James, Catherine, Amy, Brady, Moxie, Tess, Rowan, James, Megan, Michelle, and Paul. This is your name? Okay. Got enough gadgets. Okay. It's the same old story. As it's all there is, there couldn't be any other story, could there? Go through the spiel. We don't teach you anything here, and we don't tell you anything. I understand that right from the start, because when you recognise what we're talking about, you realise that nobody can tell you anything or teach you anything. Because what we talk about is what they call non-duality. Non-duality meaning one without a second, or the one without a second is what they put on most of the circles, they call it God.
I don't use that term here because you get confused with that term. All the different traditions will have different terms for what God is. All I can do is point toward and ask you to look to where we're pointing to, to recognise or see for yourself that what we're pointing to is the truth. Because the false cannot stand up to investigation. So it needs to be. It needs to be. It needs to be investigated. Another way of putting it is I'm not talking to anybody. I'm not talking to any mind. I'm not talking to that body-mind pattern that you believe yourself to be. I'm talking to that I am that I am.
And that I am is the sense of presence, which translates or expresses through the mind as the thought I am. Just to this, nothing else. And is there anybody that doesn't know I am? And were you born with that concept or that word? And you realised you were not born with any words. All the words you've ever spoken or ever liked to speak have been learnt. And when you investigate the word and see the word is not the thing, because you believe you are this body, this mind, this person. Where does that word person come from? It comes from an ancient language. I think it was Latin.
Meaning persona, the mask. So we've got this mask or conceptual image upon ourselves which we've taken to be real. Realising a lot of the scriptures, the great traditions will say the person is not reality. It's just a conceptual image we've got about ourselves based on past events, experiences and conditioning. We've taken ourselves to be this body-mind, this person. Are you the body? Because that's another thing we point to here. That the false cannot stand up to investigation. So if you question some of these beliefs we've taken on board and question really looking into them. And if they're not the truth you'll see through them. So the person is not the reality.
Can you remember your birth? You can't remember your birth. Purely and simply because you couldn't have any words then. So how can you say anything without the word? And you realise you didn't know anything about this person. Until you learnt words around about two, two and a half, somewhere around that age. A bit before, a bit later. All depends how intelligent you were I guess or whatever. When we picked up words. And that sense of presence, the knowing that you are, translates as that primary word I am. Where does that word I am come from? Well they say, they trace it back. They say it comes from the...
Primordial moan. Aum. Aum translates as I am. And as soon as we say I am. We've taken it to be this persona, this mask. You didn't know anything about who you were or what you were. Until that capacity of reasoning developed in you. And that's the capacity these human forms have. That other animals, birds or insects don't have. They don't have that particular capacity to the extent we have. But they have other capacities that are more developed in that thought that we have. Like a dog has a sense of smell. That's much better to you or I. A bird can fly and have better eyesight than you or I.
But they haven't got the capacity of reasoning to the extent that we have. But through the capacity of reasoning, which is a very useful capacity, if we've learnt words. And the reason is a bird has a capacity of eyesight much better than yours or mine. With the learning of the words and the reasoning, we've been able to build ourselves glasses. That has improved our eyesight. So it makes us able to see better. Binoculars and telescopes. And the bird can fly. We can't do that. But through the capacity of reasoning, we've learned to build ourselves planes, helicopters, balloons or whatever that enable us to fly. So the capacity of reasoning is very useful.
But it's also self-destructive. Because when you realise how the word, how thought functions, this reasoning functions in our minds, you'll see being a vibration, it vibrates into pairs of opposites. And have a look at your thinking. See how your thinking functions. You realise you're either in the past, which is memory, or in the future, which is anticipation, imagination. And then it's functioning with all these other words we've learnt. It's either good or bad, pleasant, painful, happy, sad, loving, hating, positive, negative. So the words have divided the one essence, the one intelligence energy, into duality. Instead of being one essence, the one essence appearing as everything, which is pure seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, functioning.
Now we take one part of it as I, because we've learnt words like I or me. And the other part is not I. That's what we see as separate from I. So we've divided the indivisible. It can't be divided. They tell you that in the scriptures. It's the one essence. That patterns shapes and forms, experiences, and expressing as everything. And they call it that. That's the great mantra. I am that. And don't you innately know that already? Because you say that's the chair you're sitting on. That's the room we're in. That's the mirror at the end of the room. That's the trees and the flowers and everything outside.
The birds, animals, they're birds. Everything is that. And that, is the shape and form, and form that seemingly vibrates us, which is that pure intelligence energy vibrating. So when you say I am that, innately we already know it's all that, one essence, patterning, shaping, forming, experience. But now we've taken on the separate entity, dividing it up into dualistic pattern, shapes and forms. And the me and the not me, the I and the you, happiness, the sadness, the fear and all our psychological suffering comes about because of that seeming division. And we've divided it with the word. Hey, and the word is not the thing. Have a look at it and see.
Am I this body? Am I this mind? Am I this person? Innately you know you're not the body because you say my body, my mind, my house, my car. You know you're not the house, the car, the coat or the hat. You're not my mind or the body. But we've taken ourselves to believe it so, functioned from that seemingly pattern. Everybody around us, we've all learnt words. And learning words. We've all taken ourselves to believe it. We're separate. In the scriptures they put it on as the one essence, patterning, shaping and forming, experiencing and expressing as everything. And the Bible will tell you, hear O Israel, the Lord thy God is one God, there is none other.
The Muslims will tell you there's no God but the God. Allah is his name. Christians will tell you it's Father, Son, Holy Spirit or Ghost or whatever. But as I say, it's non-conceptual, ever fresh precepts. It's not a precept. It's a precept. It's a precept. It's a precept. It's a precept. It's a precept. We've all got different labels and different shapes and forms put on this one essence. So you can see why we're confused. See why we're in trouble. Because we're dividing the indivisibler, inseparablebler, into words. And taking the word to be real. But what we were doing for the first couple years of your life when you had no words.
You were getting along quite well without it. Parents were looking after you. And we're going to have a good time. Where did you learn words from? Parents had learnt words from their parents. And you began to pick up words from them. You'd tell your little Johnny or your little Mary or your this, that, and the other. Then naturally, when you learnt other words like I or me, I am little Johnny or I am little Mary. So you lose sight of your true nature when you're that pure, intelligent energy, that life essence itself. And then we go to school. And the schools taught us to teach us more words.
And then we start believing in these words and take the words to be real and continue to learn words. Take the words to be real. So you can't do much with I or me. So what do we do? We add to it, I am Bob, the Australian, the good fella or not so good. I'm not happy, I'm not, this is bad or this is not good. Putting all these other concepts on ourselves. And we've got this conceptual image of what we believe ourselves to be. Now Shakespeare tells you, there's nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so. We're dividing it up with these words.
This is good, that's bad, this is painful. He says, nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so. Nisargadatta tells you that nothing can trouble you except your own imagination. We've got all this psychological suffering, and fear, and anxiety, it's just going on through our imagination. Break that word imagination down to image in, imagine. And realize we're creating mental or conceptual images, which we would take to be real, solid or substantial. But you've got a mirror behind you on the wall, have a look in that mirror. What do you see? You see nothing but reflections or images in the mirror. Now you can't say they're not there.
But go up to the mirror and try and grab your face out of the mirror if you can. You can't say it is there. So though they're appearing to be there, when you look in them, they're not the real at all. And when you look into this imaginary cosmos, you'll see it's the same way. It appears to be so, but when you investigate, it won't stand up to investigation. Are you the body? So you know you're not the body, because you're saying my body. My house, my car, my hat, are you the mind? Again, they say my car, my house, my wind. So you realize that you are not the body.
If it's my body, it's not you, the body, isn't it? It's a concept you've got. Are you the mind? You say my mind. Well, show me your mind. I can't show you anything at all called mind, except we have a conceptual image about it, what we think our mind is. Break it down and you'll see the mind is nothing but concepts, ideas, images, thoughts. What's a thought? A feeling. What's a word? Sound. What's a sound? A vibration. What's a vibration? A movement of energy. So all this thinking and the wind blowing and all the things of nature are vibrations. The whole manifestation is a vibration.
What about the thing called body? Are you the body? You say my body. What's the body made up of? When you investigate the body, you'll see you're made up of elements. Air, earth, fire, water, space. Just like the elements around you. Try and separate yourself from those elements if you can. Take the water out of your body. Your body's 80% water. You won't last too long without that. Stop breathing the air. See how long it'll last in the air. Take the fire, the body temperature. You soon get hypothermia and die. Get off the earth if you can. Get out of space. You can't. So when you investigate, you see you're not separate from this so-called body at all.
What's the body made of? The body can be broken down to subatomic particles. Into pure energy, a vibration, pure energy. So the mind's nothing but a vibrating pattern of energy. All this manifestation is nothing but vibrates of energy. It has no substance or any independent nature. It can't stand on its own. That's why we say the false can't stand up to investigation. Investigate these things and they fall apart. But we've got this belief that they're real. Look up your dictionary definition of belief. Definition of belief is an unquestioned acceptance of something in the absence of reason. Acceptance of an alleged fact without positive knowledge or proof.
When you put your beliefs to this test, you'll see they won't stand up. In the scriptures, especially in Hindu scriptures, called non-duality or Advaita. Non-duality meaning not two. One without a duality. Non-duality meaning not two. They break it down into Sat, Chitta, Nanda, Nama, Rupa. They are the five factors. Sat is existence. Chitta is consciousness. Ananda is loving-to-be. And the Nama, Rupa, the body, mind, the name and form, are Maya. They're illusion. They're appearance only. They're only seemingly so. So you can put all these things in this room under investigation, and you'll see they'll all be broken down. But can you break that? Can you break that?
Can you break it? life out of it. That life is a vibrating pattern of energy and I tell you Christ told you that I am the way, I am the truth, I am the life. He wasn't talking about himself, he was talking about that sense of presence is the way, is the truth, is the life of you. And you can't negate that beingness, you can't negate that life. You are the same thing, you are that life and it pattern shapes and forms that body. You say I was born but you can't remember your birth. How did you come about if you can't remember your birth?
Well you go back as far as your father and your mother, you mean that pattern shape and form you call your father, made up of intelligence energy in that pattern through the food he's eaten and the breath he's breathing and intelligence in that pattern shape and form enabled in that pattern a little microscope. Particle called a sperm to form. That sperm was suffused with intelligence energy, it knew what to do. The same in the mother, that animated life essence in your mother enabled in that matter form. Another microscopic particle called an egg or an ovum to form in that body. That ovum was suffused with intelligence, it attached itself to the wall of the uterus, knew what to do.
And the sperm swam to the ovum and it penetrated the ovum and intelligence energy and those two coming together doubled that soul, redoubled it and formed a little embryo. The little fetus which is what you are today. What were you doing about it then? If you think you're running the show now what were you doing about it then? You didn't have any words. You see it was evolving and happening by itself, by the life essence that was in it and that's what's living you today. Now that life, you must realize that that life is living you and needs a pattern to express. shape and form to express through and that's what it forms, it forms the body around to express through and that body is nothing but that life essence.
Take the life essence out of that body, what do you got? You got a corpse. Now the corpse before it rots has got the eyes still, got the ears, the heart, the lungs, the kidneys, the tongue, all the organs are in that pattern but what good are they to it without the life essence? So you see it's the life essence that's running it all, there's not the person or individual or set any separate me. With the life out of that body you're a corpse, you're no good at all, it'll break down. Just like you got a computer that's got some wondrous information in it and through the human functionings, through the reasoning they've enabled, through the intelligence to form these machines that are there.
Computers and whatever you like to call them. So that life essence, if it's not in that body you got a corpse. So it's the life essence that's animating, expressing through this body-mind. So you must be the life, the life itself. Without that life, which you never without it anyway, that the pattern shapes and forms break down, if the pattern shape and form, if the pattern shape and form, if the pattern shape and form, expression true or not, then where's the life gone? Where's the life essence gone? That's always and ever been so. And you're nothing but that life. And it expresses in myriads and myriads of different shapes, patterns and forms.
But it's only the one essence, patterning, shape and forming, experiencing, expressing and everything. And you are that. So that's what needs to be investigated and understood and grasped. And nobody is going to do it alone. Nobody is going to do it for you. That's why I say I can't teach you anything, can't tell you anything. All that can happen is something might move you to look a little bit further than what we're looking at now. To investigate and see. Am I this body? Am I this mind? Am I this person? If I am that, why can't I do this? Why can't I? Why doesn't this happen?
And why can't I? What's all this psychological suffering going on about? And when you see it all comes about because of that division. Subtitles by the Amara.org community That sense of separation, the belief we are separate. And we need to become realized or liberated or free. What's the need to become free from? The belief, an idea and concept to free. But we think we've got to become one with this concept we put on it which we call God. And when you look into that and question it and have a look, tells you in the Bible in the beginning was the Word. The Word was with God.
The Word was God. That's all that God is. That's another Word we put on it. All things were made by him by the Word. And there was nothing made that was made without the Word. And isn't that so? What did you know about anything until you learnt the Word? Nothing at all. And everything you're seeing and thinking that it was made we put words on it. So it's all made by the Word. When you look at the Word and see the Word's not the real, take the Word water can you drink it? Can you swim in it? Can you do anything in it? Can you it?
Can you drown it? You can't. Does the word fire burn your mouth? Can you cook with it? Can you heat with it? You can't. So the word's not the thing. Yet we've taken it to be the thing and separated ourselves from the belief in this thing. If you look out there in this manifestation, it's all things. You're a thing, I'm a thing. Everything out there are things which we discriminated by putting the words on. When, as I tell you, convincing men when no discriminating thoughts occur, the whole mind ceases to be. When you're not divided into concepts, thoughts and images, you see that it's true nature and the recognition will come about that I am that already.
And the search has become the problem because I think I have to become something with the search. But realise becoming is not being. As I say, it's that shit and the end of existence. Consciousness, bliss, you're existing right now, aren't you? And you're conscious right now and you're happy to be right now. So what do you have to seek to become that for when you realise you're already that? So the search is the problem. The search is we've got this entity we think it's going to become something other, but it can't become anything, what it already is. It can't become any more than that. And ask yourself, being, not being, knowing and loving to be is another name I've put in that shit and the end of it.
Anybody who's not being right now and you realise, no, I'm being, anyone's not conscious. And you realise I'm conscious and anyone not happy to be. You don't want to be dead right now, so you must be happy to be. So you already are that. But we put these labels on it and we think from this human form we need to become something. We don't. It's not a matter of becoming. Take that beingness again. And not being, I said this, you realise you're being. And you call yourself a human being and take the label human off and what's left? Pure being. You call God the supreme being.
Take the label supreme off, what's left? Pure being. So you realise that everything in this manifestation, whatever you can think of and not think of, is all that pure being. And you're already that. Now, If you're already that, who, what is it that's going to search and what's the need for searching for? You already are that. I pointed out before, I am that, the sense of presence, the knowing it. But when we think we are this separate being trying to become something, we're locked into the story. Because being will never become. Being is the actuality that's going on right now. And becoming is a concept or idea of a future.
And that's the concept of time. And when you investigate the concept of time, you'll see there's no such thing as time. Ask yourself that question. Is there a past if I don't think about it? Or what's wrong with right now if I don't think about it? Never look and see what's there if you're not thinking about it. And is there a future if I don't think about it? You realise there's no future unless you think about it. But you'll say, I was in the past. I'll say, well try and think about it. I'll say, well try and live yesterday. Or try and live a moment ago now.
It's already gone. You think you can go back and live with it? You can't. You can recall it. And what you're recalling, you can only recall it right now. You can't tell me what you thought a minute ago now unless you're recalling it. Same with the future. You can anticipate it and imagine the future, but you can't live a moment in the future. And the anticipation and imagination about it will be only really right now. And you can't tell me what your next moment's going to be. So see, time's a mental concept. So where does that leave you? It must leave you as this ever fresh sense of presence that's spontaneously expressing right now in this moment.
And you are already that. So you'll need to investigate these things and see for yourselves. How does it all happen? You look at your thought. Thinking's happening right now. And when you look at it, you'll see it's constantly changing. It only lasts a spontaneous thinking. When does now begin? You'll say it's beginning right now. And even as it's saying that, it's ending and beginning again. Ever fresh, ever new. How's that work in your life? Realise it's ever fresh and ever new. It's transient. It's constantly changing. Your body's changing right now. There are thousands of cells dying right at this moment and being replaced. So it's transient.
It's constantly changing. See how it works in your life. Something comes up and you like it. And you don't want the things you like to go away. You might love them and really go to them. You don't want them to go. Not realising no matter how much you love them, how much you want them, they're going to change. You don't want it to go, so what do you do? You resist it. You try to keep it there. Don't realise when it's gone. And any resistance is going on in your body. Resistance is conflict. You're in conflict with it. And that resistance will call you fear, anxiety, stress, guilt, remorse, jealousy, envy.
That conflict. And any conflict you are in makes you uneasy. That uneasiness, another name for the arseneas is dis-ease. You're not at ease anymore. So there's resistance, conflict and dis-ease going on in your body constantly. Look at it the other way. Something comes up you don't like. I don't want this one. I want it out. So what do I do? I resist it again. I try to push it out. Again in conflict with it. And again uneasiness, dis-ease. So constantly in conflict. That's where all our psychological suffering comes from. Resistance, conflict and dis-ease. But what's wrong with right now if I don't think about it?
No resistance going on. No conflict. And no uneasiness or dis-ease. What would be there? Would it be a sense of well-being? A sense of warmth or affection? Nothing wrong anymore? Have a look at it and try it out. We've been trying to work it out in the mind all our lives. The unhappinesses haven't gone away. The fear or the remorse or the guilt, the shame. It gets worse if anything. Because of the constant resistance going on. The constant belief that there is a person here that has some intelligence energy of itself. And believes it to be the person. And all this conflict goes on. It doesn't have to be that way.
It can be and it probably is because we've learnt words and never investigated. We've taken it to be real. To settle a little bit of investigation, you'll recognize the truth. And in Buddhism, it's like that. And in Buddhism, they call it a cognizing emptiness. And we think we are cognizing the emptiness. We're doing the cognizing. It doesn't mean that at all. It means that the cognizing, the knowing, or intelligence, is going on spontaneously, naturally and effortlessly. And when he said it's a cognizing emptiness, he made the statement then that emptiness is form. It's this emptiness that's doing the cognizing. And in that vibrating pattern, shapes and forms, it's forming, pattern shaping, all these pattern shapes and forms.
The cognizing emptiness. Emptiness is form. And he pointed out that form can be nothing other than emptiness. Emptiness is form and form is emptiness. And that emptiness, I don't use the term God, I use the term intelligence energy. And that's just a label. That's not it. But intelligence is knowing. Anybody who is not knowing, all right, that's it. You're not knowing right now. You're really knowing. Yes, I'm knowing. I'm cognizing. And the form is nothing but a just vibrating pattern. A shape, a form, a thing. So the emptiness is form. And it's the cognizing emptiness. Emptiness is doing the cognizing. We lose sight of it when we take on the belief we are this person.
So what needs to happen? Simply, it needs to be re-cognized. Recognized. That I am this vital reality. I am this natural state. I'm not this body. I'm not this mind. I'm not this poor, miserable individual. I am that already. Stabilizing and settling into that. See what comes about. When no discriminating thoughts come up, the old mind ceases to be in the old way. You'll see it fresh anew. It's the way. A poem in the scriptures is very useful, points it out. It says, the great way is not difficult for those who have no preferences. When love and hate are both absent, everything becomes clear and undisguised.
Make the smallest distinction, however, and heaven and earth are set infinitely apart. See, we've divided up the indivisible. And we suffer accordingly. It goes on to say, it breaks down all these obstacles. And all these obstacles, at the finish, goes on to say, words. The way is beyond language. For there's no yesterday, no tomorrow, and no today. So it's the words that cause all the problem. And the words not the real. And that's our problem. We learnt words. It doesn't mean to say the word has to go away. It can be very useful when it's utilized. But you see, the words utilized us. Taking a word to be real is telling me I'm not good enough.
Or I'm fearful. Or I'm anxious. Or I'm unhappy. And after all, I'm only human. A lot of people, people here, start to recognize that a lot more to it than what we've had us believe. That a big daddy in the sky is going to beat the hell out of you. Or praise you when you're good. And all these sort of things. It's not that at all. It is that life essence that you are. And there is only life, as Nisargada tells you. There's nobody who lives in the world. There's nobody who lives a life. And life lives on life. And isn't that true? For all the life that's in this room and in this manifestation has come from life.
And life is prolific. It's renewing itself ever freshly and ever new. All the various patterns, shapes and forms that are there. And you can't be anything other than that. But we've got the word and taken the word to be real. And separated ourselves. And the word's our essence. And the word's after all, I'm only human. Poor me. That's what we point to. And as I say, people move to look further into it. And they're looking along these lines or other things they've understood or grasped. So it takes you where it takes you. And some of us get stuck in the old ways. And think we're going to become something.
But you're intelligent people. Why haven't you become? Why haven't you? Mightn't it just dawned on you? Well, maybe I'm looking in the wrong direction. I've been looking in the mind all this time. And the mind's very useful. I've worked out so many things in the mind. I'm not an idiot. Why haven't I worked out the answer to life? And it might just dawn on you then. Well, maybe I've been looking in the wrong direction. And what direction have I been looking in? I've always been looking in the mind for the answer. Thinking it'll work it out in the mind. But I haven't been able to.
So if maybe I'm looking in the wrong direction, what way is there out of the mind? You realise there's no way out of the mind. Every direction you look at will always be in the mind. The only way out of the mind is full stop. Don't go there. Pause the thought. And then when you're out of the mind, you must be in the absolute, the reality. That's what brought you along to look at this sort of stuff. And I think that's what's been really interesting. I think that's what's been really interesting. And if it resonates in you, you'll take it further. If it's resonated you to look a little bit further already, it's going to take you where you're going to go.
If you don't resonate, well, you might go on and go back into looking for the answer in the mind. And until it dawns on you or something moves you further on, or it mightn't even move you, it might stay there. But it's up to you. So don't hesitate. If you've got any doubts, arguments, or ideas, don't hesitate to bring them out. Take a look at them. Ask questions. And some of you have got a good understanding. You'll be coming here for a while and got a good grasp of it yourself. They might be able to word it in a different way to what I do.
So it's up to you. Go ahead. I have a request, Bob. Yeah, hi everyone there. I have a request from Amarnath for you to speak on the false... Speak on waking dream, deep sleep are also patterns, false states of self. What are the false? States of self. Yeah. It's all part of the expression of this manifestation. Pattern shapes and forms, whatever. But they're, you know, they're not the reality. They're only the one reality. Thank you. Now you put your ears, I'll read you all the beautiful, beautiful statement, poem, saying from Brett. Morning, Bob and Kat and fellow launch wizards. Launch wizards. We are launch wizards.
My thoughts as I listened this morning. The presence of persona permeates perception, masking I am. Yet I am dances in the skies. Yeah. What breathes beyond the delusion of I. Being beacons, the flight of forgetting, the punctuation of patterning, the purpose of pulsing. I am rain, my mind flowering. I flow into the ocean and evaporate everlasting. Wow, that's beautiful. Gorgeous. Yeah, it is beautiful. And now it's your turn. Contribute. Tell us what you know or what you would like to know, what you yet don't know or have doubts or disagree or feel deeply or reject. Anything. Just jump in. Oh yeah, you have to say it out loud.
I know that Bob's an angel. He is. Bob's an angel. There we go. He's also a devil. Yeah, but mostly angel. He is a fatality. Just a libel. What Bob started with, that he can't really teach us anything. Please, please, because that's important what you're saying. That's important what I started with, that he can't teach us anything and that he can't show us anything. And I think that's the problem with the whole spiritual search is that it's full of concepts and conditioning which turn us into followers. And I think the main difference here is that there's a discouragement of the following in a way, which is really important and it's not going to lead anywhere.
And the answer is, it's not going to lead anywhere. It's going to be a little bit of a struggle. And I think the emphasis has to be on debunking the whole spiritual concepts which is done here and focus on the inquiry, focus on the self-understanding and inquiry. That's the only real thing to do. Beautiful. Yeah. Essential. And the whole spiel that Bob is doing is he is telling us that we are already that and seeking is actually not necessary. Yeah. It's not required. So suggesting non-seekers to start seeking is actually cruel. It's crazy. Because people have instinctual understanding that they are already that. Because what else?
What's not obvious about what Bob is saying? You're not beating your heart. Yeah, of course. So what's doing it? The power, the power that grows your hair, the power that grows the leaves, that moves the planets and suns. Some people know that instinctively without putting much effort. Some people know that instinctively without putting much attention into, I don't know, conceptualizing themselves as separate self. They're so passionate about something. Let's say they are wonderful cooks. They just throw themselves into cooking and they disappear in the process. So they don't really need to look into that stuff and good on them, bless them. It's just like animals.
They don't need to do that. But once they start, yes, what Catherine was just saying, essential. Don't put the messenger on the pedestal. Hear that truth from everywhere. Hear that truth from the birds singing. Hear that truth from the radio switching on. Because behind the political debates, there is still that one life essence, one life expressing. Or switch off the computer, switch it on and the light comes up. That light is everywhere. All you're seeing is just a different frequency of light. So the truth is everywhere is not hidden. It's just too close to be seen. Is that how obvious it is? Yeah, when the seeking starts, of course, this is the way around it.
Because now we are conceptualizing what we don't know and we learn or unlearn to conceptualize. We kind of go beyond the mind and beyond the language. Which is, yeah, it's a way around. But it happens. Life has it this way. And a lot of people that come here, including Bob was seeking for 16 years, me about the same probably. And that's how life had it. It's exciting. The seeking part is exciting too. It has its beauty. Longing for the truth and fulfillment and completeness. But it doesn't have to happen through worshiping the messenger and going through bitterness of disappointment when the messenger happens to whatever, like the ice cream or like the diet that you don't, or like the girls or like the cars or money or whatever.
It's not necessary. It's recognizing that same one life is in messenger as much as in everything else around. And then listening to the words, to the pointers rather than worshiping the one who points. It's also the conditioning. The conditioning around it is very heavy. Thousands of years of conditioning of all these concepts, spiritual concepts. And believe that if you go against them somehow you're going to be negatively impacted or whatever. There's so many things. So that's a huge thing to do in many ways, but it's simple in another way. The conditioning is so heavy in a way within us. And to sort of undo that.
I think the focus has to be undoing all those things and stop the following and focus on the essence of what's being pointed to. There has to be a reversal of that. There has to be a reversal of what our entire conditioning is about. Both in the world and in spiritual seeking. It's just the same thing, isn't it? Becoming. You do this and then you get to there and then you get to there. All time bound. You're following the desires and projecting. But even the idea of meditation that somehow you're going to be... Wait, wait, wait. They have to be together. Oh, sorry. Otherwise Bob can't hear what you say.
They have to be connected. Because this one transmits. Oh, yeah. Dean, did you want to add something? Oh, sorry. Why not? I'd love to babble a little. Please. Just a little bit. One of the things I love about you and your meetings is that you include everyone in it. Because there's... And you don't put yourself on a pedestal. You don't allow it either. Seemingly. Okay. There's no one. There's no one. I've been thinking a lot lately about words creating. The word creates our reality. Because in thought, it's our experience. You know what I mean? We're thinking about something and it's sort of not a reality, but it's what feels real.
Right? And it's created by words. And the words themselves are powerless without a belief. It's the belief that's put into them. Right? And at the same time, I find them kind of handy. So, you know, you're talking about the usefulness of them. You know. They could be used. Like, hey, you know, let's just see yourself as healing beautifully from a knee surgery or whatever. And just imagine it. And then do it with words if you want. And pictures. Even though it's not happening now. But at the same time, I'd be. You're helping me. Oh. Is that a concept? Yeah. Beautiful. Well, I don't know. I think about stuff like that because I've been watching things.
I've been fascinated by Nathan Brown on YouTube. Darren. Sorry? His name was Darren. Darren. Yeah. You're right. Thank you. Yeah. I'm glad you're here. I'm glad you're here. I'm glad you're here. I'm glad you're here. I'm glad you're here. I'm glad you're here. I'm glad you're here. I'm glad you're here. I'm glad you're here. I'm glad you're here. I'm glad you're here. Thank you. That's okay. Darren Brown. And the stuff he's been doing, he's this guy who's got like, he's an atheist. He's got people having like major religious experiences and faith healings and getting slain in the Lord even though he's kind of doing it.
It's just fascinating to me. And it's all just buying into words. Isn't it? Darling. So if that life essence wasn't functioning through him, he wouldn't be able to do any of that. That's right. And that's why we need to reconcile the whole magical thinking, healing, NLP and tricks that mentalists and hypnotizers doing. Where did that first come, first thought come from? That's the life essence. To even imagine the ideas of projecting your knees, healings, showering, white light through your knees or blue or gold or whatever, you need the thought and that thought comes from life. So it is all about giving credit where credit is due.
And then everything is valid in the appearance. If you put tons of attention, which is pure life essence into developing telepathy, well it's inevitable you will because that life essence is the creative force of the whole manifestation. It's just how much of that power you put through that computer. Don't blow it. But yeah, this is quite, it's, I think we had a really beautiful comment. Another one from the audience. I think it's a really beautiful comment. Another one from Brett who makes it really obvious. Bob's message is wonderfully simple, but so is the game of hide and seek. And that is the game we are drawn into when we wander on the path of self.
I was going to say, I wish I could be there in person, but then I realized I am. He realized he's already there in person. That's the, you know, the I am. It's all there is. It's always there. There's one more comment from Tanya. Full stop. Pause the thought. Oh, how lovely the silence is. Thank you. And one more from Amarna. Oopsie. That's kind of playing. Okay. Haha. Both hide and seek. Where for the mind. Where for the mind, not for the self. It cannot be hidden. Okay. Later. And any are saying there is no me. No me is found. No one is asking the questions, no one is seeking life is just as it always was.
There was an expectation that how this pattern expresses would radically change and there would always be calmness or peace felt, but that is just a thought as this is free to be. shows up us for example irritation still arises who would want it not to appear they are so good comments tanya this is brilliant beautiful who would want it not to appear not sure what is next seating as the peace stillness still joyful loving presence i am also sometimes it still seems like i am the body even though there is no one in the body isn't it wonderful that it still seems but you know the truth behind it so just enjoy the feeling it's just so brilliant julia did you want to add something no i was like just thinking about stuff like um um again using thoughts and words playing with them um when i first kind of um began to head in the direction i'm thinking on the one hand all seeking is spiritual whether you're seeking to be a rock star or seeking to be you're trying to seek something that which is just energy isn't it you know everything is that so yeah you're wanting what is not but if you're seeking event you're like everything is that life essence so even if you don't think you're seeking spiritually you are right so um when when i was in the church i was in the church i was in the church i was in the church i was in the church when i first started to like head in this direction i guess like in this kind of direction of spiritual seeking i suppose i could go towards catholicism or something else but that didn't happen i went in this direction it was um it was that car totally and and i'd heard his story of living on the park bench i thought he was homeless he wasn't but i was thinking that would suck i mean there's got to be a way to understand this stuff without having to live on a park bench you know and but what didn't occur to me at the time was you know that's just location you know you could be homeless and living in bliss or in a prison cell and living in peace and happiness and you could be like Robin Williams in a mansion and miserable you know what I mean or somebody else so that that's irrelevant and I thought I was at the time also very into the law of attraction which I know I don't know I remember hearing Marianne Williams say it's Williams and she said it's valid but it's spiritually immature she didn't say why but I figured well it's spiritually immature because the spiritually wise don't need to manifest anything for that because they know their peace doesn't come from anything outside of themselves it's you know their happiness is already with what is they don't need to become and at the same time it seems that when you're living in this already sense of everything is fine as it is things seem to flow more effortlessly in the direction of maybe a preference if I dare say you know like it's several years ago Bob when you when you got a scooter just showed up at your doorstep you didn't before you even wanted it you know there it was it just just happened you know anyway I would I suppose even dabbling in this these ideas of well attraction and manifesting is completely contrary in a way but so is playing with words and beliefs and all that stuff so I'd love to babble more about this or hear more you have to say differently even that part in which we say okay if i find the kingdom first then everything else will be added onto me that's a beautiful promise Jesus has given that you don't need to strive to manifest anything perhaps it is not wanting what is not and having a power and overpowering the manifestation towards your preferences but recognizing inherent perfection in whatever shows up because manifestation never stops it always dances the shakti always brings up things and then what may be brought up is the breast cancer oh no i wouldn't want that but that breast cancer i have a friend to her to who it happened this way she got the breast removed and then she became an amazon and she started guiding and loads of women she created very strong movement which empowered her which healed her cured her and she had a mission and a purpose in life and that was after a while in the first moment initially she wouldn't see that was a blessing but as as she was aligning with that life she , could recognize that whatever life is bringing in she is the life this is her bringing it in but not us a decision maker or choice maker or someone who manifests things but someone who recognizes perfection in whatever shows up it may not be instantaneous but it is it is possible and i think we have a couple of comments that we skipped no we didn't but they just shown up and that's from bill the body-mind does not see the body-mind appears in you the seeing how can the ever-changing body-mind understand this never-changing seeing beautiful that's uh absolutely how the movement can understand the stillness mind is movement body-mind is form how the stillness cannot the movement of the mind or the limitation of the mind or the limitation of the form can understand limitless.
And Patricia, how beautiful both of you. How great to have a fortune to be here. Hi, Patricia. Good to have you here too. And we have... I love Matthew. I love forgetting and remembering again. It is like a fun game. That's a beautiful attitude. Instead of, you know, just craving constant recognition, appreciate the remembering whenever it comes. Because that is how it always becomes, how it always keeps being fresh and new. And Tania, yes, the body-mind appears in you. That came up as typing about seeming to be the body was typed. Mind definitely can't understand what is happening in the body. What I am is not the body in particular.
It feels more true to say, I am that which is aware, knowing. Yeah, the Satchitananda, being consciousness bliss or awareness of being stillness. That sounds true, yes. I think there is another comment that didn't show up on my phone yet. No, we got over. Yeah, so it is really about discarding. What is believed to existence and unquestioned. So it really isn't about gaining anything or getting anything, but recognizing what's inherently already there always and ever. And even in that, what Catherine was saying, the really big point with the conditioning that makes us project that God as a father figure and worship it as something beyond and superior that we can never get or rise to.
And we are little. We are humble. We are sinners. Recognizing even those projections and conditioning as something really sweet because without transcending them, how would you ever be able to appreciate your greatness? Ask that life. That limitation is almost as if the Buddhists are saying, you know, you walk a thousand miles with the stone in your shoe and then you take it off. And that's enlightenment. That's the bliss. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . . . . . . Being in that imaginary costume of limited self for time being when, yeah, when life overwhelms you and everything is personal and it's conflicting. And it's not enough. And you want more, whether you want more money or more recognition or more love or more fame, whatever it is, it's always the sense of incompleteness, the sense of not enough which makes you crave for more. . rather than understand that, oh my gosh, this is brilliant, this is amazing. Whatever is happening, there could have been nothing. And now we have all that variety and diversity of sensations in the body and the impressions outside the body, not outside really, because they're within the awareness.
Like Tania was saying, I am within the being knowing. And the whole world is within that being knowing. The lights, the sights, the smells, the sounds, all of it. It's happening within the I am. Without the I am, the world disappears. In the sleep, because that was what Amarnath was asking you, confirming the false states of self as sleep and daydream, the daydreaming being in your mind, or nightdreaming, or any form of the manifestation. Yeah, that's another beautiful way of experiencing that diversity and variety where there could be nothing. So instead of beating myself up, poorly living, and me and trying to complete myself with external factors, Bob has it, I love that pointer, add, accumulate, amass, triple A.
And then, yeah, you remember, every time you gather or grasp or want something to complete yourself, that comes up, oh yeah, add, accumulate. Yeah, it's just the conditioning. It's just what we were brought to do, because that's what our parents, caregivers, school teachers, friends, everyone wanted more. And that wanting more is also love for life, and love for the self, giving to myself. But it's not necessary, because the recognition can come that as you are, who you are, is already complete, is already fulfilled. It's the recognition, it's the shift from wanting, grasping, and feeling incomplete to realizing that, oh my gosh, there's nothing to get.
It's already, everything's there. The attitude changes, the lightness comes to life. And the joy. It just naturally springs. But yeah, how to do that? Investigate and discard the false. You think you are the body. Yeah, he gave us a nice good pointers. How could you? The body is changing, and you're the one who knows and sees the change. The body was three years old, and you were there. Not the body. You want to go on it? That seeing that I'm not the body is a really good place to begin with. I think inquiry, because it's so easy. I mean, for so many years, I would ask that question, well, who wants to know?
You know, or who's the one feeling this emotional upset? And for many years, I would go, can you find anyone who can feel? And there was this, yes, I can. And I didn't realize for the longest time that I'm slapping a body part. And that question that Catherine brought up that, like, you know, the only question. The only thing to do if there's anything doing, you know, really is just to inquire who's doing it. You know, that is, that was like, yeah, that's such a game changer. And yet, at the same time, it's important, I think, just to bring out maybe the little preface, right?
If you're not a mind, if you're not a story, if you're not a body, if you're not a thought, if you're not anything existing within the illusion of time, okay, or memory, are you a memory? Who can? Who can? Now, ask that. Because it's so easy to go, well, yeah, I, I, yeah. Yeah, I love what you said about, you know, this I. It creates a sense of experiencing. And in deep sleep, there's no I. There's no experience, is there? Anyone wants to add anything on it? Oh, please. Can you pass on the speaker? I can't help myself, but, seems like the whole morning you spent the time saying to us, there is no person here.
And then at the end you said, it's all up to you. And that sort of flung me a bit into, what? Who? And I, deep down I know, but I still had to say it. Because it's just the word, huh? Yeah. It's just words that we use. The convenience. You want to comment on that, Bob? Well, I can tell you. Who wants to know? Who's asking the question? The belief in words, isn't it? That's what you were saying. That, you know, your half your spiel is talking about words, Bob. In words. And, you know, the power that words have. And the belief that we've, the belief that we've given them.
Has to be. Seen through. And then we use them as convenience. Ms. Argadata has a nice, sweet comment about the effort. If effort is required, effort will appear. And that will be guided by the same life essence that brought you to existence. And sometimes it may be a really, really hard lot of suffering, a lot of digging through and fear and imaginary death of the imaginary ego and stuff like that. That life has it every single story unfolds differently. And this is where you're right, Susan. It is a contradiction. It is a paradox. There is no self. There is only one. And then see how many pattern shapes and forms it experience itself.
Every single creature sentient and insentient is the expression of that one. So it is really like a holographic universe in which every pattern is actually the whole, the totality. And at the same time, it is the whole. same time it appears as a separate pattern it will always will appear this way and it is due to language because I can even have you know two two hands they feel separate there is one hand there is the other one but where are they separate and what from they are conceptually separated from each other but practically they are not they are actually exchanging everything with the environment they wouldn't exist if not for the space in which they appear they appear because of the food that I was eating all my life and and breath that I was taking one by one all that grows in that universe that changes is completely interdependent is completely unseparable and doesn't have an independent nature so even the body that feels separate and the eye that like Tanya was saying that it still feels sometimes that I am the body yeah wonderful it still feels sometimes like there is a room full of people like there is a world and it still feels sometimes when I go to sleep and I meet other creatures or people and I travel with them or argue with them it still feels like there is a world in my dream to how brilliant there will be time when there is no feeling you know just off but it is not now so now is time to appreciate what appears and recognize the brilliance of it because there is nothing it is nothing when you look closer Bob was saying you know we don't have the eyesight like the birds but we do build microscopes so we can look into the matter and see that there is no matter there's only energy it vibrates so fast that it feels like there is a matter just like you have the blades of the of the helicopter flying feels like a matter don't try it with your hand it would chop it off even though it's 90% space but it's rotating fast same with the whole matter and the sound everything is just vibration pulsating all of it but yeah it's critical creates the impression of the solid universe.
How great! You can also go down the trap of thinking that anything's required for anything. It's just stuff. That's it. Just stuff, stuff, stuff, stuff, stuff. There's nothing in particular. It has no boundaries. It's just whatever is there, basically. It's not void. It's just not void. And once boundaries start to go in place, whatever is not void appears to be different. With boundaries in place, you know, notions, visual borders, you know. But, yep, pause the thought and it's not even that. Yeah, I love the way you actually really bring that into the picture. Yeah, I love the way you actually really bring that into the picture.
I think it's to the simplicity of even refusing to label shit. It's just stuff. That's it. I mean, yeah. Just make it simple. It's not void. Somebody confused my meaning when I said stuff. They thought I mean individual objects. Yeah, no that's not how you say it. Yeah, I really like that. It's really simplifying it. Simplification is the key. Because it's really just one. I got a couple of comments to read from people who are with us. people who are with us got it here and that's one from Brett a cat we use the mind to see the mind and hear the mind yet we must not trust the mind and move beyond the mind how because everything is mind and yet it is no thing the knowing just beyond the veil of mind is so close and so far at the same instant I keep trying over my own mind yeah well if you see the mind perhaps the seeing is just a seeing maybe it is not the mind that sees the mind maybe the pure seeing in which everything happens is already beyond the mind if the interpretation labeling if you stop interpreting what you're seeing and giving it a meaning and giving it a judgment it's just that same basic seeing like you like you see the animals not bumping into the wall and the narrative or the conceptual mind does not take place because they don't have that part of the brain developed as far as the science is concerned you can call everything mind is the matter of definition we can say the whole field of awareness is in mind like Zen calls that Big Mind or Buddha Mind unborn mind but really the conceptualization or narrative when it is known it is known from beyond the conceptualizations.
It's not known conceptually. It's just pure basic recognition or knowing. It's like seeing without labeling. When you see without distinguishing anything, the seeing is still there. The eyes are not closed. The eyes are open and seeing happens. But interpretation and relating to yourself doesn't. So I think that's where, yeah, I keep tripping over my own mind. Yes, I see. I totally see how it can trip you off getting into the explanation of this thing. It kind of has to be left alone. Use the mind to understand things. I remember Bob used to use the analogy of the thorn to take out another thorn. And then you've taken out the thorn, and you throw both thorns away.
Or you use the stick to stir it. Or you use the stick to stir a fire. And then you throw the stick in the fire, too. The mind is translating everything. But actually, the awareness is actually happening at the same time. It's just the translation is the words, isn't it, that happens so quickly? And there is a comment from Amana. One book again. And that one says, without separate center, where? Who is there? The mind. Yeah, good one. And Julia, who is believing in thoughts? Another thought. Drop it all. Precisely so. And Amarnath, who I am itself is a word, an illusion automatically. It's absent like a dream.
Who I am itself is a word, an illusion automatically. It's absent like a dream. Not quite sure, but I guess that's just English. Yeah, it is absent. And then Richard, we have. If I am too, I should be able to take two breaths at one. Yeah. Cool. And Bill, wanting what the messenger knows obscures the beauty of the moment. Yeah. Beautiful. Absolutely. Wanting anything. Enlightenment, whatever, liberation. And Matthew, I love seeing all these people getting together, talking about nothing. It is really something. Beautiful. Yes, so we are good with the comments. And it's almost time. You want to give it a wrapping up, darling? Well, I want to say thank you.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Huh. My wife and son. Wow. Amazing. Amazing, isn't it? If anybody comes along and says, Can I do this? Can you do this? And you say, I don't mind. Well, it has not affected you, has it? And if you say, I do mind, Oh, no, you can not do that. Ba, ba, ba. Ba, ba, ba. You know, what a big story.
Um. In other words, It doesn't matter. Um. Well, I don't care if it doesn't matter. Mm. So it is still spirit if it doesn't matter. But the concept is gone. It's become non-conceptual. I noticed that in time it's going to happen. Every time I've caught myself feeling miserable, there was definitely a lot of mind happening. And every time I felt myself in a lot of bliss and love, it doesn't have to have a lot of thoughts happening. It's really just a I don't know, you have to use a word right now, but a loving. And I use that word, but it's another word of a yesing or allowing to this, isn't it?
Yeah, just dropping the existence. Yeah, it's hard to talk about this. There's nothingness without a word now, isn't it? As it is. Say it again, darling. Please. If it doesn't mind. If it doesn't mind or it doesn't matter, it's just as it is. Unaltered, unmodified, I agree. Another comment from Amarna, saying that I am of who am I is to know the illusory nature of I, its absence. Hmm. Yeah, the aim of who am I. Yeah, if you want to talk about aims, yeah, you could say that, yeah, the aim is to realize absence of the separate self. Why not? Yeah, that's the way to say it.
Yeah, so next week, Bob is not going to be here. And as I said before, he wanted me to carry on, so if anyone shows up, we're going to carry on and have the non-duality discussions and just yeah, see what comes up. No reason why I shouldn't. No reason why I shouldn't. Oh, that's good. Don't know. It may be two weeks, three weeks, four weeks, who knows. Depends on how it goes. I'll be reporting live. Because first, few days, he probably wouldn't be happy for any visitors to disturb this. That is how it happened three years ago, anyway. Thank you. Thank you, everyone. Just recognize that you're that already.
Recognize that you're that already. So just realize that, well, recognize that you are already that. Yeah, and you are already, like, aren't you? The being is there. The existence is there. If you want to try and stop being, good luck. It is already there. And that's all there is because that being, that life essence, that pure existence, that's what everyone is looking for, giving it different names. God, enlightenment, liberation, true self, higher self, whatever the label is given to it. That's what never changes. That's what's always here, always present. And it's never far away. It's never not here. You are already. You are already. Yeah, so, up for lunch?
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
