Would the real Tony please stand up? Lots of echo. We don't have any false identities in here. You know the routine, it's the old spiel once again. We don't teach you anything here and we don't tell you anything. Understand that right from the start. And what we point to is you realise we can't teach you anything, we can't tell you anything. Because there is nobody. Realise that I am nobody. Well this is such a thing as a body if you really look into it. We call it a body. It's just a pattern, shape and form. When you look at this body, when you call my body, you say my coat, my house, my car.

And you know you're not the house, the car or the coat, maybe you're not the body either. What's the body made up of? It's made up of elements, air, earth, fire, water, space. Just like the elements around you. If you think you are a separate entity apart from those elements, try and separate yourself from them. Stop breathing, see how long you'd last without the air. Take the water out of your body, see how long you'd last without any water. Your body is 80% water. Take the fire, the body temperature. You can get hypothermia and die. Get off the earth if you can. Try and separate yourself from the earth.

Get out of space. Try and separate yourself from the earth. Get out of space. Try and separate yourself from the earth. When you look at it, all this body is is made up of elements. And those elements can be broken down into subatomic particles, into nothing, but what we call for somewhat of a better term, energy. This manifestation, like the Buddhists tell you, it's a vibrating pattern of energy. It's a phenomenal manifestation. And your definition of it is not a phenomenon. Phenomenon is that which appears to be. It only appears or seemingly is so. And they say it's a transient manifestation. It's constantly changing. When you look out there in nature, you'll see it's constantly changing.

Look at that body and see if it's the same body you had last week or last year. And see if it's the same body you had a few moments ago. When you investigate, you'll realize that there's thousands of cells dying in that body right now and being replaced. And if they're fused with that intelligence, they don't know what to do. A liver cell's not going to come up as a brain cell. Or a skin cell's not going to come up as a liver cell or a heart cell. They're all unique patterns of that intelligence energy. And when they come together, they form this thing we call the body.

And I hear this thing called mind. Again, like house, car and goat, when you look at it, you call it, you see it's my mind. My mind is, we translate that to my self. So we think we are this separate self or this persona. But they tell you in the scriptures that there's only one self. The self is not many. That's one. But we've taken the idea it's my self, a personal self. Where does that word person come from? It comes from persona. The mask in ancient languages has been added to the masks, meaning we've got a conceptual image, an image made of concepts. We've added on to this vibrating pattern of energy which we call my body.

And we write it to the idea of a separate entity, this persona, me. And are you really that body, mind, entity we believe ourselves to be? If you've never looked into this stuff, you'll say I began at birth. But can anyone in this room actually remember your birth? You can't. So you can't say you began at birth because you didn't know anything about it. Look at it a bit further, when did you begin? And you realise you began about two, two and a half, somewhere within that range. It might have been earlier, it might have been later. Some of you may have been seemingly smarter than others and will pick it up sooner or later.

And it began when you learned. And it began when you learned. When you acquired words. When you acquired words. It doesn't tell you in the Bible, in the beginning it was the Word. The Word was with God and the Word was God. That's all that God is, is a word, a label we put on the words. Or the label, the words we put on. This thing we believe or call God, the higher power. Or the greater power, or the supreme being. Is there such a thing? When you look at it, you call it a supreme being, we call ourselves human beings. What happens if you take that label supreme off and take the label human off?

And separate the beingness in this room without a label? Then you realise that's being the chair, that's being the carpet, that's being the mirror, that's being the wall. That's being you, it's being me, it's being the trees outside, the space. Everything is that pure. Pure beingness. Which we put labels on. So that's when we began with the Word. And realised that every word you've ever spoken, or ever likely to speak, has been learnt. Been picked up. Along the way. And you can be learning new words to this day. Look in your dictionary, there's many words you don't know. People have made a dictionary about them.

And the words, I'm forgetting a lot of the words. Words are coming and going. And so when you look at that and realise that the word's not the thing. Take the word water. Can you drink the word? Can you swim in the word? Can you drown in the word? You can't. You can't wash yourself with anything. The word fire, does it burn your mouth? Can you heat yourself with it? Can you cook with it? You can't. The word I or me, is that what you really are? Like without that thought, I or me, do you think you're a human being? No. Why? Why or me do you disappear?

You know, if you were that thought up word, I, and we've added on to that word, events, experiences, conditioning, I'm Bob, the Australian, the good fella, all based on past events, conditioning. If we were that conceptual image, you know, you'd be frightened of losing it. You wouldn't lose sight of it. Yet you'd gladly give it up every night when you go to sleep. The words are gone. And you might start to dream. Sometimes you dream of a night. When you dream, what do you do? Another seemingly world is formed in that dream. You can be in the mountains, you can be in the hills, you can be in the city, or the country, or in the house where you live.

Taking all sorts of activities, doing all sorts of things in that dream. When you wake up and have a look at it, how many words came out of your mouth when you were asleep? You realise none. How many activities was that body doing? That body hadn't moved off the bed. But all sorts of these activities were taking place in that dream. And you believe that I was doing it. I, the me. Hi Barbara, how are you? I had a friend offer to drive me. A friend offered me. Don. Don offered to drive me. Ah, good. Will you grab that chair and bring it over here for Barbara to sit in?

That's right, sit here. Nice to see you. Nice to see you. Thank you very much. We were talking about the word, the word is not the realm. That's another way I put it. I'm not speaking to anybody. I'm not speaking to any mind. I'm not speaking to that body. speaking of that body, mind, identity, you believe yourself to be that persona who might take offence at some of the things I say, if they think I'm referring to them, or might like it or might not. I'm talking to that I am, that I am, to that sense of presence, that sense of presence through which the knowing that you are and knowing that you can say I am expresses.

Just to this, nothing else. To that sense of presence, the presence of awareness is with everyone right now. Because is anyone in this room unaware? No, you know, I'm not unaware, so if you're not unaware, you must be aware. So that's what this mouthing off of words is going all about. It's not me speaking to anyone. The sounds are coming out, and they can express or appear as words we've learned. But what's the sound? The sound is nothing but a vibration. It's a vibration of energy. It's that same life energy that's manifesting, patterning, shaping and forming this universe, this cosmos, whatever. And that's why they say it's non-dual.

It's one without a second. It's the totality. And here we are sitting here until we look at this and understand it, believing ourselves to be these separate entities that have got to try and become something. Reading this book, doing this, learning this, acquiring that, we will become something. And don't you realise that becoming, you've moved away from being and the idea of becoming. Becoming implies a future time. And when you investigate time, you realise this is just another concept we've taken on. There's no such thing as time. If you ask yourself, you'll say to me, I was living in the past. I'll say, if you think you're living in the past, go back and live a moment ago.

That's the past. Go back and live last week or last year. You can't live in the past. You can't live in the past. You can't live in the past. You can't realise you can't live in the past. You can remember it. You can recall it. And the only actuality you're giving it when you're recalling it is what you're giving it right now. Because the same with the future. You can anticipate and imagine the future. But you can't live a moment in the future. So the anticipation, the imagination, and the recalling, remembering or reminding or recalling, are brought into this immediacy that's now. When does now begin?

Try and grasp now. You'll say, well, it's beginning right now. And even as you're saying that, you realise it's ending. And that it's beginning again. So there's no duration to it whatsoever. That's all that time is a duration. It has a beginning and an end. That's where people get the idea of what eternity is. Eternity ends. It's some beginning a couple of million light years away. Anything that has a beginning will have an ending. But the spontaneous moment is eternity. It's beginningless and endless. And that which is patterning and expressing through it, the life essence is expressing through all these patterns, is that eternal life.

Now that is the constant. You can't give it any shape. You can't give it any form. Any identity whatsoever. But it ceases to express through that pattern. That pattern breaks down. There's anything lost or anything gained. That's why they call it the absolute or the great perfection. And they tell you that in Buddhism, the great perfection is non-conceptual awareness. Awareness without any of these concepts. They tell you in Hinduism, it's chattisiddha. It's ananda, nama, rupa. Satchitananda is existence, consciousness, bliss. They call it bliss or loving to be. And the nama, rupa are the name and form. Now the nama, rupa, the name and form are maya.

They're illusions. They're like these transient patterns, shapes and forms which appear in the manifestation. But the existence, consciousness, bliss, satchitananda, is the actuality. Anyone who is not existing right now, no, you must realise, no, I'm not existing. I must be existing. Anyone who's not conscious right now, you realise, no, I'm not unconscious, so I must be conscious. Anyone who's not happy to be right now, and you're all happy to be. If the end was going to happen right now, you wouldn't be too pleased about it, would you? But you're happy to be right now. So you are that satchitananda. And the nama, rupa, which it's expressing through, is the name and form we're given.

And that's shape and form. That's what the nama is, the name, and the pattern is the form. So the pattern, shape and form are the maya, are the illusion. And you realise that when you realise that this body is transient, it's constantly changing, there are thousands of cells dying out right now in this moment. And each one of those cells, they're suffused with that life force, that intelligence energy. And if you can't say you were born because you don't remember your birth, have a look back and say, when did you begin? Well, go back as far as your father and your mother. Those two patterns you call your father and your mother, that life essence, they're suffusing in those patterns.

In the pattern called the prana, the prana, he's breathing, the food he's eating. And the life essence enabled in that pattern, a little microscopic particle called the sperm to form. You can't see it with your naked eye. That sperm was suffused with intelligence energy, the activity of knowing. It was knowing what to do. The same in your mother, in that life essence you call your mother, again through the prana and that chi and the energy and the food eaten. But the life expressing through it, that life essence is enabled to express in that pattern another microscopic particle called an egg or an ovum to form.

That ovum was suffused with intelligence, it knew what to do. It attached itself to all the uterus. It wasn't floating around accidentally and the sperm knew what to do, it swam to the ovum. Put it under a microscope and you'll see it's not just a blob of oil, it has the capacity of swimming, moving around. And the amazing intelligence in it knew where to swim to. To swim to the ovum and what to do, to penetrate the ovum. When those two came together, what happened? The life essence, the intelligence, the energy, or the godliness if you like to call it that even, doubled that cell, redoubled it and formed the little fetus, the little embryo began to form.

What were you doing about it then? If you think you are this believed in separate entity that was running the show on your own. Could you say, well I'm starting to grow a finger or a brain? You didn't have those things when your little fetus was forming. But later on when you came out where you were born, did you say then I'm going to start breathing? You didn't. The innate intelligence, the life essence knew what to do. And you didn't have to learn to suckle, you pass it on to the nipple and suckle. The innate intelligence in that little baby knew what to do. It's lived you and grown you ever since then.

And what were you doing about any of that as a person? The functioning didn't come around. The little child was functioning, the little baby was functioning. It was hearing, seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, smelling. If it wanted something it would cry. It didn't know when he wants or I want this particularly. But the urge in that body would be hunger or fear or whatever. All the sensations were going on but it had no words to describe them. At the age of two, two and a half when they started to learn words, what happened? Parents fussing around him and learnt words. They said, you little Johnny, you're a good little boy, you're a nice kid.

Don't do this or do that. And he started to learn or require all these words. And there you must have realised that every word you've ever spoken or ever likely to speak has been learnt. You were not born with any words. And that's, you can understand that scriptural statement now, in the beginning was the word. Because you didn't know anything about your beginning until I started to learn words. And from then on we've acquired words and language and taken the word to be the thing without questioning them. Because our parents, schools, the schools, the society and everybody around us told us that. And capacity of reasoning started at about two to one and a half.

And that's the capacity these human beings have, which is more developed than what it is in other animals and birds and insects. But they have other capacities which are more developed than our capacity of reasoning. With learning words, learning words. I am Bob, that's what they call me. I'm an Australian and I'm a good fella. I'm not so good, I'm unhappy or I'm depressed or I'm fearful. All these concepts are added on that word because you can't do much with the word, I. You can't do much with it at all. So we give it, seemingly give it this pattern, shape and form and something to relate to.

But that is a conceptual image, we don't realise that it's a dead image. It's based on past events, experiences and conditioning. It's not the image you're giving it in the moment. You're giving it the image of what happened to you yesterday or last week or last year and seemingly continuing now. So we're constantly relating to a dead image. And the dead image, I can't keep up with life. Like you pull a bucket of water out of the river and sit it on the bank, what happens to it? It becomes stagnant. What happened to the river? The river is continually flowing. It might come to places where it's seemingly very, almost still and calm.

It might come through forests or sandy banks or down gorges, waterfalls, flowing merrily along until it reaches the ocean and goes back into where it came from in the first place, water in the ocean and that intelligence energy. The two gases coming together, hydrogen and oxygen. But we've taken on this dead image and we're relating to this dead image. Hey, how you doing? So how does that work? See for yourself. Something comes up and I like it. How do you know? Well, I've had this event previously and it's a good event and I like it. And we want to keep all the nice and happy events we've had and we don't want them to go.

We don't want to be unhappy and fearful of things. We don't want them to go. What do we do? Trying to keep it there, we resist it. Resist it from going. Try to keep it. Try to hang on to it. Not realizing that it's transient. No matter how much you love it, how much you want to keep it there, whatever you try to do, they're going to move on. And isn't that happening in your life? People die on you. People move away. People there and not only people, jobs and everything else is constantly changing. Where you live, where you reside. All the things and you're constantly changing your own ideas and concepts and images.

It's all transient. We don't want it to go and resist it. But don't you realize that any resistance you are in, you are in conflict. Resistance is conflict. And conflict makes you anxious, fearful, unhappy, depressed, guilty, jealous, envy. Conflict or uneasiness is disease. Being not at ease is disease. That's what's going on with us all the time. Resistance, conflict, anxiety. And disease. Something comes up I do like. And again, the things we like we want to keep on them. We want to keep them there forever. Not realizing they're transient. So what do we do? Something we don't like, we try to force it out. Get rid of it.

Again, resistance. Conflict and disease. So this conceptual image that we've formed, which we call it the reference point, the self-center or the ego. See, it's three terms into one thing. The ego, a reference point, becomes something that we're relating to all the time. We're relating to this conceptual image, me. I like it, I don't like it, it's good, it's bad, it's pleasant, it's painful, it's harsh. And as I pointed out, it's a dead image. We're relating to a dead image. No wonder we're constantly in the fear, the anxiety, the jealousy, the envy, the stress, the unhappiness. Periods have come where everything is well, being well, and it's happening, happening, going on.

How long do they last? Like everything, they're seemingly transient, they're seemingly changed. But everything is related to this image, and that's all our problems are and ever will be. Relativity. Relativity is dualism. Relativity or relationship is dualism. All our problems are problems of relationship. And we sort that one out, we think it's a male-female relationship, but that's the only relationship we've got. But it's relative to our work, relative to our... Relative to this, relative to that, relative... It's relative relating to everything. We're taking a dualistic approach to everything. Not saying it's non-duality, one without a second. That is non-duality. So we need to investigate that.

Well, you might want to investigate it, but if some of this is resonating with you, you might see, if you want to get out of all the psychological turmoil we get in, then you might have been doing all sorts of... psychology and things like that to try and get out of psychiatry and things like that. It's helped to a certain extent. Because we're not recognising the cause, it's not helping us too much. We just keep relating to the cause. But when you look and recognise the cause itself is a fiction. And that's all that so-called karma is. Cause and effect. What happens if you ask yourself the question, can there be an effect if I'm not relating to a cause?

You have a look at that and you say, no, I can't relate to it, because there's nothing I can relate to. Then wouldn't you have been impure if you had a look and see what this cause is that's causing all these problems. See if this has caused me, or I, the conceptual image I've got about myself is real. And to see how that's troubled all that relativity is going on, what problems it causes, and as Shakespeare told you years ago, there's nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so. Shakespeare, uh, the Zaga did tell you, nothing can trouble you except your own imagination.

Break a word imagination down to image in. Imagine. Image in. And realise that's all we're doing. We're creating mental images, concepts about this, that, and that's all a concept is. A mental construct or a mental image. Creating mental images about this, that, and the other, as good, as bad, as good, and so we get lost. And the seeming cause, me. And the effects are sure to follow. The fear, the angst, the anxiety, the distress, the guilt, the shame, remorse, all these things about the followings related to the cause. So wouldn't it be imperative that I have a look at this cause, me, and see if it is a fiction or not?

Investigate it. Have a look. We ask you to look along those lines and you'll see for yourself. That's what the concept of it is. Everybody in this room is seeing. Everybody in this room is hearing. Isn't that a fact? When you open your eyes this morning, you have to say, now I've started seeing. The seeing was there. But then the vibrating thoughts started to come in. And you say, I see. When you open your eyes this morning, or might have been before that day, you woke up, the hearing was there. And the thought comes up and translates, I hear. So the seeing and the hearing, but it's not a pure seeing or hearing right now.

Because when we've built this conceptual image, this eye to it, we've added onto eye and bottomed on this, that, that, the conceptual image, now we think, so as they say, I see, it's me, Bob, a separate entity of the seeing. It's me, Bob, that's hearing. So it's not pure seeing or hearing anymore. We've got this conceptual image on it. And it's distorted. But ask yourself this. You're seeing and hearing are happening. But ask yourself this question and see if this entity is real. Ask yourself this. Does my eye tell me I see? Well, my eye is not saying, look at this, Bob. Look at that.

That's good. That's bad. My eye can see. I can't say anything at all. Can yours? But it is the instrument through which the seeing is happening. There was no seeing there. Nothing could be seen. So it's the instrument which is translated. So the same with the hearing. My ear is not saying, listen to this or listen to that. It's the instrument through which the hearing is happening. It's translated by the thought, I hear. And it's not a pure hearing because of that thought, I hear, which is based on the past. And that's an experience of that image. Well, question then. Can the thought I see actually see?

Close your eyes and look around the room and see if you can see any of the things in the room with your eyes closed. You can't see with the thought. You can see the darkness behind your lens, but you can't see any of the things in the room without the thought. With the thought, I see, can't see. Same with the thought, I hear. Look off your ears and see what you can hear with the thought. So the thought, I hear, can't hear. Anybody who is unaware right now, you realise, no, I'm not unaware. I'm not non-existing. I am existing. I am not unaware. If I'm not unaware, you must be aware.

So the thought, I am aware or I am conscious is not your awareness or consciousness. The thought, I choose. We think we choose our thoughts. But if you could choose your thoughts, would you ever choose to be unhappy, miserable, angry or fearful? You wouldn't. Those things. So you see this thought up entity, this ego, hasn't got any power or any independent nature. It can't stand those things. It can't do any of these things. When I say it's got no independent nature, take the life essence out of that body. How many thoughts has a corpse got? Yet you've got the organs there. You've got the eyes, the ears, the heart, the lungs, the liver and all these organs in your body.

But without that life essence, you can't see, hear, taste, touch or smell or think anything. Just like your computer's got all that information in it, what can you get out of the computer if the power's not turned on? So that life essence or power is the one power. The omnipotent power. The omnipotent power. The omniscient. The omnipresent power. Three aspects of the one thing. And that one essence or intelligence entity, if you like to call it God, you can call it God. But I don't call it God because we all come from different traditions. Some of you can be agnostic, some of you can be atheist, some of you can be Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists or whatever other religions are going on.

But I start talking about God or thinking about God or be related to whatever conceptual image I've been brought up to believe is real. And take up that conceptual image and relate it now to a conceptual image. It tells you in the Bible, thou not make unto thyself any graven images. We all take that, they're talking about stone idols and statues where engraved all worship God. They're not talking about that at all. In my book, they might be to others. In my book, they're talking about the images we engrave in our minds, in our heads. It's me, Bob, the separate entity, the individual, the person that's unhappy, that's fearful, that's anxious.

They're all images engraved in your skull, in the thoughts. Not in your skull, but in the thinking. All based on thinking. So they realise that a separate entity can't see, can't hear, can't taste, can't do anything at all of itself. They realise it's that one essence, the life essence that's doing everything. And I say, have a look and say, when I'm talking about intelligence, that's just a label too, that's not it. It's just like the word God is put on it, that's just another label we put on it. When I'm talking about intelligence, I'm not talking about your intellects. Because there are different degrees of intellect in this room.

Some of you are a lot smarter than me, some of you mightn't be quite so smart, I don't know who. There won't be many. I'm talking about intelligence. Look out there in nature. You'll see the way that nature is functioning. It might look very ordinary and everyday to you now, but realise what's going on out there. Earth's rolling around the sun, seasons coming and going, tides coming in and out. All sorts of things happening in nature. Trees going, flowers blooming, you know, life is longer. Being born, people dying, the whole manifestation is a universal manifest of nature. And the way it's manifesting is an intelligent way.

The form, the pattern and shape and form of a human being, the pattern and shape and form of a tree, a star, a planet, a comet. All these things imply it's a fuse with a wondrous intelligence. And it's also vibrating. That's all it is, is that one essence vibrating in the different pattern, shapes and forms. And there is nothing static about any of it. It is constantly transient, just like your body is transient. There are thousands of cells doing it right now. What do you know about that? And being replaced. What do you know about that? Nothing. To making you breathe. What do you know about making any effort to take your next breath?

Or to expand and contract your heart? A life essence is functioning, patting, taping through you. The same as it is with everything else in this manifestation. Now, could there be a recognising or recognition of the universe? A recognition of anything that's going on? If it was there in its totality, which would be that space-like emptiness of space and the stillness of the silence, if it didn't vibrate, then the pattern would change. So it's patting, vibrating and forming as the insect, as the flower, as the tree, as everything else in this manifestation, as these human bodies that have the capacity of reasoning to the extent that we can understand certain amount of this stuff.

So this body you have is a useful instrument. But it's a self-destructive instrument also. Because it's a vibration like everything else and it vibrates dualistically. Have a look at your mind and see the way it functions. You'll see it's always functioning dualistically. It's either good or bad, pleasant or painful, happy, sad, loving, hating, positive, negative, or whatever other way you want to see it. It's vibrating dualistically in the pairs of opposites. And the boundaries we put upon it are the word. If you didn't have any words, what boundaries could you put on it? A cat's got no words, but it's got sounds, vibrations going through it.

And the different sounds would be a meow or this can be, you know, it's wanting food or something like that, or it's calling another cat or it's doing something or other. And the same with the birds and other animals. Through sounds. We've made, we've gone a little bit further with the intelligence. We've formed these sounds into words, concepts, ideas, images, mental images. And taken them to be real. And so when they're in their dualistic pattern, they can be self-destructive. Because that same I or me, the conceptual image that tells me I'm fearful or a mangler, or a mangling anxious, or I'm not good enough, or I can't do this, puts the vibrating opposites on it.

We take belief to be real and causes all our suffering because of that. But if you look at that and investigate the word and see the word is not real and see that it's all broken down, and ask yourself the simple question, what's wrong with right now if I don't think about it? And what would you have to do to do that? You'd have to try and have to look prior to the thought or beyond the thought. And that's the way to see what that thought is. Thought is sound, a word. And if you think I'm going to pause the thought, that'll be another thought.

And you couldn't do it. And you say, well I shall let that thought go, and let it go, that's another thought. I'll stop, that's another thought. If you don't go there, realise that every thought, everything you do will bring up another thought, don't go there. Don't bother. If it comes up, don't give it any meaning or anything at all. And it's just another appearance in the manifestation. And then you get a taste of that stillness. And there again, what do we do? We try and describe the stillness, the energy, or the awareness, put concepts or words on it. Instead of leaving everything as it is.

As is means it's unaltered, unmodified, uncorrected. No comparison. No partiality or no preference. Just leave everything as it is. And then you'll notice, just like the sun is rolling around the earth, the seasons are coming and going, the tides are coming and going. The sun is not using any words. Or the earth that's rolling around is not using any words. Or the space it's appearing in is not using any words. Or the planets or stars are not using any words. They're not thinking. But everything's perfectly resolved in the unborn, like Banke told you. He called it the unborn mind. The mind that wasn't born or comes about by thought.

You haven't got that on your own. So that's basically what we're pointing out. And there's other people down this that can tell you about it. I don't know. And if you've still got questions or doubts, don't hesitate to bring them up. Find out for yourself. Because... All this, the head is all self-centred, isn't it? Yeah. Because there's no self-centred. So there's no self-centred. There's only those five senses? Yeah. So that's all there is? Just is. Leave them wide open. We're not focused on the one to the exclusion of the others. Right. Sometimes I get sick of that, living in the moment. I'm just being honest.

But that's my head again, isn't it? Yeah. Can you get out of it? I suppose I can. Can you? No. Try. Oh, OK. Get out of the... Moment. No, I can't get out of the moment. No. So I've just got to be persistent with it. See who gets sick of it. If you're not even persistent, it'll be there whether you're persistent or not. Right. Just relax. Yeah. OK. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Thanks. Yeah. Thanks. Thanks. But when you see you get sick of it, you're trying to grasp all of the concept. Put some word on it. Oh, OK.

I've done something to it. Yeah. Yeah. Instead of living in the moment. Yeah. That's just the way I'm trying to get in again. Yeah. That's the test. Now, just another thing, Bob. What about emotions in SOR? Is that the same thing? Yeah. Thought, feeling. That's the head as well? Thought, feeling and emotion are just vibrating patterns of energy. Sensations. Sensations and feelings are just vibrations. Right. When sensations come up, which we call feeling or thought, sensations or feelings come up, but we label them anger, fear, depression and all this, we put the label on them. Oh, we put the label on it, yeah. And emotion is just a vibration, isn't it?

Emotion. So the me is the self-centred and the ego is the self-centred, which is just, you know, false. It doesn't tell you in the book. No. We must be rid of this ego, self-centred, selfishness, self-centred, self-will is the problem. That we think is the problem. And it says above all we must be rid of this selfishness, that's the ego, or we must or it kills us. So if I live in the moment before... Try and get out of it again. Say, I am living in the moment, I am now. Oh, okay. Yeah. Just one more question. If I write down, you know, all the self-centred stuff I've got, would that be any good or not?

Or I'm still... and just say, okay, that's the ego, or the self-centred, that's me, and then say, okay, I know what that is, so all I've got to do is live in the moment. Yeah, so if you write it down, and you haven't let it go, it comes up again. And you know... And you know... You've got to do it then and write it down again when you think about it. Okay, so it's just basically just saying, okay, just live in the moment. Yeah. That's it. Oh, that's good to get it off my chest. Yeah, good. It's good. It's so simple, isn't it? It's not...

It's simple, but then I'm going to say it's not... but it's hard, but that's my head again. Yeah. You've got to take it right through. Yes. See the simplicity of it and take that through the... Yes. Even the simplicity goes. Yes. So ego, me, self-centred, all based on the one thing, aren't they? Yeah. Okay, that's good to know. Thanks, Bob. I've read a lot of that. Translated through the mind is I. Right. And what's I, basically? That's part of me too. I mean, that's part of the self-centred. Isn't it basically a sound? That's where we came from originally, sound, a vibration, a memory, a measure?

Sound, I, yeah. Yeah. Sound seemingly breaks the silence. Sound breaks the silence. It can't break it when it appears in silence, disappears back into the... Right. I've heard a lot about awareness, awareness, awareness. And listening to the still small voice inside, is that part of... Yeah, what's that? Who's hearing that? Awareness. Yes, Leewa. So being aware, being awake. See, awareness or awareness, that's just a label anyway. Yes. But it's something you can't negate. Another name for beingness. You know? Beingness. Oh, yeah. Beingness, like, unfolds. It expresses as consciousness. And you are that. That's the pattern that's vibrating and expressing it. Oh, right. Well, it expresses through you.

Yeah. The innate intelligence, isn't it? Or, if you like, you use it, God, godliness. Expressing yourself as you. Yeah. And everything else. So you're not isolated or alone and expressing as every, the minutest thing. The great perfection, as I say in Buddhism, is non-conceptual awareness. What can you add to the perfect? Nothing. It wouldn't be perfect, even. What can you take away from it? Nothing. What other terms they call the absolute? What can you add to the absolute? Nothing. What can you take away from it? Nothing. It wouldn't be absolute. So you are the absolute right now. Thinking. Oh, I shouldn't say that. I don't think that.

You there doing the thinking. No. So it doesn't matter if there's thought or there's not thought. No. Yeah? It's just the observation of it. Yeah. It's just the observation of it. Yeah. Or the awareness of it. Oh, that's cool. You're just aware of it. You're just aware of it. Yeah. And anything that you can be aware of can't be you. And anything I'm aware of. Can't be you. How could it possibly be? You're aware of that? Mm-hmm. Yeah? Is that you? Yeah. Why not? Because it just is. You're over there, eh? Yes. Aware of this over here. Yes. Yeah. So it's objective. Objective. Yeah? Or an object, if you like.

Right. Thoughts are the same. You can witness them. A feeling is the same. You can witness them. The body is the same. You witness it. Everything out here, you witness it. Yeah. So it can't actually be you. No. It's the witnessing. It's the witnessing. Yeah. And you are that. Mm-hmm. And just to what you were saying before, about writing things down. Right. You know, you can either write them down or not. But if they're bothering you, you can write them down, and you're witnessing what's being written down. Right. Right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's the point. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You can write them down. Right. Right? So you're not that. No, I'm not that. Okay, I got you. Yeah. I understand. And even better, if you don't take credit for the writing. Yeah. You know, like writing things happens same way as the birds are singing. It happens. They don't do it. And now, if you are moved to do the writing, that is the doing, that you are not the author of. That's right. Yeah, that's right. It's just like you don't do your digestion, you don't do your thinking, you don't grow your hair, you don't do the writing, body does it. and you are the witnessing of body doing its thing.

Yes, that makes it simple, doesn't it? Yes. It really is. It is too simple for the mind. It's so simple we miss it. And it's so obvious too that we miss it. Even if one can really see that anything that you can be aware of implies that there's a subject that is aware of. It just does. You're aware of me sitting here, that's because there's a subject there. You perceive me as an object here. But the exact same thing applies to thoughts, feelings, emotions. You're aware of all that too. Just observe it. Leave it be. Like, totally leave it be. And you're not any of that.

Because if you were any of that, you'd stop it. You absolutely would. I'm talking about sometimes when we ruminate, all sorts of thoughts going on in our head and we get tormented by whatever it may be going on in our head. Try stopping that. Like really. Switch it off and go fishing for a couple of weeks. After a couple of weeks, come back. I swear to you, you switch it back on and it'll all be there again. So you won't be missing anything. But the reality is, you can't switch it off. Because it's not you doing it. It's not. Free will. We'll walk around thinking that we've got free will.

Really? Come on. Switch it off. I don't want to feel like this anymore, so I'm just not going to. Why? Because I've got free will. Sir, just on that. I know at the start I've missed this basic thing. But a lot of thoughts come up indiscriminately. Yeah. Yeah, the cheaters and me. Yeah. But just for example, I could start, decide to think about cars, for example. I'm going to start thinking about cars. So I've consciously made a decision to think about cars. So what has generated that. Do you know what I mean? I do. Instigated that. Yes I do. And all I could say to that is, not you.

Okay. What is it then? Find out. Find out. But it's not. See the problem is. We go from, we come into this and a lot of us are wearing our thoughts so closely to us. It's so close, a bit like the hand. If it's that close, you can't see it and you don't even really know what it is. It's not until you start to get a bit of distance from it that you go, oh, it's a hand. The same thing applies to all the thoughts that go on in our head. Until we start to get a bit of distance from it, we are whatever it is that goes on in our head.

We wear it like a skin. It's more the indiscriminate stuff that comes up versus, okay, I want to consciously think about this particular topic. So try not to think about this particular topic. I don't have to. Well, you can't. It will just arise. All of it just arises. Not. Not one skerrick of it is there implying that there's a you there that's now deciding, okay, now I'm going to think this. Even that just comes up. But the problem is another thought steps in and takes credit for it. Oh, it's me that did that. But again, that's also just another thought. So it's about trying to sit back and witness all of it.

The whole show. And just see, like really, really see. For yourself, whether there actually is somebody here choosing to do anything. Can you say sometimes, oh, I'm thinking of this, this, this. I must have an attachment to that. Do you? Is that? That's also just another thought. Just another thought. It is. Okay. Yeah. But the primary problem is that we believe that there's a self-centre here. We believe that there's a me here. Yep. That's right. That's either, that's either, which is either, you know, being perceived to be attaching itself to something or letting it go. Yep. Or I've now arrived at this place. And I a better person because I've dealt with all the, it's just the whole thing is a story.

The whole thing is a story. The whole thing is a story. So the idea is to literally, literally go looking for that supposed entity. Yeah. And what is it? Does the me actually have substance? Is it a thing? Like what the hell is it? What really, what is it? Where does it reside? Where exactly is the centre of this me? We talk about being self-centred. Where's that centre? Like it, and literally, if you go looking for it, you can't find it. That's but it's one thing to be told that. It's a thing. It's a thing. It's a thing. It's a thing. It's a thing. It's a thing.

It's another thing altogether when you go looking for yourself and you have to go looking for yourself because if you don't, you'll just grab ahold of this, pop it in there and it'll just be another concept. But we keep piling in there. What I find is that when like, awareness comes of the body or a feeling or a thought, then the I arrives at the same time. Yeah. So it's not a feeling. I'm feeling it then so like this is like the witness so the witnesses like me like the body looking at me so then it's dualistic so it becomes dualistic when I feel an emotion or something like that and I'm witnessing it I'm aware of it there's like the emotion in there a witness or the awareness it becomes it become it seems to become jeweled if you don't fully abide in presence presence and awareness is not split it's not dualistic at all just just like space all around us it's space is not split it's not dualistic this isn't space is just it's one yeah you can see the naming and claiming yes like you said you can see the me like you can see even though you know there's no me you can see the naming and claiming coming in having a story about it but it's it's witnessing it so that's just a story yeah it's about what's it what I was just saying something to say see the thought feeling emotion one and the same thing just like steam water and ice the three aspects of h2o aren't they so so when you're in a thought feeling emotion we're all based on the thought thoughts very subtle and then you think before you might even realize the thing then the sad feeling will come up so it's a sad thought coming up the sad feeling will come up which you'll label you had it before you'll know it was sad then the tears will come just didn't fix it long enough so it's one and the same thing so it's all thought based there's a small me is very confused it's like the bucket that's stagnant and everything's keeps moving the rivers moving yeah so the confusions here and that the feeling comes up you know I don't know there's a feeling there but without labeling it like it's there's this something going on I don't know so there's a not knowing going on it's what kind of a confusion which then seems to have some sort of energy with it some sort of feeling whatever that is but awareness is there the primordial split the primordial the first split is I yeah then what you're just describing yeah is everything that the eyes attached itself to so you're still which is okay by the way but you're still delving in the content delving in the story delving in the ideas that are coming up and then you're getting a little bit confused there because you're being affected by it.

What's actually happening is you're mistaking the me for that awareness. So there's still an idea that it's me here that's aware of all this stuff, but that me is the I. It's that first primordial split. That's what you need to go looking for. The I, not the content, not the story. He said the small me comes up. How many me's are there? See that the me is... The me, the whole idea is me is just another term for I or me. It's a fiction. See it all. So as soon as that comes up, you're in the story again. And you won't find the answer in the mind.

You know that. I know that. I think you know that. The me itself is the story. Yeah. The I. The I. The I is the... That's the... Because it all starts with I. It starts, the split starts with I. I feel this. The I, yeah, then feels something. Straight away, there's your two. That's the split. But it comes from the I. So what you're actually looking for is that I. Because... And until we see that for what it actually is. We believe the I has substance. It is a thing. And it's not. It's not. So this morning, when I've been up since 4.30 from a dream, and then just, as I said to you before, just all these sort of things just fell into place, I had nothing to do with that.

I didn't create that dream. I didn't wake up from the dream. I didn't make sense of the dream, nor did I have the clarity that came from the dream. It just all happened. That's right. Yes. Witness it. Yeah. Witnessing. Don't take any ownership of it. Yeah. Or any pride in it, or... No, no. And that's what hasn't happened today. And I know you're not. There was, in fact, laughter. Yeah. That, wow, this is all just... I have nothing to do with this. So it's kind of like an expansion of awareness. That's the best way. You can probably describe it. We kind of come into this dull, can't see much.

All our thoughts and feelings are here. So we become them, you know. And then as we're here, the awareness starts to grow. And as the awareness starts to grow, we start to get a little bit of distance from the thoughts, the feelings, like everything. And what creates that distance, if you like, is the awareness that grows, that expands. If you like. Yeah. And at some point, you become far more interested in that awareness and that presence and that livingness than you will in a thought, a feeling, or whatever. That's when you... 180 degrees. Yeah, yeah. That's what I call it. When you see the lights.

Yeah. See, up until that 180 degree turn, what we're becoming fully aware of is what we're not. Yeah. We're focusing on the wrong thing. Well, but it's important. You have to do that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's so important to do that. Otherwise, you know... But that's by default. Yes. Yes, it is. By default, but then it's a matter of just turning it around. The thing is, you can't put the cart before the horse. Yeah. You've got to see what's not before you can see what is. And it's not me wanting to see it. It's just seeing what it is. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's the same as looking at...

looking at... writing down things and seeing, what you're not. That's important. Yeah, yeah, it's whatever. I don't care what anyone says. Yeah, yeah, it's whatever. It's very important. It's whatever it is that's happening is totally okay. Yeah, yeah, whatever it is that's happening is totally okay. Totally okay. Yeah, that was important. Yeah. That's good. Another thing I would just add, because that may actually apply to everything. When, Adrian, you were saying that, I choose to consciously think a thought about... I choose to think about cars or something, or take up a conscious thought. That's a really good invitation to see, how are you doing it?

If you are doing it, you're deciding to think about cars, how did you do that? Because perhaps you know something we don't, and maybe you could teach us. If you would actually investigate, how did you choose that particular thought? How that process happened? Beautiful. It'll just be really, really curious. It's not to tell you, no, no, no, this is all wrong. Yeah. It's just to assume that, yes, this is exactly how it happens. You have conscious choice or decision of free will to choose the next thought. And yes, that's the truth. Now let's see, how is it happening? Just take a little tiny steps back and see.

Maybe by watching the whole process, you will completely lose all the doubts to the doership and the free will of it. It's a doership, I think, isn't it? Yes. Yes, because it does feel this way. Of course, it feels like I'm speaking now, like there is some location who is speaking. But is it really what is happening? If I really honestly, very, very closely look, how am I doing it? Do I really know how do I use my voice box? Do I really know how to pump the air to create sounds? Do I really know how to dig out words that I got in my brain that were maybe stored somewhere in the memory?

Yes. Yes. Do I really know any of it, how it happens? I don't. But if I really look back honestly, not to dispel the lie, but to find out the truth, because people are telling you, no, no, you don't have choice, you don't have free will. Why would you believe them? Don't believe anyone. This is really not about having a better system of beliefs. Because it feels great. Okay, I don't have choices. I don't have free will. I'm not responsible for any fuck-ups that I've done throughout my life, for hurting people or anything, yeah cool, that feels great. So I believe this because it makes me feel better.

It's not about believing. Is it still assuming that I'm choosing to make a boy think about a topic? Exactly. Seeing that. What Kat's saying is take a step back from that and see your supposed self that goes into the creation of that thought. Now I'm going to build, literally, now I'm going to build this thought and then project it up. Where are you? Where are you located whereby you're creating and putting together that thought? Where are you? Like really? I've done that and I understand exactly what you're saying. When you have a thought, when you come back a few seconds before the thought, you can't say that you chose it.

No, it's all spontaneous. It's all spontaneous. It's part of that emanation. It's just like sounds. Thoughts come up the same way sounds come up. Like Bob says, if you choose your own thoughts, wouldn't you always have happy thoughts? Wouldn't you always be happy? You would never choose. You would, yeah. You would never be upset or angry. It's more the indiscriminate ones versus the... Yeah, but I said it's in the same bucket. It is. It is. It's in the same bucket. Yeah. You get memories of the thoughts. If you look back at your memories, you see memories of the thoughts quite clearly. You see that never ever ever do any memories come up of you deciding to have that thought, like ever.

So we can't actually even say that it's not happening, but we never experience that. Okay, yeah. It's like, you know, tell me about the hippopotamus that was in this room before. Nobody's got a memory of that. We can't say there wasn't one, but because something magical happened, we don't know. There's just no memory of it, that's all. Yeah, okay. I think so. How did you put the... Sam on that line? Thought has popped into my head. I'm a kind of Jesus, I believe. Yeah. On myself, I can do nothing. It is the Father in me that does the works. Hallelujah. Yes. Yes. Beautiful. It's the life essence in you.

Yes. And you are that. And you are that, yeah. As soon as you say, I am, what's I am? Being. Part of the word to be. Without the I. So I'm still seeing I as just a... as not relating to any entity at all. Unless you put the I on it, then you give it that thing, that's the I that's being. And what's the I? You've got this conceptual image about yourself. Not doing anything. Not doing anything at all. But it's just I, the essence, the Father. Not Big Daddy or something like that. No, no, no. That life essence is a... A life force. Yes.

He also said in another place that I and the Father are one. And I don't think that's the computer, you know. We're like a computer. Unplug us and we're not there. And the courts. Yeah, so it's the same. It's the same. When the computer's got no power, nothing happens. So the power is... Is the life force. Is the life force, you know. And so without that, you can't have a single thought. Not a single thought. Not one. A little bit like, I don't know how to put it, how many light bulbs there are on the planet, but there's a lot. Okay? And they're all different wattages.

Okay? And they're all different colours. Yeah. Yeah. And all these light bulbs are taking the position of that they are the way they are, and they're either being proud because they're a 100 watt bulb, right? Or they're kind of meek and they kind of shrivel up because they're only a 2 watt bulb or whatever. And, oh, this is... And, oh, this particular bulb's... Because you're flat completely. This particular bulb is brown, you know, and that's not really an acceptable colour. I want to be a white bulb, you know. So you've got all this stuff... And... And... Yeah. And all these bulbs, light bulbs, are taking credit for the way they are.

Okay? Like, as though they've done it. Okay? Switch the electricity off and see what happens. Right. Right. So it's huge. That's... That's... That's that pure beingness, witnessing, whatever you want to, whatever label we want to put on it. And it's that that manifests and makes all the light bulbs glow. That's the light, you know? That is. That's the source of the light, if you like. I am the light, the truth, and the light. I am the light, the truth, and the light. Everything. Yeah. And that's a silly little concept that I've just thrown in there. But it's... I love it. But you know... Yes. Yeah.

It's very good. Yeah. And Jesus said, I am the way, the truth and the light. And I like that quote too, you know. In God we live and move and have our being. Outside of that we're nothing. Yep. That's it. Yes. There was one being expressing his everything. One being expressing his everything. Like, like, like... You just have a marvel. Like, like, like all the light bulbs. Yes. All the light bulbs. Yes. But the one essence is the electricity. That's it, yes. But the light bulbs don't know that. That's right. They don't know that. They're all kind of walking around being proud or not so proud or taking on this conceptual idea that they're a bulb in and of themselves and they have free will.

But I would hate to be a fluorescent tube. Yeah, LED. LED. The same electricity is in there. Do you have a tall poppy syndrome? I'll be a cat. I'll be a cat. I'll be a cat. You have no saying. You all love it. I know. Only have you. Jack. My god goes, the eye is like the clown that takes the bound. Rupert says that. Yeah. It's spot on. It's like you take the credit for it. You're a clown. You take the credit for it. That's your thing. Right. Yep. There's no you. And the beauty of it is that you are not one particular bulb, brown or white or whatever the color.

You are. You are the electricity. You happen to be expressing through particular bulb. So you know, in the bulb, you know, it intimately close as a means of expression, just as you know, your car for transportation or your binoculars to see better. But you are the electricity, not the means through which you are expressing. So you're not one bulb. You bulb you all of them. Yeah, but cat, your pointer is a really good one. It's very specific, which I really appreciate. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's very important. I really appreciated when you were addressing Adrian before. It's like, check out your version, like what's working through you specifically.

And I think that's really important rather than just believing the statement, well, I'm not responsible. Well, check it out. Investigate every detail of how it expresses itself. Yes. You've got to find your own certainty. Yeah. You must look for yourself. Yeah. I really appreciated that. Thank you. Yes. Well, like you said, if we don't find our friend for ourselves. Yeah. Yeah. Just powering him or somebody else. Yeah. It's just a concept. Yeah. Even if it won't work either, unless you do it yourself anyway. Yeah. That's right. You're not going to get anywhere. That's exactly right. Yeah. You have to do it. And one can get terribly stuck on this, I'm going to call it a path, but one can get terribly stuck when they've been exposed to this long enough and they have all the right answers.

Yeah. Mm-hmm. It all comes from there, hey? It all just comes from there. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. All the right answers. Yeah. You know? That's right. Yeah. But they get stuck then because it's all conceptual. Yeah. It's all totally conceptual. And it's sad when that happens. Mm-hmm. You know, they kind of need a... Mm-hmm. Because then you get to believe what you're thinking. Mm-hmm. You get to believe the concept of it. And you get invested whether other people confirm it or not. Yes. Yes. Right. Whether other people agree with you or not. And you defend your beliefs. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Right.

It's like... Exactly. It's like the... The ego becomes enlightened. Yes. You know? Which it can't. The moon bulb. You know what I mean? It can't. It's just another story. Yeah. In one thought with another thought. Yeah. You said it. Any rigidity. Well... You have a good side. Yeah. If you have a fixed idea about any person, place or thing, including the image you have about yourself, you're wrong. I like it. Yes. That's beautifully said because nothing is fixed. Everything's moving and changing. Mm-hmm. But having said that, you've still got to start from the concept first. Sure. You start with... Because otherwise... You never get there.

You start with the tool you've got. It's like faking until you make it sort of thing. No. No, not faking. It's... I mean, you've got to... It's got to be a concept at first unless you're, you know, it just clicks the globe. It's that old saying, you know, if you get a thorn stuck in your arm, what do you do? Find another thorn, which is the mind. Yeah. And dig it out. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. One should have got both of them out. Throw them away. So initially, what we do use is concepts, ideas. Yeah. That's why we call it pointers. Mm-hmm.

They're just pointers. You can't take anything that anybody says about this as absolute. Yeah. It doesn't become absolute until you see. Mm-hmm. Until you see... Until it's absolute for you. Yes. Until you see it's just a pointer. It's just another concept. It's just another concept. It's just another idea. As soon as we utter a single word, it's not it. But I still can't make that happen. No. No. Yeah. So when you say, Tony, until you seek for yourself, I can't force myself to see it. Well, there's no what else. It's a grace, isn't it? Yes. It just happens. The word grace. Yeah, grace. You could use that.

Yes. Free gift. And I used to love what Bob used to say about the match in the haystack. Once you've been exposed to truth... Mm-hmm. You're a goner. Yeah. You know? Because you can be grappling with thoughts in your mind and stories in your mind and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Mm-hmm. But all of a sudden, you'll notice there's not a response that's always been there. Mm-hmm. And it's not there anymore. And you go, wow. And this is... And that is exactly what that means. Truth eats away the lie. You don't eat away the lie. Another part of your mind doesn't eat away the lie.

The image you have about yourself doesn't eat away the lie. Truth eats away the lie. I think I read this in Romano. He said... Truth of your own being. ...use a stick to stir the fire until the stick is settled and burns out. Same thing. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly the same thing. Same thing. Yeah, yeah. Well said. I didn't say that. No, you didn't. I just said well said. Yeah. I didn't say... Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I didn't say that. It wasn't my idea. I love that. I love that. Well said. Jane said it. And he says, I didn't say it. And Jane said, I didn't say you said it.

I said we said it. Never laughed at it. Everything seems to be meant to be, do you think? So even if we do have a period where we think we're separate, and we know the consequences of being, feeling or believing we're separate, or we're suffering, then we can have that wonderful experience of compassion can come to us. We know. Yes, we know why people are suffering or why they do not so nice things, because they think they're separate. Yes. Oh. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. I can feel compassion. And it comes.

That can be a good thing. And nothing's wasted. Nothing has been bad. Everything's been a human experience. Like this, the data says, everything happens as it should. Universe unfolds the way it should. It's just as it is. As it is. Nothing right or wrong, but thinking makes it so. I know. unmodified, uncorrected, I love that. That's my favourite. I love that too, yeah. It's only when we step in and have an opinion on what is that becomes a problem. Then there's two. Me here, having an opinion on what is. An opinion on what is. Yeah, and we might like what is or we might dislike what is.

Either way, there's still this so-called entity here that's either like him or... No judgement. I'm not the author of the story. Well, if we can't accept what is, there's resistance. It's like a child chucking a tantrum because, you know, Mum has said, no, no, the TV's got to go off now because we're having dinner. It's just what is, right? And the child goes, I don't want that, I want this. Accepting what is. It is what is. It literally is what is. Now, you can either accept that, not that there's anyone to accept that, you can either accept that or go into resistance around it. And going into resistance around it is just being a kid because it is what is.

Is means not was or not will be. What's that, Bob? Not was and not will be. Ah, not was and not will be. Yeah. We're waiting for wisdom then. Yeah? What's the wisdom? Can you hear me? It's also not was and not won't be. Yes. It's wonderful, isn't it? No judgement. And make no mistake, the judgements will come up just like any other thought because thoughts do come up. Like, if you wouldn't judge, you would go to the shop, you wouldn't judge what you want to buy to eat. So the judgements do come up. The judgements, they are, well, they're sort of neutral. They'll just come up too.

Yes. They're neutral judgements. But harsh judgements will also do, if you happen to practise them for 30, 40, 50, 60 years, you know, the pattern of judging will be there. But if you see that pattern just as another cloud on the horizon and you don't go there, like Jen is using it as a train, like the train of judgement invites you for the ride and you just don't embark it. So the judgement comes and the judgement goes. Nobody pays attention. Nobody. But it's just being ignored. You've drawn that one. That's good. Yes. So that life essence decides what meal, what dinner you're going to have.

Absolutely. Absolutely. Everything. Everything. And who are that life essence? Just kick the last tyre. Yes. Who are that life essence? Yes. And you are the... They're either attracted or repelled. They're attracted or repelled. All this food's going past on one of those food belts and you go, you won't go, but there'll be an attraction to that one and you'll eat it. Come on. You know? But you never did a thing. It gave me the idea I feed the body. I'm a load of nonsense. I hear what Bob said. Yeah. What did you say? What do you say, Bob? I just said you... Eventually it will go.

You said that life essence, you are the life essence. Take your stance there. Yes. You are the life essence. You said, you know, talking about the life essence, well, you are that. Yes. Life essence. Yeah. So ultimately, as the life essence, you are the doer. You are choosing your dinner. As the entity, individual, you are not. That's right. As Jane says, you are repulsed or attracted because of the whole universe bringing you up day by day, moment by moment to shape you as the instrument that you are. But that's us, individual. You are absolutely no doer, no guilt, no shame, no free will. But as life, as the electricity, you live as the life essence.

You light up all the bulbs and you light up every action and you do grow your hair as the life essence and you do choose your meal as the life essence. Okay. And you are that. Absolutely. Not what we think we are. No, not who we think we are. That's right. And when a decision's made, it's a cosmic thing. I know it sounds a bit 1960s and a bit hippy, but it's the whole cosmos. Yeah. Absolutely. It's that action. Yeah. Because it's one. It's undivided. It's like the whole ocean creates that tsunami wave. I mean, that tsunami wave is created by the earth breaking, but the whole universe is contributing to it.

Without space, that tsunami wave just wouldn't have ever happened. Yeah. Nor would anything else. So that all contributes too. We'll be here either if it wasn't for the space. And we wouldn't be here either if it wasn't for the bees or ants or the birds or the birds or the birds or the birds or the birds or the birds or the ants or the ants or the trees or anything, everything. That's right. And for the... And for the tauts. We wouldn't be here if we didn't project the tauts on all the objects. And by projecting the tauts and believing that room into existence, there wouldn't be any room.

The act of projection and belief creates the whole dream. And now we can awake and know that this act of belief is still happening. I'm not doing it. The life is doing it. It's still happening. Yeah. And even though I know the dream, it doesn't disappear. It's still there. So one essence, patterning, shaping, forming, expressing and appearing as everything. And that is all there is. And when they say one essence, because now the Dzogchen people will get ballistic about it, we say there is one, not two. But we also say it's not even one because that one essence is not an object. This is not a thing that is happening and doing everything.

It's not even one. We could equally say that one essence is as well as one essence isn't. That nothing is. Really, the reality of thing is nothingness, is the emptiness. And the movement of that emptiness creates an illusion of objects, not an object. There are no objects. It's just a Maya illusion, manifestation. So to end up the discussion whether there is one or there isn't one, well, the Tao that can be spoken is not the real Tao. So whatever we say is not it. Whatever we say is not the truth. They're just words. And words... Yeah. Words are all dualistic. Words all have the opposite.

One essence, not one essence. There is one, there is no one. There is zero. Every word has the opposite and every word symbolizes object. And we are not talking about objects. We're talking about pure subjectivity. Yes. I think I heard, I'm not a scientist in any shape or form, but I think I heard that science has discovered that there's the one energy appearing as everything. Quantum physics. And they put their hand under a special object, I don't know what it is. Microscope. And there's only energy moving around. There's not... A hand is just, it's not fresh and blood as we know, it's just energy moving around.

Pure intelligence. And that seems to be science has come to that. It appears to be solid. That's right. With what senses we have, Yes. and the abilities that seem to be here, Yes. everything appears to be solid. Yes. But it is all nothing but a vibration of energy and that's a fact. That's a real question. Science and knowledge are... That's a fact. And is this... And is this the same creating the cells of the body, are the same cells creating the bone as well as the heart and the... You know, the same energy? Same energy. Yes. Yeah, just like the electricity lighting up all the light bulbs.

It's the same energy. So... The problem is each light bulb steps in and takes credit for its own beingness. Yes. And this is all I've got, you know, but this hand is only energy. Yeah. Everything like this chair... And so is this chair and so is the whole planet. Yes, it's just... Science calls it energy. Mm-hmm. But it's another name for whatever the light bulb is. I've seen... I was in a theatre in Sydney. The whole thing was vibrating. Everything was vibrating. And even on my body I've seen... I've seen specks. It's all vibrating. I've seen it a few times. You've had that experience? Yeah, I've had that experience.

It felt like I was floating. I wasn't solid at all. It's disappeared. And that is actually... And that is actually... And that is what Mary says and Bob often points out this as well. I mean, science is quite... It can be handy to help us understand things, but the real way of understanding is experiencing. Because science, you know, we can... Did we see the electron microscope? No. Did we see the telescopes? Did we see... Did we really experience the science? No, we believe someone. And we don't want to believe anyone. We don't even want to believe Einstein who says that there is no matter, only energy.

We don't want to believe anyone. No. So the easiest way to actually verify it is to pause the thinking and see, like Mary says, you've been... You could actually experience yourself just as a pure vibration. Like, how do you experience your face? I felt like I was invisible. And I felt light. I didn't feel I was solid at all. I could see all these specks around me and I didn't know what was happening at the time. And when I was at the cinema, the same thing. Now I think, you went like that, and I thought, oh my God, what's happening? Again, you know, I wasn't sure, but yeah.

But how about right now, right at this moment? If you pause the thinking and try and feel your face, just feel it, just feel it, how do you experience it? Do you experience it as a material solid object? Do you experience it as something of shape or colour? Or is it just a sensation floating randomly through the... Or was that a mind? I mean... Yeah, if you stop the thinking, if you forget about... Yeah, mental image of... Even time disappears. I don't even know where I'm at or what I'm doing. Absolutely. Yeah. And then, of course, if you go back to these, then everything appears as we see it.

But it's not. It's not. I see it when it's my husband or someone is here. Even with terrors in my place, I could see them different. I mean, I think I told you. I could see their face changing. It was different than what we see. I could see even... It's not solid. I could see even the colours too. But I could see the solidity wasn't there. And that often happens. Yeah, me too. Don't worry, we will all make you up. Collective belief will make you up. Just keep winging, she'll make it there, mate. Thank you. How did you go with all this, Jackie? Great. Yeah, yeah, yeah, good.

What do you think, Desiree? I sort of had it in mind to say a few things. Like science isn't what a lot of people think. Science is a method. Yeah. And it sort of proposes a hypothesis and then tests it. So in a way, it's sort of the same thing. It's like looking for yourself. Absolutely. It's wonderful. I'm in love with science. But you have to actually have the tools yourself. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's only a reinforcement. Yes, exactly. It's even science. Especially the non-believers. They'll accept science. I've got two at home. Or one of them. They'll accept science. But if you say something, it's a sceptical thing.

But they accept science means they believe scientists. Yes, yes. I got one of them. And it is, as you say, it is science. It is true. It's a method. And it's a wonderful thing to actually see. I mean, I love it because I can see everywhere in every single phase of life the intelligence or the consciousness finding itself. It finds itself through psychology. It finds itself through memetics, through neuroscience, through quantum mechanics. Wherever the mind focuses exclusively, it eventually finds itself. It finds its own reflection, its own infinite breathtaking truth. It finds its own magnificence. So, which way, you know, through every single body. It finds itself through music.

It finds itself through drugs. It finds itself through orgasm in sex. It always ends up finding itself. But then it loses itself again and strays and then goes with the train of thoughts. And then it wakes up again. Otherwise, it wouldn't be fresh and new. It has to be fresh and new. It is creative, isn't it? It is. It is amazing. It forces creativity. Okay, time's gone up. Time has gone up. There is no time. Thank you. Well, it's lovely to hear these. We're just thrilled to be here.
