You're on. Okay. Good morning everyone. And when I say everyone, which one? Only one. Which one am I talking about? Because it's only one. And you and I and everything else is that one. That's what we point to, non-duality. One without a second. Not two. Only the one. And as, you reckon, what the hell is he talking about? There's big, there's people here and there's people everywhere else. What's he talking about? Well, I'm not talking about that personal one. You must realise that. They think they are the only one. Or there is only the person. So when I'm talking about the person, I'm talking about realisation or liberation.
Understand that there's nothing ever bound. There nothing was ever bound or ever will be or ever could be. There's always an ever the one, what they call Atman. Or the self. Or the self. Self-realisation. And that self is already realised. But it hasn't been, recognised in a lot of us. Because we've taken on all these beliefs. And it's easy to take on board because 99.9% of the world are coming from that point of view. Because it's never been questioned. But have a look. You've read scriptures and statements and heard people, some people, that have understood. They're not the majority. They are the minority. But they consistently point out that there is only the one essence.
That's patterning, shaping, forming and expreting. And expressing as everything. And I tell you that the Ma Vekr, the great word, mantra is I am that. That's what you call you or I. Is that one. And how could it be anything other if there is only one. The seeming appearances of other than that implies dualism. Other than one means there must be two or more. But there is absolutely no duality whatsoever in non-duality. That's what they're going to. So they call it ignorance in the scriptures. And we think, oh, I'm dull or stupid or I don't know enough. They don't mean that at all. They mean we ignore what is right before our very eyes and in our hearts.
That one essence. They call it ignorance. And so we don't have to go out and learn something. And then we believe we're not. When we learn something or take something else on board, we will no longer be ignorant. But just realize what that means. We are ignoring our true nature. And that true nature is what you are right here, right now. Not a conceptual image we've taken on board and reinforced daily and believe we need to become something. Realize that becoming is not being. It's a movement away from being. And is there anyone who is not being right now? And you look around you, no.
You see, that's being a chair. That's being the carpet. That's being the tree. That's being the other people in the room. That's being that idiot that's talking to us. It's all the one being, patterning and shaping. And it's different expressions. And it can never be becoming. Because when you look at that word becoming, what does it imply? It implies a future. Time. And I'll point out that time is only a mental concept. Question it and have a look. Is there a past if I don't think about it? And when you live and try and see what's there without thinking, you can't say there's a past or a future without putting a concept on it, a word or an idea.
But the words are still coming out presently. But the thoughts and ideas and images are coming out presently. But if we put an imputation on it, it's the past or the future. But to investigate that, can you live a moment ago? Can you go back and live last week? No, you realize you can't go back and live it, but you can recall it. You can recall what happened yesterday or so-called yesterday or last week or whenever it was. Put the conceptual image on it. But you can't go back and live it. It's dead. It's gone. So when we're relating to the past, we're not getting...
Life's leaving us behind because life's always this immediacy, this activity of spontaneous activity that's happening right now. And the same with the future in the so-called becoming. You can't live a moment in the future. Try. Try and live tomorrow or in 20 minutes' time. You can't. But you realize you can anticipate. And imagine what is like. And it seems very real. But the actuality of it is right in this moment because that's when the anticipating and imagining is going on. Not in the future, but we're talking about an imagined future. And what does Nisargadatta tell you? Nothing can trouble you except your own imagination. That we are imaged.
And that's what we're imagining or imagining. Just break it down, that imagination, to image in. Imagine. And what are you doing right now? If you're thinking about the future, you are creating mental or conceptual image. It might be about the past. But then again, come back. It's not a matter of coming back or going anywhere because you can't get away. But recognize what is wrong with the right now. If I don't think about it. Can you say it's good? Unless you're relating to the past or the future, some other experience, how can you say anything is good or bad? If it's just the actuality as it is right now.
So you've got to relate it to something. So all our problems are problems of relationship. Relationship is relative, related to or relative to. And what are we relating to? A past event or a future event or something? Or some experience? We're relating to something other. Instead of sitting with what is right in this immediacy. And I don't mean just sitting with it all the time, but being with it. Because whether you're walking around or doing some activity, it's always present. And the responses to that present, will be natural spontaneous responses. So starting to grasp these things, you'll see life is ever fresh, ever new, ever spontaneous.
It's not coming from some dead image, it's going to become something in the future. It's the ever fresh presence awareness right now. And that's nothing new, you'll see that in all the scriptures that are right on the board. It's this presence awareness. Anybody who's unaware right now, or unconscious, use that as the same as awareness. Not much difference between the two. Consciousness is forming some conceptual image, but awareness is this pure spontaneous knowing that you are. It is the I am-ness, or the sense of presence without putting those labels on. A non-dual one without a second. It's happening presently. And so time, no such thing as time, it's a spontaneous emanation that's happening right now.
But if we put the concept, oh I knew this in the past. We relate everything to the past or future, out of the habits we've taken on board. Relationship again, duality. Duality. Now that's why we're always in constant trouble. We're relating from a past event to a believed in future happening, and not realising it's all happening spontaneously right now. This is the actuality. That sense of presence, how would you translate it? How would you, if somebody asked you who you are, you'll say I am, I am so and so. I am, is that sense of presence, or awareness. But we put other concepts on, I'm bomb, I'm a good fella, I'm not so good, or I'm unhappy, or I'm sad, or I'm fearful.
We put all these other concepts. But Nisargadatta points that out to us when he says, stay with the I am-ness. And people grasp it from their old habit patterns, oh yes, I've got to repeat this I am. So they go around repeating I am, I am, I am, not realising what that I am represents. It's the sense of presence. So when he says stay with the I am-ness, stay with the sense of presence. And I'll say, you try and get away from it. Investigate and see that it is the actuality. It is ever fresh and ever new, and it's always is, is right now. It is the what is-ness.
And that's another label they put on it, just what is. Everything is just as it is. What do they mean by that? It means it's unaltered, unmodified, uncorrected. Purely and simply is. This is the chair. This is the table. This is you. This is me. That I am-ness, that sense of presence, is the is-ness. It's not the was-ness. You'll say, I was this. You're not. I will be this. You will never be. But can you negate the is-ness right now when you look at it? No, you must realise I am. You're not. That is-ness. So take that, recognise it, and take it on board. Does anybody need to tell you that then?
If you see it for yourself? Who's going to tell you anything or teach you anything? Just recognise it yourself. Recognise it, what they're saying. Krishna Murthy tells you it's choiceless awareness. It's not something, oh, I've got to choose this or that. It's choiceless. It's pure awareness just as it is. Without any choice maker or without any choices. And if it's choiceless, and any choices made to me, mate, or are made, they'll come up spontaneously. Without saying, I choose, or I'd like to choose, or I'd like to... It's a choiceless awareness. Have a look at that awareness right now. Sit with it right now in this moment and see what's there without putting any concepts or words on it.
And the next thought will come, will come up spontaneously, or the next activity, you're probably sitting there blinking your eyes right now or swallowing the saliva in your mouth or doing something like that. Did you choose to do that? Did you choose to breathe? They take that breath. You know the breath needs to be taken and the heart needs to beat or you wouldn't be there too long. But you're not deliberately saying, well, I've got to breathe, unless you're practising breathing and all the rest of it. That might can be very handy to improve your lung power and things like that. But all the spontaneous things, all the dysfunction that's going on in that body, mind, that conceptual image, you see it's all naturally happening.
All happening by itself. No body is doing anything. So relating to the past image, you're starting from behind the eight ball because you've got to get rid of this believed in entity and I've got to become something. And trying to become something never happens because of the very trying. Did you try to be born? You had no say in it at all. You had no say in what activity your parents were taking part in at the time. Give us some details. That enabled you to be here right now. And they didn't know either when they were at the same stage. So you can't remember your birth.
But you'll say, I was born. That's what we were told. But how can you say it because you didn't have any words at your birth? Realise that. What words were you born with? Look at a little baby. You go up to them and say, who are you? What are you? Do you know who I am? Can you say anything? You say, ga, ga, boo, boo, or whatever. Or might be telling you in baby language you get stuffed. How about people in the womb dementia? Yeah. So the whole thing is single and very simple. But we make it seemingly difficult. And the Hinsing Ming tells you that the great way is not difficult.
And adds to it for those who have no preferences. If we take, we've got some power and we choose to do this or choose that. When love and hate, that's the way the mind functions. It's not just love and hate they're talking about. It's the way the mind functions in the dualistic, in the pairs of opposite. Good, bad, love and hate present. So they couldn't write all those in when they were making this poem. So they just put, when love and hate are both absent, when you're not fixating on one as against the other, or even, leave them both as is. Love and hate are both, everything becomes clear and undisguised.
There it is in its purity. Right there before your very eyes right now. Make the, the smallest distinction, however, go to one or the other, heaven and earth will be set infinitely apart. And even that they can't say, they've got to use the term heaven and earth. Heavens, as when we look up into the heavens, is what, is the sky or space is what we call heavens. And the earth is what's rolling around in the heavens. Being rolled around. So how the hell can they ever be apart? They never were, never could be, or never will be. So make the smallest distinction, and what have you done?
You've conceptually set them apart. So if you wish to move in a one way, hold no opinion, for or against anything. Doesn't mean to say you don't have opinions. Opinions will come up. But let them come up and let them move on. Don't cling to them, or fixate on them, and try and make something out of them. Because like everything else, you're not holding your breath, or you're not trying to fix your heart in one position. You're not holding on to it, but breathing happens, and heart beating happens, food's being digested, it all happens. You're not without making it. Hold no opinion for or against everything.
It goes on, but I won't go into that. Have a look and see what happens. Think for yourself. But if you're having difficulty with that, what is your problem? Oh, I don't like this. Or I'm fearful, or I'm having a bad trot, or I'm sick, or tired, or unhappy. All concepts, all opinions, concepts. And we fixate on them. What happens if you can let them be? Do they hang around? Are any of these opinions stitched in your skull? They're not. Where are yesterday's thoughts now? If you go back, I believe, in this time, and have a look, where are yesterday's thoughts now? Haven't they moved on?
Some of them can be recalled. It all depends how much you're clinging to them. Your clinging needs, as it says, the clinging needs of the ignorant. If you're clinging to any of these things, well, you're in a lot of trouble. I know that. Well, I was in a lot of trouble. I could be in a lot of trouble today if I like to cling to a lot of things going on. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Anyone who would have your family would be. Your ex-family. Your step-family. Your real family would never do that. Yeah. So, that's what happens. You need to investigate and see for yourself what anybody has ever tried to tell you.
They've pointed it out to you. And very earnestly and sincerely, too. But how many of us understand and grasp it? Oh, that was good. That was very clear. And then you go back into the story again. So, in twisting it out for yourself, and that's all that can happen, and seeing what's being pointed to, are you the individual? Are you the person? Are you the separate entity? Or are you... Are you the reality? Or are you unreal? You know, this conceptual image I have is not the reality. But the fact of being is the reality. The presence awareness is that beingness. And it's happening in this immediacy, this actuality.
And in recognizing that, getting a glimpse of it, I am already that. What can I add to it? Isn't that the absolute, which nothing can be added to? Nothing can be taken away? Brilliant. But that's not good enough, because of the old habit patterns and the belief that we are separate. Oh, that's a good one. But you let it go again and get a... I'll find the answer to it. But the answer will never be in the thinking. Can't think your way into this or out of it. Through it. Nothing... Shakespeare tells you, there's nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so. What's he mean by that?
If there's not thinking, no thinking to it, it is neither good or bad. It's just as it is. As is again. But if you're thinking about it, you'll put one... Some stance, oh, this is good, or this is not so good. This is unhappiness, or this is fear. You put some conceptual image on it. Based on the words we've learned over the years, and we relate to those words, way back which... The belief we've put into them over the years, instead of seeing them fresh and new like everything is, we immediately bring it... Relate it to the old. This one's fear. How do you know?
Well, I've had this years ago. It comes up every now and again, and it's always been fear. Well, this one's always been anger. Why? Because you haven't seen it fresh and new. Haven't seen it as it is. You put the old image or label on it, and put the energy of belief in it, and so that energy of belief makes it seemingly real. Nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so. What's wrong if you don't think about it, but right now? Can you say it's good or bad without a concept? And if you're not putting it into one of those concepts, how long is it going to stay around?
Because what's your next thought going to be? You don't know. You can't choose the thought, but doesn't thinking continue to happen? Words continue to come up, spontaneously, naturally, inevitably. And you see that every thought is fresh and new. And if we don't put the old label on, it will be fresh and new, and the spontaneous activity or response that needs to happen to change it, or do it, it does happen. And things fall into place, amazingly enough, which we don't think about. I think they do, but they do. Just the same as the Earth continues to roll around the Heaven, and they're not infinitely apart, but it constantly changes, and it brings about absence of light, which is darkness, and absence of darkness, which is light.
And the action of summer, which is not winter, and the action of winter, which is not summer, and the seasons in between, the action of the tide coming in, the action of the tide going out, all these things happen, spontaneously, naturally, inevitably. I'm trying to take a screenshot. So under a little bit of investigation, you can't help but see it for yourself and recognize it. The Buddha called it a cognizing emptiness. And what do we take from that? We think, oh, I am cognizing the emptiness. We see it out, space is out there, and we realize space is empty, and so on. I am cognizing it.
But he didn't mean that at all. He meant that it's the emptiness, that emptiness that has the capacity of cognizing or knowing, or another term for an awareing. It's a knowing or awareing emptiness. And he made the statement there, that emptiness is form. That the emptiness is patterning, shaping, and forming all this manifestation. Everything in it are forms are happening in that emptiness. Isn't that a fact? Can you take them outside of space? Or any other things in it, including you and me, outside of emptiness? You can't. Emptiness is form, and the form can be nothing other than emptiness. And what does that tell you?
Even though you might believe you are the person, you are the individual, you know it all, you're nothing but that emptiness. It's the same as everything else. And what is the patterning, it's shaping and forming? The cognizing or the knowing, the pure intelligence energy. So you're not a little individual person that thinks he knows this or knows that. You are the absolute. Always have been, always will be, and couldn't be anything else. So investigate that and see for yourself. And see what happens in your life. See what happens in your life. I don't know, I can add to it if you want, if you've got any questions or any doubts.
A lot of people have recognized this and can talk about it just as well as I can. But there's a lot of people that might be having trouble with it and recognizing it a bit and get stuck somewhere. Well, ask questions. That's the way. Ask about it. Ask yourself. See, you might get some spontaneous response that will resonate with you. Other stuff you mightn't resonate with, but it's there. Well, have a look for yourself and see what comes. Yes, so we have a lot of our beautiful friends with us here. We have Henya, Sully, Heyman, Tony, Sharna, Richard, Megan, David, Julia, Cliff, Jane, and a lot more, Godfather, and a lot more, Judith, Mitra.
And we do have welcome message and we do have questions. We have comments. Tony likes the background. And she didn't hear what I'm saying. I was just trying to make Bob laugh. It's not important. And we have comment from Sally. She says, When I hear you speak, I feel the truth. And then I go off into my life and I get lost again. Well, if you know, if you feel the truth, you know where it is. Don't go off into it. Stop it. Stop it. Just relax and say, Well, what's next? See what comes. And let it go. Oh, I have a good one from Sharna.
Remind me again why I don't have to feel guilty when I get hooked by my patterns. See who is there to feel guilty. When you believe, when you know, that the so-called person is what is getting hooked. Can the absolute get hooked in anything? When everything appears in the absolute and the getting hooked is an appearance in it also, just shift the focus into that which it's appearing on. Presence awareness. Yeah, yeah. I'll just add one word. Not only see who feels guilt and also see who wants to take credit for the guilt. Maybe guilt is just another pattern that's just passing like a cloud on the sky.
If you don't hang on to it, like smile at it, say hi to it and let it go because it's not yours. It's a pattern. It's a habit pattern. And it's not you who hangs on to the habit patterns to feel later on guilty for it. So is the life hanging on to the pattern? Is the life hanging on to the patterns? And the life offering extra pattern on top of it of being guilty for hanging on to the patterns? They're all impersonal waves on the ocean. None of it is you, none of it is yours. That is just to watch the show, to watch the dance.
I think there was one more. That was one more good one. Oh yeah, this is a good question from Mitra. And then Trish is adding to it. Do we need to make any effort to be awake? For example, practising meditation. Well, do it and see. If you meditate and you might get a bit of quietness for a while, but has it cleared everything up altogether? How long have you been meditating? If it makes a bit of quietness. But the thing is to let go. That's all you need to do. Don't cling to the old. And you'll say, well, how can I let go? Well, take a breath now and hold it.
Can you hold it forever like you hold some of these thoughts and concepts? No, there'll come a time when, what do you do? You breathe out. You've got to let it go. If you've got a bladder full of water, you've got to let it go sooner or later. It's quite not deliberately letting go by the person, but letting go happens naturally. Don't cling. Don't cling is one of the Buddhist things. Don't cling. Somewhere else it says, the clinging needs of the ignorant. Yes. Let it go. Tony wanted me to come forward. When I speak, she hears me better. So I would like to add with the meditation, Bob very often has that question and very often answers it also.
I know personally people who were meditating, practising every day rigorously for all of their lives and it took them nowhere. And I know people who are naturally inclined to sit in quiet and it is transformational. The key point is to not expect that meditation will give you something. Because if you have that expectation, then straight away you reinforce the idea of you getting something. You wanting something. You not being already, fully awake life force expressing as it does. So the danger of meditation is creating separate meditator who want to gain from it. If this is dispelled, meditation is harmless. Some people may be inclined to sit and it may be serving them.
For some people it may be waste of time. It depends on the body-mind pattern. But the danger is when we want to achieve or attain something in future. And meditation is a means to achieve that something. Because first of all there is no one who would achieve anything. There is nobody home. It is only a phantom that says that there is some me that must awaken or get enlightened. And also there is nothing to be achieved. Apart from this very moment and relaxing all the objections that we have towards it. There is no enlightenment as a state. If it was a state, it would mean that it is a temporary as every other state like joy or sadness.
If it was a state and it wasn't right here right now, it's not worthy of chasing. Because if it has the beginning, it has an end. It's not it. What is already here now is that undeniable fact of existence, of being, which when we look from the mind at that undeniable fact of being, it seems insignificant, boring, not worthy of even focusing on. But when we stop conceptualizing ourselves as somebody, the being as boring or any concepts like what Bob said in the beginning, what's wrong with right now if I don't think. If we enter that state and again it's not we entering a state, it's relaxing out of the head which creates the idea or an image of the I.
If we relax out of that state, there is nothing wrong with that profound experiencing of existence. It is always available here now. It doesn't have to be waited for. It doesn't have to be earned in a huge effort or long meditations. It is always available. And it is available when the conceptualizing stops. When Julia actually, I didn't read the comment, it was really good when Bob was talking about I am, was the awareness and everything else was the consciousness. Like I am is the pure awareness, not the thought I am, but the existence. But when I say I'm a woman or I'm a man or I'm whatever, that's already labeling, limiting consciousness.
That's not, yeah, it's nothing wrong with that. But when it is recognized, the movement of consciousness, the assuming different roles and different positions in the awareness, then the consciousness is not who I am, because this is what I'm seeing or experiencing or observing. Then I am must be prior to consciousness or identification with the form. Thank you. And the meditation, when somebody is trying to meditate, Yes. utilizing the mind to try and meditate, it doesn't happen. I meditated for years. Yeah. Yeah. When I read somewhere that when there's no one to meditate and nothing to meditate on, that is the natural spontaneous meditation that happens by itself.
And that's the fact. There's no one, that's what we're trying to get rid of, the me that thinks it's going to become somebody. And that one of way, way, way, you know, about the three wise monkeys, I forget what it is right now, is there any copies of that out there now? Yeah. When eyes, ears and the mouth are spontaneously functioning themselves. Yeah. Yeah. It's non-meditation, undistracted non-meditation. Yeah, undistracted non-meditation, yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah, there was, there was, I'll better come forward. There was another comment, I think it was from Sally. She says she spoke with her friend about non-duality and she, and the friend asked, well, who is cooking the dinner then?
I would ask the friend, okay, tell me who is growing your hair? Mm-hmm. Who is beating your heart? And who's asking the question? Yes, because functioning, like, you know, the cat is also catching its dinner and is also doing whatever it does. But it doesn't take credit for the action. And it doesn't mean cat does it. Life expresses through pattern. Who is growing the tree? When you say who's growing it, well, that's what response is, I am. Yeah. But an I am is not that person. That's right. Take the I am to be the sense, the presence, Mm-hmm. the natural, spontaneous functioning life. Life itself is doing it.
But we don't notice that. We take the persona, the mask, the conceptual image, we think is doing it. Mm-hmm. But the conceptual image has never done anything at all. Yeah. Never kind of. Yeah. So the whole of life. Yes. Is expressing it and doing it. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not doing it. It's life. Mm-hmm. It's the absolute. Mm-hmm. Expressing in whatever way, form, shape or form it, to express it. Yeah. Silence, stillness, awareness. Mm-hmm. And you are that life itself. Mm-hmm. Take the life out of the body and see what … We had Cameron added a nice comment, who does it all?
Physics. Good, good answer. Very good answer. Physics. Absolutely. Cameron. Cameron. first products. How are you, Cameron? I see if there are any other because I think there are no notes. James says the me pattern is to name and claim, but there is no me, just pure being. Yeah. Absolutely. We have Julia saying letting go is a passionate interest of mind. It was my meditation practice. I have not yet apparently released the one who lets go even though I understand that nobody is here to let go. I wish there was a way to find whatever it is that causes the mind to return to thinking. It is the doer even though it knows from previous observation that there is no doer.
If she realizes there is no one to let go, who is there to hang on? It would just naturally spontaneously happen. Who is clinging to it? I can't let go there is no one to let go so there is no one to cling to it either. Yes, absolutely. Trish is saying a fun comment What is happening on the planet right now is duality on steroids. Heyman says no danger in meditation at all. Oh Heyman I have to comment on that. Believe me I have seen people who were so bitter for wasting their whole life and getting nowhere that they became chronic alcoholics and suicidal. So there is no danger in anything that is just how life expresses.
But if something is really good for some people then that is the nature of manifestation. Nothing is inherently good or bad dangerous or safe nothing. But everything is relative to its opposite. So even meditation has... I do believe it is harmless in most cases. Yes, it may be harmless just a waste of time but who knows I mean any position taken at any point is always a dualistic relative position. Yeah. Yeah. As I say that is the way it is and a lot of people who have been meditating for years and something they hear about non-duality or the truth or something like that and they say no I have been doing this for so long and I am so close to it.
Oh yeah, that is another danger. Yeah, so close to it I am not going to follow what they are saying. And I was a bit like that too it was until I was forced to let us go or see through it that it happened to me. Almost there. Yes. How the heck can you ever get there if you are trying to find it through the mind? That is the problem, that is what we have found out. And if the meditation is happening naturally and spontaneously that is alright which it does, it drops either up into silence quite often now without intending to. And because it drops into silence people think I am demented.
No, they don't think so. They just want your house. They don't think that. We have a good comment from Heyman and Heyman says I think it was in response to Sharna and generally about patterns that the one who is hooked is not I because there is no I. So this is just a pattern. There is no hooking. Yes. And that is what the psychedelic is. The world is made of hooks and rings Yeah. Straighten out your hooks and where can I cling to? Yeah, that's right. Actually he says the one who gets hooked is not my concern simply because it is not I. Yeah. Beautiful.
Now we have, who is Heyman asking who is a creator of coronavirus? The same life essence that is living and expressing as Heyman. Yes. The same intelligence energy your life is expressing as Heyman. It can pattern express as coronavirus and everything else. And does. Yes, or white blood cell or red blood cell. Heyman is also saying how can I let go of something which is not my problem? If you know it's not your problem who is there to let it go? That's right, yeah. Who can have the problem initially? Sally says, I like what Bob said that life will naturally let go of thought and bring a thought in like breath and like our bladder.
Yeah. It's only that we've taken on the belief when we're kids that I'm, which our parents told us I can't do this or I'm not good enough or I'm fearful. All relating to the I. But the little child there he's got no words. He's defecating, urinating, digesting food, just the same as you and I are doing. No words. Every word we've ever spoken has been learnt. And that is our problem but it's not a problem if you understand it. It's a good way of expressing and communicating if it's utilised. But the sad thing is it utilises us. That's what tells me I'm not good enough or I'm fearful or I'll never get it there.
And after all I'm only human. Mmm. I have a beautiful one. Actually I have a funny comment from Tony. She says no hooks and she comments no hookers. Aww. And I have a really good question from Megan. I guess she knows the answer but let's put it. Is everything apart from direct experiencing conscious awareness a fantasy? That's right. It's all... I'll tell you that. Not all of them but the ones that call it the manifestation mire. Illusion. It's a phenomenal manifestation. And your dictionary definition of phenomena is that which appears to be. It's all appearing only. We have a really funny one from Julia. I wish I had dementia if it would result in the thoughts and wisdom like yours Bob.
Yeah. James says it's the mind's nature to work in the pairs of opposites. You, me, pleasure, pain, desire, fear, me, you, past, future. See you are not the image in the narrative mind story that appears on the presence that you are. And seeing that vibrates in the pairs of opposites. They are the boundaries we put upon ourselves. Good, bad, pleasant, painful, happy, sad. They are the limiting boundaries that tie us up with thoughts, words, concepts. Put the breaks and limitations on the totality, on the absolute. Without the word is there any such thing as good or bad, pleasure or pain, happiness or sadness. Does a little child know anything about those boundaries?
As Krishnamurti says in that thing of awareness Jane knows well. When I'm happy I know it. When I'm joyful I know it. See everything as it is, there's a knowing of it just as it is. But then we put the extra concepts on it. Just the pure knowing hasn't changed. And when we put the good and bad on it we've put the concepts on. We've divided the good and bad when there's just pure knowing. The tree is there, that tree is there. There's no other meaning to it. But when we take the concepts of the tree if it's a gum tree or a moat tree we've moved it out of its natural spontaneous seeing state.
Also there is I think we all know it from the life experience even the life experience of the narrative or the story type of a self that good and bad are labels that could be adjusted or changed. You know someone calls you negative and you reframe your story and you see good points about it. We have positive thinking ideas we have all lots of branches of psychology and other alternative techniques of therapy which are offered to reframe and reinterpret the situations that we decided that they define us. And we also could see in our own life that I remember my greatest fear was to lose my first husband in a way that he would leave me.
And I could not think of any greater fortune from the day I'm looking now. But for 17 years it was a terrible thing that I was fearing. If I was thinking about it of course because I wasn't really thinking about it often. But situations that happened to us certain diseases in the past or losses in the past or perhaps losing a job and finding a much better one or divorcing a person who soon after became a criminal or whatever the situations we can see from different perspectives even through time how we interpret situations that happened to us in a different more mature way or perhaps more based on new life wisdom or information that we get.
Also even helping someone to see I remember helping my mum to see. She struggled with her own mother because the mother abandoned her as a little baby and she didn't really see her for the first 10 years of her life. One day she was ready to actually see what a great fortune was that because her mother was quite a toxic person and she was spared what her sister wasn't and what her brother was spared too. When you see things in a new life they are still a story. They are still stories from the past. But seeing two stories simultaneously is like the bad story and the good story or the bad story and the good story and the medium and the neutral story.
When you see there is more than one way of looking at things it's just so much easier to drop them all. Drop all of them. There was nothing good or bad you don't really need to have the story. The past is dead. It's gone. If something really comes up to be looked at you will be moved to do something about it. But if it doesn't I wouldn't even really waste time to go there because it's just a moment. This is when the life is happening. Always. Mitra is saying from what I understand it is about letting go and letting go and letting go until we have nothing left.
Have I got it correctly? Yeah. You've got it correctly in this way but you realise that there is no one to let go what does that leave you? You are the life itself. You are the pure life. What's breathing you? What's beating your heart? Is it the mind? Is it the thought? What's growing in your hair and your fingernails and digesting your food? Take that life essence out of that body. You're a corpse. What can a corpse do? All the organs are still there heart, lungs before they start to rot kidneys all the organs are there but what good are they to you without that life essence?
You are the life the life itself and life has no beginning, no end no shape, no form, no pattern but it expresses as every pattern, shape and form it is the absolute and a good analogy for that is the computer and a good analogy for that is the computer you've got all some wondrous information in the computer haven't got the power turned on what good is it to you? When that life stops functioning which form that body to express through and all the nerves and sinews and blood vessels and heart, lungs and everything that's in it to make that expression happen when there's no power through them what good is it?
You've got the generator that lights up all the globes in the room and all the the computer the television and everything the other electricity thing in here lights them all up but if there's no power there what good are those things to you? So what are you? Are you the measly little human pattern that you think you are that's running the show or are you the life that enabling us to happen and you're not separate from any other part of life life, there's only one life that's the one self and you are that life and it's Christ told you that I am the way, I am the truth I am the life and he's not talking about himself he's talking about that sense of presence that expresses through him as the life and the psychedelicist says there is only life that is all there is not the body, not the mind all the trees, all the flowers it's all life and he says there's nobody who lives a life or nothing that lives a life life lives on life and out of life more life comes and as I say out of life a little child comes out of life the virus forms and the bacteria forms and all that it's all life we like one part and not the other that's another way you put it too we are dreaming a dream you call the world stop looking for ways out we are looking for ways out to get rid of all this stop looking for ways that's not your concern your concern is that you're focusing on the one and not the other and that's the only way you can do it love the other love all of it or none of it and if you love all of it or none of it without any separation isn't it going to function in its totality and it says that the rest will be done for you by the same life essence that brought you into existence and is expressing through you and that's what you are the Sat Chit Ananda existence, consciousness and loving to be and see that right now no you're out of it no I'm existing I can't deny it anyone's not conscious I'm not unconscious or I wouldn't be able to talk to you another term for that consciousness is awareness another term for that consciousness is awareness anyone who's not happy to be oh I'd rather be than not be oh I'd rather be than not be even though you don't realize we're not going anywhere even though you don't realize we're not going anywhere the pattern shape and form this particular pattern shape and form might break down who knows what will happen but the totality has never been corrupted or contaminated in any way shape or form so it continues to express not as another life not as another body it's fresh and new so we have Haman is saying after Sufi mystic mentioned centuries ago centuries ago we don't believe in the existence of the universe in fact universe exists simply because we believe it so as I said it's a phenomenal manifestation anything that manifests is phenomenal appearance only definition of phenomena is that which appears seemingly so a good one from Julia you have to differentiate that how do you stay in non-conceptual awareness while listening to someone talk about concepts while listening to someone talk about concepts you don't stay in a work you are it yes you are if that awareness wasn't there how could you listen to anything that life essence yes I'm just going to add it because Julia who you are is the non-conceptual awareness the pure space this is your identity if from your identity of who you are you watch the person speaking concepts and you watch Julia answering concepts that game gets even more fun because you are not Julia you are the space like awareness and you are seeing concepts playing with each other you see one wave coming and another wave responding you have no idea what you are going to think or say next minute you are not the one who is to stay with anything you already are that space and I know that you know it for a lot of times but occasionally you may still have questions and thank God for that otherwise we would sit in silence otherness for him is him without otherness that Hayman says Michelle says I think the universe exists when we are whether we are here or not yeah you are right whatever you say is the thinking in the thinking universe exists all the time you are the existence yeah and Megan says it is about seeing through and not letting go or staying somewhere exactly unfixated awareness yes we are not fixating or stabilising anything leave it as it is unaltered unmodified uncorrect yes so Hayman is asking Michelle who just said that she thinks the universe exists whether we are here or not and Hayman is asking who is the we that exists or not yeah that is that is a good differentiation to stop trying and stop not trying Sharna says stop what Sharna says to stop trying and stop not trying trying yeah yes and it is happening and I would like to add to Michelle and others that yeah absolutely if you believe that the universe exists regardless or if you believe in devil or angels or God or certain diets they are all true in your in your experience but ultimate truth is not to be known at least is not to be known by the equipment that we have which is the computer which is projecting interpretation science has already come to that conclusion with the uncertainty principle you cannot measure anything or assert anything without influencing it by the fact of observation which is totally necessary to assert anything so we can't really say if our world exists when we don't we don't know if the world view or the model of the world that you have is the same as Bob has or I have we don't know whether Nisargadatta is talking about the personalised world that there is no such a thing as objective reality there is only a bubble that we create out of our beliefs and it is so called truth but absolute truth is a mystery well the thing to do is try and separate anything yes must all appear how it appears separate it if you can is there anything static that can stand separate and apart from outer space or anywhere else Richard says I see that Jane above used the insightful term pre-sense that you are pre-sense and Hayman also mentioned by Sufi mystics Sufi mystics and Sharna is clapping to Hayman for being a star student who is?
Sharna Sharna yeah Sally says I always have a sense that there is an I that needs to be attending to things like coming and listening to Bob I find it hard to let go because then I feel like I will become apathetic do no actions and just allow whatever to happen this sense that I can't just accept things to happen I need to be fixing things and improving them see that the I is the totality you put the personal concept on it or idea and you think of something separate and apart yes but it's I doing everything totality absolute also if the if the I doesn't have real existence it means that you don't have to let go of it you just recognize it because if to this day you were fixing things and improving things it wasn't I doing it it was life expressing through the character through the personality pattern that has already been created for all of your life by all of your influences combined so it wasn't I fixing and improving things it was life expressing through pattern if you recognize it right now the life will not stop expressing through patterns in a very similar way most probably because we don't really know what's the next moment is going to be but the probability that the pattern is there your tonality of the voice is not going to change your eye color is not going to change your way of grabbing the cup coffee is not going to change and your way of improving yourself or things is probably habitually run its course the idea that I have the control and I choose to improve things or fix things is just another thought if you see that that thought is also habit pattern that has been instilled in you probably in early childhood or maybe early teenage then you will see that that very thought is completely mechanical and that thought creates the action of doing and improving not you is the thought and you didn't think that thought you didn't choose that thought it is a habit pattern that has already been present within that body mind structure that makes it really easy to see that you are not the doer and yet everything is done oh yes Michelle is arguing with Heyman yes who is the one we who is the we that believes the universe is so that is the point Heyman says exactly who is it yes the truth is any assertion that the universe does exist or the universe doesn't exist is just a thought is just an idea the ultimate truth is non conceptual awareness in non conceptual awareness there is no universe because the universe is a concept and there is no idea whether it exists or it doesn't because idea of existence and non existence is a concept so whatever appears appears and does its dance but in non conceptual awareness there is no opinion or belief about it at all and there is no need to figure out whether there is an objective reality outside or whether it is not it just doesn't matter because there is no one who wants to know look up concepts concepts just a mental construct a thought without a thought do you disappear just let it go right now do you disappear without a thought you don't Ben is saying I like this from Rupert Spira a different kind of mind would perceive reality as different kind of universe depending on its limitations but it would still be perceiving the same reality the only reality there is is that in infinite consciousness or in religious language God's infinite self aware being beautiful Jane Liu how how does who that's the image of you in the memory and the image in memory is not real it is the story of an alleged you in reality there is only spontaneous ever fresh awareness not you, no me exactly exactly Rondine says Bob from the perspective of being awake does all of this take on a distinct dream like quality how can the real the actuality take on anything other than being being knowing and being happy to be no dream nothing though it might appear to be a dream like it's the one essence expressing seemingly so but it's life itself but do you feel as someone who woke up to the reality that all of this has the dream like quality the life well I know the truth about it it's not as it seems to be not as it appears to be but it's not but in a spontaneous actuality there's an absolute certainty I am that essence because Rondine the way you see the world is the same way we see the world it's no difference the idea that we see it differently is just an idea and the insight that everything is dream like yes it's absolutely available but not 24 7 it is not yes we do understand that it's Maya it is illusion yes but it doesn't mean that 24 7 we don't take his pain seriously or we won't feed the body because it's just a dream no the insight it is a dream it's like wow it is like a kiss from the eternity and it is truth but it is a passing phenomena every insight is an experience experience of cosmic union experience of bliss experience of seeing it from different angles in the way that is emotional or intellectual they all passing phenomena you can use that expression or the taking from the insight but it doesn't mean that that profound feeling of recognition everything as being as dream like is gonna be there all the time because nothing stays there all the time everything comes and goes it's impermanent but yeah it is a beautiful way of seeing it and saying it but it's not there all the time it can't be because if it was it would be filtered out of the consciousness but yes as Bob said knowing the truth the knowing the recognition is one thing knowing for certain that there is no one here sitting talking thinking interpreting recognizing things as such as dreamlike or not there is no one doing it it's just all life playing it's just all the dance as it is and Julia is saying the monster in the child's bed is very real to them everything imagined is like that monster non-existent beautiful there is a comment from Aldo when one can see that there are many interpretations to a single event then which interpretation is right or true the answer is known hence trying to understand the past for what happened which will satisfy this me is just a game we play knowing this we don't get caught in the BS we tell ourselves love you that's beautifully said Aldo I don't know if I spelled it right I'm sorry if I don't also beautifully said and Dana reminds I'm not speaking to anybody I'm not speaking to any mind yes yes or any mind says Jane letting go must happen effortlessly Heyman says and Dana adds I am speaking to that I am that I am and Heyman says to Dana I'm speaking to that I that I am Sharna one could produce that thought which is nowhere supported one should produce that thought which is nowhere supported is a quote Michelle replying to Jane Thank you Jane always say things in a way that I understand beautiful Sharna was quoting Diamond Sutra and Adrian sends his love who Adrian Hi Adrian yeah love from us Heyman says you are that I am kiss from the eternity mentioned by Silo Kat I like to be kissed by eternity you are the eternity you are the eternity you are the eternity kissing yourself through different bodies kissing yourself through different bodies Kat maybe attach the donation link I can find it I can't find it thank you for asking Adrian he is asking to attach the donation link I'll put in comments because the easiest way to do it is just click the button on Bob's website www.siloadamson.com there is I put the donation button on every page just to make it easy and it goes through PayPal thank you for asking it's almost 11.15 so please keep asking questions if not we're gonna go cooking leave couple of minutes if no question come we go Michelle is saying if this concept is being understood who or what is understanding does the brain have to understand in order to get this the brain has no power whatsoever it's the life as it's functioning through it will translate it or interpret it or do whatever is necessary to be done with it yes and I love that question because it's a great question like yes exactly if I need to understand something who is the I that needs to understand it is not the intellectual understanding because the intellectual understanding would be another pattern comprehending or learning something or believing something or taking on board it is more of a seeing through it's more of a discarding all the intellectual abstraction discarding the beliefs and again who is doing it nobody is doing it they just go they just flow they are not thinking clinging onto them they just flow by themselves so the recognition is not an intellectual recognition and it is available right now and it is as simple as affirming the fact that you exist can you say you don't exist no you know that you exist can you try not to be can you try not to exist no you can't this existence is there it's undeniably there everything that happens on top of the existence can be understood discarded just let go of not paid attention not given any value or validity so the existence is on the base and understanding intellectual knowing grasping letting go all of it is an activity within that vastness of presence of being so just see the activity or the movement as the content of that vastness of nothingness or cognising emptiness and that's it because once everything else is being a content who sees the content the one who is part of the content no if you think there is one who sees the content who knows about that one who sees the content you are backing off from any idea of any entity comprehending understanding or recognising or seeing back to the cognising emptiness so this is the emptiness itself that is recognising everything else as the content so that's why they say you as the entity can never ever wake up or get it or grasp it because it is always there when the you is not when the I is out of the way there is nothing to not only there is no need to grasp or get or there is no one who wants to know anything or ask anything but also it is not hidden it is always in the light it is undeniable we have another couple of comments but in order to have Michal says in order to have conversation about this there must be an intellectual understanding is it true?
there needs to be an understanding I'm not going to say pure intelligence no intellectual yeah but if you want to talk about it you have to know the language and concepts and you have to be kind of oriented or something in some cases you do in some you don't sometimes it will come out spontaneously in different words altogether that's right yes it will have that ring of truth to it or a resonation you'll know yes so the intellectual understanding is not the prerequisite it is like Jesus beautifully pointed out by treating equally the prostitutes and anyone who was poor or who was stupid or who was even mentally impaired they all exist and the potentiality of consciousness realizing its own existence through those bodies whether they are smart or stupid, poor or wealthy is equal the potential is equal pure intelligence energy and thank you Julia for posting the donation button Mitra asks as a beginner I need to make an effort to let go not sure if I can do it totally effortlessly well when effort is needed effort will happen but it won't be you who is making it no effort maker yes see how effort happens because it's required sometimes effort needs to be put in you when you go and have indigestion but do you do it?
sometimes there may be some effort but it's not yours it's just part of the happening so it doesn't need any conscious sort of me trying to put everything in it this was what I was doing for a lot of years of my seeking just putting everything in it because I want it so badly but that asserts the me that wants something and a me that commits to something and a me that wants that puts the effort and loves it there is always the profound sense of I that wants to gain add to itself, accumulate amass and have you ever seen a millionaire who had enough?
I have more comments Rondine all concepts are bondage everything is a concept no one knows beautiful that was three points all concepts are bondage everything is a concept and no one knows if anyone knows of a decent not expensive room of people who have finances looking for two rooms please let me know and Jane says when you see that the you that is talking about who needs to let go is a story in the mind no action is needed just see there are no answers in the mind that appears to own the pre-senses that you are and I would like to just make a suggestion because that may be helpful Kelly if you really resonate with the way Jane is talking about it because Jane has beautiful recognition and understanding and she could probably gladly as far as I know Jane and her golden heart guide you at any time you just reach out because that may be sometimes the same thing is being said for thousands of years by thousands of messengers in thousands of different ways and it is that particular wavelength that creates the resonance that may actually break through that veil of the conceptualizing I wish that that will be the case and Tony got some advices that's wonderful and yes Sally says thanks she found it asserting through the I found that helpful helpful that through the effort is asserting to me this is how I keep asserting the me yes and Jane says of course get in touch on messenger Jane of course she is happy to help of course Heyman says thanks for productive meeting by enlightened beings sailor boat sailor cat you are no different Heyman you are one of us you may be a sailor if you want you came here by the boat didn't you we can call you sailor Heyman Rich says hi Richard Hi Richard no Rich from England we have Richard with us and Rich also yes Richard and the man is saying one more and this is a quote you can observe you can recite and discuss scriptures all you want but until you drop everything you will never know the truth and this is from Ashtavakra Gita and he says as he recites the scripture beautiful point and and he says thanks Taz In talking with you the other day, Bob, I recognized that I am aware.
In that moment I saw the fact of emptiness, of infinite space, where there was no doer, no choice maker. It was, as Kat put earlier, a kiss from eternity. It was undeniable, but I've noticed that I have been biting my nails like crazy since then. Yeah, you gotta come and see Bob again. Oh, Skype Bob again, I mean. Thanks, darling, Bob and Kat, Jane says. Yeah, so people are saying thank you now, so unless Tassie, you want to add to what you mean? Or Bob's... Would you like to take up on it? Would you like to, you know, that will happen. He had profound recognition.
Now he's biting his nails over it. So what you want to add? Well, the recognition is enough. Just keep cognizing. You can bite your nails and do what you like. Just another... Remember to keep recognizing. Reminding, renewing of your mind. Also, isn't that reaction fascinating? That happens after. It is, again, not your reaction. It's just the pattern that comes up. If you see it as completely impersonal, it won't be disturbing and it won't have any hold. But, yes, Skype Bob anytime. People are saying thank you so I guess it was. Yeah. Thank you all. It was... Yeah. Thank you. Thank you all. Don't forget, as you are already that.
The absolute has listened. The absolute has spoken. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. speaking. Good comment from Tass. I will bite your nails Bob when the social distancing ends. Love you. Promise. Love you. Thank you everyone. Great meeting Czarna says. Good to have you here. And good to have you Cliff. Thanks to all. Cliff says thanks to all. Oh thank you Cliff. I just say this. It would be lovely to see you. I mean you know we know you and we love you and but we didn't see your face for a while and we do zoom meetings especially for people in Australia who don't have that tremendous time difference like in America.
We do zoom meetings in the evenings on Tuesday and Thursdays. And you can just you can just show up and blink an eye and say hi. Live. Links are everywhere on Bob's website and on Facebook and on meetup. So it is just to copy the password and click the link and join in that because this way we can read you but we can't see you. But yeah whatever is easy. Thank you.
