Tom, are you in? Same old, same old. How could it be any other way? It all boils down to no thing. The one essence. Patterning, shaping, forming and expressing as everything. It's formed that pattern that you call your body. We all call our bodies. Forms that way of expressing which we call the mind. Form this manifestation. The earth, the sun, the planets, the stars and everything in it. Inside that, or not inside or outside, but in the basic space. A phenomena. Basic space and the silences of screen. And which all, it all appears as patterns, shapes and forms. Appears to be real. And it is real.
It is real in its essence. But not the way it pattern, shapes and forms. Pattern, shapes and forms, they stay a phenomena. And they, the definition of phenomena is that which appears to be. They use many, many metaphors to point to it. The blue sea, where the sea and the sky meet, the horizon, the earth appears to be flat. The water in the mirror, it's a snake in the rope. All these different things are pointed out. But when you investigate them, you see they're not how they appear to be. So you and I, we use those terms. All based on words. And there's no word that is the thing.
And every word we've ever spoken or ever liked to speak has been learnt. Picked up along the way. Nobody in this room was born, or anywhere else was born, with any word. And the words didn't come upon you. Until the capacity of reasoning developed. Around about the age of two or three or somewhere around that age. Earlier or later, it doesn't matter at the exact time. Because when you look into time, you'll see that's a mental concept also. So it is the no-thing appearing and expressing as everything. And we've taken on the belief we are this person. This body-mind identity we've taken on. And all that needs to happen is to question it and see for yourself.
Because nobody is ever going to do it for you. Nobody can do it for you. How can no-thing do anything to any other no-thing? It just doesn't happen. But through a little bit of recognising or recognition or investigation and seeing for yourself. You recognise or realise or know the truth. Which they tell you in the scriptures, know the truth. And the truth will set you free. What do we need to be free from? The only thing we need to be free from is this belief that we are this person. This separate entity. This individual. This world. It's just a little bit of investigation, a little bit of questioning.
And it will fall apart. What's this persona? Where does that come from? The ancient language. That word comes from the ancient language. Latin, I think it was. Persona. A mask. When we've got this idea we are a person, we've got this idea we are a mask. Or a conceptual image. And that image is based on past events, conditions and experiences. So it's a dead image we're constantly relating to. And relationship, relativity, is dualism. And what we point to, what they call in Hinduism, non-duality. Or Advaita. That's what Advaita means. Non-duality. They try and describe as one without a second. Pointing out it is not two.
It is only this one. It is only this one. It is only this essence. Though it appears to be the many and appears to be in all its diversity and all the wondrous ways it is, it's still only that one essence. Which hasn't got any shape, any form, any beginning, any end. But expresses pattern shapes and appears as everything. All pattern shapes and forms. All concepts, all time. As everything. So the everything is the no-thing. And the no-thing is the everything. No separation, no division. Investigate, are you this body? And notely, you know you're not the body. Because don't you say, my body. If you're saying my body, just like you say my car, my coat, my house.
And you know that. The car, the coat, the car and the house are not what you are. But you think they are yours. All the same with the body. There must be something that knows my body. And you say my self. And you read all the scriptures and all the texts and they tell you there is only one self. One atman, one self. So as soon as you're saying my self, you've set yourself up with something separate and apart from it. An individual, a person has a self. We're constantly closing with our thoughts, feelings, emotions. Closing, shutting ourselves off from the self. As they say in some of the things, we shut ourselves off from the sunlight of the spirit.
And all that confusion returns. And we're in trouble, problems again. Tell you it's Maya or illusion. A phenomenal manifestation. The definition of phenomena is that which appears to be. Appears, another word for appearance is seeming to be. It seems to be so. But the way it appears is not how it actually is. Because all it is, is a somewhat of a movement. They say somewhat of a movement. A spander, a throb, a repulsation. It's not a full movement. Because a full movement will have a beginning and an end. When does now begin? You've got to look at it and say well, I'll start now and grab it right now.
But even as you're saying that, it's ending. And even as you're saying it's ending, it's beginning again. There's nothing static about it. And there's no full movement to it. Just a throb, pulsation. And that's all this manifestational world as we know it is. A vibration of that energy. And I use the term intelligence energy. I don't use the term God here. Because you can get confused with that term. We come from different traditions, different backgrounds. Belong to different religions. Some of you might be atheists. Some of you are Christians. Some of you are Muslims. Some of you are Hindus, Buddhists, Jews. If I start and...
If I start talking about God, you'll immediately relate it to what your traditional belief is. And so we miss out on what we're pointing to. So that's why I call it intelligence energy. And that is just a label also. That's not it. But it's a label that fits somewhere near what we're trying to describe. And whatever we describe in the description can never be the described. Just the same as the map cannot be the territory. So it's only pointers we're using. Pointing to have a look towards where we're pointing to and see for yourself. If we ask, can you look at this body and this mind?
Are you the body? Are you the mind? When you say my body, my mind, innately you know you're not. We'll investigate and see if you are this body. What's this body made up of? You'll say this body's made up of elements. Air, earth, fire, water, space. Just the same as the elements around you right now. The air and the space are there. The earth we're sitting on, the fire, the sunlight, the sunfire, all those elements are there. If you think you are this body, try and separate yourself from those elements if you can. If you think you're a separate entity, an individual, a person, this label we've taken onto it, see if it's so.
Separate yourself from those elements. Take the air out of your body. It wouldn't last too long if you weren't breathing. And you don't have to be a Rhodes Scholar to work that out, to see that you... Take the water. Your body's 80% water. How long would you last if you soon die of thirst if you didn't drink water? The body temperature, the fire. You soon get hypothermia and die. Get off the earth. Separate yourself from the earth. Though we seemingly be moving around and expressing on the earth, you're not separate from it. You need all the elements and things that are seemingly produced in that earth.
Get out of space if you can. The earth, floating around in space, is not separate from space. And separate yourself from the space. Divide the two if you can. So you recognise you're not separate from these elements. And we've taken on the belief that we are separate. And in that belief, we believe we're, you know, we're separate entities, we're individuals, we're persons, we're isolated, we're alone. And yet, here we are, using, or those elements are fusing us, or using us, or patterning, shaping, and forming us. And what the earth is producing, the food, and all the rest of it. Without it, we couldn't exist. And if we look at that word, existence, anyone who has not existence right now, and look in the scriptures again, and see that's how it's expressed in Hinduism, there's the five factors, Sat, Chitta, Ananda, Nama, Rupa.
Sat is existence, Chitta is consciousness, Ananda is loving to be. They say it's the bliss of being, and in this term, people think that's something amazing, a wonderful, great explosion or something. But just the natural joy or wonderment of being. Anyone who is not existing right now, and you must realise, no, I'm existing, I'm here. Anyone who is not conscious right now, no, I'm not unaware, or I'm not unconscious. Anyone who is not happy to be right now. And if somebody were to come along and say, you're going to die right now, with a gun to your head and going to pull the trigger, you'd be, wouldn't want to go, would you?
You'd rather be than not be. So you are that existence. You are that consciousness. You are that loving to be. And that's another way they put it. Being, knowing, and loving to be. Anyone who is not being right now. And being is not becoming. Basically, you are being. But you think this being is not good enough, and you think, you've got the concept, I will become something, if I practise this, or do this, or do that, I will become. And what's in that becoming? It's a future time. We need to look at time and see if time is anything other than a concept. Is there such a thing as time?
So in that beingness again, try and negate the beingness. You can't say, I am not. And if you call yourself a human being, and you call God, if you believe in this thing, call God a supreme being, and if you take away the label supreme, and take away the label human, and you live with the bare beingness, and that's all there is in this room. Outside of the room also. That's being you, it's being me. It's being the carpets, it's being the chair, it's being the bed. It's being the trees, the flowers, the earth. Everything is that beingness. That's the label we put on it.
Being, which is existing. Another term for existing. And the knowing. Another word for intelligence, or knowing. Anybody who is not knowing right now, and anyone who is not happy to be. So that is the basic essence that you are, which as that essence wouldn't need a pattern to express through. And that's all this body is. A pattern through which that intelligence, energy, formed to express through. Or experience through. And that's what's happening. But we've made the mistake of believing we are this body. We're not the life essence that pattern shapes and forms a body. We've lost sight of that. But we are the body. And we are the mind.
Being this body, we are this separate entity. We are this individual. And the word individual means undivided. But we are this individual or separate entity. This person. And that's what we've been functioning from, from the time we first started to reason. When we learnt words. And every word you've ever spoken, or ever liked to speak, has been learnt. Realised that. And been picked up along the way. And you've got to learn that. You've got a dictionary full of words which you're learning new words to this day. And forgetting old words. But you realise those words, if you didn't hear about them, and didn't learn them, you would never know them.
So they've been picked up along the way. And when you investigate the word, realise that the word is not the thing. Take the word water. Can you drink it? Can you drink that word? Can you separate yourself from that word? You can't. Does the word fire burn your mouth? Fire is heat. It's hot. It's burning. Fire, fire, fire, fire. That's not burning my mouth. It's burning you on. So the word I, or me, me, me, me. That's the same thing. Is that what you are? I am the word. Because that's what we've done. We've formed a conceptual image about ourselves when we learnt words. And that kept, that pattern was formed before we had any words.
In that body. Where did the body, where did it begin? You began at birth. But you can't remember your birth. Go back and have a look at it. You began with that life essence that was in your father, enabled in the fat and through the food he ate and the air he breathed. A little microscopic particle called the sperm to form in that pattern. Now that sperm was a fusion of the light intelligence. Intelligence energy that you are to this day. And the same in the mother. That animatic life essence formed that pattern you call your mother. Enabled in that pattern another microscopic particle called an ovum or an egg to form.
Which you can't see with your naked eye. That egg or ovum attached itself to the wall of the uterus. It wasn't floating around accidentally. It would have soon shifted out of your body if it was. But attached itself to the wall of the uterus. And the sperm swam to the ovum. Implying it was a fusion of the light intelligence. It wasn't just another blob of goo that had nothing. It's a fusion of intelligence. An activity of knowing. The same as you are. The activity of knowing. Because that's what you are today. That sperm and the ovum coming together. That cell doubled. And redoubled. And doubled again.
And it formed a little embryo. A little fetus. Which you are today. What were you doing about it then? Did you say I've got to do this or do that. Or grow an ear or a heart or a lung? You didn't have any of those things. Did you say I'm going to do it? You didn't. For a start off you didn't have a brain. You didn't have any words. You couldn't do it. But the night intelligence energy. And coming together. It knew what to do. It knew what was necessary to do. Doubling that cell. And forming that little embryo. Made up of the genes and the things.
Those two patterns. Your father and your mother. And the air is breathing. And the food is being eaten. And it's what living you and breathing you. Living you and breathing you today. And that is what you are. That life. Not the pattern shape and form. That is forming through. The very life itself. Because that pattern shape and form. If that life wasn't expressing through it. Couldn't do anything at all. Wouldn't exist. But it's taken on that life energy. Which has been taken on. It's not separate from the pure intelligence. It's the intelligence energy that's functioning in this universe. It seems to be separate and apart.
And is expressing as all these different patterns. Shapes and forms today. Which we can express or experience through. Through all the amazing and wonderful experiences. We can be utilized. That intelligence energy. But mainly. Because of the belief we've taken on. Losing sight of it. Instead of utilizing it. It's using us. It's telling me I'm not good enough. Or I'm fearful. Or I'm unhappy. All these different concepts we've learned. And enables that sense of separation to be. Seemingly more solid and substantial. And as it's said in the scriptures. The more you talk and think about it. The further away you wander from the truth. It's the thinking, talking and thinking.
That makes it stronger. And keeps it there. It's stop talking and thinking. And there's nothing you'll not be able to know. And they're not polluting it. Or corrupting the thoughts and the ideas and the image. See what comes up of itself. Nightly expresses and patterns of self. And it will reveal. That truth. Which you already are. And always have been. And we'll settle back into the natural state. The living. Will express as that natural state. And we'll be able to. Be at that natural state. And that's what they call. So called. Enlightenment. Or self-realization. There's not any being. Or any pattern, shape and form. That's going to become enlightened.
It's just a matter of recognizing. Recognizing. Or as I call it. Recognizing. Because it's always been cognized. Basically you know right now. That you are existing. You know that you are conscious. You know that you are happy to be. No matter. That is obscured. It's obscured by the thought. I and me. I am. Recognizing. I know. Or I am hearing. When we form that personal self. Which there's no such thing. There's only one self. Which they call the atman or the self. Which expresses in all the different ways. But we take it to be the person. Who is they sort of thing. You know that we are spiritual.
And the state of our self is spiritual. We take it as it is. Today it is just a dream. It is true. That's our anxiety. I don't know. The goal is just to come. But without the 많은 this is our strength. And be also thinking. So we had all this history of. Selfagnizance or self for the past 10. That is returned to us. There are human beings who are material. There's nothing there. But every human beings who allow themselves to be. They can beanalized or non-alternative. And accepted. Berry sans se Roy. They are folklore of some kind. There are murky Reeves. But they are who they are.
So fulfill that decided to the relationship with경. Recognising your true nature and discarding all these false or erroneous beliefs we've taken on. Discarding them, let them go. And being in the natural state as in nature. Have a look out there in nature and see what's happening in nature. The earth rolling around the sun, you see that every, I recognise that every morning because we've understood it and investigated it and see it's not just something static. It's naturally rolling around. There's no old guy out there in a cloud turning a handle and spinning it around and thinking it'll go here and there and go through space.
It's doing itself naturally, have its own natural functioning. The sun is shining. The radiance of the sun, the heat of the sun. The planets are forming. The stars. Patterns, shaping, forming. Imploding and exploding. Seasons coming and going. The tide's coming out. All the things are happening in it. Forests are growing and being cut down and burning. Ice ages are coming. Everything's happening out there. And we put it down to some old guy out there in the sky that's gonna do it. Some higher power or greater power. But if, as the ancients have understood or have pointed out, there's only one essence. One essence. One. And even this term God.
Most of the scriptures will tell you. Here are Israel. The Hebrews tell you. There is only one God. There is no other. Muslims will tell you there is no God but God. Allah is his name. Some of us call it a higher power or a greater power or a mind power or a thought power. But the ancients will tell you again. It's omnipotent. One power. A total power. A total power. And a total means it's diffusing every particle and every essence of this manifestation. All that appears and doesn't appear. It's total. Absolute. If it's absolute, you must be the absolute. Take an honest idea we're separate entities.
To express experience. And when in an experience in expressing, we beat ourselves up with the words, call it all the psychological suffering, the fears, the anxieties, the guilt, the fear, the stress, the unhappiness, the depression. Is there any necessity of going through that? If you leave it to nature as it is, pattern and shape and forming and constantly and ever fresh renewing itself out there. And seeing that you yourself are nature. You're not that person. You're not the individual. You're not that person. You're not even a individual. You're just yourself. You're like that. And relaxing back into that. Recognizing it and wrecking it and seeing what it does and realize it's grown you from that spermony over.
It's grown you into the little fetus. Into the little baby. Into the little child. Into the young boy or girl or whatever you are. Into the old guy. Or whatever you like to be. It's done naturally, effortlessly, and spontaneously. And we've made all of these efforts. all these efforts to try and fix it, try and make it right, try and make it real, and it never goes according to the way we think it should and how we want it to. So we're always unhappy, never satisfied. It's Wei Wei Wei tells us, why are you unhappy? He says because everything you say, everything you think, and everything you do is for yourself.
You're doing for that believed in self. And he says there isn't one. So we're doing all these things unnecessarily for something that doesn't exist. Come back to the basics. You are the life itself. There isn't, as Nisargadatta will tell you, there is only life. There is no one who lives the life. And life is the life of the soul. Continually comes from life. Out of life, more life is consciously expressing. All that things have been formed. Christ told you that a couple of thousand years ago. He says, I am the way, I am the truth, I am the life. People thought he was talking about himself, put him up as something superior, but he wasn't.
He's talking about that I am is the sense of presence. And knowing that you are, that sense of presence translates as the thought. I am. Doesn't it? Have a look and see. To tell me what you are, I'd ask you who are you or what are you? You'd have to say I am, wouldn't you? But you take that thought, I am, which we add onto it, events, experiences and concepts to be what we are, a conceptual image. But the I am is how that life essence is expressing. Take the life essence out of that body, you've got a corpse, a dead body. dead corpse has got the eyes, it's got the ears, it's got the heart, it's got the lungs, the voice, the kidneys, all the organs are in it.
The voice box I should say, the voice was not coming through there. But it can't do anything without that animating life energy. So what are you? Are you the body or are you the life itself which forms and expresses through the body, pattern, shapes and forms. And every cell in that body is suffused with an innate intelligence energy, the activity of knowing. Each cell is suffused with intelligence. It knows what to do. We've taken a whole lot and think with this conceptual image we've formed, we think that it's running the show. And we believe it, believe it and act as if it's real. And it does.
It doesn't live up to what we'd like it to do because it can't. A mental image cannot do anything. And the Sargatasa will tell you that when he says, nothing can trouble you except in your own imagination. Break that word imagination down to image in. Imagine. That's not what we're utilising this body to do. Create all these conceptual or mental images based on past events, experiences, and experiences. And we're going to use the events, experiences, and conditioning which are dead images. Which we form on this pattern. I am Bob the Australian. I'm a good fella or I'm not so good. I'm unhappy. I've had a bad childhood.
I was abused or whatever has gone on. Trauma, drama. We'll put the label on and relate it to this conceptual image. To give this image some pattern, shape, and form. Makes it something. Because we can't abide as the no-thing. We think it is the something. And we think it is this pattern, shape, and form we call the body. Which is a thing. And all this manifestation is made up of things. Pattern, shapes, and forms. All appearing in the no-thingness of space. And if they're appearing in a space, they can't postulate anything outside of space. They are nothing but the emptiness in the space. They are nothing but the no-thing appearing as everything.
As the Buddha told you, he says, it's a cognising emptiness. Not that we, cognising emptiness. But that emptiness, that basic emptiness of science has the capacity of cognising. Or another term of cognising is knowing. And he made the statement then that emptiness is form. It is this cognising emptiness of space. And that's what we call cognising emptiness. That's forming, vibrating into all these pattern, shapes, and forms. Pointing to amazing, wondrous, intelligence, energy that is effusing it. That's the fuse with it. He made the emptiness of form. And he made the statement that form can be nothing other than emptiness. You and I, and all this manifestation of forms.
Shape, patterns, shapes, and forms. That's all out there. and we're nothing other than the emptiness. We don't realize it or maybe we don't want to realize it. Well maybe we think a little bit more. We'll try and get to more with your mind. See where it gets you. You've been in the mind all your life up till now. If you weren't quite, weren't exactly happy with it, naturally satisfied with it, you wouldn't be sitting here today looking for something more. And you wouldn't have looked for something more before you got here to other things you've looked into, investigated, trying to get somewhere. And all the while we mightn't realize it, we've been looking in the wrong direction.
We've been looking for the mind to get the answer. But the answer can never be in the mind. Because nature is the mind. It's just a matter of energy. It's a vibrating pattern of energy. And there's no such thing as mind if you look into it. And that vibration and then the silence of the vibration of silence will form sound and the vibration comes and the body vibrates. The body is fused with the silence and sound forms words and we learn words and discriminate ourselves as being something separate in the past. And that's what we are to look at. Look along the way. Look along those lines and see for yourself if you are this person, if you are this individual, if you are the separate entity.
And we say when you've investigated, the false cannot stand up to investigation. No, you are this body. You look at that and realize the body is made up of elements. And the elements can be broken down into energy. You know, things are vibrating, a pattern of energy. The voice or sound comes out as words. Sound breaks the silence. Out of silence. silence vibrates a while where does it different different pass on to these words now are going out there where they go they'll disappear back into the silence or the stillness again so it comes and goes back into its own nature into its own essence and you are that essence and it can be very amazing and wonderful to be this human but it will be horrible terrible and all concepts and ideas that go on and with all the hype resentment and fear distraction because we related to this self and get self gratification and that which becomes thought ordered or doesn't happen we become unhappy angry fearful so it all comes about because of this conceptual image and the belief we are they separate entity the people peace is where the mind is not that's why you won't find the answer in the mind that's what the ancient call it the peace that passes all understanding then you dissect that and what mean to understand it means to try and grasp it with the mind if you're not trying to grasp it if it's beyond the understanding if it's prior to the understanding that's how it says peace has passed us all understanding it's prior to it and what's wrong with right now if you ask yourself what's wrong with right now and I if I don't think about it and you pause the thought for a moment if that thought has ceased for a moment and if you look into trying to see what's beyond it it will in the looking you'll see beyond it you'll realize in that seeing beyond it still breathing your heart still beating your hair and fingernails are still growing the function is still there so then you are prior to thought you're prior prior to the thought when it's beyond the understanding you are prior to the thought in that moment and thought comes upon it because the first two years of your life you had no words or sound you couldn't separate it you were seeing hearing tasting touching smelling breathing heart beating all going on but you hadn't learned many words to discriminate it you couldn't say I'm doing this or I'm doing that the doing was happening you couldn't say I'm doing this or I'm doing that the doing was happening happening spontaneously and naturally.
Just the same as it is now. You're seeing right now, you're hearing right now, you're tasting right now, touching right now, smelling right now, feeling. It's all going on. Breathing, heart beating, air growing, all going on. But we put labels on it, words on it, and lose sight of the true nature. So that's what we point to. Ask yourself, are you this body, mind? Are you this separate entity? You say myself. Are you? What is my? Is it me or am I? What is the me or the my that you're talking about? Have a look at that. Investigate this self. This self becomes the self-center, the reference point, or the ego.
What we're constantly relating to is the conceptual image. We've added onto this self events, experiences, and conditioning. All the past events, experiences, and conditioning that's happened to you, add it onto this self. I'm by myself. I'm by myself. I'm by myself. Bob, I'm a good fella, I'm not a good fella, I've had this experience, I'm unhappy, I'm sad, I'm fearful, I want this, I don't want that, I like this. I were all added on to the cellar. Believed himself. And I formed this conceptual image. It's not just a pure I see right now or I hear. And have a look at that. The thought comes up I see.
But does your I tell you I see? My I is not saying look at this, look at that. My I is not saying anything at all. When you look at it, you'll see some of the things we think we're doing, but we're not doing at all. They're happening. My I is not saying I see. It can't. But it is the instrument which the seeing is happening. And it's translated by another instrument called a thought. Which tells you what the thoughts were. Words were loud. But I see. The same with the hearing. My I is not saying listen to this, Bob, listen to that. It can't.
It is the instrument which the hearing is happening. No doubt. It's translated by the instrument again. The thought I hear. Now that thought I see and the thought I hear. Conceptual images. Because the I is not telling you I see. And the E is not telling you I hear. The thought comes up and translates it. But can that thought I see. It's not a pure seeing anymore. Because we put this label on. The seeing is happening without the label. Before you learnt any labels, the little child was singing. It was hearing. Before it learnt any words. So the thought I see. Telling I see is not the pure seeing anymore.
Because we've got this label on. Me, Bob, the Australian thinks it's seeing. But can a conceptual image. See. Can the thought I see. Actually see. The thought I see can't see. The same with the hearing. Can a conceptual image. Hear. It can't hear. It needs the ear, the instrument to hear through. And it's translated by the thought I hear. But can that thought. Can the thought I hear actually hear. It can't hear. It can't. A thought can't hear. But it translates what is going on in the hearing into the thought. The thought I see can't see. The thought I am aware is not the awareness.
The thought I choose can't choose. Choices are made. Hearing is happening. Seeing is happening. All these things are happening. But we're labelled to think I am doing it. But that thought I am can't see, can't hear, can't hear. Can't choose, can't be aware, can't do anything. That's the egoic concept we've got. There's an entity. Which is just a conceptual image doing it. That conceptual image can't do anything. So what's doing it? Well see for yourself what's doing it. Take the life out of that body. You've got a corpse. You won't know anything about it within your corpse. But have a look and you'll see other corpses what's going on.
You know. That corpse. Hasn't gone. It's got the eyes. It's got the ears. It's got the heart. The lungs. All the organs. The kidneys. All the organs are there. But there's no life essence. Intelligent energy flowing through them anymore. So the corpse can't see. Can't hear. Can't be aware. Can't choose. Can't do anything. Without that life essence. Similar to your computer which has got all the information in it. No information is a bit of good to you if you haven't got the power turned on. So that life essence that's living you, breathing you, beating your heart is the power. It is the pure intelligence energy.
It's the only power there is. Every other so-called power in the manifestation couldn't take place outside of that omnipotence. The total power. The thing that's appearing in it. So what are you? This body-mind entity you've taken on. And bound yourself into the little conceptual image. After all I'm only human. I'm only this body. I'm only this one. Boy are you the totality. Are you the absolute. Take your place as that absolute. Expand yourself and see. And see what happens when you're right now. Widen those horizons. Exceptional horizons. Take away those erroneous beliefs that are keeping you. In this. In bondage. See what's there. See how much subtle joy there can be there.
Like the sun. When the clouds thin out on the sun. There's much more clarity. Much more radiance. More clarity in the sky when there's no sun obscuring it. No more thoughts obscuring that functioning intelligence in your head. What's more what what's liable to come up then. What's going to arise out of that and pure functioning again. All the amazing and wondrous things that have been inventions are things that have come through. Have come through when there's clarity has been there. Not when there's been the full confusion of conceptualization. So see that you are that life essence. Start from the fact you are that. And see what that brings to you.
what clarity comes about, what recognition will come about when you're seeing through something and recognising its true nature. How does it work? We'll see how it works. If something comes up and I like it, how do you know? Well I've had this experience before and this one's good and I like it. We don't want the good things to go away, we want to be in the good things all the time, don't you? You don't want to be in the unhappiness, the sadness or the fair things. But we don't realise that this manifestation is transient. It's not time bound, it's constantly changing. It has no duration to it or whatever.
It's constantly transient. That's something you mightn't realise. Well have a look at that body that's sitting in this room right now and realise or recognise that it's not the same body you walked into the room with because there are thousands of cells dying in it right now and being replaced. And being replaced. So there's something, there's innate intelligence or something there that's effusing it that's replacing those cells, that's enabling the others to die off when they've served their purpose or done what they've done or something. And it's constantly renewing and refreshing it. It's transient, it's constantly changing. So when something comes up and I like it, we want to keep it there not realising it's going to change, it's going to go.
We want to recognise it because it starts to fade, it starts to go and we don't want it to go, we want to keep it there. So what do we do? We try our hardest to keep it there by resisting it from going. Trying to keep it there, stop it, grow it. I want to hang on to this thought, this concept right there. Not realising that any resistance you are in is conflict. You're fighting with it. Resisting it from going. And any conflict you are in makes you uneasy. And uneasiness is dis-ease. Anxiety, stress, guilt, shame, jealousy, envy. All these things are dis-ease. Resistance. Uneasiness.
Something comes up and you don't like. Of course the other way around, the things we liked has moved on in spite of our resistance to it. And if something comes up now we don't like it. We don't like this one. So what do we do with the things we don't like? We try our hardest to get rid of them. We don't want this to be there. But then there's trauma or drama for weeks, I don't want it to be there. How do I get rid of it? Well, stop resisting it. If we realise that we want to get rid of it, realise what it is, we're resisting it from going.
We don't want it to be there. We're resisting it from being there when it's going to change, when we think it's not going to change. We don't want it there. We're resisting it from going. That's what our life constantly consists of. Constant resistance. Constant conflict. Constant anxiety, stress, guilt, shame, remorse, dis-ease. So that's all our psychological suffering. It's resistance. Relating it to the cause of it all. Me. Realising that me that's resisting it in both ways is the cause of all the psychological suffering. And the effects of that cause are the resistance, the effects of that resistance are the effects. The anger, the fear, the jealousy, the envy, the guilt, the shame are the effects of that cause, me.
And that's what so-called karma is, cause and effect. So you see that me, believing in me, believing in this entity, is the cause of all my psychological suffering. No matter how long it's been around or what it's been, if you're not relating to it, and leave it as it is, it's transient, it's bound to change. But in the very relating to it, we're keeping it there longer than it likely to stay. And it doesn't have to be that way. Test it out and see for yourself. And the testing out here, that's what I found. It doesn't have to be the way it was. And it is not the way it was.
And it continues to change. Continues not to be. What it is right now, what it is, is constantly changing. But the is-ness is ever fresh and ever new. So that's what we point out to and ask you to look at. So investigate it, question it, and don't hesitate, if you're still struggling and have doubts about it, to question it. Question what something said here might point it out to the recognition. When you have another look and you'll see what they're pointing to is correct and recognise it yourself, then it's yours. And until it's recognised in yourself, it's not yours. You're taking for granted what somebody else has said and what they've said and anybody else has said is not what is actually yours.
Yours is what they can really understand or recognise and know it. So away you go. So what's yours? What have you recognised that is yours? Not intellectually, but really. Kind of knowing it for certain. I've realised that there's no one home. Oh, there you go. And that even my body, which I think I thought was me most of my life, is actually just an object in awareness. Beautiful. Yeah, that's the final recognition. Nobody home, even the body is an object in awareness. Yeah. And that presence, you wouldn't be able to say it's an object in awareness without that presence awareness. You are present and aware.
Yeah. But it's not anyone that is present and aware. It's the presence of self that's present. That's the way. He says, I haven't found anyone. Yeah. And it's all static. It's all moving. It's not static. It's progressing. It's going. And it's changing all the time. And there's something that sort of comes along and identifies and says, that bit that's moving along there is me. You know? But it's all moving. It's not just, no. You know? The noise goes on and hands move and, you know? Yeah. Mm. Yeah. That's what transience is. Constant change. Yeah. But what you are is not the transient. What you are is the ever static so-called basic screen or the space like awareness.
And even that is the duality to say that you are the space but not the content. Ultimately, space and the content are one and the same thing. The emptiness is form. But yeah, for the sake of point, they're beautiful. You see the movement. The movement being identified. This is me. And it's also the me is constantly changing, shaping, changing shapes and forms. One moment, me is an emotion. Another moment, me is the body. Yet another moment, the me is a worthless piece of shit. And yet another moment, I is an arrogant bastard or whatever. It has everything. It displays everything. It's no one. It's me.
It's me. It's me. It's me. It's me. It's me. It's me. It's me. It's me. It's me. It's me. It's me. It's me. It's me. It's me. A material form is I'm still here, always changing. It rectangle. There are just day as everything. No one is immune. You have good days, bad days. Good moments, bad moments. And that identification is constantly adjusted. It's constantly changing. The image is being adjusted. We don't have the same image when we had us as children or young adults or teenagers. And, yeah, so now even if the image comes up, it is not static either. Like if there was a static image, that would be even easier to nail it, to point it, to Julie, right?
to grasp it and see it as an image. But because it is not static, one moment the image is my emotional self, or my intellectual self, or my belief system, or my values. And yet another moment the image is the body. So not even that is to see as something solid. Even that is transient. But then there is something that never changes. The definition of the truth is that which never changes. So that which never changes is the presence, awareness of presence, or the basic screen, or the space in which all that transience happens. And as I said before, ultimately emptiness is form. So the transience and the changing, moving patterns, they are also emptiness.
So they are also what we are, or what I am. But that... It feels like a dissolving... Yeah. That's a beautiful description because if you don't buy into the thought, it kind of fades away, just like clouds. Constantly fading, dissolving, disappearing. It's not identified with. It's that which is still identifies with. Yeah. That which is still identifies with. That which is... That which is still is not... I know what you're going to say. It's hard to say because you're going to be wrong whichever way you say it because the moment... No, no, I'm not being wrong. No, no. See, the moment the stillness identifies, the process of identification is already a movement.
So the stillness becomes a movement. It's not that stillness identifies as the movement. It becomes a movement. It kind of... It moves. So it... But I know what you're going to say. And yes, this is a good point. It's a pointer. Yes, that it's not the movement that is... It's the basic screen becoming a form and assuming the identity, so to speak, because there is no conscious assumption or anything. It's nature to vibrate. Yeah, I mean, you can... I suppose it can be talked about in terms of an analogy, which is never quite right. Yes. Which is never quite right. But it's like the screen is the...
The screen is the moving... The moving stuff all the time. And... Sorry, the... On the screen is the moving. Yeah. Okay. But the screen itself is still. That's right. Yeah. And... And... And it's the stillness identified... Identifying with something on the screen that's moving, which is nonsense, of course. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But that stillness... Stillness. Yeah. Stillness is... Stillness is the signs. ..the signs where emptiness stirs, a subtle seeming, a subtle vibration somewhat appearing in it. And that's all a manifestation is, an activity or any activity's a movement of energy, it's all energy. You can't describe or grasp energy. Most good ideas are simple. Yeah.
And being a bit simple myself, I, I like the old railway station simple. And that just leaves me with the idea of giving a situation a bit shorter. I like that. Yeah. And I like the simple, and... And I like the... And I like the... I like the simple, but... And I like the idea of being a weasel. analogy. The railway station is always going to be the railway station and the trains are always going to come and go. That's my simple pointer. Beautiful. It is very effective. Bob has the one about Shiva Shakti, the static and dynamic aspect. It's a Hindu pointer. You want to expand on it?
Yes, Shiva is the so-called static aspect. Shakti is concept, the female. She dances, in other words vibrates, and the world appears. And all this world, all this manifestation, vibrating energy, break it down to that. A whole lot of it. And knowing is an activity. The very knowing that's going on in you now. Any activity is a movement, isn't it? An activity of intelligence forms out of itself all this manifestation. Out of itself. In shamanism, because Shiva Shakti is a Hindu description, in shamanism you have the father sky and mother earth. So it says the consciousness is kind of a male aspect, like in Shiva Shakti also.
And the mother earth is the matter that gives the substance to everything. But in the... In Yang, the Tao Chinese philosophy, you have the opposite. The black is female or passive, and white is male and active. And it serves as a great pointer because then we don't get attached that the male is active and female passive, or the other way around, or this one is stillness and this one is movement. It's just a pointer. It's just pointing to the basic duality, that basic split that there is something that kind of gives a start, the primordial cause that gives a start to whole manifestation. I love what Nassar Gaddafi says, you know, about noumenon and phenomenon.
Yeah. Yeah. And, you know, in its new nicety, it can't know itself. Yeah. And so it's... Oh, fine. Right on that. Yeah. And that's kind of what Cole was saying. In its new nicety, it can't know itself. For noumenon, in its new nicety, it can't know itself, so it vibrates into phenomenon. Yeah. There's nothing to know. Not nothing to know. Nobody to know it. Nobody to know it. And yet it vibrates. And yet it vibrates. Yet it expresses. It expresses itself. It experiences itself as the other. Ah. And the... Yeah. The whole show is here to be admired and loved and appreciated and lived fully, because it's not going to be here forever.
Every moment passes very quickly. Yeah. I love what Bob says about the moment. Mm. Yeah. The minute you say you're in the moment, it's the next moment. Yeah. Yeah. Who's in the moment anyway? There is only the moment. Mm. Yeah. You are the moment. You are the moment. You are the moment. You are the moment. You are the moment. You are the moment. You are the moment. You are the moment. You are the moment. You are the moment. Yeah. And that's the important thing. See that you're not this person. You are the absolute. Even though you don't believe it at the moment. But any belief, whether you believe it or not, is not the actual.
The absolute pattern, shapes and form. And they tell you in the form is nothing but the emptiness. The emptiness has formed. Emptiness is no thing. And the form is nothing but the emptiness. The form is nothing but the emptiness. The form is no thing also. Appearing as other. That's the definition of phenomena. That which appears to be. Appearance is only seemingly so. It's going on right now. Anyone who is not being right now. Being is not becoming. It's not was either. It's actually going on in this humanity. You are being. And you are knowing that. And you are loving to be that. Go back into the miserable story.
Oh good I'm having a terrible trot. The world is dirty on me. He doesn't understand or doesn't know. What will I do when this happens? Blah blah blah. And I'll give him a mallon when I get there next time. Watch out. All concepts. All ideas. Relating to what? To me. So I haven't got the conceptual image there to relate to. There's nothing there. What am I going to do with all that? Where is it going to go? There's an instant silence and stillness there. Even if it's only for a very split second initially. Yet you'll take a breath in that time. Your heart will beat.
Things are going in that. You're prior to all those concepts and ideas. See the thing. If you've got a whole lot of dead images. You've got a whole lot of dead images. Based on the past. Events, experiences, conditioning. All that. It looks through. It's pretty hard to be with what is right now. Isn't it? You're going to constantly relate and go back to that. Well what if? Why? But? How? When? Whatever. There's a hell of a lot to go through. But if you cut the crap and say well I already am that. And in that instant just let it all go and be. That. As it is.
You'll notice even in a short time there's a sense of relief in that. Go with that. Go with that sense of presence or sense of relief or release is. Go back and recognise it. It's not a matter of going back off. Recognise it as often as possible. Until as I say as the cloud disperses there's more radiance, clarity in the sky. Well as the cloud disperses there's more radiance, clarity in the sky. Well as the thoughts, concepts and ideas and conditioning which are relating to it as dead. Recognised as dead. Letting them go. Dropping them. Doing whatever is necessary. No one to do it but it happens.
That's the intelligence. The innate intelligence of the soul will say don't go there. It'll come up as a thought. Don't go there. Or full stop. So the thought's not the enemy. Well this is not true. It'll come up as those thoughts. In the direction we're going. In the direction which it's pointing to. And you see you must arrive at where you're pointing to. And when you arrive there you'll say shit I never went anywhere. It was always so. It was always so and it wasn't cognised. Come back to the place you never left. Yeah. Not that there's anyone to come back. Just clarifying. Yeah. And my attention may come back to it.
Recognising our true nature is this unhappening of that which never happened. Unhappening. Of that which never happened. That's a cool way to say it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. and know you're not unaware. Awareness is there. So you don't even need that label. It is what I am. And every one of us says I am. So that is what the so-called you are also. That essence, not the body, not the mind, not the person, not all the rubbish that's going on in their conception.
You are that basic life. And life is ever fresh and ever free. Sometimes it's that the grasping may even drop off, like trying to really figure it out may drop off, but there is still a profound certainty that there is a me, that there is a separate self. And it's so believed and so unquestionable. Hey, you know, I will know if there is no me. Right now I feel there is a me. And I remember there was one guy who was coming to the group. He used to actually, he's got beautiful clarity and beautiful way of thinking. He was pointing it, but he used to say, well, look, there is a body and there still feels there is a self, that there is a me in the body.
But that feeling is not who I am. That feeling of a me is part of the illusion, is part of the sea appearing blue or the rope appearing to be snake. So there may be still a sense of contraction, a physical sensation, but the physical sensation is also a passing phenomenon. It comes and goes. So if there is a feeling, it's because I know people who say, okay, I'm not seeking anymore. I'm not seeking, I'm not trying to grasp. I know it all. I don't really need to listen to Bob anymore because I heard it a hundred times. I do comprehend it all. I know it, but there is still a me.
When is that me gonna go? Well, there is no me. There may be an appearance or some sort of a sensation or belief or thought or something, but there isn't really a me. It is something that has beginning and an end. That sort of an illusion, illusory sort of a contraction or vibration or something. That's not what you are. That's not who you are. So sometimes if, and this is really an easy way to do it, the way you point, what's wrong with right now if you don't think about it. The moment there is no thinking, there is no me. There is no contraction. There is no idea that there is someone still sitting here or there running the show.
So if for a moment, you could live without the me, then now the most obvious thing is to actually give the attention to that moments of no me, because this is where you really awake, where you really free from the bondage of that imaginary self. And there's not even anybody to give the attention to it. It's just, I think what happens is, Bob's always said, we're either attracted or, there's either an attraction or there's a feeling of repelling. So I think, I know we have to use words and it gets a bit tricky, but I think what happens is, there's, I don't know, there's a noticing of when you're not in the story and you're not in the narrative, you're more attracted to that.
I'm using words. There is no you or me. I'm just using words. So you just, there's a, again, using words, a feeling, that being in that is more attractive than being in this exhausting story that dissipates energy, that drags the energy. You can feel the energy being dragged if you're in a story. And so there's a natural attraction to decide, you're learning who you're not, basically. So, not that there's anyone to learn, but, you know, you're learning who you're not. So I used to love what Bob used to say was, when you're cognising emptiness again, you've seen, okay, what's wrong with right now if you don't think about it.
And then you just, oh, you know, it's just a, and you give it a nudge and a wink and you're warm towards it and you love it, you know, and you can actually tangibly feel a release or a no resistance. Or a, you know, a letting go if you have to use words, which you do to relate. So it's just, you're more attracted to that than the crap, you know, the narrative which dissipates the energy, you know. Yeah, that comes a point when you're more attracted, but very often, initially, you're still attracted to working it out in the mind. Oh, yeah, yeah. And at this point, the pointer of, you know, the, you know, Oh, yeah, yeah.
The pointer of, wait, stop for a moment Yeah. and just stay in that gap in which for a mind, there's nothing going on. For the mind, that points are actually boring. They are inattractive. Mm, mm, mm. But once that nothingness kind of, it sinks a little bit deeper, it sinks to the core of the essence, that is when it becomes really, really sweet. That sense of presence, that awareness becomes sweet. But initially, it kinda feels, the mind is the only tool that is being used it kind of feels uh yuck empty boring so that is that is when the the pointer look just stay with that nothing just uh just give attention to that place in which you are free from the story drama identification the moments of awakening from that story and drama and identification over time that may become a little bit more attractive or that may may kind of sink deeper or it may open up to not be only grasped with the mind because for the mind it will always be only nothing boring blunt nothing so it is when the mind goes aside when it is actually out of the picture when the aliveness the love the joy the bliss comes so this is this is the analogy of watering flowers instead of watering the flowers watering weeds if you want to have a beautiful gardens the flowers are moments of awakening and the weeds are moment oh yeah i'm in the story again oh my god and the self-centeredness putting attention on it even just to punish oneself it's not gonna do the job it's actually doing the opposite is rehearsing the bad habits of the mind so the more attention goes into that habitual self-center and even for the sake of learning punishing or stopping it it is still watering the weeds while the flowers the moments when when it drops off the story drops off on like jane was saying and he just when you recognize whatever the narrative runs in your mind is a story and when for a moment the recognition comes up yes it's just a story and if and a story drops off that's that's how it that's how it's often starts from that little bit more and the things that is going on in your brain the things that are happening in your brain and the things that come out of your brain and the things that are going on in your mind that's when thatlage you have a lot of better ability to control yourself it's all possible but i think that's little, little recognitions that penetrate the thick clouds of the interpretation, meaning making machine, the translating machinery that interprets everything that's happening.
Because we're attracted to our natural state. We love it, it's Sat Chit Ananda, being, knowing, loving, so we're attracted to that. I used to love what Bob used to say, it's like putting a match in a haystack. Once you know that you're not all that, you don't ever have to do anything ever again, because there's no one to do it. The match will burn away the haystack. We love stories. Sometimes when you feel like a leaf here and I go start interacting with people, it feels like it can be clunky and a bit messy. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like a vagueness, like a vagueness, vagueness or something.
I'm trying to describe. It feels clunky interacting and then after another day I sort of, I don't know. Maybe you're too relaxed. I don't know if that makes any sense. You mean after the meeting? Yeah, just like if I go to work and I was training people for the first day or so in the gym, the interactions are, which is, I'm not on the same page. Just notice. Just notice. Just notice. Let what comes out, come out naturally. You know, it might be trying to describe this, but that might resonate with something in them. They'll hear it in their particular words and does the world a good?
But yeah, the mind is a clunky thing. The mind is a clunky thing. You know, it can only work in the pairs of opposites. And I mean, it's also an incredibly amazing, you know, you know, far reaching thing, depending on your actual intellect. I mean, there's people in this room who are much smarter than me. But what I mean is when you're noticing that the way the mind operates, pleasure, pain, happy, sad, you, me, you know, you know, it is a clunky kind of thing, you know, when you first start noticing that, you know, because it is conceptual, it is operating, you know, in the pairs of opposites.
There's an intelligence coming from a different place now, isn't there? Yeah. It's not the intellect thinking. That's the intelligence. Yeah. Yeah. It's the intelligence. Well, it always has been. Yes. Yeah. So it feels like a transition or something. Yeah. Yeah. It's a watching of the machinations of the mind, if you like, from the place you never left. Coming up spontaneously. Mm. Without you having to think about it. And to you, it might sound the greatest load of crap in the world, but other people will hear it. That's what I felt here at some time. You know, geez, I'm talking to you. I'm a little bullshit here, you know.
But people hear it. Amazingly enough. Not everyone, but those that are meant to hear it will do. As they say, let those who have ears to hear, hear. Let those who have eyes to see, see. And sometimes even the energetic shift, like if you are kind of more slow and kind of less engaging, who knows, maybe in a broader scheme of things, that's exactly that level of peace is what transmits the right frequency. Mm. To people. Like, this is what life is playing out. Just trust it. Mm. You. And it's funny, sometimes I've been, in a way, I'm not really, we're just together in the same space, you know.
And sometimes I thought, gee, you're a great listener. And I've been like, I haven't been listening. I've been. Well, you know, I've, I've just, you know, I've just been like meditating in the now. I'm not really. And they go, I just love how you just listen. Yeah. And they don't, and what we've been, our culture just monologues, spills that. Like kids in schools just get monologued that, you know. So I'm just sitting there, I was probably just doing a drawing. I tend to just draw in the corner. I'm doing something. But they go, gee, you're a great listener. Yeah. A great one is when you say, like, I think like the imposter syndrome and when you think you're a fraud.
And that's such a clue. We all think we're frauds in our words mind, don't we? We all think, oh, I'm not as good an expert as my colleague thinks. Yeah. Well, I hope people. I guess that's a big clue, I think. You know, or if you say, I don't know. I, when you say, I don't know, that's so true. Yes. That's so true. It's like deep, you know, and then you say, ah, gee, I don't, I don't know. That just feels so true. Mm-hmm . Yeah. You know, that's a big clue there, I think. Yeah. You know. Yeah. Yeah. But my kid, these traumatized kids taught me that stuff.
Yeah. Because you can tell they're just completely relaxed. Oh, we just don't know. Mm-hmm . And they go, ah, it's fascinating. And also traumatized kids are often traumatized because they don't get listened to. Ah, that's right. So they would think you're gold, you know. Oh, thank you. Well, it's, it's very, it's interesting. Well, they just get talked at. Yeah. Because people are uncomfortable with the, the space. And they want to kind of help, but they don't, and they can't sit with the, as I would say, I don't know. And you realize there's no how, anyway. Mm-hmm . Yes, spontaneous. It's not, I tend to wonder if the labels.
It's very strange. But actually being able to sit with I don't know and be comfortable with it. Because look, how many people to say I don't know is the biggest, it's a shame, it's a, is, you know, they can't say it. A lot of people will lie, will improvise a nonsense, bullshit. Right. Hoping that you won't catch them and pull them out on the bullshit. Mm-hmm . But just being able to honestly admit I don't know with the sense of relaxation with it. Yeah. What a beauty. And this is really a. It's a state of no mind because the mind is the one that always have all the answers.
And if it doesn't, it improvises the answers. When there is no need to improvise bullshit, it's just sit with, ah, don't know. Well, you can tell you're kind of fabricating it. You know. Yeah. You're kind of constructing the thing. And you can tell you're kind of painting the picture in your mind, aren't you? And you're telling the. That's right. You got, but you can kind of, what, if you watch. If you watch. Yeah. But see, look around you and see how many people are actually having, have no idea. No clue. No idea that they are making stuff up. They believe that this is me relating my past experience.
I know people who are over 60 and they never noticed that there is a narrative self going in their head and commenting on everything. They never. Yes. They just don't have that skill. And it is not. We don't learn that at school to observe our own thinking our own mind. We are. We are observing others. And we learn that. Okay. If I have certain belief of value, I should be ready to die for it, to defend it, to fight for it. Look at the older movies, everyone. Oh yeah. She's fighting what she's believing for. It's just nobody questions the validity of this assumed beliefs of values or anything.
This they are all impersonal. They all just came up because of the conditioning in the past. It's like you have that skill, obviously, but really. I always like. I used to get very in my family, my family, lots of and I used to just get so angry and people used to hate me because I was like, I'm the remember in our family. I'm the one. I'm the holder of like what really happened. But that's like a crop. And it's actually not a good thing. It's a bad. So now I put you down. I can't remember either. You know. I know exactly what happened. Yeah. Yeah.
That's survival strategy. I think the big one of our problems is just about whether we wear that nothingness hits the boundaries. If we're everything, then all of a sudden I, you know, it's like I can't kind of go just go and sit on top of him or I can't like am I if I'm just fluid. Yeah. Where are the boundaries? You know, we're living in a bounded society. There is a limit. That's right. Yeah. They fluid boundaries are fluid. I think that I am. I can't say the guy's name. I am. Because when I was in Zen, Zen, Zen Buddhism, nothing, nothing emptiness, emptiness all the time.
But you can't completely go, but I so am a thing. You know, but the I am that from that kind of flips it beautifully and all of a sudden you kind of go, Oh, okay. Yeah. In the context of that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's not easy though, but it's just not easy. Like I don't know. It's good. I know. You like that imposter syndrome and the fraud and we all feel like in work where things like we think we're a fraud sometimes. Yeah. We don't want anyone to ever figure out who we really are. Yeah. But that's not only that. We don't want to figure out who we really are either.
Yeah. But that tells you. Because it's scary. And that I'm not good enough stuff around that. Yeah. Yeah. But if you think about the fraud thing, what's the truth? I think that's the truth. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Alright. What's the truth? I see that's... I don't know is good. Yeah. Because that feels so like, nice. It's right. I love it. I know. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Well, it was Socrates' final thesis, the world's greatest philosophy. Yeah. And his final point was, I know nothing. And what were you going to say, Bob? You used to say I don't know. There's a knowing that you don't know.
Yeah, yeah. Yeah. It's you are the knowing. And also that... First thing I'm going to do... Go straight away, it will be read off. Sorry. I can't help it. Sorry. It's all right. That one is not a haystack, she's got it wrong. It's a bale of cotton. When they get cotton, seen raw cotton and it's compressed into a bale, it's packed that tight, put a match in it, it'll start to smolder and you can't put it out. And that is from the time when Bob was Sailor Bob. That is from the shipping. Yeah, I've studied that stuff too. I didn't carry the bale. Yes, but that's the truth.
It's a very, very dangerous situation on the ship when there is a spontaneous combustion or there is any sort of a cigarette butt landing on that bale of cotton. That's it. That's it. There is no way to put the ship down, to put the fire down. It's just going to burn itself completely. Wow. And that's beautiful. That's what happens. Oh, it's not that beautiful beyond that ship. No, no, no, I'm talking about in relation to truth. I know, yeah. That's what happens. It burns away the bale, if you like. It burns away the foil. It burns away the foil. It burns away the foil. It burns away the foil.
It burns away the foil. It burns away the foil. It burns away the foil. The bale of bullshit thoughts that come from me and the other, yeah. It's a case of needing to bail out. And I just say the last word on finding yourself. You know, you said you forget the things that family does just to protect yourself, survival strategy. I know quite a few different survival strategies for people having that anxiety of not being enough or not being good enough. Therefore, let's focus on building a business. So we don't really ever have a plan. We don't really ever have to stop and see what's home, what's going on here.
Or let's focus on creating great stories and dramas so that I will be missed out. I, as the mystery, will be missed out because I'll be so convoluted with the intense. Or let's go and play roles. You know, I'm a great mother, I'm a great wife or whatever. It's just so many different strategies to avoid looking within because of this primordial fear. But what if there's unknown? What if there's truth? What if there are? The invisible? And what kind of? What if we find that in something that's more wonderful, that we can see is more beautiful, I endoplasmic. I'm like a geomancer. I don't even know really.
I'm a, it's like, okay, I'm like a geomancer, I'm a bit of amnesia. And I'm soarla. actually see myself as an object of awareness because I'm the subject I'm pure subjectivity so from that standpoint if I give up on trying to ever find out find out who I am or find myself and I just completely accept that okay I'm that I'm that which everything also is so I don't really have to know what I am I don't have to find myself I can just go along and see how this fluid sort of a life is just it's just dancing and and I am part of the dance part of the manifestation so I don't really have to be anything and I don't really have to know what I am to find comfort in just flowing going with the flow like the drop of water with the river just going dissolving into the flow and and just just just being just doing nothing really that's the effortless living in which we don't have to defend like you have this bucket of water trying to defend itself on the on the bank of the river and now I am you know this is my boundary and what it does it just stinks it's not alive the rest and the Sun control of singularity yeah I used to say years ago I haven't said it for a long time but put a piece of iron in the fire what happens to it gets red like fire gets hot like fire pick it up it'll burn you but yeah it's not the fire itself can't do any of those things without getting heated by the fire it was the same with us without that life essence what can we do we've taken on all the attributes of a life of living but it was not the when the fire is out yeah we did not the radiance of the heat or whatever there's a life that's in living us you know yeah anyway time thank you thank you
