So, I guess we can start. Yeah. Well, hello. Trying to get a nice return. Hi, Bob. Have you been here before? Yeah, a few times. Kristen. Well, no, more than that. Kristen. Thank you, Kristen. What would be expected. Yeah, you get the right old. Yeah. And working, you know. Yeah, true. Okay. Okay. So, your names. Everybody knows everybody. The usual old thing. There's nothing of an old time. Mr. Inge. Victor. Oh, Kat. Yes. Tony. Justin. Kristen. Rachel. Jerry. Mark. And you all know what we talk about. They call it non-duality. Non-duality has become the great big name that's going around all the differences these days.
When I first started looking at this, non-duality was hardly ever heard of. I wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't. I don't understand what it really means. Non-duality is only a way of putting up as one. They say one without a second. They put that one without a second off because even the idea of one implies it could be up to them. It's only that one. Everything but one.
The universe is one. individual is a totality. It's all that one essence vibrating, patterning and experiencing and expressing as if we've taken on the idea we are separate entities, individuals, persons. And that's been going on for thousands of years. Also for thousands of years there's been people who have understood and recognised this and pointed it out. And that's where all the scriptures, all the religion and all the great texts pointing to it have come from. People that are trying to describe that non-dual, one without a second. I'm going to do something today I don't usually do. I've got word of mouth. I've got a plate from, what's your name?
Zona. Where from Zona? I'm from Columbia, South America. Pardon? Columbia. Columbia. Where did you hear about this? A friend of mine. Oh. You've met with a friend of mine? Mm-hmm. And he said that I would find it interesting. Welcome, welcome. She would find it interesting. The friend of her told her about you. Well, see if you do find it interesting. You'll be able to have a listen. You may be, you will. Maybe you won't. I'm going to read something from this and have a look at it. This points out clearly the non-duality. It's been read by thousands, millions. And they say it is the secret of all secrets.
The secret is overlocked. It's an open secret. It's there as obvious and evident to everybody. And very few stop and realise that. But it is. It's not the only one that's pointed it out. This is beautiful, I think. Thousands of years old. Still applies today. Without all the tremulance they put on things today about it. No way, it's just mental or this conceptualist idea or that idea, and confuse it all with all the thinking processes. Put them to simplicity. It starts off, the Universe was neither born, nor maintained, nor dissolved. And that's what Rama, Visnu and Śiva is. Rama the creator, Visnu the maintainer, and Śiva the discipline.
All it is. person, this is a disorder. But it was never created in the first place. Nor maintained, nor dissolved. This is a plain truth. And that's all you need to know if you can make it. This is a plain truth. Nothing was born. Have a look at this universe. When was this thing we call the universe born? What was conceived and was born out of it? Was there some womb that developed out of it? I won't take its shape and form. But it can't. There's nothing. But it appears, seemingly so. The basic screen of pure being, and there's nobody who's not being right now, awareness, there's nobody who's not aware right now, and stillness, realises it's all appearing in that stillness.
Stillness is right here right now. You, me and everything else is appearing in that stillness. And we think we're separate, separate, something separate. But we're not. We're not part of seeing the stillness. The basic screen of pure being, awareness, stillness devoid of all the moving shadow pictures of name and form of the universe is the soul eternal existence. Not S-O-U-L. But S-O-L-E. The soul, the one and only, eternal existence. Is that screen. Now you've got a movie screen. You see all those on this movie screen, there's all sorts of things, cowboys and Indians, the cowboys are getting killed, and the Indians getting killed and the endings and what not.
Where are all the corpses after the movie stops? Where are all the activities taking place in that screen? Has the screen ever been corrupted or distorted or any of the images appeared on it? Well take what we just pointed out. It's actually the universe. It's neither born nor dissolved nor maintained. It's pure being, awareness, stillness. The basic screen of that stillness. Have a look out there and see and realise what's this manifestation appearing in? Behind it all, though it's moving and seemingly, behind it all is that basic stillness, emptiness, which they call in Buddhism a cognising emptiness. They say it's a cognising, cognising means a knowing for an intelligence.
It's not that we are cognising the universe, we think we are cognising. We are appearing in it, like everything else is appearing in it. It's a cognising emptiness. And they make the statement there and then, if you look at it and read it out, emptiness is form. That's what the Buddha pointed out a couple of thousand years ago. He says emptiness is form. Pointing out that all these forms, shapes and forms, as I said, devoid of the, of the shadow pictures of name and form, these forms are named. Bodies, persons, individuals, trees, flowers, and everything are names on the form. This universe of name and form, the shadow pictures, is that basic screen of pure awareness, stillness.
Could it appear on anything? You go to sleep at night, what is there? Stillness. Emptiness. What's going on in that basic deep sleep? Nothing. What goes on when you wake up? And the knowingness is there. I slept well. How would you know that you slept well if you weren't referring to something that was going on when there was no thinking or no minding going on at all? And yet the heart was beating, the hair and fingernails going, the food was being digested, cells being replaced, breathing. There was no name and form going on. No labelling whatsoever. The mind was in abeyance. The universe was still functioning without that.
And look at this universe. What do they call it? In Buddhism, and others have called this universe, this manifestation, is Maya. They call it Maya. Maya is illusion. It is an illusionary manifestation. A manifestation of the mind. A manifestation of the mind. They call itcoin. They call it the manifestation of institution. They call it what they call it a manifestation of name and form. That's the way they put it. Sat Chitta Nanda. Nama Rupa are the five factors of this manifestation. Cat is existence. Chitta is consciousness or awareness. And Ananda is the name and form. And they'll say Sat Chitta Nanda, the existence consciousness, being, is a reality.
They are the manifestation. They are the vibrating patterns in which the suit appear in the stillness and silence. Nam-a-rupa, name and form. And look at that. All these conceptual images, you, me and everything else, we put labels or names on. And the shape and form is distinct from what the things are, so we put the different labels on the shapes and forms and try and label them. But the thing is, we take the name and form, the appearance to be real. And it never was. Pointed out here, some may argue, and not some, but the majority argue, that this universe of duality, multiple existences, that's what the universe is, multiple existences, not just one existence, it's sparing, in the multiple, in a myriad of diverse ways, it might pattern shapes and forms.
The mind is an illusionary pattern. It's a factual second reality. Clearly seen by the senses and operated by the mind. Isn't that so? Seen by the senses and operated by the mind. What would happen if it didn't have a sensual effect on you and you didn't operate it? This is good, this is bad, this is something else. So that's what it's appearing as. Clearly seen by the senses and operated by the mind. But then, are the senses anything apart from mind? Well are they? You looked at that and seen. All these senses are going on. Aren't they taking place in this thing we call mind?
That's a chair, that's a carpet, that's a feeling, that's the itch I've got to scratch. Clearly seen and operated by the mind. But then, are the senses anything apart from the mind? Can the senses function without the support of the mind? Well if there's no thinking going on, what can you say about anything? You can't. So it is the support of the mind that's giving us a very receiving reality. You can't recognise anything without the mind. Like even if you look and there is somebody passing, someone you know, if you don't relate it to the memory, you wouldn't know who it is. And the same with every object, every form.
So it all appears in this thing we call mind. This mind which we have. But then, what is this mind? What is this mind? See we've put everything in the mind, but look, what is this mind? Except a bundle of thoughts. And isn't that a fact? All this thing we call mind, show me a mind. Can anyone show me a thing called mind? We speak in this belief through conditional reinforcement every day, every night, in this thing we call mind. In this thing we call a mind. And we say, my mind. Whose mind? This conceptual image, do you think it is a mind? What is this mind but a bundle of thoughts?
Is there such a thing as mind without thinking? Again, what is that mind in deep sleep? When there's no thinking going on, the mind is in abeyance, it's out of the road for a while. But has the living stopped? Has the beingness stopped? Has life itself, as we know it, ceased? Because there's no mind going. Look out there in the manifestation. What mind is there out there that's separating, dividing it or labelling it? Has the mind formed a separate entity or an individual out there? But yet it's a dualistic manifestation. And it couldn't be anything other. Could there be day without night? See we've labelled it, day and night.
Could there be silence without sound? We've labelled it silence without sound. Could there be movement without stillness? These things are quite apparent. But what are they without the light? They're just a natural functioning, a natural happening, a natural movement of that intelligence energy, which is intelligence, which is patterning, shaping, forming. All is manifest. And what are thoughts? What a mind except a bundle of thoughts. But what are thoughts except evanescent ripples in the still, limited, ocean of being, awareness, self, which is the soul, existence without a second. So they haven't moved away from that soul, existence without a second. Yet in the vibration, that's all that the ripples of the mind are, a vibration of energy, seemingly patterning, shaping, forming.
But they're still taking place on that appearing in that soul screen of stillness and emptiness. Conceptualise and talk about or thinking something, or without, can you do it without conceptualising, without thinking? And what must you realise or recognise from that? The same thing they've been telling you down throughout the ages. I am that. And what is the that? That is the cognising emptiness. That is the pure chit existence. That is existence. Is anyone not existing right now? You can't deny it. But you've got all sorts of concepts and ideas of what that existence is. Some of you in this room might not have them. You've gone beyond it and seen it.
And some of you might be struggling with it along the way. Some of you might not have any concept or idea. And find it hard to grasp this. But whether or not that's happening, that's all there's ever been and ever likely to be. What are thoughts except evanescent ripples? Evanescent means they have no substance or any epitome. They just appear, appearances coming and going, seemingly there, seemingly moving on. The limitless ocean of being, awareness, stillness and silence. Can you put any boundaries on it? You liken it to an ocean because an ocean seems limitless. And the ocean seems ever changing. It's got all these waves and everything.
But it's never changing. It's still only and ever the ocean. Which the waters can appear as ripples, waves and all sorts of things. But there were never anything other than water. Which is a soul existence. That's all there is, a one. You've got this idea of I've got a soul, and people have got mixed up again. S-O-U-L. But can anyone ever found a soul? They're trying to conceptualise it as a bit of weight goes out of the body when it dies or something like that. But nobody's ever seen it. Nobody ever knows anything about it. The scientists, physicists, all the wondrous intellects that are out there, have never discovered a thing called soul.
None of them can put life into this. But they're trying to do it. And realise that's all that this existence consciousness is. It's life. And you are that life. That's why we say start from the fact that I am that life. It's still starting with the fact that I am this human individual which we've learnt, which we've acquired, and believe we are. Start from the fact that I am that existence. Which no matter what I add to it, with the concepts, ideas and images, doesn't make much difference but cause pain and other things. Unhappiness and distress in it. I am that consciousness again. Without trying to grasp the consciousness or awareness.
Think it's something with some shape and form. When I look at it without the thought, what is there? Can't you say it's peaceful without a thought? You can call it blissful if you like, but we get a concept of what bliss is. It's some ecstatic state that I'm going to form into and stay in and walk around staying in. And I'm going to be in it. I'm not saying something lovey-dovey, slap you on the left cheek and the right cheek and everything's alright. It's not going to do that at all. But it's in recognition you are that which things appear in, just they do in this manifestation, play around for a while and disappear in.
And have a look at that with your life. You've never thought of it. Gone on for thousands of years in this manifestation, in that life. That seemingly come upon you some 20, 30, maybe less, maybe more years ago. years ago and you've learned, taken the conceptual belief in it from your parents, your schools, your society being reinforced and taken the belief that you are that life and you're going to play around for a while and disappear and because we've taken this conceptual idea we're fearful of this death but in the manifestation, in the manifestation, in the conceptual image. Parkinson's is playing up a bit morning and it's hard to read, hard to see this.
In this conceptual image, in the appearance, in the disappearance, ice ages, planets changing, everything all the vastness of it to the minutest of it I'm part of. What has been affected? The only idea that's been affected is disbelief in the personal self, me. I'm going to lose my parents, I'm going to lose my friends and all the loved ones and what if I die? I'm going to lose my friends and all the loved ones and what if I die? And I don't want to die. But have a look, when did you begin? You've got this idea that you begin. But can anyone remember your beginning?
You'll say I began at birth. All right, you began at birth but when did, can you remember your birth? Look into it, investigate. Can you actually remember your birth? Nobody can remember your birth. You can only remember a time when you started to reason, the capacity of reasoning developed. Was it about the age of two, two and a half? When you learnt words. You learnt words at that point from your parents. You were a being before that, you were alive but you didn't know anything without it. Then you might understand that scriptural statement in the Bible, in the beginning was the Word. In the beginning was the Word, that was the beginning.
The Word was with God, the Word was God. There was no beginning, no God until the Word came about and the Word was the label God. You put that label on it. But then when you put that label on it, you just don't see it as a label. You see it as a conceptual shape or form, some great thing that's formed and shaped us in the universe. It's formed and shaped me, given me life, given me by me. Take it a bit easy, something. If I pray to whoever, sublimate to it and pray to it, it's going to give me this, it's going to give me that.
And people have done that, countless people have done that. What have they got? They put all sorts of limitations and boundaries on it. They put all sorts of limitations and boundaries on it. Others have understood it, have opened up to that life and abided as that, lived as that, rested in that natural state. Realised they're being lived and let that living happen and express in them. Let that peace, that natural peace they are, the peace that passes all understanding, and they call it that because it can't be grasped by a word or thought or an idea or an image. And we think we're all like that.
We think we're going to get peace of mind. How many of us are looking for that peace of mind? How many have achieved it through thinking? Don't you wonder why and reason why you haven't got it? You've been looking for years, you've done all these things you think will give it and it's never happened. Why? Your intelligence means you've learnt this and learnt that, which will be very useful in what you acquire. Maybe you might realise I've been looking in the wrong direction. I've been constantly told and believed to have got to sublimate this mind, look in this mind. But trying to sublimate, do you think you're going to find the answer to the sublimation of the mind?
Well, you're crossing out of the mind. And the very trying to do it is keeping you there. The mind looking for the mind, it'll never happen. So you realise I've been looking in the mind all these years, I've been looking in the wrong direction. And where does that look? Where would the answer be? Well, maybe the answer would be where the mind is not. Where there is no mind. And what does it say here about the mind? It's just a bundle of thoughts. And have a look at that. If I pause a thought, without a thought, what can I say? And it dawns you and it comes up and expresses as a thought.
And I can't say it's good, bad or anything wrong without a thought. But then that thought is recognised as a way of expression coming up. It has no reality. And it's translating it for me in words or expressions I can understand with a thought. And I realise that I am this consciousness that I talk about. I am conscious. What they call conscious. Which is being. And that beingness is happening in this moment of obedience. It's not becoming. It's not something I'm going to become if I do this or do that or wake up next week or next year. It's happening right now. It's being right now.
And I recognise that. Have you got the same body you walked into this room with? Unless you've investigated yourself here. No, I haven't got the same body. If I'm not investigating myself, it's the same body I've always had. But that's ridiculous, isn't it? It's not the same body you had when you were a little child, a little baby. And it's not the same body you had five minutes ago. You'll break it down and realise what the scientists, the physicists and all the rest will tell you. It's made up of cells. Millions of cells. And those cells are dying and replaced. Not in their ones and twos, but thousands of them.
Right now. So this body is transient. Like everything else, it's transient. One without a second. Appearing in different pattern, shapes and forms. Expressing in different shapes and forms. But it's still the screen. It's still the basic screen. In which everything has appeared. But it's never devoid of all these pictures. We've never touched, contaminated by that screen. At my dawn, you know, the answer's not in the mind. But I'm still breathing. Without the mind. There's no mind when I'm deep asleep. I'm still breathing and my heart's still beating. Hair and fingernails are growing, food is being digested. All these things are functioning. Without an idea of mind.
But then again, this mind, which is an evanescent ripple, is very useful. All things are useful. But have a look at it. See. It's useful and it's also self-destructive. Why? Because it's a vibrating pattern of energy. Like all this manifestation. I call it, I don't use the term God here anymore. Because that term, you can get confused with it. We all come from different traditions. Some of you might be Christians. Some of you might be Muslims. Some of you might be Buddhists. Some of you might be Hindus. Advaitans. Whatever. All these conceptual ideas and concepts come up. Whatever beliefs you've taken on, they put the energy of belief in.
I don't use that term God. Because you will relate to it. Since I used that term, you're related to that traditional belief that you have about yourself. And it won't fix it. You won't relate to that. Because you're related to a fictitious image. But I use the term intelligence energy. And that's not it. That's just another concept that's trying to point to it. Intelligence energy. Anybody in this room who is not intelligent right now? To know that you are aware. To know that you are alive. Doesn't it imply intelligence? A knowing? Being? An existing being? Knowing? And aren't you happy to be? That's the end of the soul existence.
And I end that. And you realize when you say I am that. And you've said it in your life. And you say that's a chair. That's a carpet. That's a tree. That's a flare. You know innately. That is Terry. That is Joan. Tony. That is everybody in this room. That is the carpet. Everything is that. The thatness that everything is. The soul existence. We put labels. Divide of the names and forms as I said. Divide of the labels. The labels are not the thing. But they are patterns shaped as forms. We use to express them. And that's all this mind is. It's made up of intelligence which patterns into the labels shaped as forms.
Everything has got a label. It's label me or I. You can't do much with that I or me. So what we do to it. We do what we do with everything else. We try to investigate and put different labels. This I is this body. It's this mind. It's me. It's this conceptual image based on past events, experiences and conditioning. All the things that have happened to me. We think they are real. I am Bob. I am told that by my parents when I learnt words. Realise that every word you've ever learned has been picked up. And in the beginning was the word. That's when you began.
The first nine months when you earned a room. Do you remember anything about that? No. You wouldn't be a fly after all. You knew you were a fly after all. You knew that livingness was taking place then. From the sperm and the ovum coming together. The intelligence was forming you. Intelligent energy that you are. What were you doing about it then? Nothing. Because there was no conceptual entity. You didn't have any names of forms to do it. When you were born. What were you doing about it then? There you say I'm born. I'm gonna live this and that. You didn't. Because you had no words.
You had no words. That didn't stop you from growing. That didn't stop you from being born. But it's not easy to leave it as it is. Now you think of it a little differently. But the truth is. That didn't stop from starting to recognize or learn labels, names and forms from your parents. Every word that you've ever spoken or are likely to speak right now has been learned. Realize that. How many words were you born with? None whatsoever. It's sort of been picked up along the way. But then, have a look at the word. Is the word that we believe in, is it the thing?
Is the word the action? Is it the fact? Is it the thing? Take the word water. Is that word what water is? Can you drink the word? Can you swim in the word? Can you wash in the word water? You can't. Does a word fire burn your mouth? Can you heat with it? Can you cook with it? You can't. Any other word to do the same to. You realize that the word, the label is not the thing. I am tired. I am unhappy. I am great. I am wonderful. I miss all words. And the word is not the thing. But in this manifestation, words are appearing.
Words are being utilized. And that's good. But realize the word, like everything in this manifestation, is a vibration. That's all a sat-shitter-nanda. It's words. It's intelligence. The pure intelligent intelligence is vibrating into the patterns, shapes and forms, which are appearing on the screen and can't be anything other than the screen itself, which the shakti, or the intelligence energy, is vibrating into all these things. So it's still that one and sole, eternal essence. It's the essence. It's pattern shaping and forming this manifestation, expressing in its purity. It's the play of consciousness, they say. A play. Which is eternally expressing. When we take the word to be real, and think there's a me there, instead of enjoying the play, we suffer from it.
This is bad. This is unhappiness. This is pain. This is sadness. But see, it's still transient. It's still constantly changing. There is pain here in this body. The screen it's appearing on is unaffected. And to go past the pain and look at the screen, you'll see it's laughable. And there's a lot of laugh to come up. But then the pain will come up and seemingly obscure it. But don't clouds come over the sun and seemingly obscure the sun in this manifestation. Have a look at it. See? It's the same functioning. It's functioning in this universe. It's functioning in you and me. When you ask yourself what forms the clouds, and you look into that with your minds and realize it's the sun itself that forms the clouds.
Yet the sun is shining and everything appearing is that self-shining sun. What can you see in the darkness? The sun shines and all its manifestations appears in that light. That light is the sun. That light is intelligence, consciousness. It's a natural effulgence that's shining through these bodies in that screen of light. What forms the clouds? And you look and investigate and you realize the sun itself forms the clouds. Yet the sun doesn't know anything about the clouds. Look how vast that sun is. And look at the clouds. How can you call them the evanescence of individuals? They seemingly, from our point of view, cover the sun.
But out there in the manifestation, there's great parts of the sun which is not formed, obscured by clouds. Now look at those clouds and you realize that the sun itself forms the clouds. By its natural functioning, it shines of itself. The nature of the sun is light. And the light is shining. It's effulgence. And like these bodies, let the light shine through their bodies. The Christ taught you. Let that body be. You are the light of the world. You are the effulgence in which the light appears. Like the manifestation appears in the light of the sun. And it's the light of the world that's appearing through those bodies.
What could you say without that light of intelligence appearing through you? Could you say there's any world, anything at all? And realize that. I am the light of the world. That's what Christ is. People thought he was talking about himself. And set him up as a saint, a savior, a saint in the sun. And we've got to worship that Christ. And he'll do things for us. Not at all. He's pointing out that that I is the light. The same I that you and I are is the light of the world. And in that light, that self is shining. The world appears. The world appears. Now the cloud shines.
The sun shines. And as it's self shining, it naturally evaporates water. It's heat, it's radiance shines on the oceans and skies and evaporates water. The water rises as steam. It cools as it rises. It condenses into rain. And whatever water comes down and falls on the earth as rain. And in the continuity of life, there might be a seed of something waiting in the earth for that water, that moisture. And the sun and its radiation will shine on that moisture. What does it do? How does that heat, moisture and everything else, it forms life. That's all that life comes from. Now that silence, that essence wasn't born.
There's no universe that was born. How could it be? What was it born out of? And all life comes through the worm, through moisture, through a couple of other things that we call the . That's what forms out of that. But it's all the same life that's formed through the heat and vibration that appeases . When Christ says, I am the life, you can say that. I am that life. I am that intelligence. I am that intelligence. Take a stance in that. Know for certain here and now, which is all there is, is I am that. Know for certain that I've always been that. What are you going to do then?
You're going to stay in that conceptual image. People say, I see there's no me. But then the me came back. When you saw there's no me, what did you see? If you investigated, did you see there's no entity there, no pattern, shape or form that has any substance? Has any content, has any solidity, has any independent nature, what happens if I pause a thought? What can I say then without a thought? Then I say there's any such thing as a thought. Have a look at your thoughts. What substance has a thought got? Has a thought got any substance? Where all yesterday's source now? Where yesterday's source now?
Where's your source now? When I yesterday saw some of the thoughts before that, what do they appear in? They can't appear, they can't say or do it because they have no substance, whatever. As the Buddha told you, and all these things that we passed down through the ages, there's nothing new. We're pointing to it. What do I say? I can't teach you anything I can't tell you. It's all there. It's always been there. And you've had traces of it. You hadn't recognised it. Or you wouldn't be here. Thousands of people were not here. It doesn't mean to say there's not some out there that don't recognise it.
There always will be some. There are millions that haven't recognised it, staying in the mind. What substance has the thought got? The thought hasn't got any substance. If a thought had substance, and you believed you were the thinker of those things, and all the thoughts were real, what size would your head be? Some of us think we've got big heads. We're like, oh, my God. We're like, oh, my God, now. But what size would your head be if it was full of thoughts? Where are yesterday's thoughts now? Are they there? And you recognise they're not there. There's no thought that's there from yesterday. Where are tomorrow's thoughts?
There's no thoughts that can be there tomorrow because there is no tomorrow. There is no yesterday, no tomorrow, and no today. That was because you haven't seen N.Singh Nguyen. The way is beyond language. It's before the language. Before language, it was because of the inner language. There is no yesterday. Yesterday is a fiction. It's gone. Start from that. There's no yesterday. Drop your thoughts. There is no tomorrow. Drop your thoughts again. There's no tomorrow. There's no today. No yesterday, no tomorrow, and no today. Where does that lead you? Can you negate your existence right now, your beingness right now, your knowingness now, and your lovingness, the happiness to be you want to be?
No. You recognise that just as you've taken everything away from you, there's just beer, knowingness that I am right now. Well, start from that fact and see what unfolds from there. And realise it's the same thing that's been unfolding every day. That freshness, that you-ness, that beingness, that knowingness, that loving to be. But we've loaded it down with dead concepts and imagined conceptual happenings that will happen tomorrow. All thoughts, evanescent ripples in the still ocean of being, knowing the ways of being. Settle back or abide in that stillness. Don't look for stillness, because you'll never find it. But just recognise it's there with you right now.
And there couldn't be a thought, an activity, or anything that didn't happen, that didn't appear on that screen. And that screening, now we've got all these thoughts and concepts about what was yesterday, what was tomorrow. And from that we've formed ideas of karma, ideas of reincarnation. We're going to get it some time or other, we're going to become better. And all the time missing out on what is happening in this immediacy. Right here, right now, as you're sitting here. That breath you're taking is a fresh new inspiration. That breath you're breathing out is getting rid of that old thought and allowing the fresh and new one to come in.
The heart beating is enabling the breath to happen. The whole lot of the functioning is going on in that immediacy, spontaneously, naturally and absolutely. A doesn't need a me, never has needed a me, never will need a me to cause, have anything to do with whatsoever. But the me came back and I was stuck in the beginning. What bullshitting are you telling yourself? What bullshitting are you not looking down? It's not easy to get out of it. Not easy to see. It is easy to see. But it's hard for us to look. We've all got to look at it. I was looked into for years, just the same as everybody else.
But it's not here to this day. And the realisation right now is that it never was. And never could be. I was lived. I was existence. I was all these things. And that's what I still is. I is the sole existence. You can't put anything onto that I. Yet you can't give it any actual substantial reality. It's just a co-organising emptiness that's in patented shape and expression. And you are that. So there it is. It's yours. Add to it. Take away. But some people can add to it different concepts and ideas. But some people can add to it different concepts and ideas. Put it in a different way.
Put it in a different way. That might be recognised there. Some people don't. Some people might be caught up in it. Got a question or argument about it. But you're here because it's there. There's some cognisance of it's gone on. There are a lot of people that hasn't. They're still stuck in what they are. So open right up to it. Abide as that. And know for certain you are that. The way you go. There may be doubts that come up. Have a look at it. It's not a question. It's a question. It's a question. It's a question. It's a question. It's a question. It's a question.
It's a question. It's a question. Deliver and you'll know. The way you go. The way you go. Who is it that's there? They may be doubts that come up. Have a look at it. Question them yourself. Nobody has to believe anything I say. Test it out. That's the acid test of anything. Anything. Who is this happening to? Who is it happening to? A belief is naturally what's happening to me. But test it out. See for yourself. Who or what is this me? Who am I? Who am I? That's what Ramana Maharshi told us in the Satsang, who am I? Question, who am I? When you ask that self, you ask the self, who is this I, who am I?
What is who am I? Is it a question? Who is asking the question? Well the reason is, the realisation is, I am asking the question. I am the questioner. Am I asking what is the question? Who am I? It's the question is the questioner. Who is the questioner is the questioner. And the questioner is a fiction. The questioner must be a fiction also. I've cancelled them both out. And then if I've found out what he's pointed to, and what thousands of people, millions of people have looked at, I've never understood. The questioner is the question. There is no questioner, and no question. Again, where does that leave me?
Present and aware. If you think you know it, recognise it. Because, you know, the more you point it out, the more you recognise it, the more enlightened you are to see it and recognise it. If there's been, like it has been over the years, there's only been a few, it's been passed over and missed. Instead of the message being seen, the messenger has been set up and recognised as a saint, saviour, sage or a seer. But the messenger is just like you and me. A pattern, shape and form which is a fiction. Recognise the messenger as a fiction, but it's the message that is important.
Take that message into yourself and recognise it. And see it as the truth. And that's the old scriptural saying is, know the truth, and the truth will set you free. Not any concept, or any talk, or any lesson, or any understanding, or any book, or any sage I've worshipped and bowed to and kissed his arse, or his feet, but the message has done it for you. Or any belief in it. It's you and you alone. Thinking about something my dad used to say on television, that's all there is, there isn't any more. Since I've been reading your books, I say to myself now, whatever happens, happens.
Because we have no control over doing anything. We don't know what happens. It's just that I'm given freedom because you don't have any control, so your ego is not concentrating on controlling things all the time. That's exactly right. Realise the ego is a fiction. That's what we've taken on belief, that there's an ego there, but it's just a group of thoughts we call I or me. You realise the fiction, if you haven't got any control, there's no control, or no control. And you stop your breathing. Stop your heart from beating. Stop from that natural thoughts, fiction, or feelings and ideas from coming up if necessary.
And don't bring a smile to your face. Or a frown if you don't believe it. And the laughter, naturally and effortlessly. When you're not caught up in that story about an illusory self, it just frees up the energy, you know. So you just have so much more energy to... spontaneously respond. The responding habits, you know. There's no story dragging you down, you know. It's a bit of a habit though, isn't it? Yeah. Your ways of thinking and then... So I'm only new to Bob's teachings and it's hard to break the habit, you know. So how many habits have you had? You smoke? Yep. You drink?
Yep. There are habits sometimes? Yep. You can break those habits if you want, you know. I've broken them. Oh good. So a habit can be the same as this habit. I reckon, shit, yes I broke that habit. I'm not smoking, I'm not drinking anymore. That's a habit. Maybe this habit of believing almost happened, it can be broken also. And it's very habitual because it's been reinforced every day. And you start looking a little bit further, it'll be broken. And that breaking of it, after a little while you can no longer put the energy of belief in it, it's going to fall away. And like you're smoking and you're drinking and nobody gives a shit about it.
You don't have to because you can't believe, you can't really get any benefit out of it. And when a mind, you know, when you can no longer believe and you get no benefit out of it, you're going to persist in it. You might let the habit remain and persist in it, but it's not going to be. But it doesn't need to happen. And the beauty of it is that you don't really need to work hard to break the pattern because the only, there is no you to actually break it or work on it or put effort. It happens effortlessly. The intelligence that we are brings up the recognition.
So basically the habit goes on and the recognition is there from beyond the habit and beyond the mental activity that, oh, that mental activity is happening. So this becomes a content of the space. And I'm the space which is aware of the content. So really it's effortless effort breaking the habit because it will, of course, it will perpetuate itself forever because it's been practiced for lifetime. Effortless effort. Efforting is happening. Effortlessly. Effort is happening effortlessly. So it's effortless effort. There's no one to make the effort. So life is effortless. Smoking or whatever it is, the primary addiction is addiction to thinking. That's the primary addiction, is we become so addicted to what goes on in the mind.
And yet if you look at it, all addiction as such arises in that primary addiction. I'm addicted to thought. It's a habitual focus of attention. Yep. And that's exactly right. And doesn't Shakespeare tell you, there's neither either good or bad but thinking which is so. Thinking is the primary addiction. Nothing either good or bad but thinking. And this Agadatta will tell you the same thing. Nothing can trouble you except in your own imagination. We are imaging in, creating mental images or concepts. Everything is an image in the mind, a mental image. If you're not imagining anything right now, what's there? If there are no images in that mirror, that's all reflections in the mirror are, images in the mirror, what's there?
It's a clear, pristine mirror. But the nature of the mirror is to reflect. It couldn't reflect if things didn't appear, didn't appear before it. It reflects naturally everything that appears in. There is no thing outside the mirror. Mirror is a poor analogy because it needs something outside itself to reflect it. Everything is appearing in this essence. You've got to recognise you are the essence which everything appears in. Instead of recognise this appearance and that appearance. Because none of those reflections in the mirror are going to contaminate or destroy or corrupt the mirror. You go up and try and grab one. See how real it is.
You can't have a reflection out of the mirror. But you can't say it's not there. And you can't say these thoughts, feelings and emotions are not going on in this thing in the mind. That's why you need to investigate and have a look at them. Understand what they are. When you understand the mirror is full of reflections, the reflections are not going to bother you. When you understand the shadow that follows you along the road until you question it might seem real, there's nothing but your shadow. Is it going to bother you anymore? When you understand the snake in the room, if you go outside and think you're trodden on a snake and it's a piece of wet rope, is it going to bother you anymore?
When you understand you are not this body-mind entity, is it going to bother you anymore? But what about this? What about my job? What about this? What about that? What about the other? Go back. Did that I or me you believe in, bring you into existence? Did it say, now I've arrived, I'm going to start thinking? Did it say, now I've arrived, it's going to start beating my heart? It didn't. Did it start saying anything now as you were forming in the womb? And you had no brain to think or reason. But the innate intelligence knew what you had to do. Don't you think it's functioning in you to this day?
And that's the basic truth that's been pointed out to me through the age. I am that. That is the truth. That is what I am. And that is all there is. And that itself is a word or a label that's been learnt in the language. Without that word, it's a total existence or non-existence, or patterning, shaping and forming, or everything that's being and non-being and everything else. It's right before your very eyes right now, is that. And the thing which is looking at that is there. Not separate and part or outside of that. For the ego there's a fear in that simplicity. And it wants to grasp at concepts, you know, because it's scared of that being presence.
That's why we need to question the ego and see if there is an ego there. With any substance or any end of page, and I point out that the ego is a fiction. It says that I see. That's the ego. But you're seeing right now. Do you need that thought I see to say you are seeing? So you see without that egoic thought I see, the seeing is happening. The same with the hearing. The hearing is happening without that thought I hear. The tasting is happening without that thought I taste. The touching, the smelling. It's all going on, but it's being translated or interpreted by the thought.
So you can use the thought to translate it, but know the thought is not the thing. We take the thought or the word to explain it to be the real. It's not. And I say in the beginning was the word. So you need to go back to what it's saying in the Bible. In the beginning was the word. There was nothing before the word. That's where the things began. That's what God is, the word. There's no God. There's no creation as we pointed out at the start. There's no creator and no creature. You and I are creatures in the creation. But we're not created. We're only seemingly so.
We're seemingly parent entities in that totality. Basic totality. Basic totality has never been divided, never been separated. And it's continuing to change shape and form every moment. It's not something that lasts for years. It's spontaneous. Every thought is a spontaneous fresh in the earth. Every feeling is a spontaneous fresh in the earth. We're related to the old. This one's fear. This one's anger. This one's happiness. How would you know? If you hadn't had feeling before, we're relating to a dead image. And that's all this ego is. A conceptual image based on past events and experience. A dead image which can't keep up. That's why it's fearful of life.
It can't keep up. But see, it's a fiction. Without any substance or any independent mind, you are the life. Then you are the natural flow. And you flow with that life. And resistance is conflict. If you are in resistance to everything, you're fighting with it. And then that's conflict that causes the fear. That causes the angst. That conflict is uneasiness or disease. So your psychological problem around resistance, conflict and disease. Fear, anxious, depression, guilt, shame, remorse, they're all uneasiness. They're all disease. Leave everything as it is. Without resistance, without conflict, without disease. See what happens. Stop trying to breathe. See whether your next breath happens or doesn't.
Stop trying to beat your heart. Stop trying to think. Even the triad's pausation of the thought won't happen for very long. It will continue to come up. But in that pause, it's before you recognise. It didn't need to be a thinker here to think that thought. The think was spontaneous, just like the breath and the heart. So the thinker, which is the ego, is a fiction. And you realise when you look into that, the thinker is the thought. The thinker is the thought of I think. So when you say I think, you've formed a subject. You add on to that thought all the other concepts you have about yourself and you form a concept, me or I.
And of course then the thought, I'm thinking in this thought, the thought I'm thinking becomes the object. So thinker and thought are divided into subject, object, duality. But you have a look at that. Can there be a thinker without thinking? Well if there's no thinking, is there a thinker? There's not. And is there a thought without thinking? No. Without the thinker, there's no subject, no object. Only thinking. The same with the seer, hearer, taster, touching, smelling. So the seer, seer, taster, touching, smelling, the thinker, feeling, are spontaneous functions. All happening naturally by themselves. And we translate the thinker, seer, hearer, taster, touching, smelling. We can translate them and believe it.
But know what you're thinking. What we're translating into is a fiction. It'll happen and thoughts will come up, activities will go on, feelings and shapes will form. Then what are you? You are the spontaneous life experiencing pattern through that unique pattern and experience you call you. There is no other pattern in this manifestation that has ever been you or ever will be what you call you. You are refreshed and new. Pattern shaped and formed. Which is going to play around in this manifestation for a little while. And it's constantly changing right now and it's going to disappear. But the essence of that pattern shaped and formed is the eternal.
The soul. S-O-L-E. The one and only. Which is everything. It takes a while to recognise and go in on all sorts of things we've got. Concepts and ideas and you'll say he's talking bullshit. It's this, that and the other. But something in the resonation with something within you that reckon it will bring you back. You'll have another look. And then it'll come up through the mind as a thought. Ah, that's what that is. A little instinctive knowing or awareing or conscious of it. And that'll lead to something else. And that'll lead to something else. Until there's a natural abiding as that. A natural knowing for certain.
An I am that. Which nothing can ever throw you out of. No concept, no idea, no matter what comes up. You know it might come up for a moment but you'll laugh at it. It's really nothing. It might last a little bit longer. For a while it will. So you can say these things with impunity. Because you know they're not the truth. Sadness and the feelings will come up. But how long do the clouds last in the sky? There's a seemingly skewing sigh. Of pain. Of joy. Of eggnog. Of a warm, warm, warm feeling. You know there is a kind of thing in the sky.
That is so strong. That allows the pillar of the sun to seem more powerful. The pillar of the sun. That it is pure effulgence light. When you realise that the sun itself forms the cloud, the sun itself will take the cloud away. Bring it down as rain. With that effulgence, the light shines through all light streams. You put the light on the cover and it will shine through any aperture, aperture. A crack or a hole or a movement. The light will shine through that. What is the aperture that the light of life shines through you? Is it through your own shadow? Is it through your own light?
Is it through your own image? Is it through your own light? through you. Is it through your eyes? If there weren't no seeing through your eyes, what could you see in the darkness? What world would there be? But that effulgence is shining, the light of life. That we take what we see as good, bad, except realise that it couldn't appear without that effulgence, that natural light that you are. And then my cross will say, I am the life. I am the light of the world. And there couldn't be a world without that life appearing. It's like a real revelation. Good. If something has resonated with it and recognised it, it's going to take you where it takes you if you keep open to it, questioning it.
And then questioning your doubts and things that come up, ask yourself who they're happening to, what's it all about, and is that fellow talking bullshit or not? Have a look, see what he's saying. I just don't say no off. I recognise it. People do. Go into it and look until something that hasn't resonated before will resonate. And it will reveal, actually, I've always ever been that. The doubts, ideas and concepts that have come up over the time, semi-obscured it, that's all we ever were. Something that wasn't there. The light of consciousness can see in the darkness. Yes. And the darkness dissolves it. Can the darkness?
Yes. Can the darkness be seen without light? What happens before the light shines? This earth turns towards the sun. And while it's facing away from the sun, it's darkness. What happens when it rolls around and turns towards the sun? Doesn't the light gradually arise over the horizon, the sun shines, rises higher in the sky? And isn't the clarity and life revealed in that clarity? And the self-shining, ever-fresh. Okay. And the self-shining, ever-fresh. Coincidence is the light, the conscious awareness. The light. The light in you is no different. There is nothing in this manifestation that can't be related back to the whole. All these manifestations of the appearance are nothing but expressions of that whole.
Seemingly separate apart from it. And that's why this can be broken down into the whole. Breaking down the idea and the concept of the mind. Otherwise, you are the totality. All this consciousness experiencing itself… Yes. Yes. It doesn't have to be of itself or anything else. It's just pure experiencing. It's just pure seeing. It's pure tasting, touching, and so on. And what does experience come up and taste and touch and do? It's fresh and new. It might be unique. It might be something old. It might be something new. It's true experiencing. Can there be an experiencer without experiencing? Because what they think of, there can't be an experiencer that's not experiencing.
And can there be experience without experiencing? There can't be. There can't be the experiencer without experiencing. There can't be the experiencer. So experiencing, which is going on right now, is the actuality. And what are you experiencing right now? Well, I'm experiencing that the breathing is going on, that seeing is going on, that words are coming out of the smell, that hearing, tasting, touching, smelling is coming on. It's this, it's that, it's the other. All these experiences going on. But who is it happening to? It's happening to no one. How static is it? It's not static. Each thought is changing constantly. Unless it's fixated on my clink or something.
Try and keep it there. As soon as it's fixated on in stillness, what's happened to the stillness of the back of the room? It's not noticed anymore. It's seemingly obscured. But even now, it's not. And then, can the obscuration last? It can come up and be enjoyed or disliked or fogged with or not. But how long is it going to last? Go back and have a look over your life. How long are all the events, experiences and things that have happened to you lasting? Haven't they constantly changed? You might have gone back into the old pattern, shape and form experience again. Thinking the experience is going to be different this time.
It's going to be more lasting. Haven't you been disappointed when the feelings come up? Hasn't the poor made a reason not to lie? Just see. It's happening. Let it happen. Let it be enjoyed. But that's what you are. It has never been contaminated, corrupted or touched by anyone. Never has. It's never changed. It's unchanging. I'll attest that your feelings are becoming revolved. Isn't that a fact? Because of that, you don't notice it. Yeah. You notice it. You notice it when you look at it. You notice it when you're looking in the mind for the answer. No matter how many revelations, no matter how many ideas you have, you'll recognize that those revelations and things that come up are going to change also.
It's the knowing before you know duality. You're the knower of duality. The knowing. The knowing of duality. The knowing is pure and fresh. Separate that knowingness, but bring a knower into it. Being is existence. Knowing is consciousness. And and is the bliss or the being. The knowing. The being. Knowing. What are you knowing? You're being. You are existing right now. You're knowing. If you look at it, what are you knowing? Being and knowing. That stillness. That stillness is expressing as the beingness and the knowingness. Then we translate it into words through us. See, it's all happening in the stillness. And every one of these manifestations appears to me.
You can love the stillness. And what's appearing in it? Love the trees, the flowers, the birds, the animals, everything. Love everything that's appearing in it. And see that the wars, the hate, the things that are going on, are going on. But are they contaminating or corrupting that stillness? They happen again and again and again. Ice ages have formed before. Changes have appeared and formed. But it's still coming, shaping and forming. But has the totality been affected? Has the natural intelligence energy been affected? It hasn't. We think and all the rest of it. And we're still thinking. And it's a useful pattern. We're still creating wonderful and amazing things going on.
But trying to find the answer to life, we don't. We put out comic books. We've got man now divided into half man, half robot, half four-legged man that's been thinking and doing all these wondrous things. Imagination runs wild. But it's imagination that's going on. All these things that are imagining in this pattern-shaped form. You wouldn't have artificial hip if not for that imagination. Yes, that's right. It can bring about things in the functioning. And it will, which are useful. But it's got to manifest in the pairs of opposites. It brings about that manifestation which is self-destructive. And that's how it's always functioning. In the pairs of opposites.
There's always been self-destruction there. Because of that relating to the me. There's no relationship. And all of functioning is this relationship. Relationship is relative to. It's all relative to some thing. And the thing we're related to is this conceptual image of that with me. When we look at that and see the me's a fiction, what happens to relationship? No relationship. No relationship. No. Have you disappeared without relationship? No. You stopped seeing? No. Stopped hearing? Stopped being aware? Stopped being? It's happening. We'll bring up the next relative idea in a thought-feeling emotion. Could it appear without that non-relationship? Without that? Without functioning? If you know what appearing in and on that.
Can the basic screen devoid as it says of name and form? Can it be constructed like a tablet? Also that picture that you painted about the sun creating the clouds. If you actually recognise that everything that is appearing is basically the result of the self-shining of that sun. So every cloud, even the darkest one, is the loving-to-be of the sun radiating its radiance. And the analogy goes because sun seems located and the clouds seem separate. Analogy has its limitations of course. But if you think of the intelligence radiating the body and the world and the feelings and the thoughts, but it is just that one radiance which is not in the, the sun is not here, it is just, it is the whole space that is reflecting in itself.
How did the body form? Through the sperm and ovum of your mother and father. Two microscopic particles. From the essence of the food they ate, there was prana or energy or intelligence that is. The sperm and ovum. The sperm was suffused with intelligence and knew what to do. The ovum was suffused with intelligence and attached itself to the wall of the uterus and knew what to do. What happens when they came together? New sperm, new words that swim to. Swam to the ovum and penetrated the ovum. And what formed from that? That cell doubled and redoubled. What were you doing about it then as the entity?
Nothing. But the intelligence knew what to do. And when it formed the little embryo, how did that form? Didn't that form through the essence of life that was in your mother that formed that? And didn't it through, where did that essence of life come into this body? Through the cord, through the umbilical cord. Where was it going into the body from? Through the umbilical cord of the mother. And then it came out of the body. And then it came out of the body. And then it came out of the mother. Through that cord the life and energy was patterned, shaped and forming. When you were born that cord was cut.
And the body carried on from that life and it was to its own. That energy of life was going into that cord. And in that life was the light. And effulgent, the shining through your eyes. As living you are the light of the world. The shining through your eyes and thoughts and other things are forming. And there you are. And there you are. The light is like, oh I'm a light second form of a fortress. And there you are, a light and thoughts, you are power. you are. Whatever you are. And there, you are. And that light is there, that light is you. That light here, ertai and bub.
ore that light here, are the light that may be put on you. And they're all about us no matter what levels you go up in security and what sort of success you're better off building, winning or receiving the success, that light always comes out of there. The light thatzięki to us all is, I don't know this but I've been trying to present something in the criminology scene 20 years ago down in the Roman civilization. trips happen, pain happen, fear. Know that anything and everything can happen in that full circle. How long is it going to last in this individual pattern if it's seen to be that also?
It's seen to be transient and changing. There's nothing static about this thing. It can't last and it doesn't last. Far away is that happiness. The pains go along here. How long is it before the laughter comes? The sadness might come up here. How long is it? The fear is coming. The loss of somebody, how long is it going to carry on for if I realise that's a natural function that appeared and lost? And what's happening to that was lost and what, and you realise that was that also. It appeared pattern shape and form did its job and has continued to do it. Not as this pattern shape or form.
That pattern shape and form has never been divided. It's never been separated. It's always been the totality. Always been the totality and the great perfection are the great perfection. That's one of the things in Buddhism. There's nothing new. The great perfection is non-conceptual awareness. Awareness without any of these thoughts. Pointing out again that the thoughts, concepts, ideas and images that break down this non-conceptual awareness. Which are useful in the functioning when they're given some life and pattern shape. I think it's really fun. You weren't always finding answers by thinking about it. That staying seems like you're staying. It is known non-conceptually. Stop talking and thinking.
There is nothing you won't be able to know. And the only thing you need to know is that you are. And that's the thing that's not, those words are just like it is. It's just a sketch. It's just stop talking and thinking and there's nothing that you'll not be able to know. It seems true. It seems true. And really, the satchitananda is awareness of being is bliss. Are you unaware of your being? You are aware of your being. But you are also aware about a thousand other things that distracts you from the bliss. In one of the scriptures, when he realized, I am, I am, that is consciousness.
All the manifestation of what it is. Now it's beautiful to say. I might remember it later. I am, that I who is conscious. What can I say, think or do that is not that? Thinking that, I throw my cap in the air and dance. Thinking that, I stop thinking. I am thinking that thought. Thinking, not thinking. I forget anyway, but it's beautiful. Thinking and not thinking. Even if I'm thinking that thought, I'm thinking that. Thinking that thought is, you know, I'm present at the moment that I'm alive and that can't be negated. I'm conscious as well of the room and the people and everything that's around me.
Does that mean I'm aware as well? Yes. Tell me this. Are you? Aware. Oh the awareness. You must be aware. Yeah awareness. Yeah but you can't say what awareness is. You can't brush with the consciousness. I say we try and grasp consciousness. Not unconscious, you must be conscious. If you're not unaware, you must be aware. But Bob, you can feel it. You can feel consciousness. Yes, yes. It's got no shape or form, but you can feel it. So if you can feel it and recognise that feeling and keep coming back to it, and recognise that you stay with it, then... That's how it expresses it.
Thought, feeling and emotion. It is a thought, feeling and emotion is. So what does it feel like to be conscious? It doesn't have the sensation to it. It doesn't have sensation in the space of seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, smelling. It's basically just something you can't deny. It's a knowing. Yeah, yeah. Can you say I don't know? You can say it, but in the very saying of it, you know that you're saying I don't know. You can't negate it. You can't negate your being. You can negate all the concepts and ideas. Try and stop your beingness right now. So would it be to say... It just stays that knowingness, but not what is known.
Yeah. And what is known will appear in the knowing. Because what is known in the quest for the self is totally useless. Good point. Seeming appear and do it, you might listen to it, you might not. But to know the truth, that's the most you know the truth, and stay with the truth, the truth will set you free. And that's the truth of your own being? Yeah. You've always been free of it. And you haven't known it. Free of the belief. And you haven't known that precisely because of the clouds focusing on the thoughts. And we're constantly, you know, we look a lot into those thoughts because our parents, school, society and nation haven't looked into it on a scroll, haven't questioned themselves.
And we're taught that. We're taught that I am this entity, I am this person. Reinforced it. We go to schools and get our education, we reinforce that belief. But look at the word belief. Look in your dictionary and see the definition of belief. The definition of belief is unquestioned acceptance. An acceptance of something we're not questioning. Unquestioned acceptance of something. In the absence of reason. In the absence of reason. We're not reasoning at it, looking at it, see if it's true or not. We're questioning, take it on. Without questioning, we take on this idea that I am this person. Without questioning it. Without questioning it.
We carry on with it until something pulls you up and you start to look. And it might bring you to a place like this. Without questioning it will go on. An unquestioned belief of something in the absence of reason. Acceptance of an alleged fact. And again, you're taking on this alleged fact. You were born, you are created, I am this body, mind, entity, I am this person. An alleged fact. An alleged fact. Without positive knowledge or proof. Well to see if it's true, what have you got to do? You need to pause for a moment and have a look. What is there prior to thought?
When I pause a thought, there is that stillness. There is that awareness. There is that basic living that's going on that's prior to the mind. When you pause a thought for a moment, when a thought is paused, you can't pause it. If you try to look at what's behind it, you can't stop it, you can't stop the mind, but my mind will stop of itself, you see. Without the thought, it will come up in the mind as, translation, I'm seeing. I'm hearing. I'm breathing. I'm tasting and touching and smelling without the thought. And then you'll also realise, what is this, when's the next thought coming from?
The next thought must be coming on what was there. The seeing, the hearing, the taste and touch, and the smelling, what was there? The basic stillness, devoid of all these conceptual limits. The next thought will appear in that, without me doing anything at all. And that's what it does. When thought starts again, what's it must start on? If you were the thought and you paused the thought, zilch, nothing could go on, nothing would go on, it would be the end of you. But it's not the end of you without a thought. The next thought will come up. But does the next thought come about by that believed in entity thinking?
The next thought is not. Because none of you know what your next thought will be. But you realise if thought was paused when a thought, for a moment, the next thought appears in that, and three of thought's feelings and emotions appear on that, they're appearing on that which was beyond the mind. That which was prior to thought. That natural intelligence energy which is your reality. Now talk about going beyond the mind, you might have questioned that, how's it going to go beyond the mind? I just pointed it out to you. What was there prior to the mind? You recognise that and you realise it's not some great thing you have to go through.
That's not an unstaked big bang or some information, no thing. That mind is heavy, how it expresses a sudden realisation, you reckon, shit, I've been that all the time. Beyond the mind. And you recognise if I am the mind, beyond the mind, there must be that awareness, that stillness of being. Which thoughts, feelings, emotions, patterns, shapes and forms appear in me. I am something that's greater than this body. I don't think anything's superior or any different. Because you know there's this little pattern, shape and form. But abiding is that, you're allowing the life to take place. To appear. To put new hips in. To put pain there.
To take it away. To put the love there. The peace, the joy, the satisfaction of wellbeing, being naturally and ever so. It can't be any other way because it's all vibrating. Intelligence hasn't got any place. Shape or form. That is just that, only that. The time has caught up with us. That's all there is, thank you. There isn't any more. The time, it is no time. They've pulled the plug on me. Not literally. If nature doesn't do it, we'll see. Awesome. Thank you.
