Hi everyone, another nice day. By the look of it, by the appearance, and we're still pointing to non-duality. Can't teach you anything, can't tell you anything. All I can do is point toward and ask you to look where we're pointing to, to see for yourself. That's if the inclination is within you or the movement within you, that there needs to be a little bit more to look into than what is currently going along in our lives. We're poor, miserable human beings, having a rough trot, suffering, doing all the rest of it. It's the way it happens, just the same as everything else in this manifestation.
It happens or appears to be so. All a phenomenal manifestation. And the definition of phenomena is that which appears or seems to be. Can't negate the being, but how it appears and how it seems to be in the vast myriads of different patterns, shapes, and forms in which everything is all inclusive. Because that's all it is. It's all things. What seems something that seems to be. Mightn't realize it, but you are a thing. I am a thing. The tree is a thing. The flower is a thing. The space, the sky, all things which we've described, and we're just trying to blanket everything else. Like is the notion of a person, something that serves as the essence as it exists, or the essence.
The non-self elihe shivaje looks like he's something or something totally different. It's what someone is. Just some ordinary way of being about it. A body. An enclosure. It becomes real. is loving to be and the nama rupa, the name and form is Maya. The things are Maya. Illusion, a phenomenal manifestation and the definition of phenomenon is that which appears to be, seemingly so. So we've got lost along the way somewhere by taking on all these beliefs and if we hadn't learnt the word, what could you believe? You'd be just continually seeing things as they are without necessarily putting a description or a name and form or a Maya or Maya.
The description is never described and what we're trying to describe here is not its description and never will be its description. But it points towards and if you follow up the point and look and test it out for yourself, you'll see that it's not the truth. Like years ago, we went down to the ocean and there was a blue sea. The blue sea is a blue ocean. And we believed, we've investigated it since then and we know the water's not blue and blue sky, you know the sky's not blue. The shadow that you cast on the ground is not you. Santa Claus is not real.
In an investigation, when they say the false cannot stand up to investigation and test that out and see what they're saying is true, you'll find it is. And they say know the truth. And the truth will set you free. And then look into the statute and enter again. In other words, label it, names for it as being, knowing and loving to be. Well, I can't negate my beingness right now and there is a knowingness there. But the knowingness has been lost and taking on a lot of the beliefs and believing and so forth. And I think if the people who are going to get this stuff, instead of knowing, recognizing them and seeing the truth of them, the map is not the territory.
The description's not described. The word is not the real. There are things that I've looked into and found when I heard them and really investigated them, that they will stand up to that investigation. A lot of the other beliefs don't stand up to it. Belief is a thing. Belief is a thing. not the actual. So the Buddha called it a cognising emptiness and we think we are that cognising emptiness because we're cognising there's a knowingness there. We think we know the cognising, not realising it's the emptiness itself is the cognising. That's doing the knowing, the being, but we're related to this believed in entity and think I know, I am the cognising.
It's the emptiness itself that has that capacity of knowing. So we made the statement that emptiness is form. It's that cognising emptiness that's patterning, shaping and forming all these pattern shapes and forms. And the forms are that cognising or vibrating emptiness. Emptiness is form and the forms are nothing other than that emptiness. Not all the other concepts or ideas or images we put on them and take them to be that. Basically only the emptiness. The no thing. And we hear that word no thing and say, everything is no thing. But we say nothing. Put a different take on it all together. No thing means it hasn't got any real pattern, shape or form.
And when we say nothing, we think it's a vacuum, a void, zero, zilch. But it's emptiness and no thingness. Doesn't mean to say zero, zilch. It's suffused with an intelligence energy. Otherwise how could it maintain its shape, its form, its pattern? How could we have any labels or names to put on it if we didn't pick up these words and give them a conceptual meaning, a meaning and take them to be real? All the great traditions, patterns, shapes and forms that have understood or known or recognised the true nature, those that recognise will tell you the same thing. It's all the one essence. It's patterning, shaping, forming and appearing as everything.
And they say the great mantra is I am that. Thou art that. You are that. And innately we know that also. Innately, already it's known because there's no other way. That's the chair you're sitting on. That's the room you're in. That's the space that's in the room. That's the trees. That's the flowers. Everything, everything, every pattern, shape and form is that. Meaning not a pattern, shape and form, but it's meaning it is the one intelligence energy. Which is a term I use rather than calling it God, which is a term I use. A majority of people will put on there, not realising that God's just a word or a label like they tell you.
In the Bible in the beginning was the Word. The Word was with God. The Word was. All things were made by Him, by the Word. And without the Word, there was nothing made that was made. There's none of this pattern, shapes and forms that appear – if they are made by God. And it was made. There's nothing made that was made. There's none of this pattern, shapes and forms that appear if that's not God's revelation. It's not God's revelation. It's not God's revelation. not labelled, they remain in their basic essence which is no thing. And that's a word too, we put on it. Everything is seemingly labelled to discriminate it, seemingly separate it.
And what are we doing? We're trying to separate the inseparable. And so the words and meanings get lost, taken on board and utilised, the belief in them utilised, and it causes ourselves a lot of misery, a lot of unhappiness. Misery, unhappiness, they're words. Guilt, jealousy, envy, all what we call psychological suffering. All words. And Shakespeare pointed that out too. Nothing either good or bad, but thinking much. Thinking makes it so. It means we put these labels or concepts on the words, good, bad, and they come up in thought, what we call thought, thinking. Thinking makes it so. So now it is what we believe to be good or bad, pleasant or painful, happy or sad.
We're dividing, discriminating everything with the word. And relating it to the other word, I or me. We take on the word I or me, this pattern, shape and form that I believe myself to be, taken on as my body, my mind, my thoughts, my feelings, my emotions. All believed to be hanging through the eyes of the mind. And now can we relate to this, I or me. Now the problem with that is, this I or me, we're not relating to the actuality, the pure presence, awareness, or knowing or being. We're relating to this conceptual image that I've taken on. Me, Bob, the Australian, the good fellow, or the unhappy fellow.
Now that's become what I believe to be the person. I believe to be person coming from an ancient language, persona, the mask. So that word or label I put it myself, out of this so-called self, this body-mind entity, has now become the persona, the mask, conceptual image. But I haven't see it as that, I see it as the shape and form it is, and take it to have some reality. And it becomes my body, the pattern shape of it all, my mind. I can belong to this me or my, has become what I take myself to be, a person as me or I, conceptual image.
Take it, be real and relate, and be real and relate. . Brought everything to that image. I like it, I don't like it, that be me or I likes it, who doesn't like. It wants it, it doesn't want it, is fearful of it, it is anxious about it, it is depressed about it, all relating now to the persona, to the mask, to the conceptual image. That's what I take myself to be, not aircraft. . Not realising I'm a little bit more than a conceptual image. I'm a little bit more than a mask. What am I really? What they call presence awareness, the absolute presence. Presence is being here, what you call here, in this moment.
Am I unaware? Am I asleep or unconscious or out of it? No. Well if I'm not any of those things I must be aware, presently. And what's that tell me? That presence awareness is not the person. Not related to the person, the body, mind. It is the very life itself. The animation, the sentience, whatever labels you like to put on it. The being, the knowing, the loving to me. It is a sat shittin' end. Ever fresh. Spontaneously so. Not time end. So that is what I am. And there again, well there it is. If that is what I am, I am that. So what they're pointing out is the truth.
Already and ever. Doesn't have to become that. Doesn't have to become enlightened or happy or anything. Already so. Already what is. Is. Is not what we are. Is not what was. So that means what I thought I was a minute ago or last week or last year is not so. It's changed. It's gone. And last week, last year, five minutes ago is a concept. Also a concept of time. Past. And future. And again it's pointed out it's timeless. There's no such thing as time. Time is another mental concept. Another conceptual thought or image. Or idea. And needs to be investigated also. Is there a past if I don't think about it.
Pause the thought. Stop thinking for a moment. See what you can say about the past. the past or is there a future if I don't think about it. You realise that past and future are just concepts. There might be a recollection of them, but they're not the actual anymore. And they weren't the actual even then, just the same as this is not the actual right now. It's only spontaneous, they're lasting. Can't even put a time on it, a moment, not even a moment. So it's transient, constantly, spontaneously changing. Ever fresh, ever new. How can age come into it? Now in the transient, in this pattern, it seems to be getting pretty old now, breaking down, very feeble, thought has gone now and now it's gone.
And the fresh and new thought comes up, might be different. Even the pain, though it's seemingly constant, is changing also. And you know, you'll notice that also because it can get more hurtful or ease a bit or something, but like everything else, it's all changing. So that's all there is, is life, which is transient, constantly changing. Constantly ever fresh and ever new. And look at the wondrous and amazing ways that pattern shapes and forms and expresses, constantly. If that's how it is, there must be a way that can be realised, recognised or known in its transience, in its changing. Instead of the erroneous belief that we are, the belief we've taken on, that it's a static thing that's constantly experiencing and expressing all these different pattern shapes and forms, always dividing in the opposites.
There's fear, there's anger, there's depression, there's guilt, there's shame, remorse, unhappiness. All labels we put on the different sensations. How do those sensations come about? Basically, there's a vibration, which we call thought. A movement of energy. And that's the vibration. These things appear in it, seemingly so, and they're a label. It's feelings, sensation, words, concepts, ideas, images. Sensations, feelings become the feelings. And then the feelings go in, and then the feelings go out. And then the feelings go in, to this pattern we call the body. Through the thoughts and the minds, and become an emotion. Stir up the feeling. Those sensations stir up, and they move the pattern, the nerves, the sinews, the brain, and go through the brain, and stir up the bodily sensations through something that was subtly going through the head, the brain, the thought.
now has become in the body and causes anger, fear, depression, guilt and all the rest of it. And that's where all the unhappiness is, and the feelings, the sensations and the emotions that are going on. If it doesn't get to that stage, what is it? Just pure being. Pure being without any emotional stirring up and it's a kiki. And there's a lot of clarity there. There's no obscuration going on with the thoughts and feelings and emotions. That clarity, you can't put the label that's bad or unhappy. There's a sense of being well, being complete, being total. A sense of well-being, being well, where there's no thing wrong, no thing good, no thing bad.
Everything is good. Everything is as it is. Unaltered, unmodified, uncorrect. Go out there and look at nature. There might be wind stirring it, trees, branches and things moving. At the base of it all, at the back of it all, isn't there the space? The space is still empty or appearing to be empty. You can't say there's anything wrong with it. And there is, as Shakespeare says, there's nothing either right or wrong or good or bad, but thinking makes it so. Until we put the concepts, the labels and the sensations or the feelings into it. And we've got this turmoil, this depressive world. What's wrong with the world?
The things that are going on in it make it a pretty awful place. It's really unhappy. But of itself, it's just spontaneously functioning naturally and effortlessly. Out of space, pattern shapes and forms appear, play around and disappear. Why? Because of that cognising emptiness. That emptiness with the capacity of cognising forms things. As Shakespeare told you. Emptiness is form. It's vibrating and forming things. And the forms are nothing but the emptiness. So it's still only the emptiness. Never, ever change. And you and I and everything else is that. To get out of all the psychological suffering, recognise that. Be that. Let it function. Let it live you.
Take you where you've got to go. And it can bring about a lot of satisfaction. A sense of well-being. A sense that there's nothing wrong. And it'll go into its opposites. Just the same as it did before. But because the interest is not invested in the things to the extent it was before, the peace will last longer. The peace is when the mind is not retaliated. That's why they call it the peace that passes on. That's why understanding. It's not a mind thing. It's the natural spontaneity. Spaces like silence, stillness, awareness, or being, in which things appear and disappear. But they don't contaminate or corrupt the space.
The absolute or perfect, perfect essence. They're not corrupted. They don't exist. What corrupts our space? Intelligence. Thought, feeling and emotion. And we try and think ourselves into a state of happiness and joy. But the thought can't do it. The peace and joy is when the mind is not, when it's not coming through the mind. When it's just that natural, spontaneous seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, smelling, breathing. Natural functioning going on without discriminating it with the word. Without putting the labels on it, there's this, that or the other. Then it's just as it is. Unaltered, unmodified, uncorrected. So, I don't know how that's going with it, but if you've got any questions or arguments about it, you can ask me.
You can tell us about it. Get into it. Questions? Get into it. Hi everyone. So, there was a lot of nice and funny and sweet morning messages, good morning messages. And now we have a question from Tanya. Bob and Kat, when the illusion of me drops, is there no more me thoughts or less thoughts? There seems to be some recognition that there is no me. I am not a me. But irritable thoughts and judging thoughts still appear. I don't create them. They just appear. Maybe the illusion hasn't been seen through completely. Well, if the manifestation is a vibration of energy, it must vibrate in the pairs of opposites.
So, there will be a me. There will be a me thought or an I thought or a thought. Every thought will still be there. You don't forget the words or the thoughts. But Santa Claus still comes about. But you don't believe in him. Because you don't believe doesn't mean to say you're not going to come up anymore. So, thoughts will appear. But you know the truth. It's the truth about them. You can no longer believe them. Thinking still goes on. Yeah, the nice thing that... Come on. That's good. The nice thing what you say here, Tanya, is the last sentence again. Maybe the illusion hasn't been seen through completely.
That's a doubting thought. Yeah. So, if you recognize the doubting thought, I'm telling you it's just another thought. Doubting thought is just another thought. Just like doubting thought, irritable thoughts, happy thoughts, angry thoughts. They're just thoughts. And as Bob is saying, it still appears dualistically. In the nature, you have the day and the night and the winter and the summer. In the mind, you have the nice thoughts, the ugly thoughts, the pleasant thoughts, the unpleasant thoughts. The judgmental, non-judgmental. They're just the weather. They're just passing weather. If you don't expect... Expect from the nature to never exhibit a night or the winter or the storm.
And you may not expect from your own mind to never get a thought of dark or winter or day and night or irritability or anger or judgment. That's the brain, how it has been constructed. There are habit patterns in which the synapses are firing and habitual way of seeing things, of thinking. But there is not you doing. There is no you doing it. Just as you say. The thoughts appear, but they are not yours. They're just like the bacteria or the blood cells. They come and go. The sweat on the skin or the digestive enzymes or the... All of it appears. None of it is yours.
You see the questioning thoughts, the doubting thoughts in the same way as you see every thought. And also the other one. You know. If you think or believe that you should never ever get irritable again, then just look out in nature. And see if you can see the angry birds, for example. Because I see them all the time, you know. Playing, competing. Or the dog. You step on their tail and see how much they will put up with it. The irritation, this behavior is... Even storms and things like that. Nature is raging. Yeah. So there's nothing wrong in any of the behaviors. If you see the irritability, it's really another voice of love that wants you to be at peace.
That kind of is well-wishing, sort of a part of a narrative which has a preference for the peace and the health and security and safety. That's just a natural preference that comes from the survival instinct. It's not going to stop showing up. Julia, I was on last week's Samsung accidentally. No time. Nobody is here now. Hello, everyone. And Tanya replying to Julia. I saw that come up in the notifications. Good morning, Julia. Good to see you if you are here. And Cliff. Yeah, that's just another good morning message. Good morning, Cliff. And Julia, as Kat says, here too, I have been looking at the thought that says it is not okay to feel this way.
It appears very subtly. When we allow it to come up, then it passes by quickly. Beautiful. Like Bob was saying, it's a thought judging a thought. Like who says that one vibration is good and another vibration is bad? Even if it may feel contracting or uncomfortable. Who says that contracting or uncomfortable is good or bad? That's a good point, Julia. Thank you. And we have, ah, that's a message from Richard. But that's regarding the last week. Yeah, when we allow it to come up, then it passes up quickly. Yes, recognized and uninvested. It comes and it goes. It does whatever it needs to do. Just like, you know, the dog may be moved to bark and it doesn't carry it along.
And it doesn't question, oh, I shouldn't be barking. It's the questioning thoughts that are very often, because they smartly linked to the survival of security or the desire for clarity. And they question it. So they need to be recognized. Because who would you be without that thought? What's wrong with right now if you don't think that thought? Irritability may be there. You don't call it irritability then anymore. You just, this is vibrating life. But there is no one who says that shouldn't be there. Just like Bob was saying, you know, the thunderstorm or the storm on the ocean. Nobody says that it shouldn't be there.
Recognize the passage? The drought, the flood, all the things that happen in natural. And Jasmine says good morning also. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Jasmine says good morning, nice and sweet messages. They will probably be unavailable. Oh, and a sweet comment about the cat, which is a Zen master and a yoga master. And John David says thank you for yesterday, for the chat he had with you. I'm always happy to spend time talking with you. And Brett, hi, Brett and Arthur and Daniel and Dale and Annette and Richard. Good today and good on the morrow. moral what it says thank you thank you for being with us so if there is anything that comes up and cliff says love to you and all presents yeah just one present many different points in consciousness but it's the same present sign presence and Tanya says Thank You Bob and Kat I didn't notice the thought at the end of my question was a doubting thought thanks for pointing that out so all will still appear as it always has there is no specific way for life to be it is free to show up as so-called irritable thoughts or loving thoughts those thoughts don't mean there's no specific way for life to be it is free to show up as so-called irritable thoughts or loving thoughts but there is still a belief in a me thanks for clarifying that less or no thoughts is just another expectation still and the thought is a label you put the name and it's labels so the Shakespeare says couldn't be good or bad but thinking thinking we label you so yeah as I say again in nature when the storm blows us There's nobody out there saying I'm a storm, I'm the flood, I'm the raging sea or the angry thunder.
It just is. And of course there are ways to actually, there are different techniques if you're drawn to neuro-linguistic programming or something like that which will rewrite the thinking patterns or some sort of interventions. By all means if life takes you there, it takes you there. It's nothing wrong in praying for goodness of the universe but this is not non-duality. This is the side tracking of self-improvement, of self-growth, on fixing the self. And when you realize there is no self, it doesn't mean that you will not be attracted to learning a skill of translating everything to love. Or learning a skill of whatever, speaking another language.
But yes, non-duality is just a basic recognition that what is as it is without the label good or bad is just as it is. It's nothing wrong anymore. It's nothing wrong in any kind of thoughts or habitual behaviors. And again, updating habits may be where life will take you and it often happens because nothing ever stays the same. And we have... Okay. We have Annette. Bob and Kat, could you please speak on the way of the appearance, the sky, the stars, the humans, the feelings, all the apparent manifestation? Who is asking? This apparent person, Annette Julia. Yes. So can you speak on the whole manifestation including the whole appearance, the sky, the stars, the humans, the feelings?
All the apparent manifestation. Who's asking? Apparent person is asking. Who's asking? Annette is asking you to speak about the whole manifested world, the phenomenal manifestation. What about it? Yeah. Just please speak on the why, on the why. I see. Okay. Why? Why is the manifestation? Why not? That's my favorite answer. Why not? Why? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Yeah. You're right. Why not? Why not? Why not? Yeah. That's my favorite answer.
Yeah. Yeah. It is because it can, because it is. Yeah. That's right. It's how it is. What is means it's unaltered, unmodified, uncorrected. Yeah. Yes. That's my favorite answer. It is why because, because it is. You can't, yeah. You can't say it is, but you can't say it's not. That's right. Yeah. appears to me. Yes. But who would want to know why? Yes she says she answered that this apparent person wants to know. Well the apparent purpose is in an apparent universe. That's right part of the manifested world. Yeah and they are still quite sweet, nice, mind-calming, mind putting at rest stories of why. One of those stories is because it is the omnipotence.
The why is God creating because he is a God creator. Why is the painter painting because he is a painting painter. It is the manifestation, the expression happens because it can. But also because this is the only way to actually find the answer to the question why. Why is God creating? He keeps telling me the story. Why is he creating? Why is God creating? Why is he creating? Why is God for this absolute, and that's the story. But that story sometimes puts the mind at rest. Because this is the only way through that expression, through that multiplication of form, that emptiness can grasp the glimpse of its own self.
Otherwise it can't know itself because it is itself. So it reflects itself in the mirror of that 3D dream or 4D dream, whatever the dream is, and it glimpses its own magnificence. It looks at the starry night and, wow, this is what I am. This is not what I am, it's just a reflection of what I am, because this is all one. But this is not a fragment either, because it's holographic, so every fragment is a representation of the whole. But this is a story, this is quite a romantic story. If you really want to know yourself, you go and you look in the mirror and you see the reflection of the body only, because you don't see the reflection of the presence.
But that's how this... The absolute, the pure potential is reflecting itself as the multitude of forms, feelings, solid, subtle thoughts, emotions, judgments, and it grasps a glimpse of its absoluteness and infiniteness. Yeah, just... It's a story that may actually, mind may say, oh yeah, all right, I get it, I don't ask this question anymore. And at this point it is enough, because later on when the mind will not be trusted and it will not be disturbing, that question won't arise and that answer won't be necessary, because just relaxing into the mystery is much, much more rewarding than having the answers, because the mystery is what you are, it is who you are.
But I still like that answer, that question. And Dale, my question was the same as Tanya, so has been answered. Magnificent. And glad it was helpful for no one, Tanya says. And Brett, there's thoughts blooming. You don't live life. Life leaves you. Life wears you. Intelligent energy wears you like the one sea in the winter. Wonderland, buttoned to the neck. Hands and feet enclosed. Mind content pure, limitless. Beautiful. Yeah, thank you. I thought we will hear it again. I mean you, because it is always fresh in you. Relaxing into the mystery. How beautiful, Julia says. Yeah, relaxing is kind of, it's so natural. So. When there is no demand for the attention, if you look out in nature, demand for attention, for example, for the body, the lion lies in the sun, just relax.
When the body calls for attention, when it's hungry or when it's wounded or whatever, that relaxation is obviously compromised for the survival of the form, because without the form, there wouldn't be that glimpse of knowing one's own magnificence. But yeah, relax whenever you can. Don't don't close your eyes and relax while you're driving. Whenever you can. Annette, thank you for the why not. And thank you for the story, too. And thank you for the pointers to relax into the mystery. Yeah, why not is such a good twist on the question. And I heard the answers. Why not? Oh, of course. I remember it was my own question.
And why would the omnipresent God loving create the suffering? Why would it be so torturous to put us into the tight costume of a self-pity and self-hatred? Yeah, we all it all takes place in the belief in time, doesn't it? Yes. And I say, when did it all begin? Why or how? That's before. That's. And that's and that's past. Before is always the past. There's no past, no time. And you can't give it a beginning or a time or a why or what for or how. It just is as it is right now. This spontaneous moment is the actuality and it's already gone. And as I just said, gone is gone.
It's all spontaneous. It's spontaneous. Amanath, doubter, questioner is thought, notion. So also world. Yeah. One of the manifested, one of the ways it appears. So no thought is body in a way. They all the little darling beloved babies of that absolute force. It loves equally the erupting volcano and the peaceful lake. It loves all of them love to be. They all expression of love. Love to be. They are beings. And Amanath accepting present movement as present gift and form of beloved without gift taker. Spontaneous intelligence energy. Spontaneous intelligence energy. The activity of knowing. Yes. Julia, the mind likes to know when it is realized that it is just.
It's just. It's just. It is just energy thought one after the other appearing. Then it is all embraced. Yes. Can, can the wine, can the mind know? No. Yes. Show me your mind for a start off. It's just a collection of ideas, but somehow, you know, the, the persistent question when answered, it puts it at rest. Yeah. And, uh, another Julia. I have discovered that while driving, there's a great opportunity to relax into being. Eyes no longer need to be shut to be with what is without, oopsie, uh, attending to internal chatter. That little fold of skin over my eyes never seem to shut out the world anyway.
It doesn't. Good point. Yeah. But she's got self-driving car. She would even get away with it. Yeah. She would even get away with that. But yeah, that's a beautiful point. You can relax with your eyes open, but that's this sort of a relaxation that the cuts, uh, exhibits, you know, the ears are open and the eyes open every hair on the skin can sense the movement of the air. So they completely present with all the senses wide open and fixated awareness and relax. And, uh, tango. Yeah. Uh, Tanya, I'm setting the Julia. Beautiful. And so true. Another question was forming, and this was read and not sure I will ask the question now.
Uh, it, it, as it is another empty thought embraced. Tanya, maybe you should answer it for everyone who is not seeing through it right now. You are seeing through it, but you can be a channel for that question to come through you. who are watching us on YouTube and they can't ask that question now so if the question is still there just for the you know altruistic reasons that it may help somebody else because you are actually doing pretty well answering your own questions but they do help us I don't know why she asks questions that's why because some people who can't actually type them are using the questions asked by Tanya because yeah that's a great help for those who can't ask them or who there are people who have questions but they can't even put them in words because that also takes some sort of skills that not everyone has equally talents or skills and Brett Bobcat I've been reading lately about see your seeing seen can you speak to that if it resonates seeing seeing saying no well well , the thought comes up I see when you say I see who's seeing you say I see you believe it's the me or the I that's seeing so you've formed a subject and I see the chair or the table or whatever it is I see that has become the object because the thought I see the believed in seer now sees the chair so that's subject object which is the object which is dualism but can the thought I see actually see so seeing is happening it's translated as the thought I see but the thought I see cannot see so the I see the so-called subject is not a subject at all it's just a thought but the seeing is happening that's the I see said the blind man when he couldn't see at all that means the seeing was happening but not seeing the way we see through the eyes but the seeing was happening the knowing seeing knowing there is a thought I see can't see the thought I hear can't hear the thought I think can't think the thought I am aware is not your awareness all these labels we attribute to the I or the me or the person and it's it's the person's not doing anything at all it's just coming up what's your next thought gonna be you don't know thinking is happening now that thinking is just a vibrating or patently happening in the body isn't it because the for the thought I think is there the thinking is happening and the seeing is happening and the hearing the functioning is happening before it's translated to the thought I like when you say in this manner that there is one stick and the stick has names on two ends like seeing is the capacity or the potentiality and you have also that little like the morning sort of an example you open your eyes in the morning and seeing is already there you don't switch it on and off it is already there but the content of the seeing is different than now unless you're watching it in the bedroom or whatever but yeah the content is changing the objects of seeing are changing and the subject is also changing if you think of the I or the body that is seeing this is the instrument and even that instrument is changing replacing the cells in the body and this is all changing slowly and behind that is the I thought that takes the ownership of that capacity of seeing but the moment you close your eyes that capacity is not realized so the I doesn't see the I thought behind the eyes doesn't see the I is also just an instrument it is not the seer it's just an instrument the way you have the camera in the computer the camera doesn't see it it is just the instrument so the seer and the seeing are just the concepts on two ends of the same stick the seeing and within that capacity of seeing or space of seeing the mind creates artificial division into subject object now this is me seeing it but really you take the it and seeing collapses if there is nothing to see there is no seeing or you take the seeing and you take the seeing and you take the seeing and you take the seeing and again the seeing collapses if I'm not there the seeing is not realized so they can't exist separately the seer without the seeing or the seer without the seeing they can't exist separately so they're one thing but it's just one capacity of seeing divided conceptually by dualistic mind which that is what it does it is its function to translate singular functioning into the dualistic world so it's the breathing and now this is the breathing it's the lungs breathing or it's me breathing the air it's a little bit more difficult when you say it is raining because what is the it that is raining or it is cold what is it that is cold it's just a function it's the same as the brain too there are people who look at my brain and do so much with the brain but the brain is just an instrument through which the energy is coming through yeah translates it into thoughts and things like that and the same happens with the being yeah the being is there and now the I thought comes and it says no this is me this is the little human there inside here or here that is being is hijacking the whole sense of presence that is actually unlocated and puts it into that kind of mix it with the bodily sensations and the sense of ownership that comes from the mind and now we have I and being but that's just the translation when we see that this is what the mind does we appreciate it yeah I'm hearing you're not hearing you know you're hearing different sounds your hearing is worse than mine so it seems like it is of course it is without the body there is no hearing it does need the instrument but the hearing is a capacity it's a potentiality and now Amarnath says to Julia when she discovered about the driving beautiful Julia best way of learning is seeing in me or nothing affects yet it is used everything traffic is coming and going yet nothing comes and goes in reality just a reflection and Tanya says so any further insights will just happen I can see now there is no there there is no making recognition of different aspects of what is all of a sudden it can just be so obvious this is the way it really is no one has ever been influencing or making anything appear to happen laughing out loud nothing is really happening beautiful yeah nothing has been influencing it at the same time absolutely everything has been influencing even the hormones the diets the weddings the habits everything has been influencing even the hormones the diets the weddings things Yes, but that's just the same of what you were saying.
No thing is ever happening. It appears to be. Yes. Seemingly so. And Amarnath, all thoughts are I thought, including world, waking, deep sleep and dream too. Yes, regarding Tanya, what you say about the recognition, I can see there is no making recognition. Yes, there is no one ever has done any. No one has done inquiry. It's just a life flowing. When there is a movement towards inquiry, that's what's happening. When there isn't, that's what isn't. When there is a movement for taking credit, that's what's happening. There's no person imagined into existence that takes credit. It's just life appearing as a cloud. Yes. It's just the same as your breathing happens.
You've got to say, I'm going to take a breath, going to take another breath, I'm going to take another breath. Yes. You know. And you didn't know anything about breathing or the breath before you learnt any words. But it was still, it's still functioning, it's still going. I have a couple of messages on a different platform from Richard. It says, I was doubtful. If this could be the answer, I would have done it. This question was appropriate for the live stream. Oh. Which one? I have a practice known as open being. This is applied out of also within formal meditation. It is almost non-meditation. Although this was accidentally discovered, I have since found that it is widely endorsed traditionally, including Bonpoo, Shamanism, Dzogchen, Mahamudra, and Kashmiri Shavism, Translator of the recognition sutras Dr.
Christopher Wallace of the Kashmiri school averse that open being is the finest of all forms of meditation However, he does not teach it often because of the high risk of practitioners becoming overwhelmed in Thought swarms This is from Richard it is very simple It just involves learning into the space leaning into the space between thoughts. The result is that More and more gorgeous free space appear on the other side of the feral monkey mind What liberation Patanjali and other luminaries proclaim that yoga is the settling of the mind into silence When the mind is settled He says we are established in our essential nature, which is unbounded consciousness Yes, it's really a true meditation and when there's no one to meditate And nothing to meditate on.
Yes, and that's a natural meditation that's going on all the time yes, and and with this attitude if life moves you to sit in silence and and That's just give credit where credit is due give credit to life because otherwise just like some of the guys The guy was saying that you know students may be overwhelmed by the Stream of thoughts or maybe overwhelmed by the idea that oh if I sit like this for 20,000 hours And I will become something in the future and there is no I to become anything and there is no future in which would become But then when life moves you just like life moves the river I love that example of Bob when Bob when you're saying that you know life is like a river Sometimes it goes slowly between the forest and the sandy banks and then it goes through the rapids and waterfalls And then it's become stagnant So if the river of life brings you to the point where you just sitting and there is no one sitting and there is no Credit taken there is not I would not even call it practice It's just relaxing to the flow of life because the moment you actually make it to a practice and you design time and you Bring up some hopes of what you will gain from that sacrifice or whatever.
That's where the Mentalities reinforced that's where the mind grab holds of that natural flow of life and translate it into a method or technique Through which the me which is non-existent will become something bigger better or will achieve something That is also non-existent. So that narrative around meditation is a danger the seating Just flowing with life into a silence Nothing good or bad about it is it may be quite beautiful. We fall into silence Naturally without having an agenda And yes, it's quite sweet. It's just like that tiger lying in the Sun. Mm-hmm like to That don't send so he told about meditation let it rest And it's un contrived singularity Just relax As his Richard was saying they just relate yeah rest without contriving it There's this way on that way or another way leave it as a singularity yeah instead of trying to do this or that or achieve silence or do you know that everything is it's the non doing the real natural state is a state where the trying is relaxed and in the non doing in the no obstruction that's the natural state and then every state is natural because there's nothing apart from nature but then now he also says that he adds the our essential nature is usually overshadowed by the activity of the mind yeah it is kind of there is some truth in it yeah when the attention goes into the mind oh that's what the focus is Were the focus has been and the tension's always going up and down but at the dear to know is the state that is not there is no focus that is happening up until now and that is going to manifest as a non at all all right so when we deal with all other political arguments you into the thought, into the thinking.
That's a habit. When we learned words. And it says, it is not my experience. Uplifting and generally wonderful thoughts, though this space beyond the feral mind truly is. Patanjali states that the pratyahara, the withdrawal of senses, is the fifth element of yoga development. Yes, and now we are really, and this is a long one, and this is really a lot about some conscious effort, which is, again, if life draws you to learn whatever foreign language, it also feels like you are doing it. But remembering the truth is the... Patanjali also says, understanding is all. And the sagarata tells you the same thing. He says, right understanding.
Yes. That's what they do. They recognize that it needs to be recognized or understood. No one to do it. Padma, my body is more on my mind since having surgery because I can't move in the same way as before. Can you speak on this from your experience? Padma, she had the surgery and there is some pain seen about it, so she has to be mindful. The body is calling for that attention. Yes. So she says the body is more on her mind since the surgery. And you had the surgery recently also. Yes. So can you speak on that? I've got to... And generally any pain, the one that you didn't have surgery, is more of a concern right now, isn't it?
Yes. But the pain makes you pay attention. Yes, well, that's what's happening. It's the body calling for attention. Do something about this. And be careful. Yes. Don't strain it. Don't hurt it. That's the difference between physical pain and psychological pain. Physical pain says do something about this. Yes. Psychological pain is all mental stuff. Poor me. Yes. Why is it happening to me? That's right. Yes. Yes, good question, Padma. This is, yes, just follow the instinct. Yes. In the absence of the mental chatter, attention is being called and it goes where it's needed. And look after yourself. Recovery is a tough time sometimes. And Tanya, relaxing into the flow of life describes well what seems to be happening here.
Just don't always have the words to put to what is seen. Undescribably beautiful. Undescribably beautiful. Undescribably beautiful. Undescribably beautiful. Undescribably beautiful. Undescribably beautiful. Undescribably beautiful. Undescribably beautiful. Peace. Still. No effort. Love and joy is always here, only seeming obscured. Well said. Yes. Amanas. Space between thoughts initially appears as small, slowly expands to infinity and detaches fully. And bread, bread on the day, moment, moment. You had this realization of intelligent energy. What was your first thought? Do you remember? Did you dismiss the thought as simply a thought? Or was it non thought? Felt sense realization? It was translated. I'll never be caught in the mind again.
But I didn't. Walked out the door and I was. We were saying, it was sort of just a clear seeing through things you know yes almost as if I don't remember my first thought I guess was oh or something like that but at the same time the there is some quality of stillness that is never obscured like suddenly instead of whole attention being taken away by the drama there is a part of that attention still available for witnessing the drama somehow and it wasn't really done or exercised or practiced or anything like that in the recognition that drama is just a superficial stuff it's just a thought it's just like Bob says it you still get caught in it but it's never the same you know that you are just you know it's just attention stolen the show stolen by the by the drama but you are free you are the space in which that happens it's never the same it's not like the as it steals the show completely it's just the entertainment it's not yeah like that weight the heaviness yeah yeah the weight has lifted the load has lifted off here yeah you're in it enlightens you start taking the weight off takes the weight off it's not that heavy anymore any drama that's happening it's not that overwhelmingly heavy and it's not that dark also it's light light in a way of the weight and the light of the way of clarity of radiance of intelligence yes intelligence is light light of the mind so now as you know the the thought let's say the abusive thought or the on the mental attack would kind of feel like someone is trying to kill you and and shoot the knife into your chest now you feel mosquito biting it still feels it's still threats it's still experienced as a threat but it's uh who is there to die it's the the sting that that bob's expression it the thought loses a sting it's not a bee anymore it's a mosquito and Julia it is interesting here now as i observe the body uh move first then the mind overlays a thought immediately after it happens yeah you can see how the narrative comes just a fracture later and has something to say about what's happening or even take credit for what have just happened Michael when the river of life turns against you and overturns your boat don't swim against the under toe turn your boat over turn your back and float yes yeah you are the river and the body may be a boat yeah why not now Tanya replying to Julia i'm noticing that a lot too amazing how thought works really it is yeah Amarnath yes it appears to be so see as the appearance of thought only is it and this is a very important key because if you don't think Bob says if you don't think yeah what's the truth thoughts are floating changing but what's the truth underneath underlying them and that's it for now so i can go back to .
So I'll go back to Richard because we don't have any other questions for now so it is akin to the tortoise withdrawing its head and limbs into a shell the limbs representing the Fibula and the skin of the tortoise which remains as a reflection of the body. Lips into a shell the limbs representing the Fibula and the skin of the tortoise. This합 Bobby is a genius and is capable of life. The body. . the five senses. The aim is samadhi, so deep that the senses naturally withdraw into that. That has not yet happened here to date. So that is going back to Patanjali and staying within the gaps between the thoughts and withdrawing senses.
Like, you know, the wise monkeys close your eyes, close your ears and just stay with the nothing. And do nothing with the nothing. And yes, that sort of samadhi happens every night when you go to sleep. Patanjali's statement also appears somewhat on odds with the verse 39 or Hinsin Ming, which forms part of the Zen Corpus, Chan Zen Corpus. If you want to know the invisible, don't try to cut off the senses. You know, the danger of that, you know, manipulating reality always brings up the manipulator. The controlling reality, fixing reality brings up the controller, the fixer. It reinforces the separate entity who has power and who can change the universe, who is not part of the universe, is separate from the universe.
That's the danger. So yes, trying to cut off the senses. Again, if the river of life kind of flows into withdrawing the attention from the senses naturally, effortlessly, nobody does. That is what is happening. But if there is some contriving activity done by someone who opposes the stream of life, that reinforces the practitioner. So I would say that I mean, my instinct says that's why those two statements seem contradictory, because the underlying predicament that there is a doer would be what separates them. Patanjali, I don't think he would you know, giving instructions, like Bob Gibbs' instruction, relax. That is not an instruction given to the doer, because the doer has no power to follow any instruction.
It's not the doer. There is no doer. There is no one there to follow it. It's just the offering of the frequency, because relaxation is the quality of nothingness or peace. So if there is something in the heart that resonates with that instruction, that life, that river kind of comes into that resonance or that recognition. And now Richard says, Although, as I understand Patanjali, there is no trying or effort involved in Pratyahara. There you go. Yep. You get it. In the present situation, it can be unequivocally stated that while there is no thought present, steadiness could be better. That's just a thought. That's just a thought.
That steadiness could be better. It is a thought. It seems like there is no thought present. Padrinho of the Santo Daime Church, Dr. Paolo Silva Eshwaza, World's Authority of Amazonian Plant Medicine, says, it all begins with no thought. He does not say it all begins and ends with no thought. Be all this as it may, and follow the movement in ritambhara, truth-bearing, revealing Samadhi is being sought. That's the seeking part, again. Just notice that activity of seeking. Of arguing for this and believing that something imagined is better than what is right now. Open being is the finest approach discovered in 50 years. Nonia. Yes. Richard says, open being is the finest approach discovered in 50 years.
Any suggestions as to achieve pratyahara and greater post-thought steadiness would be appreciated, although I suspect that the requirement is just more persistence. And postscriptum Bob, your gift of nine pieces of Zen is certainly appreciated. It has become bible of regular reference. The Taoist directions of Chan Buddhism is deeply enjoyed. Thank you, Richard. Yes, you want to add something to that? You know, Richard is looking for some sort of a hint, expecting that perhaps more persistence in achieving that state which he doesn't believe he's already experiencing. Would you like to say something? I'd love to hear it again. Any suggestions as to achieve pratyahara and greater post-thought steadiness would be appreciated, although I suspect that the requirement is just more persistence.
Richard wants to achieve some state which he believes is not present right now. And persistence he suspects would be the way to achieve it. If that's how life moves you, that might be the way for you. Just relax. Let go all the trying. And yes, nine pieces of Zen is quite a jewel. What's he writing? He's writing about nine pieces. He's constantly appreciating it. It's a bible. It's a beautiful piece of Zen. It is written by Chris, a man who used to come to Bob's meeting at times, but he was also studying a lot of other things. You won't find his name because he doesn't own it, but he's writing about the power of Zen.
And Alvaro says, muchos gracias. Oh, we got thank you messages coming now. So that is muchos gracias is big thanks. So I think that's the time for us to wrap up. Yeah. And thank you, everyone. And thank you for your soul, rather than trying to reach something that you believe is not. Thank you, absolute. Yes. And every so-called thing is absolute, so. It's just the reflection of that wholeness, completeness. And you are that. Love you all. Love you.
