I guess we can start. I guess we can start. You've got a nice little child here. We just started, so we'll have a seat. Hi Bob. Have you been here before? No, no, no. Kristen. What would be expected. You get to the right old. Yes. And working, you know. Our treatment. Okay. So everybody knows everybody. The usual old thing. It's mostly your old timers. Victor or Cat. Victor. Justin. Kristen. Rachel. Jerry. Mark. And you all know what we talk about. They call it nonduality. Nonduality has become a great big name that's going around all the different things these days. When I first started looking this up, nonduality was hardly ever heard of.
It wasn't a popular name. And people use the name John Nonduality. They don't understand what it really means. Nonduality is only a way of putting out there's one. They say one without a second. They put that one without a second off. Even the idea of one implies. It could be the help of anyone. So that's it. It's only that one. Everything that one. The universe is one. The individual is the totality. It's all that one essence. Vibrating, patterning, and experiencing, and expressing as everything. We've taken on the idea we are separate entities. Individuals. Persons. And that's been going on for thousands of years. Also for thousands of years there have been people who have understood and recognized it and pointed it out.
And that's where all the scriptures, all the religion, all the texts pointing to it have come from. People that are trying to describe that nondual one without a second. We're going to do something today I don't usually do. What's your name? Zulna. Where from Zulna? I'm from Colombia, South America. Pardon? Colombia. Colombia. Where did you hear about this? A friend of mine. We've met with a friend of mine. And he said that I would find it interesting. Welcome, welcome. She would find it interesting. What do you think the friend of her told her about you? Well, see if you do find it interesting. You'll be able to never listen.
You may be. You will. Maybe you may. I'm going to read something from this and have a look at it. This points out clearly the nonduality. It's been read by thousands, millions. And they say it is the secret of all secrets. The secrets is overlooked. It's an open secret. It's there. It's obvious and evident to everybody. And very few stop and realise that. That it is. It's not the only one that's pointed it out. This is beautiful, I think. Thousands of years old. Still applies today. Without all the trembling they put on things today. About this mental or this concept of this idea or that idea.
And confuse it all with all the thinking processes. Put it in the simplicity. Starts off the universe. What are you talking about? Was neither born, nor maintained, nor dissolved. And that's what Rama, Vishnu and Shiva is. Rama the creator, Vishnu the maintainer. And Shiva, the disperse, the disperse, the disperse, the disperse. Distort. But it was never created in the first place. Nor maintained, nor dissolved. But it was never born. This is a plain truth. And that's all you need to know if you can recognize it. This is a plain truth. There is no... Nothing was born. And have imagined... Have a look at this universe.
When was this thing we called the universe born? What was conceived and born in? Was there some womb had developed out of it? You won't take its shaken form? You look at it, it can't. There's nothing at all. But it appears, seemingly so. The basic screen of pure being, and there's nobody who's not being right now, awareness, there's nobody who's not aware right now, and stillness, realises it's all appearing in that stillness, in that atmosphere. Stillness is right here, right now, and you, me, and everything else is appearing in that stillness. And we think we're separate, separate, something separate to seeing the stillness. The basic screen of pure being, awareness, stillness, devoid of all the moving shadow pictures of name and form of the universe is the soul, eternal existence.
Not S-O-U-L, but S-O-L-E, the soul of one and only eternal existence. It's that screen. Now you've got a movie screen, you see all this, on this movie screen there's all sorts of things, cowboys and Indians, the cowboys are getting killed, and the Indians, whatever. Where are all the corpses, after the movie stops? Where are all the activities that's taking place in that screen? Has the screen ever been corrupted, or distorted, or any of the images appeared on it? Well, it's like what we've just pointed out. This basic universe, it's neither born nor dissolved, nor maintained. It's pure being, awareness, stillness. The basic screen of that stillness.
Have a look out there, and see, and realise, what's this manifestation appearing in? Behind it all, though it's moving and seeming, behind it all is that basic stillness, emptiness, which they call, in Buddhism, a cognising emptiness. They say it's a cognising, cognising means a knowing, or an intelligence universe. It's not that we are cognising the universe, we think we are cognising. We are appearing in it, like everything else is appearing in it. It's a cognising emptiness. And they make the statement, there and then, if you look at it, emptiness is form. That's what the Buddha pointed out a couple of thousand years ago. He says emptiness is form.
Pointing out that all these forms, shapes and forms, as I said, devoid of the shadow pictures of name and form, these forms are named by these persons, individuals, trees, flowers, and everything, are names on the forms. This universe of name and form, there are shadow pictures, is that basic screen of pure awareness, stillness. Could it appear on anything else? You go to sleep at night, what is there? Stillness, emptiness, what's going on in that basic deep sleep? Nothing. What's going on when you wake up? And the knowingness of zero, I slept well. How would you know that you slept well if you weren't referring to something that was going on, when there was no thinking or no minding going on at all, and yet the heart was beating, the hair and fingernails going, the food was being digested, cells being replaced, breathing, all these things were going on in that deep sleep.
There was no name and form going on, no labelling whatsoever. The mind was in abeyance. The universe was still functioning now. And look at this universe. What do they call it? In Buddhism and others, they call this universe, this manifestation is Maya. They call it Maya. Maya is illusion. It is an illusionary manifestation, a manifestation of name and form. And that's the way they put it. Sat, Chita, Nanda, Nama, Rupa are the five factors of this manifestation. Chita is existence. Chita is consciousness or awareness. Ananda is the name and form. And they'll say Sat, Chita, Nanda, existence, consciousness, being, is the reality. Nama, Rupa, name and form are illusion.
They are the manifestation. They are the vibrating patterns in which this universe appear in the stillness and silence. Nama, Rupa, name and form. And look at that. All these conceptual images, you, me and everything else, we put labels or names on them. And the shape and form is distinct from what the things are, so we put the different labels on the shapes and forms and try and label them. But the thing is, we take the name and form, the appearance to be real. And it never was. Point it out here. Some may argue, and not some, but the majority argue, that this universe of duality, multiple existences, that's what the universe is, multiple existences, it's not just one existence, it's very in the multiple, you know, myriads of diverse ways that pattern shapes and forms.
With the mind, with the illusionary pattern. It's a factual second reality, clearly seen by the senses and operated by the mind. What would happen if it didn't have a sensual effect on you, and you didn't operate it, that this is good, this is bad, this is something else? So that's what it's appearing at. Clearly seen by the senses, operated by the mind. But, and the but comes in, then, are the senses anything apart from mind? Well, are they? You looked at that and seen. All these senses are going on. Aren't they taking place in this thing we call mind? That's a chair, that's a carpet, that's the feeling, that's the itch I've got of scratch.
Clearly seen, and operated by the mind. But then, are the senses anything apart from the mind? Can they, can the senses function without the support of the mind? Well, if there's no thinking going on, what can you say about anything? You can't, so it's the support of the mind that's giving us some very receiving reality. You can't recognise anything without the mind. Pardon? Like even if you look, and there is somebody passing, someone you know, if you don't relate it to the memory, you wouldn't know who it is. And the same with every object, every form. So it all appears in this thing we call mind.
And this mind we should have done. But then, what is this mind? What is this mind? What is this mind? See, we've put everything in the mind, but look, what is this mind? Except a bundle of thoughts. And isn't that a fact? All this thing we call mind, show me your mind. Can anyone show me a thing called mind? We're steeped in this belief through conditional reinforcement every day, every night, in this thing we've got a mind. And we say, my mind. Whose mind? This conceptual image? Do you think it is mind? What is this mind but a bundle of thoughts? Is there such a thing as mind without thinking?
Again, what is that mind in deep sleep? When there's no thinking going on, the mind is in abeyance. It's out of the road for a while. But has the living stopped? Has the beingness stopped? Has life itself, as we know it, ceased? Because there's no mind going on. Look out there in the manifestation. What mind is there out there that's separating, dividing it or labelling it? Has the mind formed a separate entity or an individual out there? It hasn't. But yet it's a dualistic manifestation. And it couldn't be anything other. Could there be day without night? See, we've labelled it day and night. Could there be silence without sound?
We've labelled it silence without sound. We've labelled it silence. These things are quite apparent. But what are they without the label? They're just a natural functioning, a natural happening, a natural movement of that intelligence energy. An energy which is intelligence, which is patterning, shaping, forming, all this manifestation. And what are thoughts? What a mind except a bundle of thoughts. But what are thoughts except evanescent ripples in the still limited ocean of being, awareness, self, self, which is the soul existence without a second. So they haven't moved away from that soul existence without a second. Yet in the vibration, that's all the ripples of the mind are, a vibration of energy.
Seemingly patterning, saving form. But they're still taking place on that, appearing in that soul screen of stillness and emptiness. Conceptualise and talk about or thinking something, or without, can you do it without conceptualising, without thinking? And what must you realise or recognise from that? The same thing they've been telling you down throughout the ages. I am that. And what is the that? That is the cognising emptiness. That is the pure-check existence. That is existence. Is anyone not existing right now? You can't deny it. But you've got all sorts of concepts and ideas of what that existence is. Some of you in this room mightn't have it.
We've gone beyond it and seen it. And some of you might be struggling along the way. Some of you mightn't have any concept or idea and find it hard to grasp this. But whether or not that's happening, that's all there's ever been and ever likely to be. What are thoughts except evanescent ripples? Evanescent. It means they have no substance or anything, but it's just appearances coming and going, seemingly there, seemingly moving on. In this limitless ocean of being aware in itself. It's stillness and silence. Can you put any boundaries on it? You liken it to an ocean because an ocean seems limitless and the ocean seems ever-changing.
It's what rivers and waves and everything, but it's never changing. It's still only and ever the ocean, which the waters can appear as lipples, waves, and all sorts of things, but there were never anything other than water. Which is a soul existence. That's all there is. It's a one. You've got this idea, I've got a soul, and people have got it mixed up again. S-O-U-L. But can anyone ever found a soul? They're trying to conceptualize that there's a bit of weight that goes out of the body when it dies or something like that, but nobody's ever seen it. Nobody ever knows anything about it. The scientists, physicists, because all the wondrous intellects that are out there have never discovered a thing called soul.
None of them can put life into this pattern shape of all. If they're trying to do it, they might get it going for a while, but the actual life they can't. And realize that's all that this existence consciousness was is life. And you are that life. That's why we say start from the fact that I am that life. Instead of starting from the fact that I am this human individual which we've learnt, which we've acquired, and believe we are, start from the fact that I am that existence. Which no matter what I add to it with the concepts, ideas and images, doesn't make much difference but cause pain and unhappiness and distress in it.
I am that soul existence. I am that consciousness. Again, without trying to grasp the consciousness or awareness, think it's something with some shape and form. And I am, when I look at it, without the thought, what is there? Can't you say it's peaceful without a thought? You can call it blissful, if you like, but we get a concept of what belief is, and some ecstatic state that I am going to form into, and stay in, and walk around staying lovey-dovey, slap you on the left cheek and the right cheek and everything's alright. It's not going to do that at all. But it's a recognition you are that, which things appear in, just they do in this manifestation.
Play around for a while, and disappear in. And have a look at that with your life. You've never done it for thousands of years in this manifestation, in that life. It's seemingly come upon you some twenty, thirty, maybe less, maybe more years ago. And you've learned, taken the conceptual belief in it, from your parents, your schools, your society being reinforced, and taken the belief that you are that life. And you're going to play around for a while and disappear. And because we've taken this conceptual idea, we're fearful of this death. But in the manifestation, in the manifestation, in the conceptual image, Parkinson's is playing up a bit morning, and it's hard to see this.
In this conceptual image, in the appearance, in the disappearance, ice ages, the planets changing, everything, all the vastness of it, to the minutest of it. What has been affected? The only idea that's been affected, is disbelief in the personal self, me. I'm going to lose my parents, I'm going to lose my friends, and all the loved ones, and all this will die. And I don't want to die. But have a look, when did you begin? You've got this idea, to begin with someone, but can anyone remember your beginning? You'll say, I began at birth. All right, you began at birth, but when did, can you remember your birth?
Look into it. Investigate. Can you actually remember your birth? Nobody can remember your birth. You can only remember a time, when you started to reason. A capacity of reasoning developed. Do you remember, at the age of two? Two and a half? When you learnt words. You learnt words from your parents. You were a being before that, you were alive, but you didn't know anything without it. Then you might understand that scriptural statement in the Bible, in the beginning was the Word. In the beginning was the Word. That was the beginning. The Word was with God. The Word was God. There was no beginning, no God, until the Word came about.
And the Word was a label of God. You put that label on it. But then you put that label, and you just don't see it as a label. You see it as a conceptual shape or form, some right thing that's formed and shaped us in the universe. That's formed and shaped me, given me life, given me by being. Take a little bit of this something, if I pray to whoever, sublimate to it and pray to it, it's going to give me this, it's going to give me that. And people have done that. Countless people have done that. What have they got? All sorts of limitations and boundaries on the life.
Others have understood it, have opened up to that life and abided as that, lived as that, rested in that natural state. Realised they're being lived and let that living happen and express in it. Let that peace, that natural peace they are, the peace that pass us all understanding. And they call it that because it can't be grasped by a word or thought or an idea or an image. And we think we're going to get peace of mind. How many of us are looking for that peace of mind? How many of us have achieved it through thinking? Don't you wonder why and reason why you haven't got it?
You've been looking for years, you've done all these things that you think will give it to us. It's never happened. Why? You're intelligence beings. You've learnt this and learnt that which has been very useful in life. But you've never learnt what you've tried to acquire. You've learnt to acquire or peace. Maybe you realise I've been looking in the wrong direction. I've been constantly told and believed that I've got to sublimate this mind, look in this mind. But trying to sublimine, do you think you're going to find the answer in the sublimation of the mind? Or the crossing out of the mind? In the very trying to do it.
It's keeping you there. It's keeping you there. The mind looking for the mind, it'll never happen. So you realise I've been looking in the mind all these years, I've been looking in the wrong direction. So where does that look? Where would the answer be? Well maybe the answer would be where the mind is not. Where there is no mind. And what does it say here about the mind? It's just a bundle of thoughts. And have a look at that. If I pause a thought. If I pause a thought. Without a thought, what can I say? And it dawns you and it comes up and expresses as a thought.
And I can't say it's good, bad, or anything wrong without a thought. But then that thought is recognised as a way of expression coming up. It has no reality, but it's translating it for me in words or expressions I can understand with a thought. And I realise that I am this consciousness that I am conscious. I am conscious. What they call conscious. Which is being. And that beingness is happening in this moment of emergency. It's not becoming. It's not something I'm going to become if I do this or do that or wait next week or next year. It's happening right now. It's being right now and recognise that.
Have you got the same body you walked into this room with? Unless you've investigated, you'll say here. No, I haven't got the same body. If I'm not investigating, you'll say this is the same body I've always had. But that's ridiculous, isn't it? It's not the same body you had when you were a little child, a little baby. And it's not the same body you had five minutes ago. You'll break it down and realise what the scientists, the physicists and all the rest will tell you. It's made up of cells. Millions of cells. And those cells are dying and replaced. Not in their ones and twos, but thousands of them.
Right now. So this body is transient. Like everything else. It's transient. One without a second. Appearing in different pattern, shapes and forms. Expressing in different shapes and forms. But it's still the screen. It's still the basic screen in which everything has appeared. But it's never devoid of all these pictures. We've never touched, contaminated by that screen. So it might do on you. The answer's not in the mind. But I'm still breathing. Without the mind. There's no mind when I'm deep asleep. I'm still breathing. My heart's still breathing. Hair and fingernails are growing. Food's being digested. All these things are functioning. Without an idea of knowledge.
But then again, this mind, which is an evanescent ripple, is very useful. All things are useful. But have a look at it. See. It's useful and it's also self-destructive. Why? Because it's a vibrating pattern of energy. Like all this manifestation. I call it. I don't use the term God here anymore. Because that term we can get confused with. We all come from different traditions. Some of you might be Christians. Some of you might be Muslims. Some of you might be Muslims. Some of you might be Buddhists. Hindu's. Advaitin's. Whatever. Whatever these conceptual ideas and concepts come up. Whatever beliefs you've taken on, they put the energy you believe in.
I don't use that term God. I don't use that term God. Because you're related. Since I use that term, you're related to that traditional belief that you have about yourself. And you won't relate to that. Because you relate to a fictitious image. But I use the term intelligence energy. And that's not it. That's just another concept that's trying to point to it. Intelligence energy. And anybody in this room who is not intelligent right now. To know that you are aware. To know that you are alive. Doesn't it imply intelligence? A knowing? Being? And existing? Being? Knowing? And aren't you happy to be? Being? That's the Sat Chittananda.
The soul existence. And I am that. And you realise when you say, I am that. And you've said it in your life. And you say, that's a chair. That's a carpet. That's a tree. That's a flare. You know innately. That is Terry. That is Terry. That is Joan. That is Tony. That is everybody in this room. That is the carpet. Everything is that. The that-ness that everything is. The soul existence. We put labels. Devoid of the names and forms as I said. Devoid of the labels. The labels are not the thing. But the patterns, shapes and forms we use to express them. And that's all this mind is.
And that's all this mind is. It's made up of intelligence which patterns into a label, shapes and forms. Everything is put a label. It's labeled me or I. You can't do much with that I or me. So what we do to it, we do with what we do with everything else. We try to investigate and put different labels. This eye is the spotty. It's this mind. It's me. It's this conceptual image. Based on past events, experiences and conditioning. All the things that have happened to me. We think they are real. I am Bob. I'm told that by my parents when I learnt words. Realise that every word you've ever learnt has been picked up.
And in the beginning was the word. That's when you began. The first nine months when you were in the room. Do you remember anything about that? No. That livingness was taking place then. From the sperm and the ovum coming together. The intelligence was forming you. The intelligence entity that you are. What were you doing about it then? Nothing. Because there was no conceptual entity. You didn't have any names or forms to do it. When you were born. What were you doing about it then? You didn't. Because you had no words. You had no labels. But that didn't stop you from growing. That didn't stop you from starting to recognise or learn labels, names and forms from your parents.
You learnt labels. You learnt labels. I am Bob. Every word that you've ever spoken or ever likely to speak right now has been learnt. Realise that. How many words were you born then? None whatsoever. But you've learnt words and learnt labels that have been picked up along the way. But then, have a look at the word. Is the word that we believe in, is it the thing? Is the word the actual? Is it the fact? Is it the thing? Take the word water. Is that word what water is? Can you drink the word? Can you swim in the word? Can you wash in the word water?
You can't. Does the word fire burn? Does the word fire burn your mouth? Can you heat with it? Can you cook with it? You can't. Any other word. To do the same to. You realise that the word, the label, is not the thing. I am tired. I am unhappy. I am depressed. All words. All words. I am great. I am wonderful. I am just all words. And the word is not the thing. But in this manifestation, words are appearing. Words are being utilised. And that's good. And that's good. And that's good. And that's good. But realise the word, like everything in this manifestation, is a vibration.
That's all the Sat Chittananda is. Words. Intelligence. The pure intelligence that's vibrating into the patterns, shapes and forms, which are appearing on the screen, and can't be anything, and can't be anything other than the screen itself, which the shakti, or the intelligence energy, is vibrating into all these things. So it's still that one and soul, eternal essence, that's patterning, shaping form in this manifestation, expressing imperious to it. It's a play. It's a play of consciousness, they say. A play, which is eternally expressing. When we take the word to be real, and think there's a me there, instead of enjoying the play, we suffer from it.
This is bad. This is unhappiness. This is pain. This is sadness. But see, it's still transient. It's still constantly changing. There is pain here in this body. The screen it's appearing on is unaffected. And to go past the pain and look at the screen, you'll see it's laughable. And there's a lot of laugh to come up. But then the pain will come up and seemingly obscure it. But don't clouds come over the sun and seemingly obscure the sun in this manifestation? Have a look at it. See, it's the same functioning. It's functioning in this universe. It's functioning in you and me. When you ask yourself, what forms the clouds?
And you look into that with your minds and realise it's the sun itself that forms the clouds. Yet the sun is shining and everything appearing is that self-shining sun. What can you see in the darkness? Nothing. The sun shines and all this manifestation appears in that light. That light is intelligence, consciousness. It's a natural effulgence that's shining through these bodies in that screen of light. So what forms the clouds? And you look and investigate and you realise the sun itself forms the clouds. Yet the sun doesn't know anything about the clouds. Look how vast that sun is. And look at the clouds. How can you call them evanescence of individuals?
They seemingly, from our point of view, cover the sun. But out there in the manifestation, there's great parts of the sun which are obscured by clouds. Now look at those clouds and you realise that the sun itself forms the clouds. By its natural functioning. It shines of itself. The nature of the sun is light. And the light is shining. It's effulgence. And like these bodies, let the light shine through that body as the Christ taught you. Let that body be. You are the light of the world. You are the light of the world. You are the effulgence in which the light appears. Like the manifestation appears in the light of the sun.
And it's the light of the world that's appearing through those bodies. What could you say without that light of intelligence appearing through? Could you say there's any world? Anything at all? What could you say without that light of the world? Can you say there's any world that you were watching through the sun? That's what Christ is. People thought he was talking about himself. And set him up as a saint, a saviour, a saint, a saint of the sun. And you know you have to worship that Christ and he'll do things for us. Not at all. He's pointing out that that I is the light. The same I that you and I are is the light of the world.
and I am that light and in that light the world appears the world appears now the cloud the sun shines and as it's self-shining it naturally evaporates water its heat its radiance shines on the oceans and skies and evaporates water the water rises as steam it cools as it rises condenses into rain and when the water comes down and falls on the earth as rain and in the continuity of life there might be a seed of something waiting in the earth for that water, that moisture and the sun in its radiation will shine on that that moisture made and what does it do? you know that heat, moisture and everything else it forms life and that's all that light comes from now that silence, that essence wasn't born there's no universe that was born what came in and he says how could it be?
what was it born out of? and all life comes through the worm through moisture through a couple of other things through a couple of other things they're called a few of the names or a few of the names or a few of the names that happens and it forms out of that but it's all the same life that's formed through the heat and vibration and the life that appears in the earth and like Christ says I am the life you can say that I am that life I am that intelligence take a stance in that know for certain here and now which is all there is is I am that know for certain that I've always been that what are you going to do then?
you're going to stay in that conceptual image people say I see there's no me but then the me came back when you saw there's no me what did you see? if you investigated did you see there's no no entity there no pattern shape or form that has any substance has any content has any solidity has any independent nature can say it as itself what happens if I pause a thought? what can I say then without a thought? can I say there's any such thing as a thought? and have a look at your thoughts what substance has a thought got? has a thought got any substance?
we're all yesterday sourced now when are yesterday sourced and the thoughts before that what are they appearing in? they can't appear they can't say or do it because they have no substance whatever as the Buddha told you and all these things that we pass down through now there's nothing new we're pointing to it what do I say? I can't teach one thing that can't tell you it's all there it's always been there and you've had traces of it you hadn't recognised it or you wouldn't be here there's thousands of people that are not here there's not something to say there's not something out there that don't recognise that there are there always will be some there are millions that haven't recognised it it's staying in the meantime so what substance has a thought got?
thought hasn't got any substance if a thought had substance and you believed you were the thinker of those thoughts and all the thoughts were real what size would your head be? some of us think we've got big hands right now but what size would your head be that's full of thoughts? there's nothing where are yesterday's thoughts now? are they there? then you recognise they're not there there's no thought that's there from yesterday where are tomorrow's thoughts? there's no thoughts that can be there tomorrow because there is no tomorrow there is no yesterday no tomorrow and no today that's what's called in the same in singing the way is beyond language it's before the language it's before language because in it there is no yesterday yesterday is a fiction it's gone start from that there's no yesterday drop your thoughts there is no tomorrow drop your thoughts again there's no tomorrow there's no today no yesterday no tomorrow and no today where does that leave you?
can you negate your existence right now your beingness right now your knowingness now and your lovingness the happiness to be you want to be? no you recognise you recognise that just has taken everything away from me there's just beer knowingness that I am right now we'll start from that fact and see what unfolds from there and realise it's the same thing has been unfolding every day that freshness that newness that beingness that knowingness that loving to be but we've loaded it down with dead concepts and imagined conceptual happenings that will happen tomorrow all thoughts evanescent ripples in the still ocean of being knowing the way to be settle back or abide in that stillness don't look for stillness because you'll never find it but just recognise it's there with you right now and there couldn't be a thought an activity or anything that didn't happen that didn't appear on that screen and that screen you know we've got all these thoughts and concepts about what was yesterday or what was tomorrow and from that we've formed ideas of karma ideas of reincarnation we're going to get it sometime or other we're going to come better and all the time missing out on what is happening in this immediacy right here right now as you're sitting here that breath you're taking is a fresh and new inspiration that breath you're breathing out is the getting rid of that whole thought and allowing the fresh and new one to come in the heart beating has enabled the breath to happen the whole lot of the functioning is going on in that immediacy spontaneously naturally and absolutely it doesn't need a me never has needed a me never will need a me to cause it has anything to do with it whatsoever but the me came back and I was stuck in the beginning what bullshit are you telling yourself what bullshit are you going to look at it's not easy to get out of it not easy to see it is easy to see but it's hard for us to be we've all got to look at it I was locked into it for years just the same as everybody else but it's not here to this day and the realisation right now is it never was it never could be I was lived I was existence I was all these things and that's what I still is I is the sole existence you can't put anything onto that I yet you can't give it any actual substance or reality it's just the cognising emptiness that's the patterning shape and expression and you are that so there it is it's yours add to it take away some people can add to it different concepts and ideas put it in a different way that might be recognised there some people somebody might be caught up in it got a question or argued about it but you're here because it's meant there's some cognisings of it's going on there are a lot of people that hasn't are still stuck in one another so open right up to it and a boy does that and now for sitting you out out the way you go
There may be doubts that come up.
Have a look at them. Question them yourself. Nobody has to believe anything I say. Test it out. That's the acid test of anything. Who is it happening to? Who is it happening to? A belief is naturally what's happening to me. But test it out. See for yourself. Who or what is this me? Who am I? That's what Ramana Maharshi told each other. Who am I? Question, who am I? When you ask that self, you ask yourself, who is this I? Who am I? What as hell am I? Is it a question? Is it a question? Who is asking the question? Well, the reason is, I am asking the question.
I am the questioner. And what am I asking the questioner. And what am I asking? What is the questioner? Who am I? It's the questioner is the questioner. If I realise the questioner is the questioner, and the questioner is a fiction, the questioner must be a fiction also. I cancel them both out, and then if I've found out what he's pointed to, and what thousands of people, millions of people like that, I've never understood. The questioner is the questioner. The questioner is the question. There is no questioner, and no question. Again, where does that leave me? Present and aware. That's that. So good to hear you, Bob.
Point it out if you think you know it, recognise it. Because, you know, the more that point it out, the more recognised, the more I like it to see it recognised. If there's been, like it has been over the years, there's only been a few, it's been passed over and missed. Instead of the message being seen, the messenger has been set up and recognised as a saint, saviour, sage or a seer. But the messenger is just like you and me, a pattern, shape and form which is a fiction. Recognise the messenger as a fiction, but it's the message that is important. Take that message into yourself and recognise it and see it as the truth.
And that's the old scriptural saying is, know the truth. And the truth will set you free. Not any concept, idea or image or any talk or any lesson or any understanding or any book or any sage I've worshipped and bowed to and kissed his arse on his feet with a message that's done it for you. Not any believer or any believer or any believer. It's you and you alone that can do it for yourself. Recognise that. You are that. That is a call from 38. I was thinking about something my dad used to say on television. That's all there is, there isn't any more. That's all there is, there isn't any more.
That's all there is, there isn't any more. Since I've been reading your books, I say to myself now, whatever happens, happens. Yeah. Because we have no control over doing what happens. So it just, you know, it's given freedom because you don't have any control so your ego is not concentrating on controlling things all the time. That's exactly right. That's exactly right. Realise the ego is a fiction. That's what we've taken on believing that there is an ego there. But it's just a group of thoughts we call I or me. You realise the fiction, if you haven't got any control, there's no control over no control.
That has stopped your breathing. Stopped your heart from beating. Stopped from that natural thoughts, fictions and ideas from coming up if necessary. Does it bring a smile to your face? Or a frown if you don't believe it? Or a laughter? Naturally, inevitably. When you're not caught up in that story about an illusory self, it just frees up the energy, you know? So you just have so much more energy to spontaneously respond, the responding habits, you know? There's no story dragging you down, you know? It's a bit of a habit though, isn't it? Yeah. Your ways of thinking and then. So I'm only new to Bob's teachings and it's hard to break the habit, you know?
Yeah. So how many habits have you had? Do you smoke? Yep. Do you drink? Yep. There are habits, aren't there? Yep. You can break those habits if you want, you know? I've broken them. Well, what? Yeah. The same as this habit. Breaking my shit, yes, I broke that habit. I'm not smoking, I'm not drinking anymore. That's a habit. Maybe there's a habit of believing in myself. I don't think it can be broken also. Yeah. And it's very habitual because it's been reinforced every day. When you start looking a little bit further, it'll be broken. Isn't that breaking of it? After a little while, you can no longer put the energy of belief in it, it's going to fall away.
You might keep smoking and you're drinking and nobody give a shit about it. You're not going to take it up anymore. You don't have to because you can't believe it, you can't really get any benefit out of it. You're going to persist in it. You might let the habit remain a persistent, but it's not going to do anything at all. But it doesn't need to happen. And the beauty of it is that you don't really need to work hard to break the pattern because there is no you to actually break it or work on it or put effort. It happens effortlessly. The intelligence that we are brings up the recognition.
So basically the habit goes on and the recognition is there from beyond the habit and beyond the mental activity that, oh, that mental activity is happening. So this becomes a content of the space. And I'm the space which is aware of the content. So really it's effortless effort breaking the habit because it will, of course, it will perpetuate itself forever because it's been practiced for a lifetime. Effortless effort. Everything is happening. Effortless effort. It's happening effortlessly, so it's effortless effortlessly. There's no one to make the effort. So life is effortless. And that primary addiction, if we're talking about alcohol or smoking or whatever it is, the primary addiction is the addiction to thinking.
That's the primary addiction, is we become so addicted to what goes on in the mind. And if you look at it, all addiction as such arises in that primary addiction. I'm addicted to thought. It's a habitual focus of attention. Yep. And that's exactly right. It doesn't Shakespeare tell you, there's neither good or bad, but thinking, we should say. Thinking is the primary addiction. There's nothing either good or bad, but thinking. And the Sagadatta will tell you the same thing. Nothing can trouble you, except in your own imagination. We are imaging in, creating mental images or concepts. Everything is an image in the mind. A mental image.
If you're not imagining anything right now, what's there? If there are no images in that mirror, that's all reflections in the mirror, images in the mirror. What's there? It's a clear, pristine mirror. But the nature of the mirror is to reflect. It couldn't reflect if things didn't appear before. It reflects naturally everything that appears in. But there is no thing outside the mirror. Mirror is a poor analogy, because it needs something outside itself to reflect. In this essence that you are, everything is appearing in this essence. And that's where you've got to recognise you are the essence which everything appears in, instead of recognise this appearance and that appearance.
Because none of those reflections in the mirror are going to contaminate or corrupt the mirror. Go up and try and grab one. See how real it is. You can't grab a reflection out of the mirror. But you can't say it's not there. And you can't say these thoughts, feelings, emotions are not going on in this thing in the mind. That's why you need to investigate and have a look at them. Understand what they are. When you understand the mirror is full of reflections, the reflections are not going to bother you. When you understand the shadow that follows you along the road, until you question it, it might seem real.
There's nothing but your shadow. Is it going to bother you anyway? When you understand the snake in the room, if you go outside and think you're trying to hold a snake and it's a piece of wheeze of whip rope, is it going to bother you anymore? When you understand you are not this body-mind entity, is it going to bother you anymore? But what about this? What about my job? What about this? What about that? What about the other? Remember to go back. Did that I or me you believe yourself to be bring you into existence? Did it say now I've arrived, I'm going to start thinking?
Did it say now I've arrived, it started beating my heart? It didn't. Did it start to say anything now as you were forming in the womb? And you had no brain to think or reason. But the innate intelligence knew what you had to do. Don't you think it's functioning in you to this day? And that's the basic truth that's been pointed out through the age. I am that. That is what I am. And that is all there is. And that itself is a word or a label that's been learnt in the language. Without that word, it's a total existence or non-existence or patterning, shaping and forming.
Everything is being and non-being and everything else. It's right before your very eyes right now, is that. And the thing which is looking at that is not separate in part or outside of that. It's not separate. If you look for the ego, there's a fear in that simplicity. Exactly. And it wants to grasp at concepts, you know, because it's scared of that being. Exactly. Presence. That's why we need to question the ego and see if there is an ego there. With any substance or any end of passage and I point out that the ego is a fiction. Who is it says that I see? The ego.
That's the ego. But you're seeing right now. Do you need that thought I see to say you are seeing? So you see without that egoic thought I see the seeing is happening. The same with the hearing. The hearing is happening without that thought I hear. The tasting is happening without that thought I taste. The touching, the smelling. It's all going on but it's being translated or interpreted by the thought. So you can use the thought to translate it. No, the thought is not the thing. We take the thought or the word as to explain it to be the real. That's not it. And I say in the beginning was the word.
There was nothing before the word. That's where the things began. That's what God is, the word. There's no God. There's no creation as we pointed out at the start. There's no creator and no creature. You and I are creatures in the creation. But we're not created. We're only seemingly so. We're seemingly parent entities in that totality. In that basic totality has never been divided, never been separated. And it's continuing to change, shape and form every moment. It's not something that lasts for years. It's spontaneous. Every thought is a spontaneous, fresh air. Every feeling is a spontaneous, fresh air. We're related to the whole. This one's fear.
This one's anger. This one's happiness. How would you know? If you hadn't that feeling before, we're relating to a dead image. And that's all this ego is. A conceptual image based on past events and expression. A dead image which can't keep up with life. That's why it's fearful of life. It can't keep up. But see, it's a fiction. Without any substance or any independent nature. You are the life. Then you are the natural flow. Then you flow with that life. There's resistance to it. Exactly. And resistance is conflict. If you are in resistance to everything, you're fighting with it. And then that's conflict that causes the fear.
It causes the accident. That conflict is uneasiness or disease. So your psychological problem around with that resistance conflict then it's disease. Fear, anxious, depression, guilt, shame, remorse. They're all uneasiness. They're all disease. Leave everything as it is. Without resistance, without conflict, without disease. See what happens. Stop trying to breathe. See whether your next breath happens or doesn't. Stop trying to beat your heart. Stop trying to think. Even the triad's pausation of a thought won't happen for very long. It will continue to come up. But in that pause, at both pause, you'll recognise there didn't need to be a thinker. You had to think that thought.
To think was spontaneous, just like the breath and the heartbeat, the hair and feet. It was all going once per day. So the thinker, which is the ego, is a fiction. And you realise when you look into that, the thinker is the thought. The thinker is the thought of I think. As long as you say, I think you've formed a subject. You add on to that thought all the other concepts you have about yourself in a form of concept. Me or I. And of course then the thought, I'm thinking and it's thought. The thought I'm thinking becomes the object. So thinker and thought are divided into subject-object, duality.
But you have a look at that. Can there be a thinker without thinking? Well if there's no thinking, is there a thinker? There's not. And is there a thought without thinking? No. Without the thinker, there's no subject, no object. Only thinking. The same with the seer, hear, taste and touching, smelling. So the seer, seer, tasting, touching, smelling, the thinker, the feeling, are spontaneous functions. All happening naturally by themselves. And we transplant them, thinker, seer, hear, taste and touching. We can translate them and believe it, but know what we're translating into is a fiction. And we're not bound by it. We're not bound into it. It'll happen.
And thoughts will come up. Activities will go on. Feelings and shapes and forms. But there's no one do it. Then what are you? You are the spontaneous life experiencing pattern through that unique pattern and experience you call you. There is no other pattern in this manifestation that has ever been you or ever will be, what do you call you? You are a fresh, new pattern-shaped and form, which is going to play around in this manifestation for a little while. And it's constantly changing right now and it's going to disappear. But the essence of that pattern-shaped and form is the eternal. The soul. S-O-L-E. The one and only.
Which is everything. Never forget it. It takes a while to recognise and go into it. All sorts of things are going on. Concepts and ideas and you say he's talking bullshit. It's this, that and the other. But something in the resonation with something within you that reckoning will bring you back. You'll have another look. And then it'll come up through the mind as a thought. Ah, that's what that is. A little instinctive knowing or awaring or conscious of it. And that'll lead to something else. And that'll lead to something else. Until there's a natural abiding as that. A natural knowing for certain that I am that.
Which nothing can ever throw you out of. No concept, no idea, no matter what comes up. You know, it might come up for a moment, but it's all half of it. You see, it's fairly nothing. It might last a little bit longer, for a while it will. Out of old habit. But after a while, no matter what comes up. So you can say these things with impunity. Because you know they're not the truth. That's why life goes on and enjoys it. The sadness and the feelings will come up. But how long do the clouds last in the sky that are seemingly skewing the sigh of pure effulgence light?
When you realise that the sun itself forms the cloud, the sun itself will take the cloud away. Bring it down as rain. But that effulgence, the light shines through, all light through, you can put the light, try and cover it, it will shine through any aperture. A crack or a hole, remember the light will shine through that. What is the aperture that the light of life shines through you? Is it through your eyes? If there weren't no seeing through your eyes, what could you see in the darkness? What world would there be? But that effulgence is shining. The light of life. But we take what we see as good, bad, realise that it couldn't appear without that effulgence, that natural light that you are.
And then my church will say, I am no life. I am no light of the world. And there couldn't be a world without that life appearing. When I read that, it's like a real revelation. Good. It's stuck on. Yeah, something has resonated with it and recognised it. It's going to take you where it takes you if you keep open to it, questioning it. And the questioning of doubts and things that come up, ask yourself who they're happening to. And what's it all about? And is that fellow talking bullshit or not? Have a look. See what he's saying. Just don't say no offer. Recognise it. People do.
Go into it and look until something that hasn't resonated before will resonate. And it will reveal, actually, I always have ever been that. The doubts, ideas and concepts that have come up over the time, semi-obscured it. That's all they ever were. Something that wasn't a doubt. What happens when the light of consciousness can see in the darkness? Yes. And the darkness dissolves it. Can the darkness be seen without light? What happens when the light shines? This earth turns towards the sun. And while it's facing away from the sun, this part of it, it's darkness. What happens when it rolls around and turns towards the sun?
Doesn't the light gradually rise over the horizon, the sun shines, rises higher in the sky? And isn't the clarity of living and life revealed? You are the light. The light in you is no different. There is nothing in this manifestation that can't be related back to the whole. All these manifestations and experiences are nothing but expressions of that whole, seemingly separate and apart from it. But that's why this can be broken down into the whole, breaking down the idea and concept of the me and the not-me, and realise you are the totality. Is all this consciousness experiencing itself? Yes. It's an actual experience in. It doesn't have to be of itself or anything else.
It's just pure experiencing. It's just pure seeing. It's pure tasting, touching itself. And what is experience comes up and tastes and touches it up? It's fresh and new. It might be unique, it might be something old, it might be something new. It's true experiencing. Can there be an experience without experiencing? Because people think there can't be an experience that's not experiencing. And can there be experience without experience? There can't be. There can't be the experience without experience. There can't be the experience. So experiencing, which is going on with you right now, is the actuality. And what are you experiencing? And what are you experiencing right now?
Apple? Well, I'm experiencing that the breathing's going on. That seeing's going on. That words are coming out of the smell. That hearing, tasting, touching, smelling is coming on. That's this, that's that, that's the other. All this experience is going on. But who's it's happening to? It's happening to nowhere. How static is it? It's not static. Each thought is changing constantly, unless it's fixated on my clink or something. Try and keep it. As soon as it's fixated on in stillness, what's happened to the stillness of the back of the room? It's not noticed anymore. But it's still there. It's seemingly obscured. But even then, can the obscuration last?
No, it can come up and be enjoyed or disliked or fall again with it. But how long is it going to last? Go back and have a look over your life. How long are all the events, experiences and things that have happened here lasting? Haven't they constantly changed? You might have gone back into the old pattern, shape and form experience again again, thinking the experience is going to be different this time. It's going to be more lasting. Haven't you been disappointed when your feelings comes up? Hasn't a poor mate arisen? Why is it happy to be? You see, it's happening. Let it happen. Let it be enjoyed.
But that's what you are. Has never been contaminated, corrupted or touched by any of it. Never has ever been. So that's never changed. It's unchanging. The test that you've seen, it's coming through a while, isn't that a fact? Because of that, you don't notice it. Yeah. You notice it. You notice it when you look at it. But while you're looking in the mind for the answer, no matter how many revelations and how it is, you won't know it. And if you recognize that those revelations and things that come up are going to change also. It's the knowing before the mind, before thinking. Yes. So you know duality.
You're the knower of duality. Yes. Yes. The knowing. Or the knowing of duality. The knowing is pure and fierce. But as soon as you separate that knowingness, you bring a knower into it. Being is existence. Knowing is consciousness. Ananda is the bliss or the being or the knowing. A being, knowing. What are you knowing? What are you knowing? What are you knowing? That's stillness. That stillness is expressing as the beingness and the knowingness. But then we translate it into words to us. See, it's all happening in the stillness. And so everyone in all this manifestation is appearing still. You can love the stillness. And what's appearing in it.
Love the trees, the flowers, the birds, the habitat. Love everything that's appearing in it. And see that the wars, the hate, the things that are going on, are going on. But are they contaminating or corrupting in stillness? They happen again and again and again. Ice ages have formed before. Changes have appeared before. But it's still coming, shaping and forming. But has the totality been affected? Has the natural intelligence entity been affected? It hasn't. It hasn't. We think and all the rest of it. And we're still thinking. And it's a useful pattern. We're still creating wonderful and amazing things going on. And trying to find the answer to the life we don't.
put out comic books with a good man now, divided into half man, half robot, that's been thinking and doing all these wondrous things. Imagination runs wild. But it's imagination that's going on. All these things that are imagining, then there's bad things so but fine. You wouldn't have artificial hip if not for that imagination. Yes, that's right. It can bring about things in the functioning, and it will, which are useful. But it's got to manifest in the pairs of opposites. It brings about that manifestation which is self-destructive. And that's how it's always functioning, in the pairs of opposites. There's always been self-destruction there because of that relating to the me.
There's no relationship and all of functioning is this relationship. Relationship is relative to. It's all relative to something. And the thing we're related to is conceptual image of that we've made. When we look at that and see the me's of fiction, what happens to a relationship? Fiction? No relationship. No relationship. No. Have you disappeared without a look? No. Have you stopped seeing? Stopped hearing? Stopped being aware? Stopped being? It's happening. It's happening. And that will bring up the next relative idea in a thought-feeling emotion. But could it appear without that non-relationship, without that functioning? If you know it appearing in and on that, can the basic stream devoid, as it says, of name and form?
Can it be constructed or contaminated? Also, that picture that you painted about the sun creating the clouds, if you actually recognize that everything that is appearing is basically the result of the self-shining of that sun. So every cloud, even the darkest one, is the loving to be of the sun radiating its radiance. And the analogy goes because sun seems located and the clouds seem separate. Analogy has its limitations, of course. But if you think of the intelligence radiating the body and the world and the feelings and the thoughts, but it is just that one radiance which is not in the sun, it's not here. It is just, it is the whole space that is reflecting in itself.
How did you form that body? How did that body form? Through the sperm and ovum of your mother and father. Two microscopic vehicles. From the essence of the food they eaten, there was prana or energy or intelligence, that is. That sperm and ovum. That sperm was suffused with intelligence. It knew what to do. What happens when they came together? They knew where to swim to. They swam to the ovum and penetrated the ovum. And what formed from that? That cell doubled and redoubled. What were you doing about it then as the entity? Nothing. But the intelligence knew what to do. And when it formed a little embryo, how did that form?
Didn't that form through the essence that life has in your mother, that formed that cord. And didn't it through, where did that essence of the life come into this body? Through the cord, through the umbilical cord. Where was it going into the body from? Through the umbilical cord of the mother. Through that cord the life and energy was patterned, shaped and forming. When you were born that cord was cut. And the body carried on from that life and energy of its own. That energy of life was going into that cord. And in that life was the light. And effulgent, the shining through your eyes. It's living.
You are the light of the light. The shining through your eyes and thoughts and other things are forming. You are the light. And they're useful and necessary. And we take them to be real. And take them to be what we are. We are the conceptual. I am the Australian, the good fella, the bad fella. I'm having a rough tour. People don't like me. And all those concepts and believe it. Instead of saying, I am that light. Abide as that. And the world comes and goes about it. And things happen as they happen. New hips happen. Pain happen. Fear. Knowing that anything and everything can happen in that fortress.
And it does. But how long is it going to last in this individual pattern? If it's seen to be that also. It's seen to be transient and changing. There's nothing static about this pattern. It can't last. And it doesn't last. And how far away is that happiness and uncaused joy away in that? The pains go on here. How long is it before the laughter comes? The sadness might come up here. How long is it before the laughter comes? The fears coming. How long is it going to last? The loss of somebody. How long is it going to carry on for? If I realise that's a natural function.
It's come, it's appeared and lost. And what's happening to that was lost and what that has left you. And you realise that was that also. It appeared pattern-shaped form did its job and has continued to doing it. Not as this pattern-shaped form. That pattern-shaped form has never been divided. It's never been separated. It's always been the totality. Always being the totality of the great perfection. You are the great perfection. That's one of the things in Buddhism. There's nothing new. The great perfection is non-conceptual awareness. Awareness without any of these thoughts. Pointing out again that the thoughts, concepts, ideas and images that break down this non-conceptual awareness, the pattern-shaped form, which are useful in the functioning.
When they give them some life and pattern-shaped form, they're causing a problem. Yeah, I think it's really fun if you want to always find an answer like thinking about it. But saying things like you're saying, sort of, be, that it is already... Yeah. It is known non-conceptually. Stop talking and thinking. There's nothing you won't be able to know. And the only thing you need to know is that you are. And that's the thing that's not as well as it is. It's just sketch. Stop talking and thinking. And there's nothing that you won't be able to know. It seems to me. It's true. And really, the Satchitananda is awareness of being is bliss.
Are you unaware of your being? You are aware of your being. But you are also aware of a thousand other things that distract you from the bliss. Yeah. There's a little thing in one of the scriptures, when he realised, I am, I am, that is consciousness. The whole manifestation of what it is, it's beautiful to say. I might remember it later. I am, that I, that I, that is consciousness. What can I say, think or do, that is not that? Thinking that, I throw my cap in the air and joy and dance. Thinking that thought. Thinking that, I am that. Stop thinking. I am not thinking that thought.
Stop thinking that thought. Or, thinking that thought. Thinking that thought. Thinking, not thinking. Or I forget anyway, but it's beautiful now. Dancing joy and thinking that. I know I'm present at the moment that I'm alive and that can't be negated but I'm conscious as well of the room and the people and everything that's around me. Does that mean I'm aware as well? Yes. Tell me this. Are you unaware? No. You're unaware. What self is unaware? It's no self. Aware. It's because of awareness. You must be aware. But you can't say what awareness is. You can't grasp the concept. We try and grasp consciousness with a concept.
We can't. We've got the word. We've got the language. But if you're not unconscious, you must be conscious. If you're not unaware, you must be aware. But, Bob, you can feel it. You can feel consciousness. Yes, yes. It's got no shape or form, but you can feel it. So you can feel it and recognise that feeling and keep coming back to it. And the more you recognise it, you stay with it, then... That's how I'd express it. Thought, feeling and emotion. It's a thought, feeling and emotion, isn't it? So what does it feel like to be conscious? It doesn't have the sensation to it. It doesn't have sensation in the space of seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, smelling.
It's basically just something you can't deny. It's a knowing. Yeah, yeah. Can you say, I don't know? Of course not. No, you can say it. But in the very saying of it, you know that you're saying, I don't know. And you can't negate it. You can't negate your being. You can't negate all the concepts and ideas. Try and stop your beingness right now. So would it be to say, just stay as that knowingness, but not what is known? Yeah. Yeah. And what is known will appear in the knowingness. Because what is known in the quest for the self is totally useless. Yeah. Yeah. Good point.
It seeming appear and do it. You might less onto it, you might not. But to know the truth, I suppose you know the truth and stay with the truth, the truth will set you free. And that's the truth of your own being. Yeah. And they've always been free of it. And you haven't known that. Free of the belief. And you haven't known that precisely because of the clouds focusing on the thoughts. And we constantly, you know, we look low to those sorts because our parents, schools, society, and nation haven't looked into it in schools, haven't questioned themselves. And we're taught that. We're taught that I am this entity.
I am this person. I am this. And reinforced it. We go to schools and get that education. We reinforce that belief. But look at the word belief. Look in your dictionary and see the definition of belief. The definition of belief is an unquestioned acceptance. An acceptance of something we're not questioning. Unquestioned acceptance of something. In the absence of reason. We're not reasoning it and looking at it and see if it's true or not. We're questioning. We take it on without questioning. We take on this idea that I am this person. Without questioning it. We carry on with it until something pulls you up and you start to look.
And it might bring you into a place like this where that questioning will go on. An unquestioned belief of something in the absence of reason. Acceptance of an alleged fact. And again you're taking on this alleged fact. You were born. You are created. I am this body, mind, entity. I am this person. An alleged fact. Without positive knowledge or proof. Well to see if it's true what have you got to do? You need to pause for a moment and have a look. What is the prior to thought? And you're going to pause the thought. There is that stillness. There is that awareness. There is that basic livingness that's going on that's prior to the mind.
When you pause the thought for a moment. When a thought is paused you can't pause the thought. If you try to look at what's behind my mind will stop of itself you see. Without the thought that will come up in the mind as translation. I'm seeing. I'm hearing. I'm breathing. I'm tasting and touching and smelling without the thought. And then you'll also realise what is this. When's the next thought coming from? You realise the next thought must be coming on what was there. The seeing. The hearing. The taste and touching and smelling. What was there. The basic stillness. The void of all this conceptual image.
The next thought will appear in that. Without me doing anything at all. It does. When thought starts again. What's it must start on? If you were the thought and you paused the thought. Zilch. Nothing could go on. Nothing would go on. It would be the end of you. But it's not the end of you without a thought. The next thought will come up. But does the next thought come about by that believed in entity thinking of thought? It's not. Because none of you know what your next thought will be. But you realise if thought was paused when a thought, for a moment, the next thought appears in that.
And two of your thoughts, feelings, emotions appear on that. They're appearing on that which was beyond the mind. That which was prior to the thought. That natural intelligence energy which is your reality. And they talk about going beyond the mind. You might have questioned that. How is going to go beyond the mind? Just point it out there. What was there prior to the mind? You recognise that. And you realise it's not some great thing you have to go through. There's no one going to strike a big bang or some information. No thing. That might as heavy how it expresses a sudden realisation. It's shit. I've been that all the time.
Beyond the mind. And you recognise if I am the mind, beyond the mind, I must be that awareness, that stillness, that being. Which thoughts, feelings, emotions, patterns, shapes and forms appear in. And you realise I am something that's greater than this body might be. It doesn't make anything superior or any different. Because you know there's this little pattern, shape and form. But abiding is that you're allowing the life to take place. To appear. To put new hips in. To put pain there. To take it away. To put the love there. The peace, the joy. The satisfaction of wellbeing. Being well. Naturally and ever-sleeve. Let what comes, come and let what goes, go.
It can't be any other way because it's all vibrating, intelligent energy. It hasn't got any shape. It hasn't got any shape or form. It is just that, only that. The time has caught up with us. The time has caught up with us. That's all there is. Thank you. There isn't any more. The time has had time. They pull the plug on. Not literally. If nature doesn't do it. Awesome. Awesome. Mm-hmm.
