thought? You are prior to the mind? You're before the mind. You're before the thoughts. Why that? Why that? This is how the Sarcodesis tells us there's only life. There's nobody who lives a life. Life lives on life. Throughout a life, more life comes. And isn't that so? When did you begin? All these words you're speaking now, they've all been picked up along the way because you weren't born with any words. We've learnt words from our parents. And then we went to school, learnt more words. And then we believe the word and we take the word to be real and relate it to this conceptual image.
I am. The sense of presence which we take to be this body, mind, person. But what does Christ tell you? I am the way. I am the truth. I am the life. People thought he was talking about himself. He wasn't. He was talking about that sense of presence. This is a life. The truth. Hey, good to see you. So that I am-ness is just that sense of presence. The sense of presence expresses itself, expressing through, as this mind, as this body, mind, entity. And we've taken it to be the real. And so realise every word you've ever spoken or ever liked to speak has been picked up along the way.
And I am is this sense of presence. Not the thought, not the person. And where does that word person come from if you believe yourself to be the person? And realise it comes from the ancient Latin. Persona. A mask. So we've got this mask of concepts. I'm Bob, the Australian, the good fellow, or not so good, I'm unhappy, I'm fearful, or I'm anxious, I'm depressed. All concepts. What's a concept? A mental construct. An idea, a sound, a pattern of energy. We've taken it to be real. We call ourselves human beings. And if we believe in God, we call God the Supreme Being. What happens if you take that word supreme off?
Take the word human off? Try and separate your beingness right now without the words. Can you separate your beingness? Can you say, I am not? You can say it as much as you like, what enables you to say it? If that life essence wasn't there. That pure beingness. That beingness as knowing and loving to be. It's all that one essence, which people like the term God, but that's where we get mixed up with the belief that there's such a thing as a God. And that God is superior and higher to what you or I am. Not realising it's all the one essence. And Christ told you that again, taught someone.
He says, I and the Father are one. It's all the one and the same thing. But the Father, the one essence, is greater than I. I is just a conceptual image. I believed in a separate thought. So we learn these words and separate ourselves. Look and investigate that. How did you come about? Well, go back to your father and your mother. That animating life essence, that intelligence, that intelligence energy, was in the pattern, shape and form of your father. In that pattern, through the essence of the food he's eating and the breath he's taken, enabled in that pattern a little microscopic particle called a sperm to form.
You can't see it with your naked eye. Now that sperm was suffused with intelligence energy. It knew what to do. And the same functioning life essence in your mother, in that pattern, enabled in that pattern another microscopic particle called an egg to form, an ovum. And that ovum was suffused with intelligence energy. It knew what to do. It attached itself to the wall of the uterus. And the sperm swimming to the ovum knew what to do. It knew to swim to the ovum and penetrate the ovum. And when those two came together, what happened? That innate intelligence energy, again being added to by the genes and the essence of the food, the food he's eating, enabled in that pattern a little embryo, a little fetus to form.
And that's what you are today. What were you doing about it then? And what are you doing about it now? Nothing at all. It's naturally growing of itself and changing. It's constantly transient. We don't realise that, that this body is transient. It's changing right now in this moment. It's not the same body you walked in this room with. There are thousands of cells, not one or two, but thousands of cells dying in it right now and being replaced. And each cell suffused with that intelligence energy knew what to do. A liver cell doesn't become a heart cell. A heart cell doesn't become a brain cell or a skin cell.
Each cell knows innately what to do and it replaces it. So you see, this is all this vibrating pattern. And all this manifestation is that intelligence energy, which vibrates into different patterns, shapes and forms. But it's never been separate, it's never been apart. And it's always been the one essence. It's appearing as essence in everything. Just like a dream. You go to sleep at night and the dream will start. In that dream you can be in the hills, the mountains, shopping mall, here, up at the plane, anywhere at all. Doing all sorts of things. But wake up from the dream, what happens? It all disappears.
You might have a slight memory of it, but it all disappears. The mountains and the hills and everything have disappeared and gone. And you wake up to what you don't realise. You wake up to this dream. And this is a dream also. This is a waking dream. The dream you have at night, when you wake up in the morning, it goes away. The world disappears and everything in it. You might have a bit of a memory of this, that and the other, and that won't last for long in the memory. But it's all disappeared. When you wake up in the morning, you wake up, don't realise, you wake up from where you left off the night before.
The thing in the dream has disappeared. But when you wake up it carries on from where it left before. So the mountains, the hills, the house and everything else are still there. And it carries on. This is the dream. The waking dream. And Sargadatta tells you that. He says, you are dreaming a dream you call the world. He says, stop looking for ways out. The dream is not your concern. Your concern is you love one part of the dream and not the other. He says, love all of it or none of it. Realise it's not separate. It's all the one essence. He says, love all of it or none of it.
And the rest will be taken care of. In other words, it works itself out, which it does. It's growing you, it's beating your heart, it's digesting your food, it's been living you all this time. It'll carry on doing that. But we've separated ourselves into this persona, this mass, this conceptual image. And it's only me can be fearful. It's only me can be anxious. It's only me can be unhappy, depressed, guilty. Me is the cause of all my psychological suffering, my fears, my anxiety, my stress. And the effects are the anxiety, the stress, the fear, the anger, the jealousy, the envy. They're all the effects of that cause.
And isn't that what so-called karma is? Cause and effect? Well, what happens if I ask myself the question, can there be effect if I'm not relating to a cause? Well, work it out for yourself. If you're not relating to a cause, where can there be effect? So you can be free of your karma, all this bullshit that goes on. You can be free of it. Instead of weighing yourselves down, that I am Bob, the Australian, the separate entity, the unhappy, the depressed, the anxious person, know for the fact that I am the reality. I am the absolute. I have always and ever be that. And so I've got to also tell you, nothing can trouble you excepting your own imagination.
And Shakespeare tells you, there's nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so. So I've got to tell you, there's nothing can trouble you excepting your own imagination. Break that word imagination down to image in. Imagine. And when he says you're dreaming a dream, you call the world, we've got all these conceptual images, and dreaming a dream, this world is real. Have a look in the mirror. What do you see in the mirror? There's a mirror at the end of the room there. Have a look at it. What do you see in the mirror? Realise you see nothing but the world. Nothing but reflections or images.
Now go up to the mirror and try and grab an image out of the mirror. You realise you can't. You can't grab the image out of the mirror. So you can't say it's not there. But try and get something out of it, you can't say it is there. So it is and it is not. And that's how this world manifests. Seemingly is and is not. It pairs, vibrates dualistically in the pairs of opposites, which we seemingly separate, but it's not separate at all. Now when the thought comes up, good and bad, we think we want the good thoughts, we don't want the bad. And we separate them.
Try to push out the good, not realising it's two ends of the one stick. That's how I put it. Or two sides of the one coin. And just like the earth rolling around the sun, when it's facing towards the sun like it is now, what's there? There's light. When it keeps rolling around and it faces the other way, there'll be darkness here and light at the other end. Do you think the sun knows anything about darkness or light? Or the earth knows anything about darkness or light? It doesn't. Because it's all one essence. It hasn't divided itself. The same with our thinking. We think it's good and bad and we divide it when it's not divided at all.
So instead of trying to push it out, which we do, resist it and struggle with it and get into all sorts of trouble, leave it as it is and it'll move on by itself. Lift as it is. It will move on. And it must swing around to the opposites again. Because that's how it's dividing all the time in the interrelated pairs of opposites. Watch it. Good, bad, pleasant, painful, happy, sad, loving, hating, positive, negative, likes, dislikes, wants and don'ts, wants and all the rest of it, always vibrating dualistically. And there is absolutely nothing in non-duality. They haven't recognised it. Absolutely none whatsoever. We've taken on the duality and suffered that fight.
No wonder you can't find it. Because we're searching for something that you already are. And haven't recognised it. And we weren't told about it when we were children. We were told to acquire, amass, accumulate, add to, gather, get the more we got, the better we'd be. But have you ever seen the Million Dollar Man? No. But have you ever seen the Millionaire with enough yet? Or anybody else? Not realising to go back and recognise your true nature. And realise you already are and always were and always will be the absolute. The false cannot stand up to the world. I am not this person. I am not this individual.
I am the one intelligence and energy, that intelligence energy, what I use the term, instead of using the term God, is the activity of knowing. Intelligence is knowing. Any intelligence, knowing this, knowing that, is intelligence. And knowing, the I-N-G on it, is an activity. A movement of energy. And isn't that going on with you right now? Aren't you knowing right now? Aren't you being, you're seeing, you're hearing? See how it works in you. Something comes up and you like it. Oh, this is a good thought. I want it. Not realising that it's all transient, as I pointed out earlier. It's all constantly changing. No matter how much you love them or how much you want to keep it there, it's going to change.
Can't help it. That's the natural way of it. But we don't want it to go. So what do we do? We think we're going to keep it there. So we resist it from going. Realise that any resistance you are in, you are in conflict. So we're at war with it. Trying to get rid of it. Or trying to keep it there, the good stuff. We want to keep it there. We don't want the bad. We try to push through it. So we're in conflict with it. Conflict makes you unhappy, fearful, anxious, depressed, guilty. It brings about that conceptual image. Something comes up and you don't like it.
Oh, I shouldn't be having that thought. I'm a sinner. I'm this, that and the other. I shouldn't be thinking those thoughts there about. So what do we do? We resist it again. Trying to push it out. Get rid of this one. We're trying to keep the other one. This one we're trying to push out, not realising there are two ends of the one stick. You can't push them out. So we've got this struggle of dividing the indivisible. Separating the inseparable. Because it's all the one essence. Patterning, shaping, forming, experience. And expressing as everything. And you are already and only that. But while we're seeking or searching, trying to become, becoming is not being, as I pointed out before.
Take away the human and take away the supreme. Try and separate the beingish. You realise you can't. So start from the fact and stay with the fact that you are already and only and ever that. That's basically what we pointed out. Other things might come up during the talk. I'm not remembering right now. And I'm forgetting a hell of a lot of it. I'm getting to the age where the memory's going a bit. But you can't negate your beingish. You can't negate your knowingness. And you'd love to be right now. Nobody wants to be dead right now. So you must love to be. So what we point out is everybody is already that.
If you've got any doubts or questions, don't hesitate to ask them. Some of you have got taste of it and looked into it before and got taste of it and might be able to point it out in a bit different the way I am. Other people might hear it where they might not hear what I'm saying. But everybody is already and only and ever that. They call it cognising emptiness in Buddhism. That's another term they put on it in Buddhism. We think we cognise. That's another term they put on it in Buddhism. We think we know the emptiness or know the emptiness. In other words, cognising is knowing.
We don't. It's the emptiness itself that does the cognising because he turns around and he says emptiness is form. Pointing out it's this emptiness of self that's vibrating, and all these things. And he turned that around and said the form can be nothing other than the emptiness. So it's all that emptiness that's vibrating into these different words, thoughts, ideas, images, the trees, the flowers and everything else. Everything is that already. And you know that innately because you say that's the chair, that's the carpet, that's the tree, that's the flower. You already know it's all that. That is what is. What is is that. So anyway, get a few words and get on.
And then you can ask questions or get into it and tell us all about it. Welcome everyone. We have 25 people with us who are online. And they wish everyone a happy Easter and greetings. And Donna is at work. She's working. Lots of love from the audience. Ram says, lots of love from Maureen. And Ram was saying something funny. Ah, greeting evil ones. Greetings evil ones. Because everyone is sending, throwing love. So he's kind of my thing. Evil ones. Love you Bob and Kat says John. And usually at that point we have questions or comments from people who are with us today. There is no questions.
There is no comments. So the forum is yours. If you have any doubts about what Bob was saying, if something didn't sit right and you would like him to clarify or anyone in the room because there is always a handful of people with really beautiful clarity within who are not as seeking. They come back to just being that mighty companion and to express the love to Bob and gratitude. So we're going to hear from them. From you guys. So if there was something that you have doubts about or questions or if there was something that you heard profoundly and it touched your heart and you would like to just voice it up and say it out loud how it landed.
Because if it really. Hits the spot. You will speak it with that clarity and that certainty and people who are around us and there will be a few hundred later on watching it. You can actually be at service. So we're going to be passing microphone because we didn't find a better system. Anyone would like to say anything. Oh, I guess I'll go to the question. Oh, wonderful. Just to get to get to. Yep. Okay. To to testing a question for Bob. Yeah, I've I've read the book. I am that in this data is like the universe is talking through him. So I guess my question is related to you Bob like were you seeking so to say because obviously you ended up in India.
So were you seeking and you were in India. So how did you hear about Nisa Gaddafi and I guess why did you want to see him and you actually spent 12 months with him. So I'm just wondering what the lead up what was to that. There's alcohol. Sorry. Alcohol. He was drunk. He was suffering. I was a deadbeat. It was a stiff and was a bum. Oh, right. I went to manage to get to the fellowship of IA. You've heard of IA? IA? Alcoholics Anonymous. Oh, yes. Yes. I got there and I managed to stop drinking. And if you stop drinking and when it's a get cleaned up a bit get cleaned up and had a and get dressed up and I was like, Oh, I'm going to get a little bit of a drink.
And then get dressed up and I was able to get a pliable again and getting employed about it. I got a few bickies in the bin and the arrogance that was there came back and I said, I don't know because I had 12 steps on my wall which talked about God as you understand him and I would never borrow that. I said, I don't need any of that shit. And so I went out and left the fellowship and drank again. Finished up back in the gutter again. And somehow or other, I don't know why or how, but I got back there. Stopped drinking again and this time somebody in the fellowship handed me a book called Somebriety and Beyond written by a Catholic priest who was an alcoholic.
And in the end, he had this statement, we alcoholics are given a second chance at life and I thought, shit. I've been here, I've been a dead beat. I've had it. Broke out again and got back in. But I've managed to get out. I've managed to get back. I've been given a second chance. And then underneath it he had the question, how well do you use that second chance? And that came to me, well there's only one way I can use it. Find out. Find out what it is that's given me a second chance. Maybe there is such a thing as a higher power of the God.
And that started me on the search. Being a westerner, I looked into Christianity first. Then that took me to the east, the eastern stuff. The Maharishi came out here in 62. I heard him speak and that put me on to Morton. And then Muktananda came out in 70. And I went and followed him for a while. And that took me to India and went over to his ashram. And when I went to the ashram, people were saying you should, you know, a few westerners there, they were saying you should go and see this bloke. It was the saga that I, I'm loyal to the Guru, I don't want to see him, you know.
I wouldn't have a barren. They offered me the book and there was a fellow in there, Bombay, that used to take people to him, Morris Friedman at the time. So he wrote the book I Am That. And that's that. He used to take people to the west and I wouldn't go and see him either. So I went into an Indian bookshop one day looking for books and I'd read a book here and there, you know. There was nothing there that appealed to me. I went and looked through a few. And I'm going out the door. And the fellow behind the counter says, this is the book you should read.
And it was I Am That. Again. Again. And I'm saying, ah, this is, it was dawn on me. Wait a minute. This is too much of a coincidence. I'd better have a look at it. So I opened a couple of pages. And what I read rang a bell. Resonated. So his address was in the front. And I went around there. And that was it. And I came back here. And went to AA. Started going to AA meetings there. And I started to slip a bit of the Sarcadetta stuff into it. You know, into the talks. And most of them wouldn't have a bar of it.
But after a while a woman came up to me and said, I like what you've got. I want what you have. So it was the opening to start speaking about this stuff. And I did. And it's gone on from there. And at that time when I broke from the Sarcadetta, a couple of other fellows had gone out and got drunk. That I knew in the fellowship. One had jumped out of the Federal Hotel in Scotland Street. And the other one had shot himself. I'd been given the second chance. Anyway, I started talking to another bloke coming to me. A wild Irishman. Dirty on the world.
He'd been brought up in the Catholic Church. And priests and ministers. And he was crooked on the world. And he used to thump the table when he was talking about it. He took, souls, he says. I've got three souls. The soul that leaves me, hears me, asshole. And in his talk he said, I'm trying to find myself. And I went up to him after. I said, you want to find yourself? Expecting to get a smack in the mouth from him, you know. And he said, yes. And he started to listen to what I said. And he got a bit of a story about it. But after a while he got liver cancelled.
And he was in the boarding house. He'd lost his job. He'd lost his wife. And he sold his house. He was living in the boarding house. And he says, listen. I don't want to stay here. The woman will kick me out and send me into a hospice or something. So we had a health food shop at the time. So we had a room above it. So we put him in the room above. And the doctor used to see him. Come and see him when he was dying. And the doctor was so amazed at the way he was handling death. That the doctor started to come to the groups too.
And it's gone on from there. And the group was going for probably about 40 years now. Unlike in every group, the bricks are changing. But the house stays there. People who got a little bit of help, they don't show up. Some of them who do come to say thank you. And this is going. He's available also over Skype. He's meeting with people. He may have a few calls a week or a few calls a day. It depends on the need. Usually free. Hardly anyone gives a donation or something. But we're short of nothing. Life looks after us. If I can just ask one more question, please.
Please. I guess have you had, it's hard to put in words. So have you had the experience or experiences and when, approximately when the first one happened? And what were the conditions that led up to that? Resonating with what's being said, you know. Life has all sorts of conditions. I've done Kundalini yoga and that all. Doing all sorts of things with that. And all sorts of, the first one was with the Maharishi, you know. I heard what he was saying, resonated with what he was saying. And then I had a big expression there. Appearance, when I got initiated, there was a photo on the table.
And I said, you know, I'm going to do this. And I'm supposed to take a bit of fruit and a bit of white cloth. And so I went and sat with this, I didn't even look at the photo. And I got the mantra whispered in my ear, you know, sort of thing. And I went out from there and did it for a little while. And thought I'll do this myself. Won't do it anymore. But after a while it disappeared. I got this initiation. And I'm walking down to catch the train to go to work. And I was a nasty bastard at the time. Dirty on the world and everybody in it, you know.
And I'm walking down to catch the train and I lit up my client. And it was the face of this guy in the picture. Which I could hardly, hardly took any notice of. And that was Maharishi's guru. Do you know his name or no? Oh, I forget what it is now, yeah. It's, I forget a lot of things. Yeah, Google knows it. I don't know that guy. Anyway, anyway. Anyway, you all start looking it up and then do something. Yeah, no, it doesn't matter. Yeah. And people, when I got to work, people said to me, what's wrong with you? Were you in love or something?
I said, yeah. But it wasn't with a woman. I was in love with the world. I felt as though I could have walked off the tallest building and floated on there, you know. That stayed with me for a while and then it disappeared. And then go on, kept going back and other things would come and other things would go. Changes kept going. Changes kept going on until I got to the Sargadatta. And when I went and heard him, he told me what I'd heard many, many times before. You're not the body, you're not the mind. I said, oh, you heard all that stuff. But this time I really heard it.
And I said, I'll never be caught in the mind again. But I walked out the door and I was. But it wasn't the same. I'd really seen through it. And it came up then, well, hang on a minute. You've seen through this. Have another look and see if you're seeing correctly. Thank you. I have a couple of comments from people who are with us here. And this is from John David. There appeared to be a good response from the Facebook posts this week from you concerning non-doership. Maybe you could elaborate on that, Kat. There is, we have some of our people who come here started a Facebook group called Silo Bob Pointers and Sharing.
And people occasionally share and point. And I put the snippets of his. And I put the snippets of his talks and some pictures. And there was something about non-doership. I didn't actually see the responses. But would you like to say something about non-doership? That's such a basic concept about, you know, if there is no imagined self, then who is the doer? Well, doing happens by itself. Like the seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, smelling. Have a look at it. Investigation. Any personal doership. What's your next thought going to be? And you can't tell me. Nobody knows what the next thought's going to be. But then it will come up.
The thought will come up and you'll say, I think. I think this thought. The thought I think has become the thinker, the subject. Now instead of just a thought, it's a subject, it's me. And the thought, what I'm thinking, the good or bad, has become the object. So the division is there. Subject, object. Thinker and thought. But can there be a thinker without thinking? Have a look at that. And can there be the thought without thinking? You realize there can't be a thinker without thinking. There can't be the thought. Can there be a seer without seeing? Can there be a hearer without hearing? So you see the actuality is the seeing, the hearing, the tasting, the touching, the smelling, the thinking.
The I-engine is something that's going on right now. But the I see, I think, I feel, I think is all fictional. You're relating to this conceptual image, I, which is just a concept, a word. Not your body or your mind, not the person. It's just a thought. So it's realized that the innate intelligence, the life itself is functioning. It's breathing you, it's beating your heart, growing your hair and your fingernails, digesting your food. And it's doing the thinking, the seeing, the hearing, tasting, touching, smelling. All spontaneously and naturally. Time doesn't come into it because it's all spontaneous. When does now begin? Try and grasp it.
You'll say, I've got it now. But as soon as you've said that, it's finished. It's beginning again. So it's all spontaneous. There's no duration to it. I give it the idea there's duration, there's a beginning and an end. But when does now begin? People think it begins with a big bang, thousands of years ago. But anything that has a beginning must have an end. And don't they talk about world without end? Has no beginning and no ending. It's always this ever fresh presence awareness. So when you look at that and see it now, it's beginning right now. You see it's all spontaneous, timeless. A spontaneous moment, ever fresh and ever new, as I tell you.
It's ever fresh presence awareness. Not the past awareness or the future awareness. That pre-sense, before it's put any sensations or labels on it, is the pure knowing, pure intelligence energy. I call it intelligence energy. You can call it God if you like. But have a look at that word God and see in the beginning it tells you in the Bible, in the beginning it was the Word. The Word was with God. The Word was God. That's all God is, is a label. All things were made by Him, by the Word. There's nothing made that was made without the Word. Isn't that so? The tree, the flower, the room, the thing, all words.
Everything that we label are words. What's it all appearing in? Well, it's appearing in the presence awareness, the space. The absolute space. Can you find a centre to space? You can't. Can you find a beginning to it? Can you find a boundary to it? You can't. Does it have any centre to it or any beginning, any end? It can't. And space is absolutely empty. It is no thing. You can't grasp it, you can't see it. And it's the closest thing to your eyeballs. You're not out of space, but you can't say what it is. It is no thing to the mind. So it's a space-like awareness.
Now everything is the content of space. Can you postulate or think of anything that could be outside of space? What would it be in? You realise it'd have to be in space. You can't think of anything at all that could be outside of space. So you realise that you and I and everything, all this manifestation is no thing. It's all no thing appearing as things. Because if everything is the content of space, you can't tell me anything that comes outside. And space is no thing. Can something come from no thing? It's impossible. So it's all no thing, which we put the label on and believe to be things.
We've taken all this manifestation to be separate. We are separating it and divide it. Conceptually, what I told you before is the indivisible and the inseparable. It doesn't happen. And it won't happen. You investigate, you look at it. See, I am going to become this if I meditate, if I do this mantra, if I do this practice. I will become. Becoming is not being. And being can never become. Because being, like the I-N-G on the other thing, is right now. You're not was-ing or you're not will-be. You are being. And always and naturally are only that beingness. So you are that pure being, knowing, loving to be.
You're already that. But now we're out of that. We're out of that. We're in the habit of saying, somebody asks you who you are, you say, I am Bob. Instead of saying, I am the absolute, I am the great perfection, you can't go around saying that anyway. People will think you're a fucking idiot. But you know you can't negate that beingness. You cannot say, I am not. You're all sitting there now to tell yourself, I am not. And you see the ridiculousness of it. Ridiculousness of it. How could it be said if I'm not? So what you are, you are already are. That, that is what you are.
But we put labels on it. Bob, Bill, Harry, this, that, and the other. But everything is that. Always, already, and ever. Yeah, that's beautiful. So John was saying, concerning non-doership. So if there is, if you are the sense of presence, which you can't deny, the existence, the beingness, the sat chitananda, and now you imagine that you are some sort of a controller, some imagined self apparently produced in the left side of the brain called default network, default mode. But if we imagine that there is an ego or self or some sort of a driver of that vehicle, and that imagined self has any possibility to choose their thoughts, as Bob was showing, you don't know what your next thought is.
So how is that imagined self choosing? So how is that imagined self choosing the thoughts or actions? And being a doer and being responsible or guilty or whatever. That's obviously, if the self is imagined and nobody has ever found it, no science cutting the body in pieces, no neuroscience. What they say default mode network is the hallucination of the self going through time. Even the time is hallucinated. When you stop thinking about yesterday, it disappears from the experience. It can't be experienced. Directly we know this moment is the moment. Now, and we know that we are. That's the sense of presence. That's all. The rest is imagined.
What I am, who I am, my boundary, my shape, my form, my name. Nama, Rupa, like Bob was saying, name and form. This is all imagined. So how the imagined self can be a doer? It can only imagine to be the doer. And I think that's what you meant, John, right? That as the space or life, yes, I'm the only doer. Yes, as life, I'm rolling the earth around the sun and exploding stars. And changing the body and breathing. But as the imagined self inside the body, what can I do? What can the Santa Claus do if it doesn't exist? It doesn't go through the funnels bringing kids.
This is just a story. It's an imagination. It doesn't happen. So the doership is imagination. Taking credit for actions of the body, which is basically just a bio computer programmed by the conditions. So it runs when it needs to. It feeds itself. Taking credit as an imagined self for all those actions is laughable and is unnecessary. And it creates stress. It creates suffering. Because now I'm unworthy. Now, like Bob was in his drinking years, and every seeker actually can relate to that sense of void. That, oh, I'm longing for some sort of a completeness. I have to find myself or God or something that completes me.
And have you seen a millionaire who had enough? And he's also seekers. But they think the salvation is in wealth. Or people who are sex addicts or shopping addicts or alcohol addicts. They all look for the sedation of that innate sense of incompleteness, that suffering that kind of penetrates through your guts and make you feel that I'm not enough. I'm not lovable. I need something to complete myself. This is all because we imagine being limited. When that imagination drops away. Life is infinite. There's nothing that needs to be complete about who you are right now. Without that image of the self, Bob calls it a conceptual image.
We put on like a costume. And we wear that conceptual image. I'm Polish or Australian or woman or man or whatever. That is just habituated consequence of taking up the language which separates things by using labels. And it is unnecessary. Making sense of the world is much easier and much more intuitive and much more correct if you look at the rest of the nature apart from humans. Without imagine constructing the driver of that vehicle. Animals don't construct the self. So they of course experience pain. They experience hunger. They run when they chase. But there is no story about it going on. Oh, it shouldn't have happened to me.
Why me? Why God picks on me? Why nobody? Why everyone hates me? Those fears, fears of rejection, stuff like this are not part of the life of those cats sitting out there. And that's how simple the life can be without that imagination. And Amarnath is commenting on what you were saying, Bob, about the doubter. Itself is the doubt. Questioner himself is the question. That there is no duality. Like Bob was saying about the thinker and the thought. Can't be divided any other way. Thinking is happening. Thinker and thought appears in it. And disappears in it. And thinker itself is a thought, Amarnath says. And Vivek says, due to this intelligent energy, Bob calls it intelligence, not intelligent energy.
It's not a thing. It's just a process. But intelligent energy is a word as well. Anything that resonates. Some call it awareness. Some call it consciousness. God, love, whatever. It's a label. It isn't something that is a thing. It is the sense of presence here. It isn't out there. Consciousness, God. But intelligence energy or intelligent energy, whatever works. That was, gosh, I lost it. Sorry. Vivek was saying, due to this intelligent energy, small aim leads to achieving the absolute. You get it? And Vivek also says, I reached my spiritual guru. I wanted to be away from worldly suffering. And he gave me much greater gift, the absolute.
Thanks to my master and that intelligent energy, Atman. Yes, good point, Vivek. Atman, if you want to assume a guru, we are not worshipping a messenger. Find that this guru is not a messenger. Find that this guru is everywhere. It's inside out. It has no limits. It is the life itself. It may speak with greater clarity to this one, but it is running. It is beating your heart. It isn't far away. And Arjun says, Siddhara Meshwar. Oh, no, Siddhara Meshwar was Nisargadatta's guru. It wasn't Maharishi Mahesh Yogi guru. It was a different guy. But thank you, Arjun. Thank you, Vivek. Thank you, Vivek. Thank you, Vivek.
Thank you, Vivek. Thank you, Vivek. Thank you, Vivek. Thank you, Vivek. Thank you, Vivek. Thank you, Vivek. Thank you, Vivek. Thank you, Vivek. Thank you, Vivek. Thank you, Vivek. Thank you, Vivek. Thank you, Arjun. Thank you, Arjun. Thank you, Arjun. Thank you, Arjun. Thank you, Arjun. And Dan says, Beautiful. And Richard, Guru Brahmananda Saraswati. Yeah, that one. That was the one. Thank you, Richard. And Tanya says, Good morning all one. Love to you all, as you are the love I am. That's it, yes. Hi, Tanya. And Donna says, was a seeing that everything is made out of that vibrating loving light like you said earlier there was so much joy in that time and then it left and it was seen that even that was seen all experiences are relative and come and go we can never know what we truly are beautiful we will always fail because we cannot be separate from what we are brilliant point yes looking or defining oneself is pointless like how can you divide define yourself like Gita says I can't see itself the ear can't hear itself the tongue can't taste itself you are that so you cannot see it as an object because you would have to separate yourself from it so there is never ever ever any answer to the question who are you you will never know never whatever you know is wrong it's already you know it's wrong it's already you know it's wrong it's wrong it's wrong it's wrong it's wrong it's already an object created and constructed thank you Donna that which Bob always points drop the search the search is the problem the assumption that you are incomplete that you are the body mind that needs fixing that creates suffering realize that without the thinking nothing's wrong Bob's most famous quote what's wrong with right now if you don't think about it what's wrong it's only the thought that creates the story and problem Aminat says every thing is now isness and Aminat says thanks cut driving without the driver and John says well said cut love to see the teamwork in action brilliant I would also love to see the teamwork I would like you people to join just have couple of more comments Aminat says be naked to costume concept or I thought and message is the messenger says Aminat and now please please anyone Peter would you say something like a cobra that's coming maybe yeah I think Bob's done pretty good job today yes so this is John David and this is an interesting coincidence related to the three poem I spoke with Bob about this week it is a laborious task to pluck the leaves of the tree one by one the eye feeling it is the root of all thoughts if you destroy the root the leaves and branches will wither away and this is Ramona Maharshi yes that's a poem you spoke with John David over Skype John is from America and he and reminded him about the poem about the tree the beauty of the tree you remember that you want to say it it's on the it's on the yes it's on the Facebook group I hope that I shall never see a poem lovely as a tree a tree whose hungry mouth is pressed against the earth sweet flowing breast a tree that looks at God all day and lifts its leafy arms to play a tree that may in some way be called good by the Lord poems are made by fools like me but only God can make a tree beautiful and that and that comment that John came up here that plucking a leaf one by one this is what we do when we do self-help when we convert our negative beliefs into positive beliefs yes it or when we kind of try to fix the me, you know, have more functional ego.
Yeah, it kind of makes the dream more appealing. But destroy the root, Ramana Maharshi and John David quoting it, and all the leaves and branches will fall away. And as Bob mentioned in the spiel, the I, the sense of imagined separate entity residing somewhere inside, is the cause of all of the suffering. Question the I, find that it is fictional. And all the leaves and beliefs and all that stuff will just rewire itself. The beliefs may still be there, but they won't hurt. They won't be mine if there is no me. They're just part of life. Please. From a philosophical point of view, you're interested in contemporary practical philosophy, correct?
Clearly. Clearly. Clearly. Clearly. Clearly. Clearly. Clearly. One would have to conclude from a philosophical investigation that one doesn't exist. It's like, or not in the way that we think we exist. Like everything that we adorn ourselves with, the concepts we adorn ourselves with, are all relative to, you know, we only understand things according to something relative to that. Relative to that and relative to that. But under all, under... Under this huge pile of relativity, of which nothing can be absolutely said for certain, there must be something that's real, right? Something that is a self-evident truth. Otherwise there's no foundation in philosophy at all, is there?
Or anything else. There has to be something there which is the truth, is the undeniable self-evident reality. Otherwise where are we? We're just, we're in a sea of nothingness, a sea of empty imaginings, which really what, you know, if we base, clearly what, if we base the, our reality on an I, the sense of I which is shifting and changing every six seconds, you know, we think we're a thought. We think we're a bunch of thoughts about ourselves. But again, they're all, they're all based on relative understanding, are they not? Yeah. So where is the fundamental basis, the truth, the undeniable reality of myself? This is the whole of the, the question, isn't it Bob?
Yeah. Kat, you want to say something? Yeah. Thank you for having us today, Bob. I was with a fellow philosophy student in the backyard. We were doing some gardening. We took a break, had a cup of tea. And she said... Yeah. She said, oh, there's an old door leaning up against the garage. And she said, oh, what do you see there? And I said, oh, I see a door. And she goes, look again. And I said, okay, well, the door is made of wood. It's come from a tree. It's got, it's painted greeny blue. And she said, you're thinking too much. I said, okay, what do you see?
She said, I see color and form. So everything is just color and form. Being present, we were taught to concentrate on the working surface, the working surfaces all around us. And some of the greatest artists in history would use the working surface, say, some of the great painters of all time. They would concentrate on where the tip of the brush met the canvas. And when they're practicing this, they are in the present moment. And they make beautiful art because they're not thinking of what they're going to do on the weekend, which is future or past. They're in the present moment. And the working surfaces all around us say, I'm at work.
I'm a fruit-erer. Who are you? I am. Who are you? It's so easy, isn't it? I am this. I am that. Okay. So my occupa, the occupation I currently do is, and I have to sweep the floor and stop people slipping on things and suing. So to do a good job concentrating on the working surface where the bristles of the broom meet the floor, and it's a simple thing. So you're concentrating, you're in the present moment, you've swept the floor well. So you don't, you won't need to do it again because you've done a good job. And it's really, it's really, it's a great thing.
It's a great experience. I think, that's the best thing. That's the best thing. Using the computer. When your fingertips touch the keyboard. That's the working surface. Driving the car. Hands on the steering wheel. That's it? Yeah. Thanks very much for that. Thank you. That's wonderful. And, you know, don't worry about being nervous. We're all nervous. I'm totally nervous all the time. Aren't you Bob? Yes. The nerves have gone wild, you know? But you're not, you're not the nerves. You're not the, are you the nervousness? Yeah. You're not the nerves. No, I'm not the nerves. Yeah. the presence, that's the question. If you include yourself in all that beautiful view that you gave us of the world, do you include yourself in that?
And if you do, would you therefore conclude that the only undeniable thing you can take out of it is the presence of the canvas or the presence of the screen on which everything is viewed? Would you go as far as saying that you are the presence itself? Or would you see yourself as something other than that? And if so, what would that be? That's the answer right now. Anyone got an answer to that question? The answer to me is so damned obvious. Is it not that you can only be that presence? Because in direct knowing, that's all that we can say that is ever going on, is the knowing in this present moment.
It's always been with me. It's the only thing that I can find in my survey of reality, so-called reality, that is always there, always true, never changing. So the practical philosophy is a mixture of Eastern and Western philosophies. And it's the absolute and the truth. Who am I? Yeah, you. I'm talking to you. I'm looking directly at you. I'm asking you, who are you? Who am I? We are all one, aren't we? We're all the same. We're all beings. It doesn't matter your skin colour. We're all human beings. We're all the same. We're made up of the same matter. Well, identify anything in you that has never changed.
It's always been there. All these descriptions of the world are quite changeable and they're interpreted by anyone here as being whatever they want to interpret them as, right? And they're all relative descriptions. What about you and the essence of you? Can you tell me anything in terms of something that you know deep in yourself that is never changing? Well, I think probably every cell in everybody's body is not the same as what it was 10 or 20 years ago. The cells are always replacing. So you can't rely on your ideas of body, can you? No. To find yourself. It's transient. Yes. Can you identify something that isn't transient in you?
Experience? I'd say that thing that is called consciousness would be the same. Yes. A sense of presence perhaps. Yes. Knowing that you are the knower in all sets of circumstances. You are the presence awareness, the one who knows, the action of knowing. The watcher. The action of knowing. The watcher, yes. That's right. Does anyone else have anything to add? No. You should. You should, absolutely. Thank you. Thank you very much, by the way. It's lovely to be back here to see everyone again. Thank you. And every time I come, I get something new out of it. And I like, I think I want to say that what resonated with me today was, when Bob was talking about there not being a someone that's here, that being, their appearance of there being a me here is just another pattern of energy appearing in that way.
It doesn't, it's only appearing that way. And it, but, that doesn't mean that I, I am that. I'm, it's just, that that's just what happens to be in, in appearing in my, in this space, whatever. And so, that's just, hearing that again is sort of like, opens you up again to sort of, back to that space that you never left. So, thank you. You gonna say something? Good on you, George. Ah, no. Yeah, sure. All right. Yeah, go ahead. Yeah, no, it's just, in that space, like, yeah, and embedded in every thought is like, an I, me, or my, not in every thought, but in a lot of thoughts, is an I, me, or my, which sort of gives you the idea that there is a little controller somewhere, often behind here, but really, it's a load of shit.
It's absolute fabrication. And if it's seen, it's like fantastic. And, and also, ah, I've got something else. I can't remember now. But thanks, George. Castillo, did you want to add something? No. Or will you be here again? Oh, wonderful to have you. Look, I just wanted to touch on something else. It's just simply that, you know, even from a scientific point of, perspective nowadays, you know, it's quite clear that what we're looking on as the body or the world, is not what it seems to be. It just isn't. It's like, you know, the mind is only capable, or what its purpose is really, is to focus down the amount of information that's available out there.
There's an enormous amount of information that is excluded by the mind. So much so that we're actually looking at something which doesn't represent reality at all. In fact, we don't even know what reality is in that sense. It's kind of like the, you know, the matrix, where they have the data stream coming down. The mind is an interpreter, and completely and utterly imaginer. It's just, all its job is to imagine a scenario which is acceptable, somehow acceptable to itself, in order that humans can somehow survive in this reality. In reality, the information is far more complex, and it's not just about the information itself. It's far more complex, and far more, way beyond what the human mind is capable of actually taking in at any one time.
So, from that perspective, from that scientific perspective, what is real out there? Really, you know? It's much more personal than that, I think, in the end. I remember when I was a teenager, and I watched this Alan Watts thing, and he had a big gong, and he said, Reality is this, and bang! It's just gonged, and it's And it actually had a huge impact. It's like, it really did, because it's like, it's not a word, it's not a concept, it's not an idea. Even, it's not even a sound, it's like, it's just, it's beyond all of that. And so I ended up buying a gong.
There's no words that fit it anyway. Even relative implies there's something that's going to be relative to something, the other. That's me and the other duality. No me, no other, it just is. Unmodified, uncorrected. No preference, no partiality, no comparison. Leave it as it is. And it changes by itself, it's transient. This body's changing right now, even as we sit here. These words coming out of the mouth, all myself, happening by the self. And there's only one self. People talk about self, there's only one Atman, there's only one self, and we've got personal selves. Get into trouble. And then what the judge, what you were saying, that was beautiful, that even if there is an appearance of a me, even if it feels like there is a me, that's just another cloud on the sky of emptiness.
That's like, Bob has this beautiful analogy about the blue sea and the blue sky. You know there is no such thing as sky, it's just space all the way. There's no blue canopy or anything like that, or black canopy with the white dots. There is no such thing. It's just space all the way there. It still appears to be blue. Or the ocean, it still appears to be blue. So you know there is no imagined self there. But it still appears like there is someone speaking there. Well, someone is speaking. No, it's just speaking. There isn't. It's just like speaking is happening. There isn't anyone on this end and anyone on this end.
It's just the space of speaking, just like a space of seeing. It's not the seer there behind the eyes doing the seeing and the seeing appears in it. No. Take the seeing away and the seer and seeing gone. They're inseparable. They're one. So there is no one, even though it feels like, oh yeah, it feels like there is a me. No. Definitely there is a presence. There is an existence that can't be denied. But it feels like it is limited to the body. It doesn't feel like it is here because the body is sentient, because it has all the nervous system in it. So it feels localized.
And yes, it does. The cat feels localized too. Otherwise it would hit the door as it walks out. And the sense of location is just part of the landscape, of the appearance. The world appears outside, inside. That is just all appearance. The noises appear outside and the noises appear inside. All the appearance. And the sense of separation, that this is me and this is not me, is conceptual. You stop thinking and that doesn't occur to you. You stop thinking and you can't even say you have your feet. Unless you look at them, then you can't resist the concept. But without the concept, you don't have the body, the mind, the face, the feet, nothing.
It's just as it is, as Bob said, unaltered, unmodified, uncorrected, just isness. Just whatever flows through. And Peter, you beautifully alluded to that empty, unchanging reality through which all the concepts come. The small body of a child comes through it, the adult body, the aging body, whatever the body, as you were saying, the body is changing, can't rely on the body. But there is something that is never changing, witnessing the change of the body and of the world. And that empty screen of, you said, consciousness, very good word, yeah, consciousness or presence or being or loving or satchitananda or intelligence energy, whatever that I am-ness, that intimate sense of existence.
Through this, all the changing landscapes, thoughts, feelings, emotions, objects, here, there, just float through. And if it still feels like, oh, well, there is an ego, there is an identity, it feels like it, well, or it looks like it, it's just like the sky looking blue, just like a Santa Claus. You still see the guy in the red hat and the white beard, but you know the truth about it. And knowing the truth brings the sense of relaxation and sense of dropping away from that conceptual fixed ideas into the heart of being. And from that relaxed spot, that space of being, that is where the love of being comes.
That is suddenly then everything, suddenly the attention is not distracted into self-obsession. Poor me, they are bullying me, they will reject me, this I don't have and this I desire and I want, this I don't. All that blah, blah, going about self-obsessing about the imagined self, the conceptual image, that quietens down. And out in that space of heart suddenly comes the sense of, oh, like, whew, everything appears. Wow. It could have been nothing. And you have all those shapes and forms, you said colors and shapes, yes, and patterns and thoughts and melodies, sounds, all of it. Like, wow, what an abundance of expressions. That intelligence vibrating into all that magnificence.
The colors, the shapes, the sounds, the touch, the taste, all of it. It's just the sense of, oh, if you don't interpret it or start comparing it with the past, oh, that's not good enough, or start isolating yourself and comparing yourself with others, oh, I don't have this, I'm missing that. Well, out of that space of blah, blah, blah, there is a love to be, loving to be. And if you don't have the concept that you are a particular thing, then everything that is reflected out there is equally you. It is equally nothing and you are nothing, there's nothing everywhere, and that all nothing dances in front of you.
Like Bob was giving an example of the mirror. You look at the reflections, they look real, they seem real. Try and grab one. They're just reflections. The whole world, the whole dream world is a reflection. Try and grab it. You want to go, Peter? That's beautiful, Kat. Thank you, really wonderful. Yeah, we had a wonderful example of that recently. Dean and I had a visitation from Dean's nephew who is a 12 year old. He's about six foot, he's going to be about six foot five. He already has huge, whopping great feet, you know what I mean? So it's coming. He's the most wonderful young boy though who was just in, just looking at him, you could see the life force in him, just expressing itself.
Really beautiful, you know. But he's a little bit more, he's a little bit more of a, but he was always, he was this amazing kind of machine. He was talking all the time, all the time, all these things were just coming up in his mind. He would just tell you, tell you, tell you, tell you. And he was talking about everything that the world had conditioned him to be to this point. It was amazing. Oh, the price of a Toyota Prado, you know, they're very expensive. And I'm on TV. I'm on TikTok now. And it's just a constant stream of this worldly descriptions and conditioning.
We all have to be familiar. These things are important, right? And he's talking about his mates at school and saying, oh, that boy's a very poor communicator. You know, he's got this judgment from somewhere and he feeds it into the stream of consciousness. It's really, but even though he was doing this and just being what a 12 year old boy would be doing nowadays, that's just the way it is. Even though he was doing all this stuff, which to Dean and I was completely nonsensical. It was, it was within the context of this beautiful expression of divine energy. You know, isn't that just so perfectly obvious?
Hmm. I look, I'll just, I'll take a risk here. Oh yeah, you can do that. We went up to a mountain top of Donner Bwang, Mount Donner Bwang by car. And if you don't, if you can just bear with me, I'll read a little poem that I wrote about that trip. Only because this, this is really the most accurate way that I could describe what was going on. If I take everything into account. For me, so. As we, the three of us descended the mountain top, I slipped through a crevice and found life in the vast space between words. As young Christian bubbled and babbled about TikTok and the important cost of a Toyota Prado, his palpable living essence just rippled in the morning light so delightfully.
It mattered so very little that he was missing the deep and timeless, I can't use this machine. I need Christian, where are you? So, his palpable living essence just rippled in the morning light so delightfully. It mattered so very little that he was missing the deep and timeless Hare Krishna chants as they softened my heart and opened to a conversation with everything. Dean looked across and smiled and he knew. A visitor from an old experience filled the car with light in a revisitation of the divine perfection of all things. All meetings, all words, all poets and songs, freely radiating love in the arms of unending presence.
We amble home in incorrigible bliss and Dean blessing all the hot and bothered lines of tourists with the most fluid movement of his outstretched arms that I have ever seen. Christian babbling still with the love of God, effortlessly, coursing through his veins. This would be the moment to die if time and space held any sway as we now picnic in the fragrant grass of eternity. That is beautiful. Wonderful. Just tell them, say, happy years. Yes. Yes, you've got to keep writing. The funny thing is that that really is the closest I can get to telling you what happened there. Yeah. Because it is. It is a beauty and you use the beautiful expressions to express the beauty.
Thank you for bearing it with us. Beautiful. I actually didn't write that. It came up. It just flowed through you. Of course. And we have a couple of comments and we are over time now. You've got to go around this. Sorry, guys. Go. Yeah. So we have a couple of thank you messages. And when Bob was talking about his aging and memory, Ram says, what he is crapping on about. His memory is brilliant. That's what I was thinking. Sometimes. That's what Kasturi was thinking too. Yeah. He recited that quote. The tree one. Yeah. In all these years of . And we have another couple of comments and then we, over time, and we're going to go for lunch.
So this is Amarnath. There is no I thought in I thought. He's quoting Robert Adams. And thanks, Bob. No relatives, no relative truth. Also, Amarnath. And thank you all. Love you all. And Tanya says, the content of internet sure does change the way kids express those days. Laughing out loud. Notice with her nine-year-old child, daughter. Good to see all the beautiful expressions of the one essence. This meeting is still the highlight of every Sunday. Although this is brand new and fresh. This is no time. Time is but a beautiful concept. So true. And JB says, what a wonderful spiel and such a great meeting. I love you, Bob, Kat, and everyone.
I look forward to every one of these meetings and I am thankful for them being live on Facebook. Thank you, JB. And Maureen says, this meeting is the theme song for the love of one without a second. Love you. And Hanza. Thank you, everyone. And blessed Easter. Yes, we have some more. We have more. We have more. We have more. We have more. We have more. We have more. We have more. We have more. We have more. We have more. We have more. We have more. We have more. We have more. Thank you, everyone, and blessed Easter. Yes, we have some big Easter eggs there to share, and then we are done.
And thank you, everyone, and happy Easter! It's a very funny thing. Happy Easter.
