Okay, are we ready? Labels Yeah, that's what it is really Yeah, how are you Tass? You're not Tass. You're absolute mystery. You're a total unknown It's like you can't really say what you are because to say what you are you will have to be outside yourself to evaluate So label is really kind of it is simplifying and it's convenient. I mean gosh wonderful is Makes the communication possible and makes it juicy also but That's I yeah, mm-hmm. Yes, so Yes, it's a muggy day Everyone is kind of a little bit mugged Yeah, like last meeting everybody was Tony Terry on the end of the line was lost Tony too Yes, so gosh, what do we start with?

Who are we without the label? Because that's easy like it's very fashionable and popular. I don't know how about now but it used to be to give yourself a spiritual name and change the name because now you feel you are someone different or someone else. What does it really mean to be different? Like what is it? What does actually change? Someone acquires new religion or new belief system and they feel I'm a new person now. Like really to actually look how the personality is changing all the time regardless of a name. I have a friend, very very dear and loved friend of mine who actually uses three names and that's fair.

I mean gosh with one lover she was Eva and with another one she was well I'm not gonna be saying names but why not? I mean I used to remember learn how to write with the left hand and the right hand and I when I was having a diary as a teenager I would give myself few names. Because how different we are depending on the situation. How different persona we have in the relation with our boss or with our employee. What a different persona we have with children or adults or parents or spouses. And now I give myself a spiritual name and what does it really change in my relationship with my mom?

Nothing. So it is really just like putting a tattoo. Now you know I want to remember something. I want to have it forever. It's this is it's it's similar sort of a joy. I mean why not? I mean gosh everything is I don't seem to watch. Oh that would be quite difficult because you don't even know which name is like you know. Kalyani wasn't born Kalyani. And I sort of suspected that. Really? Yeah they they they go and it means something for them. It's emotional for them. It's why not? I mean gosh the the label that your mother gave you you pick yourself one that you like.

One that you like more. What's wrong with that? I met one woman it was more of a way of dropping attachment to the current name. So it was like given her as an exercise to just drop all attachment. She was like oh my god when it came to the crunch she really didn't want to change it. And she realized how attached she was to her name. So it was kind of interesting. It was supposed to be a dropping in that case. Yeah also different communities like Jewish communities. They they get some sort of a spiritual ritual in which they change names. It's nothing wrong. It's absolutely nothing wrong with anything.

It's really the people they don't really do it is the persistent thought emotionally charged thought that does that whole thing. So if you don't add any meaning to it well why not? I mean. I was just you know I know. Yeah I I get it. Yeah yeah. No yeah yeah. Yeah no yeah. They take themselves what you want to. I always had to take themselves seriously. Such a good point yeah. Any name or form is still only a Maya. You know. Yeah. Yeah Bob you know Sailor Bob is not his is not his given name is. No. No he wasn't born a sailor. He became same sailor only at the age of 17.

And it wasn't a spiritual name I don't know. Not very spiritual at all. Quite the contrary. You go to the fellowship with an anonymous fellowship that only gave out first names. There was Geordie Bob. There was Manangatang Bob. There was George. There was Bob. There was Brighton Bob. There was Big Bob and Manangatang. Up in the middle. Up in the middle. So being a sailor at the time. Seaman at the time I got Sailor Bob. Oh okay. And then I started talking to others. Most of the time I was talking to druggies and elkies at the start. And they'd bring along people after a while and they would introduce me as Sailor Bob and the name stuck.

What did Shakespeare say? What's in a name? I'm trying to poke fun at names. I just call myself a sailor Bob. I'm a sailor Bob. I'm a sailor Bob. I'm a sailor Bob. I'm a sailor Bob. I'm a sailor Bob. I'm a sailor Bob. I'm a sailor Bob. I'm a sailor Bob. I'm a sailor Bob. I'm a sailor Bob. I'm a sailor Bob. It's going to be my username, plop. Plop. Just to let go of caring. So what has Shakespeare said? What's in a name? Wasn't there a play, What's in a Name? Was it Shakespeare? Or somebody wrote a play? Well. Yeah, a rose by any other name that smells sweet.

Yeah, so the name, the label is not really important. What's important is actually to notice what is being labeled. Because what is really being labeled? We often identify with some part of personality or part, you know, we call it a shadow that we don't like, that we kind of resist and deny and project on other people and fight with other people with our own projection. And that stuff, what is being labeled, if we really looked at it, then we see that that's also kind of a passing phenomena. Like whatever I'm calling, well, my name is also funny. It's not a spiritual name or anything, but it's translatable to every language.

And because I've been working with nearly every nation that has ever worked on the ships, I have different names that Filipinos have. Filipinos would call me, or Norwegian, or British, or Americans. They would just make some one of the Orations, they would make things out of my name, so I never got attached to it. But then again, you know, what is being labeled? They label the body for convenience. They may, you know, if I label myself, I don't identify with the body. I may identify with some sort of a, you know, well, not anymore, but I used to identify myself with the emotional pattern, the pattern of sensitivity, vulnerability.

Not even the character, because even that can be shaped in a way, to a certain extent. But the pattern of emotions that I was attached to, my whatever sensitivity. But really, ultimately, what I am cannot be labeled, because what I am doesn't have any, you know, it's undistinguishable from anything else. So body can be labeled, but the presence, the knowingness, it encompasses, envelopes absolutely everything. Like everything that is knowable, is being known, is that pure knowing. So how can that be labeled? And if that was labeled, that would be the only label that is. So they call it, sometimes they label it oneness, because it's undistinguishable and inseparable from anything else.

And then they put the label on it, gone. Oh yeah. Yeah, and then they make image of God. And they create it as a, so that's what labels do. They're wonderful, they're great for convenience. Like the way you are often showing, you know, the way we label that. That is the carpet, that is the chair, that is Moira, that is Taz, that. The that-ness is being segregated, is being divided into a little section. That section is called carpet, section of that-ness is called carpet. That section of that-ness is called chair. But it's all that-ness. It's all that. And the label is actually separating little objects in that that-ness.

That we agreed that those objects are functionally separated according to the equipment that we are using to read out of the whole blob of the undistinguishable sensory experiences. Because only the learning actually allows us to distinguish between sounds and objects and everything, the so-called conditioning. And we just recognize from that, if you understood it, that all separation and division comes from the word. Label, the name. Yeah. Me and not me, good and bad, pleasant and bad, high and low. Not using those words. What are you? Where are you? How are you? Why are you? Looking at that didn't it show you? Looking at that didn't it shut you up?

There's no reason. Hey. Why are you? No reason. But you haven't fallen apart or disappeared without the label, without the word. It's not there when you're in deep sleep at night. And it needs to be recognized or understood. Look into all the ancient texts that are right on the ball, I'll tell you. The answer's not in the mind. The word's not the thing. There's one, it's only the one essence appearing, expressing as everything. Nothing good or bad with thinking. Nothing makes it so. All these things are part of that essence that can't be negated. Understand that. Can you negate yourself? If you can't negate the beingness, you must be.

But I want to be outside. Yeah. She's monitoring that birds outside nesting. And they kind of play flying very close to her, trying to scare her away. But she's a brave little kitty. She's not afraid at all. And she's not really brave. She's just completely in one with nature. So she's completely following her instincts. She doesn't have any idea that there is anything wrong with this moment. And she has no idea what she's going to do next moment. And how do I know? Well, because I have no idea what I'm going to do next moment either. And neither do you. Nobody does really. People only think they do.

So that's the question. So that's the major difference. And that's where the suffering comes from. Thinking. Thinking that I'm responsible. Thinking that I can choose my thoughts and actions. Thinking that I can choose wrongly. Thinking that I know what I am or who I am. Thinking that I know how worthy or unworthy I am. This is all thinking. Like, really. Anything that is different than the content of seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, smelling, and tasting. Right in this moment. Is imagination. It's just imagination. Like, tomorrow is an imagination. My past is the imagination. Self-definition. Label. Name. They are all coming from imagination. They are not the reality.

And they are wonderful. They are functional. There's nothing wrong with them. But when they are completely embodied. Like when I incarnate into that imaginary sort of a self. That imaginary sort of a set of thoughts and parameters and mental image. And start operating as a separate entity. And relate everything to that separate entity which I believe myself to be. Then the simplicity of life is gone. Suddenly everything becomes much more complicated. Suddenly everything gets this flavor of I like it or I don't like it. Or I must do something about it. I must fix it. This is wrong. Everything becomes heavy. It becomes dramatic. It becomes personal.

And this is not necessary. I mean for some reason it seems to be necessary for some time. Because if it wasn't necessary for some time. The freedom from it wouldn't be possible. So when this overlay on the life. Like natural spontaneous life. Like cat watching the birds or whatever. On top of it. There is that overlay of interpretation and translation. And making everything personal. And that's unnecessary. That's redundant. And that is to be recognized. And once it is recognized. It automatically loses its sting. Because the process of recognition. Is initially the process of taking the life essence out of that mental image. The belief goes out of it.

Suddenly to be able to actually witness certain mental process. Part of attention is in the witnessing. So the attention that was fueling that mental process. Is not fully fueling anymore. The princess chair. There you go. Yeah. So we all know the same. Saying always everything about nothing. Just chatting about nothing. About labels. What are we labeling really? I mean you know. When someone gave you a name. It is usually a name given to the body. Of course certain personality is unseparable from the body. Even the way the body walks. Or the way the body sits. Or gestures. So that you can't really make a split.

The body gets a label. And the emotional or mental patterns don't. They do. But that's the way it is. But that label doesn't really tell you who you are. Because who you are is absolute mystery. You can never ever know it. Neither anyone else can ever know it. Because for anyone else to actually know it. They would have to be outside. And now as they define themselves. If I want to tell you who you are. I define myself as separated. So I'm already wrong. Nobody can ever tell you who you are. And you can never find out who you are. So labeling is just. Is basically just part of the play.

Is part of the expression of imagination. We started with. Tony was saying he's distrustful. Around people who change their names. Get themselves some spiritual names. And they kind of think that they changed. Have you by any chance had a spiritual name? No. No? I know they're okay. Yeah everything's okay. But I don't know. I don't know. Yeah everything's okay. Everything's you know. Nobody's a doer. Nobody does it. You know. For me it's really just like. Like putting a tattoo. And also married women. They change name. They change name to kind of. You know. Volunteerly make themselves a possession of a husband. Or kind of. You mean your son has not had a son?

No? We're not married. No? No. We're not married. We're not married. What was that? Yeah. She's asking if my surname is not Adamson. Ah really. I actually had my ex-husband's name. There was a lot more. I did. I didn't really see it. He wanted it. And it was. Well it sounded easier to pronounce my name. Sometimes they double up and put your stuff up. Apparently there's a weighing holder. You know. There's a baby here. You know, the whole thing's just fun. Yeah. So what she said, where does that leave language? Yeah. A way of explaining or describing things, but is it the actuality? Is it the reality?

She also said that the words lose their sting. Is that a fact? Try it out and see. You don't have to take any of this as a given. Question it yourself. That's how you get to it, by recognising what's being said. It's not the fact. The description can never be the described. The map can never be the territory. The word can never be the real. But they're very useful, and we use language and use words. And if you know that, how are you going to be bound with the word? And see how we all are bound with the word until we know it. Until we recognise it.

I'm not good enough, or I'm fearful, or I'm an angry person, or I'm a person, or this, that manner. We tie ourselves up with the word which is not the real. It's not the thing. We can give the spills forever and ever and ever, but you need to look into them and see what resonates. If it doesn't resonate, come and tell us about it, and we'll work it out. I heard a really helpful version of the, of Ramana Maharshi. It's not his, it's thousands, thousands years old. But who am I question? Who am I now? Because we very often get entangled in the roles that we are playing.

You know, when I'm with my mother, I'm daughter. And of course there is, you know, there is a dynamic that actually keeps me, the pattern that keeps me there, you know. I can't be her mother or whatever. I mean, I'm not there anymore, but, it very often happens, they say, if you want to check how enlightened you are, go and spend a weekend with your parents. But basically we are, we are changing roles all the time. And actually asking yourself, who am I now, brings you back to the now. Like, okay, a moment ago, I was just an enemy of my vicious boss. But right now, how about now?

Like, waking up, moment to moment, who am I now? A moment ago, I was a lover. I was a woman. Ah, it was delicious. But now, how about now? Or, you know, just that version that could be, rather than inquiring, who am I, who am I, who am I? And then, you know, trying to find the answer, or not trying, just shutting down and just shutting up and listening to the silence that is the answer. But the question, who am I now? It kind of brings you out of the role. Because very often we can recognize the role that we played, just a moment ago, from hindsight.

And then, oh my gosh, what was that? And then, doesn't matter, leave it. How about now? Who am I now? So that's a sweet little trick. And I suppose, who am I now is what is appearing now. Now generally brings you to the now, you know. So whatever, whatever is the content of the now. Yeah. More neutral than who am I. What, what is. Yeah. What am I now? I actually like the what even more, because it doesn't suggest the human aspect. It's kind of more general than who. I get tripped up. I just have to go, what is there now? And not even put a position on there.

Fantastic. What is appearing now. Yeah, what is now. What is here now. Yeah. What is now, yeah. Whatever. Whatever works. I mean, yeah, whatever works. The truth is, we can't even ask the questions, because there is no us, no us to ask it. There is no me to ask question. So those little things that Bob often gives in the Spiel are kind of like a seeds, you know, that little memes that he puts in your mind that when the time comes, they may pop out and rescue you. Like, don't go there. What's wrong with right now if I don't think about it? Like, if there is a resonance and they kind of feel they take you home, then they naturally find, find home in you.

And when necessary, they'll pop up. It's not that I can bring the thought and rescue myself, because there is no I to bring thought, and there is no myself to be rescued. But if those patterns, you know, the... Go away. Where are those cuts? Lazy. I was chasing it, but it came to you now. Oh, okay. But anyway, if this new pattern comes up, and if that is somehow anchored, then the very mind which we want to wake up from can actually be a help. It can bring out the helpful sort of pointers. So apart from waking up from all the thinking and realizing the thinking to be a Maya and to be whatever the tool and not the servant and not the master, that very mind can actually, if it anchors those few little, few little memes, it can be helpful.

It can relieve a lot of suffering. Like, I don't know who was it. Ah, that was a girl from Germany. She's testing what's wrong with right now if you don't think about it. She's testing it, testing it many, many times a day to find out when it doesn't work. Even the urge or the earnestness to check it brings about the discipline, and it anchors that very statement which is so helpful. So this becomes a new habit. What's she asking? What's wrong with now? What's wrong with right now unless I think about it? You know, whatever the situation is, if you ask yourself, okay, but, okay, what if I don't think about it?

Let's say whatever, some near and dear one passed away or is dying of something very painful. But, okay, but what's wrong if I don't think about it? Oh, my God. A moment of relief in the turmoil of a daily drama, a moment of catching a breath. So that little mental habit, even though it is still conceptual, it can bring a relief and it can start a new habit, habit of being free from suffering even for a moment. And those moments are... One day she'll notice that the whole exercise is just spontaneous. Yeah, absolutely. One day she'll go, oh, my God, that was just happening. It is spontaneous.

Everything is spontaneous. One day she'll notice it, maybe. Yeah. Everything is spontaneous. Even forming new habit patterns is also spontaneous. Yeah, there's nothing predetermined or... For me, it's being that question, further to that, it has me examining, well, who is the I that's perceiving the thing as a problem? Because then there's an I perceiving the problem, it's in a relationship with it. So, yes. It's been a great window for me to go, oh, actually, I'm just trapped in a concept of myself viewing a problem, and it's a pattern and it seizes my body and my thinking and my reality. So the window, that point has been a great window.

It's like, oh, there's something beyond that, and then there's something beyond... There's something beyond. Yeah. And what a space. Yeah. Suddenly there is space to breathe. Get a little bit of a break and just look at it in more kind of impersonal way. Yeah. Because now you're looking at the movie on the screen, you're not in it anymore. At least a little bit more free from... There's something not there. Mm. The one that's been popping up for me a bit lately is, I've got a bugger, and then I go, oh, yeah, I've got a bugger. I don't actually even really care about what just happened, what I was resisting, and I go, yeah, I don't care at all.

It just flashes in an emptiness around whatever just happened. It's just as empty, really, when you look back. Yeah, I don't care about that at all. What was that reaction about? Yeah. That's a good one. It is. Because it empties everything out. I've just found recently, especially yesterday, I was away on a workshop in the country, that any thought interrupts the natural functioning. Oh, wow. Yeah, right. Any thought just interrupts just freedom, actually. Yeah, right. God. That's what we're carrying out in our world, aren't we? Yeah. I think I'm going mad. I'm thinking, like... Yeah, exactly. And that's it, exactly, right there. Mm. That's pretty enlightened.

Mm. It is. It is. But what about if the thought is completely ignored? It doesn't really bother you. Then it doesn't matter. Yeah. It's only when the attention goes in there, and it is... Mm. ...but soon it gets recognized to be meaningless, you know. Yeah. I mean, in a kind of way, it does it. But, you know, it's just earlier in the thought, or later in the thought that it just becomes hollow, or, you know, becomes meaningless, or just drops away all together. Or, you know, there's just multiple ways in which it just isn't anything. Yeah. Then it gets seen either right away, like you were saying, or it's a bit later on, through the thought.

Mm. In which case, maybe even it's gone into a wee daydream by then, wondering by then and gone completely fuzzy and quite unaware of what's been going on. And then it does go away and it's, oh, back. And the moment when the thought is not actually recognised, when let's say we get captured in that story and we sit in that story, that's actually a moment to be ignored because it doesn't matter. What we often do is we kind of evaluate, OK, how often I realise that I'm waking up from the thought. I often hear people saying, yeah, but I'm not waking up enough. I don't spend enough time in that clear space.

I don't recognise thoughts enough. That's the wrong conditioning. We are conditioning ourselves through this sort of a mantra to actually recognise it less because we are punishing. Paradoxically, yes. Paradoxically, yes. And the truth is the mind doesn't wake up. So punishing mind for not waking up from the mind is totally, totally idiotic. When you look at it, there's no such thing as mind apart from thought. Exactly. Thinking is mind. Even that idea of now gives us something that's static and will stay around for a while. What if you try it immediately? Can you pinpoint that? Sorry, say it again. What if you tried the word immediately instead of now?

Yes, so really the relevant moment is the moment when that presence of awareness is recognised. If it happens, OK, it happens once a day, only it happens right now, but the whole day I was completely lost in the story, dramatising, blah, blah, blah. Doesn't matter, forget about it. It's gone, it's past. Right now, you're here. And this is the moment to be celebrated. If you start pondering upon the past now, you're gone in the mind again. The moment of awakening wasted. It's covered up with evaluation of what happened prior to it. It could show up in so many ways, because that time when Bob said the word immediately, it flashed into me what was just before he said the word immediately and there was nothing there.

So that did it, you know. You just never know what's going to do it, what tiny moment is going to, you know. Yeah. And then you can see hundreds of evaluations coming in or not, you know. And that's great, because then you're seeing that stuff. That's great. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, so it is really only about this moment right now. All the previous moments when I was in the drama, when I was caught up, when I was a person or when I was playing a role or I was the ego, they're just stories. They're nonsense. Doesn't matter. It's not even worthy of looking at. And evaluating progress, how much more.

This is nonsense. This is the story again. It's really just about this moment right now. Right now, okay, I can smell something. Oh, I can feel something. I can hear something. Okay, I'm here now. Good. Good. Whatever happened prior, whatever is going to happen next moment, doesn't really matter, because this is going to be the mind. Past and future. Five minutes ago and five minutes later. That's past. That's past and future. It's not worthy of going there because every time I go there, I strengthen that habit in the mind. So every time I look back, oh my gosh, I was caught up for half an hour.

My God, this is dreadful. Now I'm training myself to actually break the moment I realized that, oh my gosh, I was caught up. Gone. And now I realize I was caught up and I'm going over back to being caught up and evaluating the past. It's not worth it. And you can have the beginning of the evaluation process too. So you can have one sentence of evaluation that's believed in, and that's when you, I think, sort of what you started to talk about, and then you're talking about the story side. Or you can have the bit where, oh, there comes evaluation thought, and it kind of goes.

It might not go in a hurry, but it's like spotted right away as an evaluation thought popping in. Yes. And that's great because that's kind of fun because it's got a whole bunch of different things. Yeah. And it's a lot of fun. Yeah. And it's a lot of fun. Yeah. And it's a lot of fun. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And it's a lot of fun because it's got a whole lot less power. That's exactly what I'm trying to point. Yeah, yeah. Yes. The moment you wake up and you realize that you are moving back to the past and evaluating, just say, ah, okay.

That's how the mind wants to catch me again. That's funny. It's actually quite sweet when you see how smart that whole game has been designed. Yes. In how many ways the mind is seducing you for a ride. And as Bob says, there is no mind. It's just a thought. It's just a thought that wants to steal the show and dance a little bit on this beautiful dance floor of life. So now the thought is taking over the whole attention. So this is all that is going on. It's no mind that is seducing you. It's just a figure of speech. But it is just an illustration.

So recognizing, all right, is that thought dancing now in front of the audience, which is the presence awareness. Okay, cool. Now waking up. Okay, next one. Oh, all right, next one. And there is no, and if the evaluation happens, that's just the next one. Just another dancer on that dance floor of life. Evaluation of past or future or pondering about anything, everything that is not the direct content of seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, smelling right now is the imagination. 00.01.19.00 You wake upれた now is the thought, and it's wonderful. It's to be loved. It's to be admired. Don't we love the gorgeous beautiful dancers? I mean if we see them for what they are, they are phenomenal.

I kind of found really entertaining to actually see — not necessarily in my own self right now but when someone calls me. I have a few friends calling, and they are telling me how they get caught up. I say, Wow. Isn't Isn't it amazing? Look at this. I mean, you know, the friend was bullied at work and then she was, she actually, she's enlightened enough to recognize that bullying wasn't a problem. The problem was that it really got into her and she would play it like a broken record in their head over, over, over again. So those ways how the mind or the thought is taking you for the ride, you look at this and see how smart, how brilliant, how brilliant.

I mean, those are almost like a living creatures. They want that attention too. Everything wants to leave. So when you see them this way, you don't resist them. You don't hate them. You don't want to suppress them. You don't want to kill them. You don't want to get rid of them. You don't want to sedate them because she was also for, for lifelong, she was sedating herself with alcohol and drugs because she didn't, she couldn't stand the noise in the head. She wanted quiet there. But when you see them. You don't hate them for what they are. You don't really need to do anything about them.

He just watched the dancer like, Whoa, nobody's watching, but you're right. Yeah, absolutely. But still the presence of awareness, the knowingness is knowing. So there is a knowingness about that dance, not particular person or particular viewpoint or witness situated anywhere. Totally unlocated knowingness. The thing is that presence is always there. It's always there. It's always there. It's always there anyway. So yeah, I don't even look at it as getting caught up because it really doesn't matter because there's no one there getting caught up anyway. So just whatever. So exactly. So exactly. And you don't even worry about being or not being caught up because it's just this moment and it's precious.

They'll never be the same again. Boundless. Yeah. Hmm. And, and, and, and in that way of, of evaluating. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So I just wanted to ask you, you said you don't worry about being caught up because you're not going to get caught up in a tragic situation if there is nobody to be caught up. If that is understood, then of course there is no suffering anymore. Even if the thought takes a show and dance of that thought of bullying or whatever goes for an hour or two hours, if there is no one who takes it personally and who wants it to go away, there's no problem at all.

Let them be. No boundary between caught-up-edness and non-caught-up-edness. That's right. Yeah. There's no one to be caught up, really. That's again, the figurative. That's again the figure of speech. In truth, there is no person who is caught up in the thought. It's just the screen and the thought. I mean, even the screen and the thought are just one and the same because the thought is a dynamic aspect of the same one essence. But really, if that is recognized, there is no problem. The idea that there should be no thoughts or there should be quiet is just another idea. It doesn't have to be this way.

It's just what it is as it is. Just as you say, there's nobody to be caught up, there's nobody to watch it. It's just this moment as it is. Whatever is the content of the moment, whatever are the sounds in the moment, or whatever sounds or whatever thoughts, because again, they're just passing phenomena. Sounds and thoughts, it's not even Bob is saying sometimes, I love that comparison, the thought is almost like a whisper of the sound because when the thought, or whatever, the thought is like a whisper of the sound, because when the thought or word is spoken, it is a sound. But when it's not spoken, when it's kind of only just da-da-da in the head, it's like a whisper.

It's almost like a silent sound. So that's what thinking is. What's the difference? I can't choose the sounds. I can't choose the thoughts. They're just passing phenomena. And they're content of this moment. So just as much as the content of the sounds are noticed, the same way the content of the sounds, which are thoughts, are noticed. There's nobody who gets caught up. There's nobody who says, I don't want it. I want a quiet. I want different thoughts, happy thoughts. There's nobody there. Well, this is the way I should be. This should be how I react to stop. So if I get really crappy and in a bad mood, big deal.

It's not even a lie. It doesn't matter. Yeah, absolutely. Quite the contrary. Because we've got this whole concept of how to stop. You can't stop. You can enjoy your anger. And that's it. We've got this concept, which we've reinforced day in, day out, the rest of our lives. And everybody around us is reinforcing these concepts also. So it's a seeming habit. And somebody come along and tell you, there's no one to have this habit. It's hard to grasp onto at a start. That's why it needs to be looked at continually by yourself and see how real is the word. How real is the sensation? Even when it's labelled fear, anger, and all the rest of it.

Where did you get that label from? What people around you are telling us is anger. You were angry. You were fearful. And is that essence got any fear? What's the opposite of fear? To be fearless. Have less for a start off until you don't have any at all. And we'll still use the label as soon as we get to the point where we can say, well, I'm not afraid. I'm not afraid. I'm not afraid. I'm not afraid. I'm not afraid. I'm not afraid. I'm not afraid. I'm not afraid. I'm not afraid. I'm not afraid. I'm not afraid. I'm not afraid. I'm not afraid. And we'll start off until you don't have any at all.

And we'll still use the label as soon as we get to the label we've lost all our thing of seeing everything as it is because we immediately go to the label. Why? Out of habit. Everybody around us is doing it habitually. And that's what I'm saying, if you start to settle out as it yourself, you can be sucked back in when you go outside. And people tell you this, that, and the other. But after a while, stabilising in what your natural state is, nobody can say, I think knock you off at the burst. Nobody at all. Whether you're seemingly saying the wrong thing, thinking or feeling what you might call the wrong thing, you know, the changeless background is ever fresh and ever new and always and ever present.

And you are that. What you guys were saying, it's like an eternal improv, eternal improv. Eternal what? Improv, improvisation. Improvisation, yes. So like it doesn't really matter, everybody's doing scenarios and they're doing them crackly sometimes and they know that. Interceptors doing whatever, it's got no boundary between good real life or bad real life. Yeah, yeah and then nobody's really doing it, it's just patterns. It's just different bodies doing their things. Just actor patterns, yeah. Yeah, like dogs are barking and cats are meowing and assholes are being assholes and pedophiles are being pedophiles. Everybody. Everybody does their jobs. And then. On stage. Isn't it all happening in this immediacy?

Absolutely, yeah. I mean not in this immediacy, I don't see any assholes here. Immediacy is doing a lot of dance. Oh you're saying the immediacy. Yeah, yeah. Who cares what appears and. Yeah, so that's the easy, easy way of living, the effortless way of living. When the perfectly redundant separate centre or self to which everything is related is fired, life is going on just the same way. And as Moira said, this is really important because people are looking for the eternal bliss. They're looking for pleasure. They're looking for enlightened people to be kind and nice. I know quite a few assholes. I don't know how enlightened they are but they believe they are.

Well how many people do I know? Yeah. Yeah, how many people? Yeah. Yeah, how many people do you know? None. None. There is, and exactly this is the point. There is just a shell of the body and life essence expressing through whatever is available. If someone is the dog, it will bark. If someone is an asshole, it will stay the asshole. Whether the ego has been questioned or it is believed or it isn't believed. Like people are often talking about these big gurus that had sexual scandals all around them or a collection of Rolls Royce. Yeah. Or whatever they had. Like how come, you know, enlightened, he should be a superhuman.

He should be super kind. He should be superior morality and only loving and never getting angry. Nonsense. There's nobody there to be superior. There's nobody there to be blissful or to be moral. So if the posture is of the dog, they will bark because that's what nature designed them for. And what do I care? They're not in my backyard. Yeah. Do what they like. Yeah. And everybody does, you know, another question and another problem that people have with the spiritual teachings. Okay. So if there is no me, there is no responsibility. I'll just go and rape all ladies on the street just for fun. You try and do it.

You know, if the pattern of that doesn't exist in this body, there's nobody to do that. There's nobody to start doing it or stop doing that. So really what is going on, whether you're in a homophobic relationship, whether you're in the schoolyard beingandid, you'll talking to this stuff because you've had issues. Anyway, whether it be with the uterus, what they're asking you for, or whether they're asking you to change your destiny, for the purpose of loving and cereal, an ordinary life, or no, they do croaking and the whole evac đ присang is when you have a really secret— it's real life. ego is not a fact it has never been real it's only a belief just like Santa Claus or or or God or angels or whatever so if I believe I have an ego okay oh I believe the natural or whatever raw food diet is better than vegan or whatever who cares who cares about thoughts that are appearing in that whatever I mean ultimately everyone is that already the carpet is that the chair is that the most egotistic egoistic narcissistic asshole is that but it can't be not because everything's that everything and I have it whatever my natural design is will just function the way it wants to function just as it always did yeah it doesn't make like if a suicide bomber will pass me does it mean that my will jump and stop it because when you sign about teachers spiritual teachers I it didn't happen to me but I dogged in a monk but I did it because I was a monk but I did it because I was a monk but I did it because I was a monk behave as a sexual predator and I just did it not to the police or because it wasn't it was over age but I I still went to because I just did and even the people who have thoughts come up that if I don't have any holds barred I'm worried that this monster will come out of me you know and that's just another thought like I've never had a thought like that in my life and I don't have the thought that those thoughts are going to turn up that doesn't matter that just thought yeah otherwise you're setting up resistance yeah and even the resistance is just another natural happening yes so that really leaves us in a place where there is nothing to do absolutely nothing to do nowhere to go no one to be nothing to see it's really just this moment as it is unaltered unmodified uncorrected and nothing else and just recognizing it just just recognizing it even that is so-called none of it none of my doing they sometimes call it grace so they call it life or whatever it's it happens or it doesn't and and it doesn't matter ultimately it doesn't matter because for the darkness for the life for the space it doesn't have preferences whether it is a spiritual or a spiritual thing it's a cat or a dog or a human or an asshole or the human who believes in having a separate center or ego or human who doesn't believe in having separate center or ego it doesn't really make any difference and being that life expressing through all the patterns through through every form you just express us every single thought every single sound there's no one to say that that thought or that sound or that body or that whatever is better or worse than superior or not it's only the game the play the belief if I believe myself to be a person I want to be a happy person I want to be fulfilled person I want to be enlightened person because being a person part of being a person comes up in the package with the sense of dissatisfaction and desire for fulfillment that's how the play has been designed if I the defined myself as anything less than totality I'm already deprived from myself as totality so I want something else I want something more something different more pleasurable or people would say now I'm not after pleasure I just want the truth well why because it gives me a pleasure it makes me happy if I have the truth oh I believe I have it so it doesn't matter I kind of make it sound a little bit ugly and shallow but this is really just a little bit of a joke I'm not saying that I'm not saying that I'm not saying that I'm not saying that I'm just thinking I imagine that I'm thinking that I'm not there then I would be equating myself with so much more more than but only being called language from God then I get up and the collection of myself is in a very good state in of only being Lord of серpents so I do think I'm more in it and that I don't see any big appetites to it or just in myself enjoying little things in what I can enjoy or not become like in a certain way like and then I'm just in a deprivation environment I'm movement of I don't have it and I want it and I will have to do anything to get it and to become to add to myself or become this one this is this is the part of illusion this is the play you are that already you are the totality you cannot not be it there is nothing that is not it it's nothing that is separated from that totality life essence you know they're German because they're not French they've got something different to look at and so unfortunately you sort of set up there is a totality then they go oh well then there has to be something I must be not that so therefore I have to be a unit which is super helpful to me especially like you and you in the early days with various people broke down like it's not a whole unit that ever comes to mind there's only a word or a few words in a row there's no ego mind thought just some words popping up you know just the more it's broken down and in each moment it's just a little bit of a change and moment that's really only one or two things popping in yeah yeah a lot of guts yes chipping the chipping away kind of thing mm-hmm this is yeah has the clouds metaphor is good for that to you just there's a sky in the clouds flip by but yeah I can see how if you got a totality then oh well I'm not the totality I must be a solid object that's right yeah or something less Yesterday...

Yesterday I've tried something.. When? I had this experience where I was just sitting on the lawn and fumbling a blade of grass. And it was like, oh, I was just really feeling the blade of grass. And then I realized, oh my God, this is alive. This thing's alive. This thing's alive. And it's, you know, it's like, oh, it's radiating consciousness. And just like me and just like everything's radiating consciousness. So that helped me with the term of oneness and totality. So that if I'm harming, like if I'm, if I'm aggressive and I'm just, you know. And the grass doesn't want to be fondled. Or pulled or, you know, torn.

I was actually just, you know, it was, it was nice. It was a nice experience, but it just left me. I've never had that kind of freedom where I thought, oh, everything has got a vibration. Everything is alive. Everything. It was, it came true. Yeah, beautiful. Because of this. Because it is. It is. Absolutely. One step. So one step. And the eye that wants to, like I saw in that too, just the greed. Just wanting, just taking, taking, taking to kind of form this. Fill the void. Yeah, fill a void. Well, it can never be filled. And it's just this, and it's like, I actually have everything I need.

I don't need anything. So I turned it around. It's like, oh. I've got everything I need. And I've got everything to give. Yes. Hey. Hey. Yeah. Back to the teachers that, so then, you know, like what you, you know, that, what you realised yesterday, how can you ever then go out and harm? And I know the word harm is a concept. Yeah. Yeah. There is no, and that's why I just think people that have misunderstanding, how do you then go out and? Yeah, you, you, now you've collapsed. Yeah. You, now you've collapsed. The conditioning drops away. Yeah. Well, what can you do? You can't touch life if everything is life.

So you're going to tread on the blade of grass or pull it out or mow it. You're going to kill the flea that's biting you or the, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And there is another aspect which is kind of, you know, it, it sounds like justification of doing evil, but really, it's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's, it's not like justification of doing evil. But really, if there is nobody who does evil, then maybe life does it. Like I heard the story, a lot of stories of people whose life were absolutely broken.

Like the son was not only, he was alcoholic. He devastated the whole family. Children are in mental institution and on the end he killed himself and the mother is telling the story and she's understanding 15, 20 years later that if not for this, she would never, ever forget. found her spiritual way to awakening this is this is horrifying but in the bigger schemes of things yeah that yeah some suffering actually wakes people up and of course when when i look at okay but spiritual person enlightened person doing things like this horrible it shouldn't have happened maybe they are not enlightened how can they be like this now i'm i'm actually taking on the perspective of human morality and i'm becoming a human while as bob said the totality doesn't prefer human to ants so what do we do yeah from the ant's perspective everybody's horrible then everything's horrible absolutely that's going to happen around here there's only life nobody lives on life life lives on life itself because out of life more life comes if you didn't need life you know how could you procreate a child life goes on and all this diversity in different ways out of life more life comes and when you look at it you know this body somebody said was made up i don't know how many million cells i'm trying to get a nice of it millions of cells you can't see those souls yeah trillions we're thinking about them you can scratch yourself and you're scratching well killing thousands of cells there now when you relate this body to the universe as such this body be less than the grains of sand on the beach each body would be smaller than that even and isn't it thousands of those cells dying all over the in the manifestation the manifestation care for something that's less than and doesn't well i sort of care if i you know i'm standing on somebody's foot and they let me know yeah well they retaliate if you don't that is cultural conditioning it just kind of ends up being a democracy so the biggest things have more bacteria holding hands so they get their way like the cat has less bacteria holding hands so in the democracies the mass the larger group wins That's just how it is.

Well, that's what's happening. A larger group in the universe is winning. There does seem to be an aggression in the human species that doesn't necessarily appear in... Just an aggression. And why? Because of the thinking. Yes, self-centeredness, self-will, the ego. That's it. Tense of separation. Apparently, the science has investigated over the centuries and eons since the beginning of humanity, the level of aggression is massively going down. We are much less aggressive than we were three, six hundred years ago, or a thousand years ago, where women were burned at stake for being pretty because somebody else would say she was having an affair with the devil or whatever.

And the wars that were happening between the tribes, they were much... They were so much more like right now, you don't even have to lock your door and you probably get away with not getting raped all your life and not getting someone breaking into your house all your life. And you go on the street and there are millions of people walking and nobody's aggressive, nobody's hostile. There are situations, but now we are looking from this perspective, from this lifetime. And in my lifetime, even in my lifetime, it seems like it's better because I was growing up in a country when there was a lot of movement against women.

There was a lot of movement against the regime when I was younger. And it feels like we are again relating to our lifetime and our perspective that yes, we are so vicious, we are so ugly and we are so aggressive. Comparing to what? Comparing to humans a thousand years ago? No, comparing to ants. Okay, right. But humans... It's the media as well. Yes. You're right what you're saying because sometimes when I've been, say, walking the dog and you're near the curb and I've often thought, you know, any car can just deliberately, if they're a psycho, just decide to run me over. And I think people don't, because most people don't do stuff like that.

It's only, you know, really. So what you're saying is true. It's interesting. Yeah, it's been a research and I read it a couple of times in... Steven Pink has written a book now which chases the light. It's called The Last Three or Four Hundred Years. But still... But there's a rise in mental illness though. You're right, you're right. And also the fact that, you know, the crime is just kind of a social conditioning which is a habit of thinking, you know. The socialisation is basically giving us the way to think, the morality. And of course the altruistic thoughts are more popular because they will kind of procreate in the society better.

Or extrovert thoughts or whatever. There are certain dynamics going on in the pattern of thinking that shape the society. It's almost like thinking has its own way to evolve and certain thoughts are more successful than other thoughts. And the social thoughts have much bigger chances to survive because... than the aggressive thoughts, obviously. But as you say, yes, there is a lot of suffering. There is a lot of mental illness. It seems like languages are growing. We get more and more words. We are creating more and more words, more and more language. So there is more and more noise in the head. The life seems to go...

take place faster and faster because attention is just running into one thing to another. It's just, you know, like... Farmers, five, six, seven hundred years ago they were living much slower. They were connected with the earth. Now you have to commute fast. The cars are faster and faster. The TV advertisements shorter and shorter so you can pass the time. You can talk more of them. Consumerism, that is... We are bombarded with that mental noise. And that, of course, is painful. And that creates mental illnesses and turmoil and anxiety and stress. And this stuff is actually more evident than aggression. And this is also built around the self-centre.

Self-centre, which means... You know, the anxiety is actually fear, any sort of a fear, any sort of inadequacy. It kind of accelerates even more grabbing and grasping for becoming, for getting something. But that is aggressive. That grasping and the... If you want to see it, it's great. Yeah, it feels to me that it's the quality of it. It's like taking, taking. I need... Yeah, there's something... Yeah, you can see it. ...aggressive. I was just partly countering that as it was less immediate triggering. So like a lion was still alive. A lion was still a meat, you know, on some kind of trigger, turn around and eat you.

Whereas a human is less likely to do that to that extent and that quickly, you know. There'll be some kind of built-in restraint that we probably maybe didn't used to have or at least the animal, you know, doesn't have. And we probably won't do something so extreme in that particular scenario. So there's a few swings and roundabouts, I suppose. Yeah. You want to say something, Bob? The sense of the ego is insecurity, I suppose. Yeah, it's a vulnerability. So we want to try and protect ourselves from being this insecurity and vulnerable person. If it's not there, you know, if you didn't have a concept about anybody else and they didn't have a concept about you, who could be superior to you?

Who could be inferior to you without that concept? What would you want of the other persons if it was the one essence expressing in the periods of that? And that would suggest that enlightened people would be kind and nice and they are not. Because there are patterns. There is no other person. There is no one there. So to a certain extent, as you can see on your own example, Bob, Bob used to be quite aggressive and quite anxious and quite violent 50 years, 60 years ago, 70 years ago. He said that prison sentence. Yeah. Oh, you had one of those. I didn't know about that.

That's fun. Had what? A prison sentence. A prison sentence. But anyway, this pattern has dropped off. Go on, sorry. The patterns of personality that were so anxious because it didn't come from pure aggression. It came from anxiety, that violence and all that personality patterns. Fear, yes. Yes. Shabbat, yeah. Absolutely, yeah. And then feeling inadequate and feeling, doubting everyone and feeling that people who look at you, they have something against you. So you attack them before they attack you. So that sort of a behavior, it dropped off. It's not there anymore. But for people who maybe just realized the truth, maybe a couple of weeks ago, they probably need another 40 years before they will stop being nasty.

Because there is nobody there. Because there isn't a person who now decides to stop being violent. There is nobody there who stops. It's just rewiring. It's just rewiring a brain with completely new conditioning in which you don't want anything from the other person. And also, realization is not that someone has realized or is realized. There is nobody home right now. So if the habit patterns are still perpetuating themselves for long enough, that person may die, asshole. Who knows? I mean, that's what we can observe with some of this so-called... enlightenment. It's all quite random. Because like my teacher said, it's joy. People might say, Jane, or whatever.

They go along sweeping the pavement so that they don't step on any creatures. But someone from another practice might spend their money on great spiritual teachers who awaken people more. So they both could be contributing to less violence. You know? Or more violence. It's also random. It's just also... You can't really even say that one kind of activity is less violent than another in many ways. Exactly. And that's... Well, look at Gandhi. Practicing peace and... for most of his life. He suffered accordingly because of it all. But then... when India got its independence, Gandhi wanted to keep them all together and... But... Who was it?

The other one? I forget his name. The Muslim bloke wanted the partition. So they got the partition. And all the Muslims were sent up north to... Where they are now. What's it? What is it they're in? Pakistan? Hmm? Yeah, Pakistan. Pakistan and the other one? Bangladesh. Bangladesh. And the Hindus were sent down south. And they're walking down. One's going up. One's creeping. Two big line are going up. The other's coming down. And they're a couple hundred yards apart. Or something less than that, I think they were. And one bloke got dirty on it and threw a stone over into the Muslims and hurt them. And they all raced across the road and killed 10,000.

Yeah. Or more. What was the point of all these peaceful... Tell us about this First World War. The... the plague. How many was killed there? Well, 60,000 killed in the war. Yeah. And when the barmasters came, all people were sent back to their countries where they came from all parts of the world. And they took with them the soldiers and they took with them a thing called the Spanish flu. And that wiped out 80 million people. Not even mentioned. That was injected into the American army by Americans. It was done in purpose. Why? To wipe out people. Yeah. Yeah. So really, there's nobody doing anything.

It's just the dynamic in the nature. Like, I remember when I was younger, I was studying some other teachings that were saying that really everything is the sum of the environmental influences. You could even say, you could even read the stars or whatever. When the planets get too close to each other, people start getting aggressive, just like when someone passes you very close when you walk on the street, you get tense. And that tension will find a way to express itself. And there is nobody doing anything. There is... Whole nations get tense. And then... Because of different forces, who knows, the whole universe contributes to every event, moment to moment, because it is one.

It is oneness. And then the war comes out. And we blame Hitler or we blame the certain movement or nation or whatever. But really, they are patterns of energy, waves of energy expressing themselves through the empty shells of the body. Life is just expressing this particular energy. And different ages. If we look at the whole thing as really no individuals, just movement of life, then everything becomes easy and clear. Like why would the volcano Vesuvio be so dirty on Pompeii? Why would it do it? Like what an evil, evil force. Same with people. People are same, made of the same substance of nature. And they express the same substance of nature.

As volcanoes, tsunamis, storms, wars are the same. And of course now, on top of it, we have the story that there is a self-centered, there is belief in entity. And that belief in entity can be broken. And when it is broken, life gets easier. There is less suffering. And as we all know, people who hurt, hurt people. I mean hurt people hurt people. If someone is happy, they want to share the happiness. If they hurting, they hurting us. If they hurting, they hurting others. It's just as good as the belief, you know, the gods are using the volcanoes against us. You know, it's just a certain amount of belief.

Yeah, absolutely. But at the same time, we know that when we are happy and peaceful, we want to call friends and just share the happiness and peace. But when we are suffering, very often, you know, the psychology has actually figured out that the most vicious acts of violence and rape are often done by the victims of very, very similar crimes. Because these people have not been seen and heard and understood for their entire lives. And the only way to actually be seen and heard and understood by someone is to put that someone in the very same situation. So that's the suffering driving more suffering. So that aspect is completely valid in the appearance, even though the sufferer is completely believed in phantom.

But because it is a phantom. Yeah. Because it is believed in and that very same life essence that manifested the whole appearance, that whole appearance is believed into existence. Just the same way as the, you know, the chair is empty. It's nothing. It is believed into existence. We all believing it into existence moment to moment. Same with the sufferer. And that very sufferer believed into existence is totally capable of horrible things, even though it doesn't do it. It doesn't do it. Life created the sufferer. Life expresses through Hitler as the violence. It's all only life. It's just as much a concept that you can't get to peace via war.

That whole thing is still a concept too. Yeah. You know, you're still bounding something with a label. Yes. Wouldn't it be imperative to get the believed in doer, see the falseness of it, and let life take its natural course? Absolutely. That's the only game we can play. That's the only game in the town. Because in that whole game, this is possible. If everyone recognised it. There isn't. Yeah. Life would still go on. Life would have a lot longer. Life would still go on, but there would be a lot more contented patterns in it. There's a documentary on Facebook, I think it was yesterday or something like that.

This female octopus. She lays thousands of little eggs. Thousands of 10, five, six, seven, eight. Ten, five, six thousand or more. Then she guards them so they won't be eaten or lost or anything like that. She doesn't eat for months. When they start to hatch, she guards them until they get a certain size. But she dies. She hasn't fed or hasn't done anything. Gets exhausted, all her energy. She just dies. Is that a purpose? Probably. What a sacrifice. What a mother. And all those, even though she protected so many of them, there's still a heck of a lot of them going to die and be killed.

But there'll be some survive and do the same things you've done. The groupies isn't out feeding them. I guess a big one, you know, there's this whole belief about being an individual or whatever. And people believe that so strongly. So they don't want to be annihilated. Or empty or the realisation that there's... That's why the recognition you never can be. Because you're not the pattern, shape or form. You are the essence itself. That's the same as all those octopi, whatever they like to do. They're just that essence itself. You know what I mean? So pattern, shape, patterns, form, patterns disappear. All pattern, shapes and forms are mire.

They're illusionary. Only seemingly so. Appearances. But the essence is never there. It's just a form. It's a form. It's a form. It's a form. It's a form. It's a form. It's a form. It's a form. It's a form. It's a form. It's a form. Appearance has never been contaminated or corrupted or touched by anything at all. What does it matter what is said, thought or done? What activities take place? If it were me, I wouldn't like it to happen. Yeah. That's what we don't do. You say you are that essence, what were you before you were born? Try to find out when did you begin?

You can't pinpoint a time then you begin and what you were before that conceptualisation came upon you. thinking, you can't remember your birth. But isn't there a sort of innate knowing that there never was a time you were not. There never was a time you will not be. There never was a time. Specs, it's full stop. What is it? Better press the play button again. Just stick the microphone under his nose. Right, right, cause it's a forceful one. That's the one he hopes he's waiting for. Stop. Stop. Full stop. Yeah, so that's the life without the relative knowledge. Yeah, that's the point of self-centre. That's the only game in the town.

See, with our nature, the universe is functioning out there. And it's resolving itself, it's quite naturally. We try to alter it, modify it, correct it and change it, and that's where our problems come from. When they tell you to let it rest in its uncontrived singularity, just relax into it, the way it's going. And realise that even as we're sitting here, we're breathing and beating your heart, growing hair and you're thinking, oh, it's not just anything. Nobody's taking any of those things into consideration, it's just happening naturally. But when it comes to the thinking, oh, I don't like that, or what do they think of me, and blah, blah, blah.

So Shakespeare says, nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so. And thinking is a spontaneous functioning too. And it's not a problem until you say, I think. You put a conceptual name and root for a name and form on it, then look at all the trouble we get ourselves into. And the world, the seeming world of humanity gets into it. The notion of fight club is like a split personality is just fighting itself, like being them, as it is, you know. Not being the other one that's not even real. What can you do about it? It's already there. Yeah. And every conflict is also a conflict between two thoughts, really.

Sometimes more than two, but just thoughts. Like what else can be in conflict? Yeah. And that's how it goes. Good, bad, pleasant, painful, happy, sad. Swing from one end of the pendulum to the other and you're in trouble. Leave it resting in its equilibrium in the middle. It's like two drops of water having fisticuffs. Wouldn't be duality, would it, Bob? Wouldn't be duality. No. And that's what we've got to realise. There's absolutely no duality in non-duality. So duality and non-duality are just two labels we put on the same thing. And there's no one in its stick. Each stick's got two ends to it. No one-sided coin.

Each coin's got two sides to it. But there's still only the one. One about, I think it's like one wave saying, why are you sitting up there higher than me? What are you trying to prove? The ocean. The ocean talking to me. Yeah, all conflict is conceptual. It's on the inner head. Just going back to the non-conceptual awareness and to the fact that there is no separate self. Even if it seems like there is something to relate to, there isn't. So it is just believed into existence. So if that's what the universe or the totality, which is what I am, wants to experience right now, well, let's enjoy it.

Okay, there is a self-centred, there is a me that is resisting something. Okay, that's the show that I am playing right now. This moment will never be the same again. If that's what's on the channel and I can't change the channel because there is no me, let's enjoy it. I mean, to even see the movement of resistance is fascinating. It's incredible. It's incredible to actually see the whole play for what it is. The play of thought, the play of desire, the movement to become or to add to myself or to run away from something. All those movements are incredible, are just what a show. So to see them for what they are, and of course nobody is seeing them because if there was a me looking, then I would suggest, okay, let's look who is looking.

But it's just the knowing of it. Ultimately, the unlocated, all-pervading knowing, pure knowing, which is called awareness. That's why they call it awareness because it's about knowing. So there is an awareness of that content, of that resistance or that me centre or wanting to stop it or wanting to get something or whatever is the content, whatever is currently playing. The volcano is exploding or the anger is exploding. Okay. Or there is sadness or there is a flood of tears or whatever is the content. That's what the totality is playing out right now for its own amazement. So let's be amazed. It is, and if not the amazement, that may be some sort of a pattern that is unavailable at this moment.

But all the turmoil is witnessed from its opposite, from the peace. Okay. And it is not from the peace and silence. So whatever is happening in the content is known as a content. It's known from its background. And I am that background. I am that silent knowing, aware of the turmoil, of the grabbing, wanting to become or resisting or whatever, whatever is happening. If the happening is the ego that I believe to existence, that I believe is real, you're right. I am watching that believed in entity from this emptiness of screen, the awareness of presence from the being. If you can't enjoy the Muppets, you might as well enjoy the two guys commenting on the Muppets.

Yeah. Whatever is possible to enjoy. And if the joy is not available, that's fine too. It doesn't have to be completely, you know, it's constantly changing. It's ever fresh. If the joy is not available, there is pure knowing, pure completely neutral knowing. Sometimes this knowing becomes pretty blissful, especially if it doesn't really waste the attention. It's not wasted in the details of the story. Look at Steve. I've been staring at him. I am all night. Knock a couple of letters off. That's Miami. Miami. Actually, yes. I like it. Yeah. And I was looking at it and I also saw only I am because from the perspective that Bob and I are looking, it's just I am.

Cool. Yeah, there you go. Yeah, so we started from labels and definitions. Life is a beach. What a nice label for life. And now if you fully believe it, yeah, that's really amazing. Whatever you believe, whatever the life believes in the pattern is going to be set up for finding the evidence. You know, if I believe life is a beach, I'll find the proof for this. If I believe life is a wonderful thing, I'll find proof for it. This is self-fulfilling prophecy. But again, you know, I don't take on a belief. It happens. It happens because of every moment. Every moment the universe forming that pattern, it made it kind of, it made it the way so it only resonate with certain thoughts and it doesn't with the others because that's the tuning of the instrument.

So it may resonate with that or life is a beach or life is adventure or whatever the definition is. But it's again, it's putting a label on the mystery. What is life? Nobody can even define life. You know, even death is, they say is an opposite of life, but nobody can define death either because life goes on in the dead body also. It goes on even kind of more vibrant like apparently some of the birds or insects, they can actually see from above and a decomposing body looks like a city from the airplane full of lights flashing, you know. It depends on the setup of the instrument.

There's a lot of movement there, a lot of life. A lot of maggots and germs and bacteria. They're alive. Yeah, they're alive. They smell. They're something. I don't have it very often but I just had a slight frustrated thought around like it just seems like millions of times it's got to be seen through, like millions of times. And it just seems like it's going to be seen through. Yeah. It just goes straight back all the time. And, but then because of that long discussion we had last time, was it on Tuesday? There's a lot of discussion with the people who get frustrated that, you know, and generally and during that one I wasn't frustrated because I see so many times that, but yeah, thanks to that big discussion we had, you know, we just turn up here because we do.

You know, life turns up here. We have these big discussions really do, you know, negate a point, negate a frustrated thought just like that, you know. It's kind of cool. Yeah, it is. Yeah. Yeah. So the final thought would be since we started from labels and finish on labels defining life or defining whatever is, is not by any means to try and stop it because there is no you to try and stop it. But just to recognize them for what they are, you know. And labels are fantastic. I mean, gosh, even playing with them. I mean, I had for probably quite a while the tendency or the habit to actually contradict every judgment that would come up like, oh, what a horrible day.

No, no, no. That's what it was. It was just it was just for fun. It was just to actually, you know, when you question thought and take up the opposite and see how true the opposite can be. It is not to choose the better one. It is to see them both as just options, just thoughts and throw them to the rubbish. You don't need the better definition or worse definition. It's like self-esteem. If you have low self-esteem, now you're going to have high self-esteem. We don't need the esteem at all. Throw it to the rubbish. You know, think, why would you need esteem? Why would you need the definition for what is life?

This is a mystery. Just savor it. Just discover it moment to moment, fresh and new. Why to put the boundary or label on it? Why limit it in any ways? But again, you're not doing it. The labels may pop up because of the conditioning, because of the habit patterns. But then labels are just part of the content. Let's say that, you know, the anger of volcano is exploding and then the label comes up. Oh, volcano exploding. I don't like it. That's just part of the content. And that as a content, it is just passing fantasy. It's just a phenomenon. It's nothing to get attached or get too fussy about.

It's just something that shows up, something that plays out right at this moment. And still, I'm the stillness. I'm the screen. I'm the awareness. So we started from labels and we can end up on labels and enjoy the labels. And you can see more and more how unhappy the people are who, you know, as you get unstuck from things, you just see more and more how unhappy the people who are stuck in all those things really are. And, you know, just small things really bug them that would once have bugged me and don't bug me so much anymore at all. And you have the example?

Millions of them. But, you know, I can just... Just one. I'm a show of details. I've really worked my foot about this. I flash in an image, what I learnt, and then I move on. And I think that's why I have to go back to actually even be able to come up with any and re-look at the material. But, yeah, essentially... Yeah, examples are good because it kind of brings the context. Yeah. It's just made me realise the way I talk about things. I think it's really important. I think it's really important. I think it's really important. I think it's really important. I think it's really important.

And it's really important that I take in information. It's so fast because I don't stay long enough to take in any details at all. But, anyway, so... But, I mean, you can take a soap opera, and you see, oh, there's people stewing about this particular aspect. Thank God, that one never bothers me anymore. Or, I don't know, one might be... But give us examples from the soap opera. Okay. Okay, so somebody claims a part of the house you're sharing with other people. They claim this shelf or that shelf, you know. That's fantastic. That was a huge deal. Yes. And then now you just don't care whatsoever.

I know. And then you see other people caring about all these little things. And you go, wow, isn't it so nice when some of that moves on? Beautiful. Now we are all on the same page as you and it's totally appreciated. You're right. Those little things that used to bug us, like yes, the ownership of things or the self-importance or what they think about me. Life is so difficult if it's not easy to do this A, B and C all this way. How difficult life's going to be. How am I going to cope if I can't walk to the bathroom and do this over there?

My thing was to have big conditioning around. It's too hard. It's all too hard. It's all exhausting and it's just too hard. Everything's too hard. Wave and start. It's going to be way too hard. And so those little deep doing anything and doing things in particular ways were just so rigid. And many people still have some of those things. Like wow. Yeah. Isn't it so nice? Yeah. You don't care about what you want. Especially with the shoulds and shouldn'ts. You know, people shouldn't hurt others or people shouldn't eat meat or people shouldn't. Yeah, Robin's got big ones on show. They've brought up a lot of shoulds.

I know. Yeah. That's a big one for him. It's not such one for me but yeah. But certainly too hard and too easy. And then if there's nobody there, who is there to should or shouldn't do anything? It's life doing everything. There's nobody there who has any saying. Any saying about anything. So it's uncompromising. Values and morals. Imagine being stuck with that lot. Absolutely. You've probably never been brought to that lot. No. And also believing that my values and morals are higher or better than yours. Yeah. That's a bugging one. That's horrible because yeah. That's the projection. That's again creating a separation. You might just be sitting in your face, you know.

That's true. Yeah. There's a projection. Yeah. And that's yeah. That's just a habit really. That's just. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Thank you very much. Thank you.
